I just purchased my 550i and I’ve heard the same thing. This is normal absolutely not so thank you for the needed information. Definitely informative to all BMW owners or anybody who’s vehicle has been sounding horrible
I think it's worth mentioning that BMW pads are organic material and adept well even to old rotors(brake discs in UK) so if you should live far from a BMW garage and have to use another independent garage. Make use you are sure to tell them you what OE ORGANIC pads and that they don't try and sell you other material type pads often those when squeal, even after being bedded in. plus those garages need to clean and grease the calipers proper, prior to new pads.
Are you saying we should clean and grease up the calipers before replacing the rotors ???my 16" 340i started doing this squeaky sound when rolling at idle or 30-40 mph after sitting in a body shop for around 3 months,i live in new mexico so my rims and suspension is full of sand i was told not to wash it so i wouldn't damage the fresh paint im thinking on removing the wheels and detailing it hopefully that fixes it...is there anything else you could recommend doing before buying new rotors ?
I've changed my discs and pads on my F30 335d and still screeching? I changed them with ATE discs and Brembo pads... could it be they still screeching for using non genuine parts? Or does my rotors need to changed as well
I'm not 100% sure, it could be the rotors or it could just be that your brakes are just noisy period. I hear it's a common thing with performance brakes. I would try to reach out to others that have installed those same brakes. Good luck!
I got an issue with my 440i with OEM M Sport brakes Its fairly new, total of 55k on the clock and the pads still have 10K miles left on them but absolutely squeal each time I come to a stop 10-0mph I took it to BMW only yesterday, they said no point changing pads and rotors as the squeal will just come back and I just have to live with the noise! Apparently it’s a manufacturing defect and during city braking a lip forms which causes the squeal.
@@Powaup Nope, the bearings Are Very Okay . with no damage or air . I have the Peugeot 406 Coupe with the original Brembo calipers on it . I have this problem since 2015 , after i changed the discs and pads. I have used some solution with stronger pad springs , But Not enough effect. I have also installed graffite rods into the pads, but also with no effect . Changed the pads with 7 different manufacturers , but - not much effect.
Acura Rl got brakes done and rotors resurfaced first few days Ceramic brakes started to squeak loudly and it’s just annoying any advice rotors are good and brake pads are good aswell

My 2023 X7 started making this sound last night. Only has 2k miles. Bringing it in to service but temperature dropped to 20 below zero so I’m assuming it’s weather related
HI Powaup , i replaced the pads and brake disks on my e90 320d, they needed a change anyway, i am getting a squeal from them still, even after a thousand miles of driving, ive even used brembo brake grease on the back of the pads ware the caliper meets, any suggestions on this , thanks
I was struggle w this problem too, my car makes squealing noise when I press on the break to stop at low speed, I bring my car to the dealer to maintain and fix it, but 3 times they say the same thing that is the break is normal. The noise come from the back if I correct.
After watching so many videos urs has the same exact sound and problem with mines except mines is when reversing. Got my x3 6/21 and within 4 months it was squealing wtf. Brought it to BMW 1/22 they said nothing wrong etc and blamed it on the rain and the way I’m breaking. He said I have to press on the breaks firmly and acknowledged that it’s the material they use and it will only get worse ??? and it did it squealed morning lunch dinner whenever I’m slow reversing firm break soft break went 6/08/22 and it squealed when the they reversed it and on the invoiced says confirmed and acknowledged but everything checked out so no work done on the sound. Again, advised to press on break firmly and sound will get worse????im fuming 😡 text my sales guy basically told him he sold me a defective car. He called me in minutes and will call his foreman for the issue. Foreman called and he acknowledged it’s a common complaint etc and now they blamed my low miles and not driving the car too much. I drive it almost everyday to work Mayb not 30-40 miles but shit this is bs. I told the foreman about ur problem and pointed out to maybe it’s the rotator and pads??? I said hey I should’ve be researching on the problem and solving the problem. The fkn car is over $60k brand new wtf! He said they understood my frustration. They said bring in in we’ll take a part the parts etc but keep in mind the problem may not be solved? I told him hey I want this noted…this better not be a scam where you’ll finally find the cause when the warranty runs then you’ll charge me coz…he said yes for sure 100% we will not! it’s evident that your company using materials that’s problematic and issue was acknowledged yet you continue to deny the problem. I also told him they’re service dept sucks! Never dealt with shit like this across the street-Benz. I wanted a change so I crossed the street and went to the dark side and this is what I got! 😩
Sheeesh! I hear you! And I’m crossing my fingers they do right by you. It is NOT normal for any car to sound like a freight train. If they won’t help you, hit you a different dealership
I have this problem and bmw says it’s normal and won’t fix it. My car isn’t under warranty. Did you get them to cover the replacement cost or did you have to pay for everything yourself ?
it has to do with driving style. how hard you break when stopping. you grind the pads into the rotors excessively. so if you are a punch the gas and break hard kinda guy, you'll see this happen more often.
@@Powaup mine either. I live in a tiny beach town the speed limit is 25-35mph so definitely not driving wild lol. It's just back brakes that squeal so loud on mine. They were replaced 5 months ago.
I'm very light on the brakes and they started making noises. I checked the pads and dics, all good. I then went out for a drive and went really hard on the brakes, which seemed to clean up the rotors and pads and helped sort out the problem.
The solution is 3.09. This 7min 47 sec video could be reduced to 3 seconds between 3.09 and 3.12.

same here, did you find a solution?

@@Powaup brake fluid ?? not sure just guessing
I'm doing mine right now myself. if your rotors can't be resurfaced, that usually means the rotors need to go . Glad you got it taken care of.
RexGaming didn’t think of resurfacing the rotors good call!
OEM Rotors, OEM Brake pads are the best way to go.
When you had the rotors succesfully replaced and the issue fixed, was it all four of them that you replaced? Or only the front two? Ty for your help.
It was all four
Just wait until it goes out again :(

I had the OEM rear rotors and pads done and the squealing stopped. Idk if this will work for everyone else but you can give it a try
