I love how easily she talks about her parents and her career. She seems proud of herself and her life but without arrogance. Confident but relaxed. Love her and wish she was winning more awards!
I feel exactly the same way about Isabella. I have always loved her. Her love for her parents, she is obviously touched by the applause for her mother and father. They were brilliant artists and they have not been forgotten. She is such an interesting woman!
Isabella is such a classic and talented actress in her own right. What an intelligent, beautiful, and humorous woman she is. Absolutely adore her. So cool she went back to school to study animals, that's very inspiring. Thanks for having her on. Please invite her back maybe bring some animals with her! :D
I know right?!! Everybody always says her voice and accent is so unique, they’ve never heard the likes of it before but common, she sounds EXACTLY like her mother.
We of a certain age know what you are talking about and holy moly, she does sound EXACTLY like her mother. Not surprising, my son sounds exactly like me and I sound exactly like my father.
Loved Isabella since first saw her in Cousins and she has never disappointed in any performance but mostly she seems such a lovely and interesting human. Thank you!
Taking the words straight from my heart. Ty. One of the special people, not seen everyday. Thank Creator for Colbert and others. I'll need them more than ever,in time to come. Islands of sanity in a sea of morons.
Good Lord, I've had the biggest crush on Isabella Rossellini since I first saw her in my older sister's fashion magazines back in the 70's She's 10 years older than me, but all through the years every time I've seen her in a movie or on television, my heart raced a little faster. They say beauty ages with you. Man, it's so true. She is just as gorgeous now as I thought she was every decade I've seen her. Guess at 62, I'm still crushing hard ❤
OMgoodness, she is just so charming and beautiful, inside and out. She is one of the few children of two very famous parents who is just as amazing as they were. I'm 82 so I remember when she was born and followed her parents throughout their years. You could sit for hours and listen to her amazing stories and history. My guess for her appearance is, of course, to push the movie, but I also see it as a wake-up call to those Oscar voters out there. And this is one of those performances that cry out for an Oscar nod. She goes completely bare-faced, age and all, and yet she is still so very beautiful.
'My mum was Ingrid Bergman, a wonderful actress'. That's an extraordinary statement, at least to my mind. Not because her mum was Ingrid Bergman, but because she is still willing to give context: 'Ingrid Bergman, in case you don't know her, a wonderful actress'.
I'm glad you made this video, I can recall when I was homeless and faced with many things in Life until $75,000 biweekly began rolling in and my Life went from A homeless nobody to a different person with good things to offer!!!!!❤
She is so wonderful! Such a beautiful combination of Sweden and Italy. I loved her in Fearless with Jeff Bridges and Rosie Perez. Cannot wait to see Conclave! ❤
I was a bit hesitant about a 'religious' movie, but its more about the relationships and politics of all the Cardinals. And Isabella rocks the nun role. A VERY good movie!
Her mothers biography is one of the best reads I've done. I think it was simply called "Ingrid", I read it 35 yrs ago and it's still stayed in my head as a brilliant example of a strong woman💜
They terminated her contract when she was in her late 30s or early 40s, replaced her with a much younger Inés Sastre, then hired her again in her mid or late 50s.
Personal story: In my early twenties, (1980’s) I was an assistant art director for CRK Advertising ( fashion designer Calvin Klein). My boss (R Udell) brought me with her, to interview Isabella as a future model for Calvin. I can attest to what, Isabella told Stephen about denying her ambitions as an actress. When asked by my boss, if besides modeling, would she act….. Isabella got very flustered, and replied,”Oh no, there can be only one actress in my family.” It is a great gift to the world of cinema, that afterwards she chose otherwise. ☺️
In the 80s I was a flight attendant and she was on one of my flights, her children were a bit rambunctious so I took her to her seat, gave her champagne then took her children on a tour of the plane even taking them in the cockpit where the met the captain and got to sit in his seat . . . She was very lovely and very sweet
Smart, talented, graceful, and genuine. An inspirational goddess. Even her name has poetic cadence, “E-Sah-Bellah Rroh-Sah-Leenee”. Just trips off one’s tongue like sweet, sweet honey!
It's really interesting to hear her have a little bit of a swedish twang in her English, like in 2:12 especially in the word "authority". She's said she doesn't speak Swedish but I guess the way her mom spoke had a big influence on her accent. Can't wait to see her new movie!
@@m4tr4s1 Ddefinitely not like a native speaker would have but I do hear words here and there with some Swedish influence. Overall interesting accent as it's kind of a mixture of different things.
She defintely has a Swedish twang in her English even though she hasn't spent much time in Sweden. A mixture of Italian and Swedish. She picked up her mother's accent. The Swedish melody is clear.
Stanley Tucci's recipes are wonderful. Isabella Rossellini got so deeply into her role that I didn't realize until later that it had been she who was playing the role
Isabella is so beautiful and a hypnotic storyteller. She's so proud of her parents not for their fame but for the little endearing things that show they are normal people same as everyone as well. Laughter and humor oozes out of her like honey. Everyone likes her for movies like Blue Velvet or Death Becomes Her, but she was an extreme delight for me in her Green Porno series.
Maternal grandmother was German (both Ingrid and Isabella look like her, they don't really look Swedish at all) maternal grandfather Swedish and father Italian. A very succesfull mixture. One of the most beautiful models ever.
Having 8 minutes of Isabella Rossellini is pure magic; I adore her mother and Cary Grant in Indiscreet and watch it often. Pure class passed down from her parents.
What an interesting conversation. She starts by telling the story of the nun and her mother following their clear callings as young women, then how her mother tempted her to become an actress with a small role as a 22 year old. She begins modeling simply because she was pretty and acting because her mother and family made that path accessible. But then in her 50's she finally followed her own calling to work with animals. I am in my 50's and can relate so much to this story. I won't go into the boring details, but it is interesting how parents, knowing that they have a calling in a profession, lead their children to follow their personal calling rather than supporting their children in finding their own.
I love how easily she talks about her parents and her career. She seems proud of herself and her life but without arrogance. Confident but relaxed. Love her and wish she was winning more awards!
Well, yes, to the world she was Ingrid Bergman, big MOVIE STAR. But to her daughter, Bergman was just "mom," a big deal yet not a big deal
This.... 🤙
I feel exactly the same way about Isabella. I have always loved her. Her love for her parents, she is obviously touched by the applause for her mother and father. They were brilliant artists and they have not been forgotten. She is such an interesting woman!
She is simply delightful and so authentic
How refreshing
Isabella Rossellini is the classic Italian aunt that all the nephews adore, in Italy we are very proud of her.
Always so wonderful on screen.
I think us Swedes are a little bit too. Ok, more so of her mom, but still…
As a non-Italian man who enjoyed listening to her, I suspect there is something universal about listening to this aunt!
@@cucinare-da-zeroYou're not even her species.
What a lovely person inside and out. She’s wonderful.
A classy actress that continues to age gracefully and respectfully --
She is so real. And therefore will always be beautiful. The best of Sweden and Italia. Sending my love from Pakistan
She is the embodiment of the word “delightful”
Yes. The other word that kept coming up for me was "innocence"....an unpretentious, unguardedness.....charming
What a delightful human being. ❤
My heart is literally pounding! It's like we still have Ingrid!!! But, with a touch of Roberto Rosselini! Divine!!
*we'll always have Paris.*
Gracious is a word that comes to mind seeing Isabella. It's a quality one doesn't see much anymore in people it seems.
What a delightful person and so full of joy ❤
What a lovely woman, so full of life and joie de vivre 🙂😊
I could listen to her voice all day.
She is simply the epitome of charming.
A high point in your career, Stephen. You should be most pleased to have such a person on your show.
I watched her growing up. When she tells you a story, I find myself just listening. I am glad she is still acting. God bless.
LOVE HER SO ELEGANT

Omg, her voice & her laugh & even her accent sounds EXACTLY like her iconic mom’s.
Her face as well. Literally look at any picture of Ingrid Bergman in her older days and Isabella is the splitting image of her mother.
I know right?!! Everybody always says her voice and accent is so unique, they’ve never heard the likes of it before but common, she sounds EXACTLY like her mother.
And those eyes! She has the same smile & sparkle as her mother.
We of a certain age know what you are talking about and holy moly, she does sound EXACTLY like her mother. Not surprising, my son sounds exactly like me and I sound exactly like my father.
I was just about to say that. I can hear Ingrid Bergman in Isabella’s voice.
Isabella , pleasantly upbeat.
Isabella is very much her mother’s daughter ❤
How beautiful and elegant Isabella Rossellini is. Every time I see her, it's like we have Ingrid Bergman back again.
So beautiful. I love her smile!
I have loved and admired Isabella since I first saw her in a Lancome ad in Vogue in the ‘80’s. Gorgeous, artistic, smart, and just cool!
Very artistic smart and edgy!
She's so bubbly, i adore her❤
Is there anything more infectious than her laugh and smile? She seems a lovely woman and always interesting to talk to.
I fell in love with this woman when she was in the movie "Death Becomes Her!" 😊❤
Isabella displays a master class in charm, while also seeming as genuine as a newborn. Nothing like some of the roles I have enjoyed seeing her play.
Loved Isabella since first saw her in Cousins and she has never disappointed in any performance but mostly she seems such a lovely and interesting human. Thank you!
One of my favorite films.

I recently saw that Cousins was on a streaming service and thought about rewatching it. Haven't seen it in decades. Wonder if it holds up.
@@Rachel-sv9pq I still enjoy watching it from time to time because it makes me laugh and cry with enough bittersweet quirkiness. ✨💕✌🏻⛵
I loved Cousins.
Isabella... such grace, class, elegance. An icon of beauty and cinema.

she was gorgeous in the movie 'death becomes her'...

I noticed that, as if we dont know the name, Ingrid Bergman!! Wow, humble!
What a lovely energy she has. I smile the entire time I am watching her!
She is Devine , could listen to her all day!
I love how she feels she has to explain who her parents were! modest and humble.
I love this lady!
She's so beautiful.

I'm feeling really motivated. Could you share some details about the bi-weekly topic you brought up?
Thanks to my co-worker whom God used to give a great opportunity of crossing paths with 'Mrs MARY MARGARET SCHIMWEG".
Wow 😱 I know her too! Miss Mary Margaret Schimweg is a remarkable individual whom has brought immense positivity and inspiration into my life.
I got started with a miserly $1500. The results have been mind blowing I must say TBH!!
Fascinating woman, fascinating life. I read her memoir from many years ago and I've loved her ever since.
She shines with an inner light. Lovely.
Yes!!
She is so wonderful! Such a beautiful combination of Sweden and Italy. I loved her in Fearless with Jeff Bridges and Rosie Perez. Cannot wait to see Conclave! ❤
Ty you for reminding me of that movie. One of my favorite roles for all involved. A beautiful, 2 hanky film.

Not only is she an ageless beauty and superb actress, she is also a genuinely good person.

She's ageing wonderfully, so elegant and beautiful.
Even though I think Lancome sacked her for ageism.
They terminated her contract when she was in her late 30s or early 40s, replaced her with a much younger Inés Sastre, then hired her again in her mid or late 50s.
Yes,that's true but I think they engaged her back again

She doesn't have any Swedish influence in her English and it was shocking that she pronounced her mother's name Bergman in German and not in Swedish.
@@m4tr4s1 Ddefinitely not like a native speaker would have but I do hear words here and there with some Swedish influence. Overall interesting accent as it's kind of a mixture of different things.

What an absolutely lovely person Isabella is.
Waooooooh, daughter of Ingrid Bergman. Her Mother I loved watching her films in the late eighty and early ninety when we were growing up. ❤
Isabella aged like a fine Italian wine paired with a plate of tasty Swedish meatballs.
What a beautiful LADY is Isabella Rossellini her background, both her parents are monuments in Cinema.
Believe she produced & appeared in centennial tribute docs. to each, MUST see them some day!
We love isabella rossellini
Living Legend !!!
Tilda Swinton and then Isabella Rossellini. Wonderful show tonight. ❤
She does NOT need to remind THIS old lady who her mother (looooove) and her father were. Isabella is one very cool and interesting human ❤
so much of her mother can be seen in and through her. lovely.

Stanley Tucci's recipes are wonderful. Isabella Rossellini got so deeply into her role that I didn't realize until later that it had been she who was playing the role
Aww my late mother in law used to see her ( Isabella) grocery shopping, and would have friendly banter out on Long Island.
Love her, loved this interview. Makes we want to see the film.
Wonderful interview! She's lovely.
She did Empress Josephine in both English and French. Simply Superb.
There seems to be a twinkle about her that I quite like.
