I get why Charles Martinet is loved but honestly, Lou Albano was my favorite voice actor for Mario.
You forgot one of Mario’s weird voices and the one in question is Bob Hoskins who played him in the 1993 Super Mario Bros movie
Well to quote Mario in responding to Luigi in the classic college humor skit "Luigi Finally Snaps" When Luigi asked Mario about that movie "I told you to never talk about that! It never happened!"

Excellent, EXCEPT I will say Kevin Afghani is NOT a pasta maestro. He uses head voice with no practically no chest voice, really limiting the already limited range of Mario. Martinet MASTERED this.

I loved your upbeat commentary here! You weren’t harsh on any of the actors and described them all with a lot of respect. Even when you criticised them, you did in a polite and humorous way. I hope many people can be inspired by your positivity and optimism, as you made several points about Kevin’s new voice that I feel the fanbase could take notes from. Great video overall!
There’s also Pat McBride who may be the first Mario voice actor as he played Mario in the Donkey Kong Kid Stuff Records.

The First Mario voice actor Is actually Harrie shore WHO voiced Mario in the live action donkey kong commerical And the live action donkey kong jr commerical those 2 were adventim in 1981 _ 1982

Whenever I think of Lou Albano or Walker Boone as Mario’s voice from the DiC cartoons, I don’t just think of them as from the DiC cartoons, I also think of them as the classic/retro Mario prior to Charles Martinet, like the Mario from the 80’s or early 90’s.
I imagine Mario would have both of these type of voices in the retro games on the NES and SNES. Same with Danny Wells or Tony Rosato as Luigi whenever I think of Classic/retro Luigi.
Most people would think of Charles Martinet for all Mario games before and after he filled the voice roles. But to me, I think of the voices from different eras of the games.

If my memory is correct mario speaks in the DOS version of mario is missing.
For some reason in my brain there was only ever Charles Martinet, so it was interesting to learn about the other voice actors! Also no shade to Ronald B. Ruben but he sounds incredibly stressed, like someone's holding a gun to his head 😂 great editing as usual!!

6:32 Regarding Nicholas Glaeser in Mario is Missing, I'm wondering if you looked for info in regards to the PC version of that game, because that version had voice acting in it, which wasn't the case on the other versions. That PC version is where the infamous Malleo and Weegee sprites originated from funnily enough.
Also I'm surprised you didn't mention Stevie Coyle before talking about Charles Martinet. He was the guy who along with Charles did the Real Time Mario performances at CES 1993. Since they had very similar voices, the both of them did back and forth shifts, and they did a good job imo. Stevie Coyle is also known to many as the one who brought Wario's joyful kind of villainous side at the time in those same Real Time motion capture experiences, where Charles was going for a grumpier, more meany Wario. In a way, the both of them were important foundations at building these characters, even if Coyle's involvement wasn't as big.
I didn’t check the PC version, and also I didn’t know that Stevie Coyle did the live performances too! I just assumed it was Charles. That’s really cool!

Charles is amazing.
One thing about Lou Albano. (if right). He's the only one that is actually from Italy and lived in NY. So that was perfect.
If you recreated every sound in Super Mario Galaxy with your voice, you might be able to turn it into a mod. A further step could be the dialogue noises and performing the entire soundtrack with your voice, i.e. a capella.
Either way, I’m interested.
I don’t trust my musical ability to replace the soundtrack lol, but I am looking into the mod idea. So far, it doesn’t seem like anyone has done it, but I’m open to the idea and researching it
@@mickerrific I wouldn’t really know how to replace the soundtrack either; I know very little about mods. I’m sure plenty of content creators would be able to help or advise you on it, though.
