hey jason , im making a standalone harness atm and im wondering what plugs and sensors you needed to run your engine. im running nitrous as well so im assuming knocks , coils, ait , coolant temp , cam position. do i need any more ? thankyou
This is a great video! I am considering running a carb on an LS I bought some time ago for like $350 just to test it on the stand. If I understood correctly, these are all the settings and the values they need to be set to to get a STOCK engine (no cam, turbo, or anything like that) running on a carb?
Out of curiosity why wouldn't you try to run a MAP sensor? I mean, in theory, you could then use a wideband to setup your VE table correctly, which (again, in theory) would allow you to have a 3D spark table given the cylinder airmass calculations would be accurate.
The set up would be similar but I would need a little bit more information about the vehicle and weight and all that kind of good stuff go ahead and send me your email to dr.artsstuff@gmail.com Send me your contact info and I’ll give you a shout and let you know where to send it etc. thanks
I think that's basically what the video was about I'm having the same issue I got a LS3 in my 81 Chevrolet and it seems to be a bit of a pain running all the high pressure fuel lines and then I noticed that I do not have a mass air flow wire anywhere on my harness and I do not know where it went in instead of buying o2's and wiring up a maf I got a good holly and cathedral Port intake and this is going to be for nothing but burning rubber
i, watched your video. sorry, for my ignorance but can the stock ecu be used to control a carb swapped more spicy 5.3? say more compression, and a good size cam. i'm headed down this path due to the ridiculous prices of finicky sometimes sold-out systems.
Depends if you have a scan tool and the ability to read the O2 sensors through the OBD two port then yes leave them but if you don’t have any of that ability and he just want to watch him while you’re driving yeah I put in our aftermarket cage set
You can customize the tune for the timing and etc. for just a stock motor that you want to drive daily but if you just want to stock daily driver why would you put a carburetor on it but if you did it’s not a problem
I now trucks that have been converted from GM TBI to carburetor have used those PCM's from trans control. Could be a cheap way to put an electronic transmission in an old car. @@DrArtshotrodrehab
@@332ARA if you want I would need the harness connector And $100.00 to unlock the ECM in HP I would program for free so I could use it for content If interested e mail me dr.artsstuff@gmail.com
If you’re using the stock harness all you have to do is unplug the injectors the map the maf and the TPS And the purge solenoid if you’re using an electronic transmission you would need to make a adapter off the carburetor for a throttle position sensor if using a nonelectronic transmission or a manual you don’t need to do anything else

Alright so just tried this with the 03-07 ecu and I've got the engine running for 3 to 5 seconds and it's shutting itself off. Confirmed that the vats are turned off. Engine was running with efi but switching to carb it just shuts off after a few seconds. Any thoughts?
fired it up tonight with a edelbrock carb and she is very happy! thanks man for the help !

any chance you could upload the tune file into the comments section? I'm sure it would be much appreciated for more than just me. Thanks

Yes, on the stock engine, but previous tunes to customize had a hotter than Stockham and we just make adjustments for that so either way works

Great question Jim the only reason we don’t do that. It becomes an issue on decell fueling when using a carburetor And it’s much easier
Would you set one up for 6.0 with 600 lift cam if I sent you my ecu thank you nice video always wondering if you could do that

Yes
You can enable or disable

is it possible to have the stock ecu to only control ingnition system not the transmission and run a carb?
Yes
how do i get my pcm to you?

Yes it can
Can you leave the downstream O² sensors working with a carb? For Air/Fuel ratios or do you recommend a stand-alone system with gauge?

Because I like carburetor system better
@DrArtshotrodrehab this is the hook up
What about the 4l60e
Then you need to add a TPS and a brake switch input
@@DrArtshotrodrehab hey thank u so very much I have been looking for so long to even see if this is possible thank u for taking the time to answer me
Can one of these be used ONLY for transmission control? Right now I have an MSD for my 4.8 and a 700r4. But if I wanted to run a 4L60 or 4L80...
Not sure you would need sensor input from TPS. MAP and RPM and brake switch

100 labor
25 return shipping

Yes you would just have to hook up a TPS to the carburetor
