Well said, Stephen. I thought Michelle Wolf's monologue at the WHCD was spot on. She hit every target she took aim at. For the "offended parties" I have this to say: if the shoe fits, wear it. To the "spokes people" and "media types": if you can dish it out, you'd better be able to take it in. You elevated him, you gave him a platform, you continue to prop him up and you have, over time, normalized the diminishing of every institution and the highest office itself. ....when Michelle W. held that mirror up before you, what did you expect to see?! Don't complain about "ugly" or "distasteful". Don't you dare!

The best part of Wolf's monologue was when she called out the press for secretly loving the monster they bulked up in Trump because he makes them money. It was glorious. It was like somebody calling out Victor Frankenstein: "You call your creation an abomination but it's clear you loved bringing him to life because science is the only thing that gets you off". And the fact that the room fell silent during that bit said it all. Bravo, Michelle.

I'm tired of fair-weathered politically correctness. There are too many people in mainstream media and the Press who continue to keep quiet about Trump's vulgarity. However they have no problem expressing their opinions about Michelle Wolf. I wonder if she is receiving so much scrutiny over her performance because of her gender. I recall many WHCD presenters making jokes and puns to everyone in the room on both sides of the political spectrum and everyone in between.
With Trump it became normal. There was far more outrage at first, it was news for days each time he said something. Now we just accept he lacks any wit, self-awareness, decency, or intellectual honesty. Obama saw people marching with signs with him, his wife, his children depicted as monkeys and yet, he didnt whine about it on twitter or cry about it to MSNBC. He showed up to Correspondence Dinners and laughed at his own expense. Trump couldnt handle that even as a spectator during Meyers' routine, so much so that he complained about it again over the weekend (despite that routine being 7 years ago now). The reality is, most people, Wolf included, are now held to a higher standard than the President because that bar was lowered to accommodate Trump.
I often wonder how many voters in the US did the same to Hillary because of her gender. "A WOMAN? Hell, no. I'd sooner vote for a cultist under the employ of Cthulhu than a gosh dern woman!"

Wolfs delivery cadence was off, a bunch of cringe worthy jokes but I still laughed way more than anything else. I'm surprised they are trying so hard to spin a narrative that she was somehow attacking the physical appearance of Huckabee nah she was just telling jokes about her being a liar get over it
There was another joke about Sarah that compared her to Aunt Lydia in the handmaids tale. That’s the other joke that people are saying was insulting to her appearance. That one is a bit more easy to understand why people would take it that way but if you thought about it a bit more or knew the story it was clearly a reference to the characters personality and role that she played in that story and had nothing to do with comparing her appearance.

I have to agree, the crowd wasn't feeling her and it threw her off. She was a bit nervous and abrupt, and didn't set a good mood. That's the only reason why she's in anyone's sights right now imo. Her material was fine, some of it genius.
