I’ve used Mobil 1 for more than 40 years, never had any problems with it. Changed it every 4000 miles or so. I’ve changed to AMSOIL signature series and using AMSOIL filters. Even my wife noticed her engine being quieter. We will see.
Mobil does a great job of marketing an average synthetic oil. Amsoil is a 3:36 lot better due to using a great additive pack. Having said that. It’s important to change your oil every 5k miles. Do this one thing and it doesn’t matter what oil you use.
The key is to do regular oil changes and not leave engine oil for too long doesnt matter what u use just change oil every 5k u will never have issues extended oil changes are non sense not worth doing
I've been doing once a year oil changes, with twice are filter changes and oil analysis every 3 months for over 30 yrs now with Amsoil, and I've never, seen any harm done to my engines!!
@@michealettinger1862 It's whatever people are comfortable with and it was not good on my friends 1987 Buick Grandnational he had to stop using Amsoil as his engine is a flat tappet Cam and is now using Valvoline VR Racing and it is fine Flat tappet cams require more zinc and Valvoline has that better protection the amsoil is not meant for all cars unfortunately its a generic oil and marketing nobody uses that stuff on Ferrari super expensive cars they Shell Helix Ultra and Europe makes the better oils they have stricter standards than America people just want to believe internet forums and google when not all cars are the same for engine requirements.
@@michealettinger1862 just finished watching a utube video of a guy that changed his amsoil oil at 4500 miles and this was 1 year in the engine oil was really bad and metal filings cause the magnet caught particles and was using an amsoil filter the guy was stating not worth keeping oil in for 1 year was on a Honda accord 5w30 signature series amsoil looked pretty bad and it was considered low mileage he is basically saying even with Amsoil change it early and that no oil should not stay in an engine for a year
I've used mobil 1 for years. Great oil. Although I been using mobil 1 for years, Learned that mobil 1 is not 100 percent synthetic motor oil. Just as a lot of "full synthetic" motor oil on the market is not. Although by law they can market their oil as that. I've tested amsoil signature series 100 percent synthetic and noticed a difference compared to mobil 1. I can go up to 9 months before another oil change with amsoil. I've been using amsoil for 18 years now and haven't looked back. As for pricing, you get what you pay for. Yes, amsoil is a bit pricey, but it all evens out with their preferred customer membership. With the preferred membership you get discounts. I'm happy with amsoil.
I think this is a good assessment. After COVID, I have been driving much less, so Amsoil signature is likely a bit of overkill. But the car idles as quiet as an EV. So there is a noticeable difference. Plus, when you do the oil change yourself, you’re not spending anymore than taking the car in for an oil change. Plus, they’d use much cheaper stuff!
Extended oil changes are for those who lease or trade in often. These days ( Fuel Dilution ) has taken extended oil changes out of the equation no matter what oil or what price you pay for it.
best way to put this to rest. have an independant test facility test all top tier synthetics, and present unbiased findings. All synthetic oil manufacturers should rally for this. A good oil speaks for itself, and doesn’t rely on advertising to sell.
Where is the hype? It's been tested tested and retested, real world and with all the standardized tests. There is no unicorn horn, pixie dust promises. It costs to make a high end high tech product. Also there are programs available to help reduce cost.
AMSOIL NOT recommended??? Surely you jest? It's got some of the lowest pour points of any out there. It's headquarters is in Superior Wisconsin, not far from me. That's where it was developed. And let me tell you it gets winter here!
Any good Synthetic oil changed every 5k miles with the filter will exceed your engine's requirements. No MLM Amsoil needed!! 3rd generation mechanic and engine builder.
Both of these oils arent that great sorry to tell you.....a lot depends on what u drive if u drive nissan id go with Motul or redline way better than these 2 oils and if you are driving a car with a flat tappet cam Valvoline Vr racing takes it away and ferrari Shell Helix Ultra so to be honest nothing special about these brands I prefer Castrol full synthetic as i noticed engines run quieter than using mobil or amsoil
People use Amsoil based on tests well i base it on how does in an engine any oil can do well in tests put it in certain engines that do crap with this oil the lab tests mean nothing lol its called do an oil change and u wont have problems with any oil
@@michealettinger1862 The problem with that is ExxonMobil can easily spend more than all of what amsoil is worth JUST on product research and development, also Mobil 1 was first introduced a half century ago in 1974 and constantly upgraded. this was more like a ad for Amsoil
Ya, there was nothing of use here.
Nothing good said about Mobil One huh?
I run Amsoil best oil
I like mobil 1 and valvoline....i use mobil 1 in both my GM vehicles.
Hi bro Mobil 1 goodjob???
So this is an amsoil is better than Mobil 1 type oil comparison. I’ll stick with what GM wants in there engines.
They both meet and or exceed GM Dexos specs so....
Mobil 1 is good but not better than AMSOIL.
SiperTech for the win
Wow no real information. I got baited into clicking the video.
Amsoil is just one huge hype!!!! I switched Valvoline!
Not even close! It’s a much better oil. Cost is high though.

Valvoline is a superior oil
NAPA store brand oil is made by Valvoline.
Which Valvoline blend? Big difference across any single brands range
Aramco Saudi Valvoline oil co. you mean?
Nobody cares about TBN anymore.
Amsoil is not recommended for northern cold winters. It was never even discussed in this video
Why not? They sell all the same weights.
