I bought this laptop after I saw Just Josh review it. It's incredible. I love it. Such a good value for the price. Best Buy had a great black friday sale on it, keep an eye on there for future sales. HP Sales Support and Return Policy is awful!

is the fan noise an issue as josh mentioned?

    • @charliescholz591
      @charliescholz591 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@terminal_time3637 Honestly, it hasn't been at all for me. Sure, like most laptops, I'll notice it once in awhile. The experience I've had is way more positive than what Josh said in his *latest* video. I was annoyed initially because he gave it such high praises at first, then walked it back later on. His issues seem to be isolated ones with many solutions in the comments, so I am not regretful at all.

Excellent PC. Great keyboard layout (one of the best I have seen). Camera and microphone are good. Don't care for the soldered in memory and WiFi but what you get is probably more than sufficient for most users. HP should consider putting another port either USB A or USB C or better yet HDMI port if it would fit in the corner Gem cut where the power button used to be. The only other drawback with opening up this unit is HP putting some of the screws under the rubber strips. Still a great PC and one of my favorite laptops. Also equally a great review.

Great review...this is the laptop I wanted but here in the UK, HP just couldn't give me a date when or even if this configuration would be released (apparently they are cutting back on their SKU's in the UK) - in the end I got fed up waiting so have gone with the Asus UX393EA which I'm picking up tomorrow.....makes me even sadder after watching this lol.

@@chloesmith9272 That’s cool, I really do think you’ve chosen a great laptop. I called HP twice, and the people I spoke to just could not give me any details on this laptop and did not even know if it was coming to the UK. However, I did get the feeling they could not be bothered to find out the true situation. I know they have the silver version listed on the UK website, but I specifically wanted the black version in a certain configuration. I pick my ASUS laptop later and I’m happy with the choice I’ve made, hopefully it turns out to be as good as I’m expecting.

    • @chloesmith9272

@@rufdymond yeah it's pretty annoying that the UK release is much later than the US release, and I really wanted the black model too but was told that it wouldn't be coming in until later in the year. The UK cost is also more expensive than in the US. They currently only have the option for the i5 FHD or the 11th generation i7 OLED. I would have preferred the 11th gen i7 FHD instead of the OLED for battery life, but sadly not possible right now. Hopefully battery life Will still be sufficient. Good that you were able to find something else instead! :)

First we thought an iPad Air 2020 would be a good fit, but those things are more expensive than anticipated (800€ without pen or keyboard).
Now she is going to replace her old laptop with this.
If Im not mistaken, two QHD monitors can be connected via a thunderbolt hub and the laptop used in tablet mode for note taking at the same time, right?

Bought it already Andrew...and yes ... 3:2 ratio is really make sense since I read more. It is nice, snappy and just match with my fingers without adding more weight than 15" varian. sure I miss the numpad, but can live without it either....everything is just perfect for now and hopefully nothing problem with the screen like my older 15" that I returned. and that is true with your words....we can not kept on delaying in buying laptop since new generation and better version will always come almost every month....you need it...you like...you search...then you buy it NOW....or you will never buy and always compare :-))

  • @sebkeccu4546

There are already many problems reported : like the fact that the volume buttons have been removed, it is now on the keyboard, but when you use it in tent mode or tablet mode the keyboard is disabled so you actually don't have access anymore to the volume button and also to the power button, because the physical power button also dissapeared... and then there is the issue with the rubber feets that fall off after 6 months (a problem existing for three spectre generations now, without any solution)
And what happens when you want to press the delete key and you accidently press the power button all the time

If you watch movies or TH-cam videos a lot would it be better to go with the 16:9 aspect ratio vs. 3:2 You did not show it but I assume on a movie has black space at the top and bottom vs. full screen or is that adjustable? I am thinking of purchasing one as I have had issues with my XPS-13 2 in 1 with screen flash and black outs.

Andrew thanks for another great review -- just 2 suggestions: most if not all of your segments contain a comment on the webcams in these laptops. But since it's almost never the case that a webcam is actually good, and beyond the usual 720 resolution, why include this at all? It's just a waste of time as I see it, unless a particular laptop miraculously exceeds the usual level of performance on the cam. On WIFI cards -- you usually say "future proof for the foreseeable future" -- why not just say "future proof" and leave it at that?

After I used this machine for around 2 months, I have come to a similar conclusion to him
    CONS
    1. OLED Panel gives me about 5 and half hours of battery life, if you want better battery life, get the IPS panel. I really wish battery life was about at least 8 hours
    2. The Graphics card (Intel Iris Xe) is not meant for gaming. I tried gaming on this PC, it is ok but a dedicated graphics card would have made this device overall nearly perfect
    3. No user upgradability in terms of RAM, but I don't mind that too much
    PROS
    EVERYTHING ELSE!
Conclusion- Get the device, if you have the money, if you wouldn't really mind the above cons

And one more thing, the pen on this device doesn't charge wirelessly with the magnets, which is kinda expected so it has to charged via a USB C charger (at least they include a charger in the box that can be used to charge the pen)

I ended up ordering the 15t tigerlake with oled screen, other than size difference do you feel they are equivalent, been wondering if I made a mistake, very few reviews on the 15t update other than it’s implied it may be a little faster because the thermals are better.... also it seems oled is a custom order now for the 15t so I’m not expecting to see any reviews if the one I ordered

    Hi
In March 2019 i bought the HP Spectre x360 15”. In the first 2 years I’ve had it, the screen has been replaced 3 times. The lighting on the screen is awful at the best of times. If I’m looking at a predominantly white background (ms word or excel), the lighting is very uneven and ends up giving me eye strain. The screen has been replaced because of these dark vertical lines that keep appearing - starting from the bottom of the screen.
I have a 3 year guarantee on the machine, and HP have offered to either replace the laptop with something else or give me back my money. I like the overall build of the x360 however. My question is, does anybody know of the 2021 version has ironed out tie screen problems (the problems I’ve had are apparently known design faults)?

I'd like my next laptop to have 32 GB of RAM and at least LTE (preferably 5G) connectivity. I assume that is not available on this computer. If only the Elite book had 3x2 form factor. Also, the video camera seemed not perfect.

Editors choice award should tell you and probably a good indicator of laptop of the year, the biggest surprise to me after watching tons of videos on tigerlake laptops is how big thermals play a part, it’s why I kinda expect the 15T to out perform the 14T.... the proof seems to be the razors numbers.... there attempt to keep tigerlake cool seems to almost be like they are running a different chip

    • @sebastianrodriguezbojorge7123

Agreed, the difference between laptops is considerable in performance and price regardless having same specs in paper.

This is so good - my first choice if I was buying today. Stick in AMD, get rid of the Gem cut, put in full size SD slot - pretty much perfect spec but everything compares to a practically fanless Apple M1.
