    Every time he's working on the hood, my mind is blown because I keep seeing the reflection of the ceiling line and thinking that's the separation between the part he is working on and the part he hasn't started.

      Problem will be to pick some one , some place to do it. How do we know they will do all they say they will? We have to trust them, as there is NO way we can know whether they did all the steps in a complete manner....whether they put 2 coats of ceramic, or the 7 coats we paid for. I am absolutely willing to pay for a professional's time, so will stay away from the really cheap guys.....but, I don't want to get ripped off too. What to do ?

    Hope you are doing good. This video is really motivating for a car loving person. My question for you is How long a ceramic coating last on the car paint surface with its glossy and shiny look in term of days,weeks, months or years??
    Looking forward for your answer.

    • @TomDoesDetails
      @TomDoesDetails  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, so it all depends on how well you maintain it. If you are washing it properly with a ph balanced soap and using a ceramic topper it can last for years. The car will of course still get dirty but after washing it will have the shine and gloss again.

    Hi, excellent video and very detailed 😊 one of the best videos I've seen on it. BTW is it possible to do the full job over a course of a few days, ie compound a panel or two a day and also same with polishing and maybe wash it again the following day before starting the next panel or does it have to all be done in one go?

    • @TomDoesDetails
      @TomDoesDetails  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      TheGmiah Thank you and that’s a really good question. I’ve actually never done that before but it’s probably best to complete it all same time so you have consistent correction throughout. However if you aren’t going to drive the car and it’s going to stay in a garage I don’t see why not. Maybe just use an IPA to re prep the panels.

    My car has like a layer of wax or dust accumulation in the roof and the front what can I do I need it te paint or is just a cleaning issue because the rest is shiny but the front is not and is opaque if you have any tips I’ll be in debt with you! I need help help help!

    • @TomDoesDetails
      @TomDoesDetails  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, so if its really wax or dust you can wash it using a strip wash. (it will help get rid of any wax on the car). Then I would clay bar the car and finally polish it if needed. If the clear coat is failing then yes you will need to repaint. Hope this helps. Good luck

    Can you please make a video on how to distinguish between a cutting pad, polishing pad & finishing pad ?
    I bought some pads online & now I'm confused

    • @TomDoesDetails
      @TomDoesDetails  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They usually are differentiated by color. Cutting pads tend to be orange, polishing white and finishing black. Cutting pads are also a little more firm while finishing pads are much softer. Hope this helps.
