In the UK Lenovo website, if you select ‘build your own’ on the 7i page, you can upgrade to the ultra 7 155H processor, then you get the 2.8k OLED display. You can also upgrade to 1Tb storage and 32GB memory. I’ve been researching what to get for my son who is start college, and I’ve gone round in circles abit, initially Asus (until I read many scare stories about their poor warranty support), then HP x360 Spectre (until I read about lots of issues with those machines), then Lenovo but initially thought I could only get the spec I wanted on the 9i, until I started digging down into the 7i options. I can get the same screen, same cpu, same storage capacity, same memory capacity on the i7 as the ‘ready built’ 9i option, but the 7i is ~£300 cheaper….& I’m now trying to work out what I’m losing out on, and it doesn’t seem to be much at all.
The Yoga 9i adds: * 3840x2400 display (vs the 7i's 2880x1800 display) * A rechargeable Lenovo Slim Pen * Is about 1.35kg (compared with 1.49kg for the OLED 7i) * An extra 4Wh of battery capacity It loses: * The Micro SD card slot * The 120Hz display Right now, the upgraded 7i is £1087.99 vs the 9i at £1500 in Lenovo's flash sale.

Great video! You mention that there are laptops which have better battery life.... can you recommend a similar one to these (similar specs) but better battery life?
My complaint with your review is that you described the SD card slot reader as expandable storage and that is not the intended use for that slot at all. The Yoga line is the creative line, it's there for importing media content for editing. The review could have gone into more detail about the slots real purpose as quickly importing video footage without needing a card reader adapter that takes up one of the USB C slots. Having to unplug a docking station or monitors just to import footage is so dumb, and would have been a perfect reason for you to say we should buy it. Just a thought :). i believe the hinges vary from device to device, because I've seen reviews of the same laptop, and most of them say you can open it with 1 hand very easily and smooth. and i think the same goes for the keyboard, some say its mushy without much feedback, while some say its crisp and has very solid feedback, and also the trackpad, and speakers. also i dont know if this is to do with location but every other review i have seen (and on the official lenovo website) the display has been an OLED 120 HZ 2.8k panel. and final thing to say, every single review ive watched has said only 16gb ram, while on the lenovo website it says 32gb ram. ok i lied, this is the final edit, from what ive seen the laptop has 400 nits of brightness???? im honestly so confused rn, i think my best bet its to just use my own knowledge and the website 😭 oh hell nah aint no way i keep seeing things i dont understand, low color accuracy???? apparently it has one of the MOST color accurate displays of ANY convertible. oh mann it keeps getting worse, from what ive seen this laptop has also some of the best 2 in 1 and even just thin and light battery life on the market!!! if it helps i live in australia, so location may be the reason for these changes, also mine has a fingerprint reader + facial recognition instead of just the facial recognition. ok that is the final final final final final edit. i promise!!!!

@john-gr8in Hi John, I'm also in the UK 👋, and am also looking at the 7i 14”. The designation "h" behind the processor number indicates the processor is performance oriented, whereas the letter "u" signifies that it's low energy consumption oriented (at the expense of performance, obviously).

Agreed, I got this laptop for $638 like 2 weeks ago on their excellent condition.
Dang!!
what is your opinion of intel ultra core 5 vs 7? I have Lenovo yoga I 7. It is 5 years old and I need to replace it. The battery keeps dying. I have having difficulty deciding to spend the extra money for the Ultra core 7 processor.
How does this laptop rate against the ASUS - Zenbook 14 OLED 14" WUXGA Touch Laptop, Intel Core Ultra 7 - Intel Evo Edition - 16GB Memory - 1TB SSD. I love Lenovo but it looked like this Asus might be better especially if I don’t require the 2-n-1 option
link not working for me
I couldn't find the 2k configuration of this laptop 😢 in Canada
What about the samsung galaxy 360 books like 4th gen?
-Does this one have the WUXGA 45% IPS display?- edit: Nvm he says it in the video. Just bought one like this an was worried about the display. Doesn't look too bad.
What editing programs was you using in this Video ?
I’m more impressed by the 7i with 125U or H. About 20% less performance across but way better battery life
What pens are compatible with this lab top
how is the screendoor effect? also compared to 9i 2 in 1?
By screendoor effect, are you asking if you can see between the pixels?
Wait does it come with a pen ? Mine didn’t
You always have to Check the what the reseller says. They often leave the PEN included in the picture but have a small point in the description where it says, that the PEN is not included. Happend me too😢
wish it had a higher res screen like the 9i. Strangly the 9i doesn't have a microSD slot. Kind of inconsistant specs.
How is it that previous gen the video which you uploaded 8 months back has better battery life than the current gen?
Hey! I bought this laptop and it's really amazing till now. The only complaint I have till now is that for some reason my microphone just won't work. I can hear everything through the speakers but when I tried Discord, Zoom or even the Audiorecorder from Windows, nothing happens. Can anyone help me out here?
Does it have a usbC port that can connect to a monitor?
Probably
Any other options that have 100% srgb ? More accurate in the 1200 dollar rage . I watched some of your old videos but the models u mention don’t have those specs
Great review. I'm just butthurt that they don't allow their Cosmic Blue colorway on a 16" Yoga. There is also no 32GB AMD option or even OLED. A little puzzling.
Great video. Thank you! I was torn between Asus, Samsung and this. I got it from Best Buy (Canada) and it's even better than advertised. Great spec and excellent for business work. ❤
Does it come with the pen?
@@ajaolekan3934 Yes. I haven't set up the pen yet.
How about hp envy x360 14 ultra core 7?
This or HP envy 14 2024?
Envy is junk, sent it back
I have this laptop, but the 16-inch one. I do not recommend this laptop because of the hinge. Mine got broken in just a few months.
Is it slim version?
Does anyone know what stylus he is using?
i believe the hinges vary from device to device, because I've seen reviews of the same laptop, and most of them say you can open it with 1 hand very easily and smooth. and i think the same goes for the keyboard, some say its mushy without much feedback, while some say its crisp and has very solid feedback, and also the trackpad, and speakers. also i dont know if this is to do with location but every other review i have seen (and on the official lenovo website) the display has been an OLED 120 HZ 2.8k panel. and final thing to say, every single review ive watched has said only 16gb ram, while on the lenovo website it says 32gb ram. ok i lied, this is the final edit, from what ive seen the laptop has 400 nits of brightness???? im honestly so confused rn, i think my best bet its to just use my own knowledge and the website 😭 oh hell nah aint no way i keep seeing things i dont understand, low color accuracy???? apparently it has one of the MOST color accurate displays of ANY convertible. oh mann it keeps getting worse, from what ive seen this laptop has also some of the best 2 in 1 and even just thin and light battery life on the market!!! if it helps i live in australia, so location may be the reason for these changes, also mine has a fingerprint reader + facial recognition instead of just the facial recognition. ok that is the final final final final final edit. i promise!!!!
Please help I am in dilemma! I really like yoga pro 9i and legion 7i however i can't buy both obviously. I am a CS student but, I like to game and want to have that 4070 of legion 7i and its amazing looks. Legion 7i is kinda cheaper than yoga pro 9i but I think for my gaming need yoga's 4060 will be enough. Need suggestions form y'all. ( I don't care if the ram is soldered)
4060 is more than enough i run 4060 and run every game in max settings except for call of duty i run that on high settings as opposed to to ultra high
@@davidgarza995 so I should buy yoga pro 9i over legion 7i?
Can I play any games smoothly in yoga's 4060 with mini led? I want to buy the mini led version so 4060 might not be enough for gaming.
Did you buy?
Does this come in a 16" and a dedicated gpu? Or that's now left for the 9i.
I currently use the yoga 730 from what 6-7 years ago..
The hinge failed me.. Really early too.
But I really don't want to spend a lot of money.. Around $1000.. And still would love the touch function and a 16" Lenovo laptop..
Any suggestions?
I would also love a recommendation like this. A 16inch with pen would be great. Definitely need a dedicated GPU too.
In Germany the HP envy 2 in 1 with a 3k display is cheaper for me. I payed 900€. The lenovo 7i with a 2,8 - 3k display costs 1000€ +
Thinking about it but I ready have a labtop with spec of 23g ram 4070 ryzen 9
,now am looking for a tablet was thinking of xiaomi pad 7 ,but I saw this a 2 for 1 😢
Hey ben can you review lenovo legion slim 5 16 gen 9 rtx 4070 2024 edition. It’s 1250$ priced right now. I am eagerly waiting to get a review of this laptop 😊😊
For gaming, just buy a pc. for work/school, look at if you need it or you can buy a cheaper one and if you cant, go for it.
@@TechnologicalG4mer1 yea brother i will travel alot and for a powerhouse i need this type slim laptop :))
@@Levendush you need a 4070?
@@TechnologicalG4mer1 4060 or 4070 :)))
has anyone's lagged a bit when watching videos on the lenovo yoga 7i (gen 9)?
I suggest people pass on this one. The case or housing on mine popped and squeaked right out of the box. Very disappointing coming from a company like Lenovo. I may have gotten a bad one, but I expect more from Lenovo. I went back to HP.
Public service anoucment, the side on/off switch is the worst feature! It will break easily because of shitty build quality. And might require a whole motherboard replacement or u drill a hole in the case
Hi, I bought this laptop. I am looking for pen but not sure which one is the right one. May you please tell me what pen you are using? Thank you
Lenovo has it on there website digital pen 2
Update how is it now
May I know this is storm grey or arctic grey color?
the i9 and i7 are not the same cpus. I9 155h is more powerful than the 155u
Should I get rid of my hp envy 2024 for this laptop instead? I’m more so worried about build quality and longevity
Would this yoga 7i 14, ultra 7 155h be better than the yoga 7i 16, i7 1355u. They are both currently on sale in the UK both priced the same at £799/$1020
@john-gr8in Hi John, I'm also in the UK 👋, and am also looking at the 7i 14”. The designation "h" behind the processor number indicates the processor is performance oriented, whereas the letter "u" signifies that it's low energy consumption oriented (at the expense of performance, obviously).
@@spartanthe300ththermopylae4 thanks for that. In your opinion what would be the better buy both priced at £799. The ultra 7 155h on the 14 inch I believe is newer than the i7 1355u on the 16 inch. I'm swaying towards the 16 inch for the extra screen size.
I got mine for 530 on sale
Where ?

I can say the penholder is Bad nur the Performance is grate and i had no trouble at all.
@@laserlotz do you use it for coding?
can I use the 2024 yoga 9 digital pen on the yoga 7 ?
guys, hp envy x360 or lenovo yoga 7i
I had an HP (Bought in 2019) and would constantly have issues where the screen would turn off and I'd have to reboot manually. Also, made a weird clicking noise after a few months of owning it. Still works but was just annoying to deal with. I now just bought the Lenovo 7i and am very happy with it.
Trying to make the same decision 😭
@@c0smicchelsea hi i got the asus zenbook flip 14 oled
