    I find it interesting that everyone is so shocked that a number of men in positions of power felt entitled enough to whip out their wieners in front of women they were attempting to coerce into sex. As a woman in her 40's I am not shocked at all. As a teen and woman it is par for the course that some men (small contingency) behave like predators. I am pleasantly surprised that society has finally said "enough!".

      The Noble and Mighty Beaver I barely find it appropriate to flash myself my own penis, and I'm a gay guy so dicks are kinda my thing. Lol

    • @ASMRyouVEGANyet
      @ASMRyouVEGANyet 7 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Eddie Panedi ok you've overdosed on your red pills. no one is denying that there are decent men who DON'T go around flashing their dicks, etc.
      But sexual harrasment and assault does happen and women are tired of it. It might happen to men, but the majority of cases are done to women by men. I've had men grope me and flash their dicks, corner me and feel me up. It's disgusting. So, THOSE GUYS are the ones we're fed up with.
      But you're just looking for reasons to hate on women. So a few women have done you dirty. You just have to move on and start over. The whole MGTOW stupidity is just going to result in a bunch of lonely, angry men whom the rest of the world leave behind. Have fun with that.

      Fariz - Report them for what Fariz? Ass grabbing has only become an offence the police or companies will investigate in the last couple of years. Being a creep is still not illegal, it may constitute as harassment which you can only do something about if it happens to be someone you work with.
      What do you think, until this year women were fine with being creeped on, touched and having t look at unsolicited genitals? The answer is no. Before now there was literally nothing you could do about it formally. You avoid the dude the best you can and give the other women a heads up.
      Please look up the term "victim blaming".

      I’ve seen him get flustered & nearly blush when sex stuff is brought up at all. He’s super Catholic. Like some of my favorite aunts and uncles and cousins. Socially progressive in many ways. Old fashioned or uptight in others.
      I don’t know why but it’s cute to me that it always makes him seem vulnerable in an instant. He’s a huge star & still giggles nervously if any female guest jokingly flirts with him.
      I imagine he’d turn gray-faced & flee the building if any of them non-jokingly tried, though.

Apart from the monologue it's the ONLY thing they need to do during the day (and they get paid millions for it). "We get to be invisible and fly" Wonder Woman can fly (or pretty close to it) and has an invisible jet. She's also immortal, has super human strength, speed, reflexes etc, is an amazon warrior, super intelligent, fluent in multiple languages and is one of the most powerful and badass superheroes in DC comics, male or female. The Lasso just happens to be one of her weapons, which is a pretty effective tool for interrogation.

    • @Heathcoatman
      @Heathcoatman 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It was a joke, not an attack on all you hold sacred. You are supposed to read and enjoy comic books, not act like they are real.

    • @heinleinreader
      @heinleinreader 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wonder Woman cannot fly, she can jump high and far. The invisibility thing is an inherent trait of her jet, not a power of hers. And she is not invulnerable to harm. She can be killed, just as Thor can, or Hercules, or Odin, or Vishnu or any god. And this lady is correct. The villain is already telling you what he is doing. The Golden Lasso is useless in virtually all situations as far as being a hero is concerned. Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, is a far better example of a badass woman hero. Yet when she DARES to best men in feats of strength and other male dominated areas, suddenly we wind up with a slew of critical comments about the actress herself for daring to stand up for the right of a woman to be in control of her own life to express the desire for the same level of self-determination that men are afforded without a thought. Carol Danvers has a strong friendship with a single mother and her daughter, and people start tossing around the labels, like calling her a "dyke" or something. Guess what? There are many women that have extremely close friendships without it being sexualized. The fact that you cannot imagine such a thing says quite a bit about you, and none of it good, I'm sorry to tell you.

  • @goblinounours
    @goblinounours 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Her bit where she goes "have my baby have my baby" (@ 6:12 ) was cringe-worthy to me.
    I'll admit that Wonder-woman has almost always been portrayed with a very skimpy costume (even the early versions, at the times, must've been considered too revealing).
    However, her power is not the Lasso-of-Truth. She has great strength, she can either fly or can make super-jumps (not sure, there) and as far as I know, she's basically immortal.
    Then she has her arm-bands that can deflect pretty much anything, even a full charger of AK47... In the movie, we see her do some kind of shockwave by clashing her sword on her shield...
    All of that sounds pretty badass to me.

    I suppose it was funny, but lasso is far from the only power she has. It’s like saying Batman has no powers. Maybe they both aren’t aliens and weren’t struck by lightning, but they are badass fighters and are really good at it. So good, they can take down almost everyone with supernatural powers. So you should probably rethink that.

      @Eddy Panedi - You really have a prejudice against women.

    • @Amberpawn
      @Amberpawn 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Eddy Panedi - Well now... Let's start with... Don't ever compromise on your expectations. Get what you want and don't settle for something less than you want in a partner. If you find out you want something else... find someone else, but be honest about that. You aren't owed anything but life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and those are coming up in shorter supply these days. Find someone who's agreeable and whose company you enjoy mutually with them. If someone doesn't want you for any reason whatsoever then they aren't worth your time or your effort. Get off your alpha/beta/gamma syndrome. Most people don't want someone who tells them what to do. They have parents that they do or don't listen to for that and the whole philosophical nonsense of the wolf pack mentality is garbage. The 'alphas' of a wolf pack are a breeding pair and everyone below them in the pack is one of their offspring. Stop believing lies that reaffirm your world view. If you haven't or can't find someone the problem isn't them. The problem is you and the way you are going about the process. Finally any woman that hates men, really, honestly, truly, is in the minority not the majority. The ones that do, likely have an awfully good reason due to either generations of oppression, acts taken against them personally, or most likely a combination of both... because men have been brought up in this world being told they are entitled to certain things. They have to work for those things... but that they get a reward for the world that is taking them over the barrel out back. You don't get a reward. You get a sore hole. If you have this much hate against women, odds are you have a sore hole... likely from bullies taking advantage of you or because you like most men were lied to about what the world was going to be. So before you start throwing stones.. remember... just because you got taken hard... doesn't mean you get to give it hard. Stop the cycle. Be a person and not one of the mob of people.

But I want to see more of her now--I suspect she can get really hilarious with the right atmosphere.

    I think of my grandparents generation and my great-grandparents generation, and how the further back in time you go the less technology there was, the more people stayed in one place for longer periods of time, and, most of all, how conservative people were categorically. Notions like etiquette, politeness, respect, and courtesy were more highly valued and were likely more prevalent than today. In other words, sexual harassment trends increased over time. I can't help but wonder if there isn't a correlation between sexual harassment and women's lib. Yet modern feminists claim sexual harassment goes back centuries. Were they around 200 years ago to now make such claims? Do they have statistical data they're not sharing with the rest of us?

What matters is the story you tell. There's potential for great stories with WW because you have all of Greek Mythology to work with. So, earlier, I left a comment about how there's more to Wonder Woman as a hero and fighter than just her lasso, and that Virginia Wolf isn't funny. And a lot of the replies basically amounted to calling me triggered, anti-feminist fanboy.
    For one, the intent of my comment was pointing out an example of lazy comedy. Yes, on it's own, the lasso is lame. But if you even take a look, it's obvious she has a lot more than that. I'm not even a DC fan, it just that those kind of jokes really irritate me.
    For two, not liking a particular female comedian is not sexist or anti-feminist.
    Female comedians I like: Amy Poehler, Melissa McCarthy, Lisa Lampanelli, Jessica Williams
    Female comedians I don't like: Virgina Wolf, the rest doesn't matter, I've made my point.

    daughter of the quin of Amazons - women who are created by the gods to be fearless and strong warriors - and the Zeus himself (kinda), one of the best warriors among a tribe of warriors, the next quin of Amazons (after her mother), with amazing physical powers, stamina, and agility that ables her to fight along side Superman and be of great help, and many more that I'm sure I'm not aware of cause I'm not a comic book reader... but yeah, a quin warrior that her and her tribe were created by gods and who has defeated a god (Ares, god of war) with amazing stuff like her bracelets, her sword, and her invisible plane, is LAME, not because she also has a lasso of truth (which apparently is not cool and useful because it makes you obey the wielder of the lasso and tell the truth), but because Ms. Wolf didn't have any material and thought to herself "I'll just do that thing were a comedian makes a controversial remark but takes an interesting route to get there and it'll be fun and funny and we'll laugh at the inconsistencies and the irony," but forgot the part that it has to be not a stupid stand and actually be factually correct and logical.
    I would like nothing more if she was to recognize the potential she has and stops with this stupid kinds of half-assed bits and becomes a very awesome comedian.

I actually love that she isn't all powerful like Superman, and manages to be a superhero without 'super' powers. I'm not a DC fan so I'm not familiar with the comic book canon, but Wonder Woman seems like a great heroine and role-model. Maybe the problem is the lack of variety is female superheroes?
