    This was by far the most informative polishing video. Explains exactly what pads to use, how to consider them, how to prime them, what polishing compound to use, how to prime the surface, the working space & what all this actually does to what types of paints.
    There was no way to get confused on anything.
    Good job man!

    These are the videos you need to be posting. Detailed explanations on how the products work and how to use them. The only thing I would recommend is to show before and after shots or 50/50 shots to really show if the product works! Other than that, awesome vid and keep up the good work!

    Great video 👍 How often is recommended to blow off the pad or clean of excess residue from the pad? Is there a visual que that is obvious or maybe after 2-3 panels?

      Hi Andrew! Every vehicle is different, it may be every few panels or at the end of the job depending on how much material is removed.

    Hi. Do this pads to remove oxidation on brass or copper metals?

  • @Langor
    @Langor 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    normally though, wouldn't one go to a heavier compound if the lighter one wasn't able to remove the deeper scratches and then move your way back up to a lighter abrasive? isn't the idea to try to get rid of all the scratches if possible?
    thanks

    Good job but what about the speed. Is it the same with compounding as it is with polishing or finishing

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Michael! That's correct, use the same speed setting and process when using compound and/or polish.

    • @michaelwhitfield609
      @michaelwhitfield609 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChemicalGuys yes I got that n thankyou but I was referring to the speed across the panel. When polishing are you going across the panel slower or faster seeing that your now polishing rather than compounding.

    Can I use this black microfiber pad for sealant like the EXTREME TOP COAT CARNAUBA WAX AND SEALANT IN ONE?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, good question. Yes, Black Quantum Finishing Pads have no cut, and are perfect for spreading final sealant and wax coats over painted finishes. Use the Black Quantum Pad to spread the perfect coat of cream sealants and waxes over freshly-polished paint finishes. Check out the chart below to see all color pads and what they are used for. Thanks for being part of the Chemical Guys family, Sam, and stay tuned for more videos coming your way soon!

      Hi but I want to know if the black microfiber pad can be used to spread sealant and glaze? The reason is that I bought a black pad microfiber instead.

      @ChemicalGuys  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Black Optics Microfiber Pads are intended for use to compound and polish paint to remove swirls and scratches, and to refine a glossy shine. They are not intended for spreading glaze, sealant, or wax. To spread glaze, sealant, or wax with your Dual Action polisher, choose either the Blue, Black, or Red Hex-Logic Finishing Pad. Do not spread glaze, sealant, or wax with a Rotary Polisher.

    Hi Chemical guys , I'm new to the scene and I'm wondering something. IS it possible to just do the areas that have deeper scratches with the microfiber pad until they're corrected enough followed up by the first step of foam polishing the car completely?

    • @RJ.................
      @RJ................. 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure exactly what you're talkingabout do you mean you're going to do a one step polish on the whole car but just focus really hard on the spots that have scratches? If this is what you mean then yes you can do that but the spots that you really focused on to remove the deep scratches is going to look perfect but around it you're still going to be able to see light swirls

    what product are safe to apply with a rotary orbital polisher?

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Ana, good question. VSS, the complete V Line series, and V4 AIO all can be applied with a rotary. However, you don't ever want to apply a glaze, sealant, or wax with a rotary. Only use a DA machine to apply glaze, sealant, or wax. Thanks for watching, Ana, and stay tuned for a new video headed your way tomorrow!

    if you were doing the whole car would you do the whole car with the first pad and cutting compound first, then change pads and use finishing compound and do whole car again? i guess you would else you would be changing pads every 10 minutes

    Would you touch up spots like that if you have wax on the car? I want to touch up the trunk of my Mustang, but dont want to have to strip it then polish, add black light and Jet Seal + wax it if I dont have to

    • @ItsRyan.

      If you use a compound or polish it's going to remove any protection you already have on. you will have to re apply it once done. if you don't wanna do it now wait until you are doing the full car again, do a full decon correct the parts you need to then protect the full car again

    Can these specific compounds made for Micro Fiber pad's be use with Foam pad's as well? Thanks again.

    • @ChemicalGuys
      @ChemicalGuys  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello there, thanks for watching. The microfiber pad is just another type of polishing pad. Foam pads are used more than any other kind pad in paint correction. Compounds can be used on either pad. The microfiber pad replaced the wool pad that was used in the earlier days. The microfiber pad is considered very aggressive because of the heat and friction it generates. You can definitely polish and compound using both types of pads (Foam and Microfiber).

      Hey buddy, just use some of our pad cleaner with a scrubbing brush, or you can use a pad washer that contains a grit guard. Here's a link to a video that you will find useful.

    Do microfiber pad heat up as foam pads

    • @STILLNIGHTPEARL
      @STILLNIGHTPEARL 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      alanperalta61 yes, all pads heat up, especially with rotary and longthrow polishers. A microfiber pad is essentially a foam pad with microfiber glued onto it.

      It's just foam "dust" that occurs from manufacturing.
      When you get a new pad, put it on the tool, turn it on to a lower speed, and use a pad conditioning brush to get the dust out of the pad.
