    Not a bad deal considering everything you got in it. A Coyote the way you want it, beefed up a bit. I would pay the same to put a Coyote in my 68, but that means a lot more work just to get it road ready so you having a base that could handle that conversion with some work is not bad at all. Im looking at doing this one day on my 68, but for now I wanted a Coyote powered Stang so got myself a 2012 GT/ CS. Ive had my 68 since 99 and ever since I saw the 05 concept I fell inlove, but decided I would take the dive now. Instead of just waiting in which life will keep making you wait unless you jump on it

    • @tsbperformance1531
      @tsbperformance1531  ปีที่แล้ว

      A coyote in a 68 mustang would be awesome! The new 7.3 Godzilla engine they came out with would be cool to swap into something also. Might do that as a future project for the channel.

    Another solid option is build the tr3650 5 speed. They can be built for about 1000 bucks pretty strong and it bolts right to the coyote and its lighter than the t56 so that is another good option. I do like the t56 tho it's nice having that "in between" gear that 5th becomes in the 6 speed. It's particularly nice when you're running 4.10 gears you got that extra gear between your 1:1 and your OD.

    • @tsbperformance1531
      @tsbperformance1531  ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely true I just switched to the t56 because I had a t45 which is harder to find parts to build them to be strong.

  • @midnight347
    @midnight347 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Also another note about the coyote brenspeed did a "high mile coyote" build the car had 165k miles on it they tore it down to upgrade it and it was basically prestine inside and didn't even need anything they was just tearing it down to upgrade stuff but that just goes to show how awesome the coyote motors are and that even with higher miles they can look good inside the motor if taken care of (not saying yours has higher miles I'm just saying). Awesome car!

    • @tsbperformance1531
      @tsbperformance1531  ปีที่แล้ว

      It definitely depends on how someone took care of it. Some people extend oil changes way too long and they get like a varnish on them. And some engines look brand new inside at 200k.

    As far as I know, the cheapest way to get a coyote is an F150 coyote, which usually cost about half of what a Mustang coyote costs, but you'll have to put Mustang cams in them to get them to make power. Its more work, but its cheaper.

    • @tsbperformance1531

    While the coyote is a great platform it’s still not a good cost to power ratio. U can boost the 2v with fuel system, rods pistons and make more. That’s just me tho. But clean build sir.

    • @tsbperformance1531
      @tsbperformance1531  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It's a big debate but honestly to make a 4.6 stock make 450 wheel you're already looking at the cost of a coyote. Then to have it make power capable of close to 1000 hp you're talking even more money. Most of what I did the t56, fuel system, Holley, tubular k member etc didn't correlate with the coyote specifically. They would've been things that would've been done if i went big power on a 4.6 anyways. I'm throwing a turbo kit on this one and if ever wanted to drop the 1500 bucks to forge the bottom end your talking hp numbers that the 4.6 wouldn't be reliable at. No hate I appreciate the food for thought.

    • @jessefrias2575

      😂😂😂😂 so basically boost and a build a 2v just to make what a basic bolt on coyote makes?? Yes ive had boosted 2v’s its a fun car boosted but no where near what a coyote motor can do especially when you throw it in a light chasis like the new edge

    • @Jsta2v_racing

      @@jessefrias2575 if u read my comment and actually took it in, you would understand. He spent over 20 k. For little over 400hp. Drop that into the 2v and u gonna make more then that. Rods pistons boost and the fuel system, ur making more then a coyote. The coyote has more potential but u still have to boost that as well 🤦‍♂️. The weak point with the 2vs are the rods and pistons

    Way too expensive to do a Coyote swap and way to many support parts to make it work right.I already have the Tfs heads and cams on my 02 gears , frame connectors ect ect. I would recommend to a 2V owner, heads cams and a Kenne Bell if you want serious power and it’s waaaaay easier and less costly.

    • @tsbperformance1531
      @tsbperformance1531  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Except that's only gonna get you to around 450 wheel and that's it for the 4.6's bottom end then it's time to build and spend more money. A lot of the modifications I did to this car don't directly correlate to the coyote swap and are more of an upgrade you would do to the 4.6 anyways to get to that power. Tubular subframe same as a 4.6 if you want to save weight, t56 same thing you'll need for a 4.6 if you want to handle power, fuel system same thing if you want more than 400 wheel, etc. You can do this swap much cheaper I just chose to upgrade the car while I'm at it. The car was a pro charged 4.6 and wasn't impressive to say the least. Spent more time broken then on the road.

    22k for a swap where you can get a mustang with a coyote already doesn't make financial sense.
