    It would've been great if you gave a bit more detailed overview of the battery life. It's a particularly important point in 2-in-1s. I'm very much considering purchasing this laptop but battery life is definitely one of the most important points for me.

      @@Only_HabibiDoes she buy the products with her own money? How does she afford it? I remember Austin Evans said when he was starting out he would just buy the products, film a bunch of videos on them, then return them. Does she do that, or just sell them?

    • @sharkfintech5893
      @sharkfintech5893 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @IceBlueLugia She disclosed that this video was sponsored by Lenovo and Intel, so the laptop is at worst a test/review unit (which she'll need to return to Lenovo), while at best, she'll get to keep it at no cost.
      Also, she has a relationship with Samsung, so she gets review devices (phones, tablets, laptops, watches) from them as well.
      At 430K subs, she's that much further along in her TH-cam creator journey than Austin was when he started, so revenue streams like other sponsorships, AdSense, affiliate links, etc, likely pay her enough to afford any other devices she wants to review (and/or own) -- without having to make the crappy choice between needing to return reviewed merchandise, or taking on debt.

    • @Shadowwe1

    I have this laptop 2024 model, and overall, it's a good laptop. However, beware of the OLED touch screen. It has a thin layer of digital touch on top of your OLED screen, which results in a graininess matrix layer. If you don't notice it, that's good for you. But if you are keen about your display, then be warned. They use OLED screen technology such as GF2 or OGM (One Glass Metal Mesh), if you are interested in learning more.

    It is softer than previous 😢 This 2024 Gen9 has become bit smaller and thinner which is a good thing but first thing I noticed that it is softer than previous gen8 yoga 9. I think it is not the chassis but much softer bottom cover which has some play in it, especially when taking it from bottom right corner. There is some play between cover and internals. Don’t know why they didn’t add some tape or smthn to cover empty space. It is still more solid than most 2in1 but it is annoying that it creaks every time I lift it from corner. 2023 felt just much sturdier.

    I've been using a Yoga 920 2-in-1 for a few years now. A few things: Drawing on a 2-in-1 is WAY different than drawing on a dedicated tablet. You think it's going to work for you, until it really doesn't. My version had reliability issues - my sound completely died during the pandemic - the computer was only 2 years old at that point. It still works but the speakers no longer work - kinda sucks since I'm a teacher and like to show my students how-to videos every so often. Lastly - not having a dedicated GPU - SUCKS - seriously. If you don't think you need the pen/drawing feature - just get a laptop with a dedicated GPU. If you do any photoshop/video editing/light gaming - you are going to want a gpu more than the ability to flip the computer around and draw. I think I'm going to get a legion laptop as my next computer.

      These were the 2 options I was considering as well. I would love to have this laptop if it had an rtx 4070. • @joaofreitas1438
      @joaofreitas1438 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I'm wondering if you've already got the laptop. I am mostly interested in the battery life. How does it hold up? Ella doesn't really go into detail, and saying it doesn't match the M2 is not very informative at all. I haven't seen any windows laptop measure up to Apple silicon in terms of battery life

    • @friendlysurveillancecamera6507
      @friendlysurveillancecamera6507 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The fan noise of this laptop is not that bad. You will hear fan noise if you set your laptop to Performance mode, but there is no fan noise in battery saving mode. I have used three modes for web browsing with 20 tabs open and running some virtual machine tasks, and I didn't notice any significant difference in performance across those modes. In short, the battery saving mode is good enough and doesn't produce any fan noise. However, I don't play games.

    • @friendlysurveillancecamera6507
      @friendlysurveillancecamera6507 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I have this laptop, and when I set it to Battery saving mode, I can comfortably get around 8 hours or more of battery life. In the middle mode, the battery lasts around 5 to 6 hours, and in Performance mode, it may last around 4 hours. However, due to my preference to avoid fan noise, I haven't extensively tested the laptop in Performance mode. For my typical tasks, which include browsing, working with Word documents, coding, and running virtual machines, the battery life is sufficient in the lower power modes.

    Your jitter diagonal line test should:
    - be thinner, thick hides defects
    - many lines closer together like //////...
    - close enough to see this artifact: _()()()()_
    Also, you should give a notetaking sample at regular size and not write in huge thick text. It's hard to tell how nice it is. The smaller your handwriting the better.
    My eyes are telling me this AES 2.0 screen&pen isn't the best. It looks like its deviating 2-5 pixels during a jitter.
    MPP 2.0 (Surface Slim Pen 2 and other good implements) and Apple Pencil win again :/

I have been using the Yoga for about a week, after 4 hours lite usage (VPN, outlook, teams, RDP, TH-cam), the battery drops to 60%. With M2, it only drops to 80%. I ran some CPU intensive tasks; the speed was close to M2. Some benchmarks show the new Intel CPU is faster than M2, but not for me.

    Had a Lenovo Yoga once. It froze all the time, even after a reset and installing minimal apps. Support could not figure out the problem. To add to that, the frame cracked near the hinge. This only being less than a year old and the device was cared for and never dropped. Never had a 2 in 1 give me these problems. Vowed to never buy Lenovo again after that.

      same, support is just so bad especially the usa chat one, they just cant communicate at all, worse than talking to an ai, i have a legion pro and the battery is just so bad and thats not while gaming, i told them im not getting anything from them again and i cant even sell it because anything thats not apple loses 20% its value the moment you buy it...

      Reviewers cannot daily drive every machine so they can't tell you longevity. In general, longer term issues (other than customer service) are model specific rather than brand specific. They're due to design flaws that show up later down the line, and laptop designs are constantly refreshed every year so it can be difficult to spot

    Why they keep going with intel? If you put an 8840U in this thing... it would be perfect since the graphical power of the AMD APUs is great and I can really draw with that chip. but the intel onBoard graphics still suck when drawing. It's unusable for "real" graphic works because they decided to go with intel.
    And the extra buttons on the right do drive me crazy. if this is meant for productivity... who thought this would be a good idea? ...

    This is such a better review than Just Josh's review. Particularly around the 2 in 1 functionality and features a consumer is looking for in this type of a laptop. You don't bring into it any subjective opinions like he does. Thank you for your focus on the consumer's use case for this laptop and the features they're looking for. Especially around the software and pen support that he entirely left out in his review.
