I don’t understand why no one mentions the biggest lost opportunity with DeWanda Wise’s character: given that she had SUCH a good character arc, she should have been Ian Malcolm’s daughter, Kelly, all grown up. It would have given a lot more meaning as the various character paths came together. All they needed was a few lines written in between she and Jeff, as they all come together, at the end of the film: “Kelly?!” “Uh… (awkward smile) Hi dad.” “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!” “Long story…”
They are selling it as "The Epic Conclusion of the Jurassic Era"... It's not that at all. That the catalyst of the plot are genetically altered lobsters and the clone girl from the previous movie who no one cares about!? Is really stupid. And it all comes together to culminate in another New Park (Sorry, not park, Sanctuary) of dinosaurs... Again... In the end, the plot ends up being inconclusive and just like any other in the series. One of the worst things about this film, the non-existent character development and horrible dialogue. Jokes that fall flat in complete silence, weird cuts and bad editing and I couldn't believe the lack of creativity they had to make something interesting by putting all these characters together. I think Laura Dern was the only one who came to work. Because that's not Alan Grant or Ian Malcolm, that's Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum having nothing to say or do, but reluctantly standing on their marks, and saying their few poorly written lines of dialogue, especially Sam Neill... Perhaps is the most passable of the 'World' trilogy, because it's not an "update" of the original like the first JW, or it's not as stupid as Fallen Kingdom. But I still prefer the first JW over this one, because at least the dumb plot is simpler and makes more sense. My ranking would be: 6. Jurassic Park III ★ 5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ★½ 4. Jurassic World Dominion ★★ 3. Jurassic World ★★½ 2. The Lost World: Jurassic Park ★★★★ 1. Jurassic Park ★★★★★
No way you put Jurassic park 3 below fallen kingdom 😂 a movie about using a gun to use the indoraptor and where a little girl is praised for the death of who knows how much
@@seriousnesstv7902 If you look at the score I gave them, there isn't much difference... I only hate 3 the most, by the time Fallen Kingdom came out I didn't even care...
We do need a break from them but in 10 or so years I wouldn’t mind a remake of Jurassic Park. But on 2 big conditions. 1) Make the dinosaurs look as accurate as possible. That means make the raptors, T-Rex and all other dinosaurs that were feathered have feathers. Some people stupidly think that wouldn’t make them as scary as the would look if they were lizards but look at the Pyroraptor from Dominion and tell me that if you saw that in person that you wouldn’t be literally scared stiff. 2) Make the make the movie slightly more horror focused. The book makes the Raptors, T-Rex and Dilophosaurus’ truly terrifying. But at the same time don’t treat them like monsters, treat them like animals!
Wu stated in jw1 i think that dinosaurs arent 100% natural, and in the original, the gaps were filled with frog dna, therefore dinosaurs arent exactly accurate. Also jurassic park was released before the dinosaurs had feathers theory. They should only have accurate dinosaurs if it was like the prologue that didnt cut jwd for some odd reason
@@thedarkknight2221 but their still not technically pure. the purest the franchise will get would be like i said, the GOOD prologue that was cut from the movie. you could actually see feathers on the t rex, just not very clearly.
i want a gritty, accurate, well made series, even if its a remake of the original. Somethings just dont lend themselves well to the feature film format anymore. I think we have reached that point with Star Wars, and I feel we have also reached that point with the Jurassic franchise
I really enjoyed listening to this and I agree with most of it. Dominion was dreadful for me. The missed opportunities, weak, mess of a storyline and wasted actors make it unforgivable to me and coming after such a well plotted film like Top Gun Maverick made it seem worse. Even though I don’t like Fallen Kingdom, at least it had a plot I could follow, even if I didn’t like it and I did like some of the directing choices. It was at least trying to have some idea that dinosaurs were a threat. But both were weak and it’s a shame. For me it’s Jurassic Park, The Lost World, Jurassic World, Jurassic III, Fallen Kingdom, Dominion, but honestly I don’t need more than the first three in this ranking!
I agree, I would want more especially how this film ends. The Malta sequence and the Locust story really shows how interesting and imaginative this could go.
wow Kristian, it's been a couple of years since i unsubscribed from Collider and lost track of you... but it's sooooooo good and refreshing to see you away from that crowd where this is the best ever Jurassic Park movie ever, and everyone went to the opening and then saw it 5 more times... Good job with your own channel, sorry i was late to the party, but i'm realy enoying it! keep it up!
I’ve been waiting to watch this one and had to put it off until I finally watched Jurassic World Dominion yesterday. All very good points…I’m basically with Coy on that if you’re looking at this at face value, it passes for me like a C+. I thoroughly enjoyed the dinosaur action, it was great to see the legacy cast, and I love how all the hated characters from Fallen Kingdom were actually somehow redeemed. It was also cool to see Dodgson as the villain. Of course the movie had some major major plot holes and odd moments/editing that literally took me out of the movie at times, but overall, it passes for me and I enjoyed it. My ranking is just like Winston’s: 6. Fallen Kingdom 5. Jurassic Park 3 4. Dominion 3. Jurassic World 2. The Lost World 1. Jurassic Park
Dominion may not be as bad as Fallen Kingdom which was the one that went full Simple Jack screenplay/story wise, but it was overwrought, predictable, nonsensical "boring bad" bad. Very similar to Rise of Crapwalker (Abrams coming back like Trevorrow, and in many ways Trevorrow did the exact same as Abrams did with StarWars). Let JWorld Die. They won't but when Universal comes back with another entry, do something 100% DIFFERENT creatively. THAT'S where they (story/screenwriters Trevorrow & Connoly) missed the boat. Hint: you titled it Jurassic World. Make it about the damn Dino Point of View! (like Kristian said PoTApes). Blue was setup perfectly for that. Never really comitted to a legit Jurassic World. They stayed with the same dumb 4Quad formula. It should have been more apocalyptic by JW 2 & 3. Your new characters (Claire, Owen, Lockwood, baddies, Clone Masie, Dino rights duo) sucked. All this creative Team Trevorrow did was repeat great scenes formula from the original classic film JP'93 and it's lesser sequels. Screw all the JWorld movies, I really don't like ANY of them.
hated dominion, They spent a whole 2 movies leading up to a world of dinos and then don't even explore it fully, shouldn't even be called Jurassic world at that point.
This is a better version of Jurassic World Dominion. I make some modifications in Jurassic World and Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. In my opinion this would help the film. I hope you like the movie I make. 1- Jurassic World: The changes I make are the following. There is no kiss scene. The velociraptors have muzzles when are hunting Indominus. AFter Indominus escapes some soldiers saw the muzzles, and reliase that velociraptors remove it. The final battle is the same until the Indominus knocks down Rexy, when Indominus is going to kill Rexy, impact tremors are heard, another T-Rex appears, a male (junior as full grown), he manages to give Indominus more battle by having 18 years, then Rexy and Junior fight together to push the Indominus into the lagoon. The two T-Rex retreat from the area due to the injuries inflicted by Indominus. Owen, Claire, Gray and Zach think that Blue is dead. At the end of the movie the 2 rex climb onto the helipad and roar claiming the island. 2- Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom: Earth one is accompanied with two mercenaries. Rexy, when approaching, kills one and eats it, the other mercenary and the operator escape towards the stairs. The remaining mercenary is about to reach the ladder when Junior kill him by attacking him from the side, then all the same (note: the lagoon is in the center of the island and the Mosasaurus escapes into the sea through a system of tunnels) When Mills show a photo of Blue, Claire is surprised, because the thoguht that blue was dead When Nublar's final scene is shown, thunder is seen in the ash clouds. There is no kiss between Owen and Claire. Junior and Rexy kill Mills together, Junior scares the Carnotaurus away and Rexy strikes the pose, then the two retreat from the area together. WELL, WITH THESE CHANGES I CAN START WITH JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION: The film begins with the Cretaceous scene, which is going to be “accurate”, as far as it goes. The Dreagnothus scene is changed to Alamosaurus, the oviraptor scene is changed to a mammal that is scared away by a female Tyrannosaurus (which has the feathers we saw), the Nasutoceratops scene is changed to a Triceratops scene . I take Moros Intrepidus out of the Cretaceous and focus on a male t-rex that is waking up. Then this rex sees an Edmontosaurus and when he was going to attack it another male T-Rex appears (the male t-rex have much longer and more striking feathers) They start to fight for the territory in the same way as in the movie. The drive-in scene is with Junior (since in this version Rexy died of old age), but Junior was carrying a dead animal in his mouth. Biosyn's presentation scene instead of being with Lewis Dogson is with George Baselton, who replaces Ramsay Cole and the Quetzalcoalus is changed by some Pteranodon. Everything is the same after that until the Texas farm scene. Instead of locusts, he sees a herd of Dryosaurus eating a portion of the plantation. Then they get nervous and suddenly a carnivorous dinosaur appears. For which the children hide, the carnivore had killed two specimens. One that the carnivore takes and another that the children catch when the carnivore threw it against the barn Ellie arrives at the farm and when she analyzes the dead dinosaur, she is shocked at the DNA composition. When she goes to see Alan, he identifies the dinosaur as Dryosaurus and is surprised. Alan mentions that this species of dinosaur does not belong on the InGen or Masrani list. Ellie tells him that this specimen also has a percentage of locust DNA. She comments that Biosyn must be creating their own dinosaurs so they can release them all over the world and have the government pay them to house them in the valley. He also tells her that these new dinosaurs don't eat products created by biosyn (Ellie also mentions some cases of carnivores not eating livestock created by biosyn). Alan and Ellie while in Pennsylvania observe 3 Tyrannosarus Rex infants (Junior and Rexy offprings, 2 males and 1 female). And that they are preparing to transport them to the valley with their father. George Baselton greets Alan and Ellie and explains about biosyn. (Here Alan sees a Brachiosaurus) After explaining about cattle for predators we move on to a shot of a male Tyrannosaurus Rex with feathers (no Giganotosaurus here). After Alan, Ellie, and Ian talk in the lobby, Dogson goes to the labs and is seen talking to Henry Wu and Howard King about dinosaurs with lobster DNA. Lewis is happy because money they have made, not only from Biosyn products, but also from rich people who are asking him to sell dinosaurs for themselves. Howard King is against everything they are creating, as he says that they are making a serious mistake, as he suspects that accelerated growth will cause the dinosaurs to reproduce very quickly and cause a collapse in the ecosystem. Wu tells him that a solution to this problem will be found. In the Malta scene, the Atrociraptors are changed to Velociraptores Sornarensis and the Allosaurus is replaced by a Suchomimus. The Moros Intrepidus scene does not appear in the film yet. George Baselton tells them about the facilities. The video that Maisie watches, instead of being shown to her by Henry Wu, is shown to her by Howard King. According to the information that Howard compiled, Charlotte was killed by The Big One. That caused Benjamin to clone her, but when she did, it caused a type of disease in Maisie that her grandfather cured after implanting a repair gene. Howard wants to study it so he can find a solution to the dinosaur problem. But Dogson wants to study it to understand the human cloning process, and do more business with it Alan and Ellie are in the sublevels and there they observe all kinds of experiments (rabies experiments, drug experiments, food product experiments and the creation of new species of dinosaurs, here locust would be seen in the distance) Alan and Ellie manage to take samples and photos of everything that is happening. When Maisie escapes, Dogson activates the alarm, this causes the Intrepidus Moors to attack Ellie and Alan, due to the noise that the alarm causes. Here they meet Maisie. When they escape on the hyperloop, Howard finds them and leaves with them, saying that he will testify against Biosyn. Before reaching the caves, Ellie cheers Maisie up by telling her that despite being a clone, she is still a person and that the dinosaurs are not to blame for being created that way by Biosyn. The scenes of Claire, Owen and Kalya from the plane until they find the dead deer are the same. Junior approaches the corpse to take it away. One of the infants wanders off, then the feathered male Rex appears and kills the baby. Junior tries to confront him, but he retreats in the end with the 2 remaining infants. In the caves Ellie loses the tests due to the attack of the Dimetrodons. Here they are rescued by Ian and George. When Dogson fired Ian, George decides to help him rescue his friends. Claire's scene with the Dilophosaurus instead of being strangled, Owen hits him with a stick and Kayla electrocutes him. (There is only one Dilophosaurus here) Lewis starts destroying the evidence and the fire is the same with the locusts When the 2 groups meet, more Dilophosaurus appear, when they are about to attack, they get scared and run away. What happens is that shock tremors begin to be heard and the feathered male t-rex appears. As they hide behind the car, Howard King stands still thinking about the vision theory, but the t-rex kills him. Here George sacrifices himself so they can escape (Ian Malcolm doesn't do the spear scene and there's no zilla flare). The attack is the same. Lewis talks to Wu. Dogson blames Wu for everything that has happened, saying that he is responsible for the problems with the dinosaurs and leaves him behind. Then some character ask why the T-Rex attacked Howard, and Grant explains the vision theory is wrong and that the Rex had excellent binocular vision. (This T-Rex, having a "pure" genome, in addition to having feathers, has full potential bite force and excellent vision) When Ellie and Claire go to restore the stream they are attacked by Moros Intrepidus When Wu meets the protagonists, he explains that he found a solution to the crop problem thanks to Howard King's work, he also helped them to defeat Biosyn and he leaves with them. When they are about to escape, Junior appears with the two infants. Just behind the protagonists appears the feathered T-Rex (since when they activated the emergency system to gather the dinosaurs, they cataloged them by species). Junior and the Feathered Rex face off in the same way. When Junior is knocked out and Ellie goes after Owen, Claire and Maisie, the feathered Rex is distracted. Then he hears the sounds of the 2 infants, while he approaches the infants to kill them, Junior reacts to hearing the sounds and prevents him from eating them. In the end Junior, with a combination of bite force and impalement, kills the feathered rex. Alan and Ellie start a relationship, but they don't kiss. When the final monologue is seen, Junior goes with his 2 children as teenagers and Ian Malcolm ends up saying the phrase "life found its way" after the speech and the film ends. These are some changes, which I think would make the movie much better. Blue and Delta's scenes are the same. Dogson's death is the same. Dogson want Beta to study the I.B.R.I.S program due to being young and Blue became wild.
11:23 I Felt the same way with everyone throwing up hands every time a Dino turned up. Perhaps Muldoon might have lived if he just through up a high five to that "clever girl"
People are missing a key point. They did not want the dinosaurs to be the bad guys. So the dilemma is what to do, what to do. Hmm. I think they did a good job balancing this so that most of the dinosaurs are saved/protected because the fans love the dinosaurs.
Dinosaurs were never the bad guys in the first and second movie, it wasn’t until 3 where they really made the dinosaurs seems like either villains and by the fourth where we see them as heroes.
I wanted this movie to be Dawn for the Planet of the Apes with Dinosaurs what we we got was a Sci-Fi version of Mission Impossible with Dinosaurs and giant locusts and i'm so disappointed . I feel so flat and empty at the end of this movie . The action in this movie whilst big and plentiful had least tension of any Jurrasic Movie although I did like when the Dilophosaurus group killed Dodgson. The setup from the end of Fallen Kingdom felt wasted . The fact Dominion wasted Fallen Kingdom setup makes Fallen Kingdom look even worse.
In a few days ,the movie already made 390 million dollars worldwide . And according to rotten tomatoes, the audience score is 79%. So, the franchise won't die anytime soon. I think we need a long break and then a reboot. Hopefully they will stop calling a Deinonychus a God damn velociraptor.
This was the first blockbuster in I don’t know maybe 10 years that I truly did not like. This movie to me was a shitty version of taken, that happen to have dinosaur in it.
So just like we had Reilly on the Last Jedi rewatch episode, I think we should of had Perri Nemiroff on this episode to defend JW: Dominion. I'm really curious about how that back and forth would go.
This may be a bit cliché but I'd like to see them fast forward several hundred years and it be a post-apocalyptical take. Dinosaurs have reclaimed the earth and humans are just trying to survive.
I didn't mind the locust plot for two reasons. One, I was tired of the formulaic plot of two groups of humans fighting to either protect or exploit the dinosaurs only to have the latter run amok and both plans blow up in everyone's faces. Second, the idea of dinosaurs running amok and everyone mostly normalizing it pushed suspension of disbelief even by the standards of the franchise for me. People should've been reacting to that like a Godzilla attack or something. Even a Planet of the Apes or Land of the Lost kind of scenario would've been no more or less ridiculous than the locust plot imho; which is why I accepted any logic and plausiblity left being thrown out the window and went into this movie ready to roll with the punches. And I think Colon Trevorrow made Dinosaurs living in the mainlands the new norm just to leave the dorm open for a possible crossover with the Fast and the Furious films people have asked about. 🤷🏾♂️
Jurassic World: Dominion ....you guys are wrong !!.......just seen this ...it was great and the story was good !!.......and plenty of people getting eating too !!
Did have fun with it, but was disappointed with the story and even the CGI. Made the mistake of watching Prehistoric Earth first on Apple and that was amazing
Understand this.... No matter what they do with the franchise, the OG film can never be knocked off it's throne. If expecting or wanting these new Jurassic movies to live up to the First film, you're gonna continue to set yourselves up for more hurt and disappointment. I'm a huge fan of the franchise, it all started from the first Jurassic Park when I was 5. My birth of being a Dinosaur fan ever since. My #1 Dino film of all time, my 2nd favorite Film of all time. Some thing worked in these new Jurassic Films, and some things didn't. These new Jurassic films will never ruin the franchise, the first film will never be touched. Like it or Not, they're gonna continue forward with this franchise. it's for us who wants to see Dinosaurs on the big screen YES this franchise will and have to continue, BUT no time soon. MORE IMPORTANTLY, no longer in the same form we've been getting with recent films as well as it was for past 30 years. It's time that it needs to be something different, that's never been done before, something majestic, magnificent that will capture it's own way of magic. A new prequel trilogy story set millions of years ago, only focusing on the Dinosaurs in their adventure and survival. A pinch of a documentary like, but more a feature film take to it. As we as humans step aside, and become an audience immersing ourselves, and let the animals tell their story during their times. just exactly like in that form of the Dominion Prologue, but with only the Dinosaurs "Jurassic Planet"
I think they should end the franchise. It begins to be repetitive. Let it gone for few years and then make new one with completely different premise, story, cast and completely brand new different movie.
The movie just felt so hollow and bland. “Epic conclusion” my ass. I liked that the legacy characters actually had supporting roles, but the movie lacked heart. I just didn’t care. *SPOILERS* Only time I kinda felt something is the final look Pratt and Blue shared in the end. That got me for whatever reason.
One of the biggest problems for me is that the film had no stakes. Out of all the films to bring back the original cast, this one should have been the one to kill one or more of the characters and give the film an emotional edge.
Give me one more if a competent creative team could give us the sequel that fallen kingdom and the marketing for dominion promised - an earth where humans and dinos are fighting for dominance.
Relatively speaking I enjoyed Jurassic World Dominon. I went in with low expectations and it was at least passable. Was entertaining and I didn’t feel bored or disinterested too often. Much better than Fallen Kingdom but nowhere near as good as the original. And in terms of recent releases it was much better than Uncharted, Secrets of Dumbledore and Morbius.
would have made way more at the Box Office if it was actually well received, i know a handful of people who didn't see it just because of my review saying it was bad
I just wanted to add two cents. What was the *actual* issue people have with the locust? People seem to be super pissed off across the board (even people who enjoyed the film) at the locust being the focus. Yet from what I watched…they didn’t seem to be *that big* a focus. Sure they were the main end goal the characters had to stop, but they barely had any sequences. The initial farm scene, Alan and Ellie getting the sample and them being burned. Other than that we had Alan and Ellie discuss one when they met, briefly Claire and Ellie had to deal with them and then Wu let them go. All in all they hardly had *any screen* time whatsoever. On the contrary we got sequences with the Dilophosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Pyroraptor, T-Rex, Blue/Beta, Atrociraptors, Carnotaurus, Allosaurus and many more. I am just a little confused as to why this is a major gripe people have. The title “Dominion” fits perfectly as it is what Biosyn wanted, complete control. They used the Locust to take our rival companies and independent crops and food supply, so that they have to eventually give in an purchase Biosyn. Personally I think it’s very in line with Michael Critchon’s work and main themes - man playing god, meddling with nature, corporate greed, creation. Timeline, Micro, Westworld, Jurassic Park etc. Also just a few other thoughts. Everyone asked for less Rexy saving the day and popping up everywhere, less Blue and tamed raptors, less hybrids, and less fast and furious action. The story has *always* been about man’s miss-use of genetic power. Yet the trilogy - and saga - ends with Wu using said genetic power responsibly & for good. And he does so through the study of Beta & Maisie. As Grant once said, “dinosaur & man, two species separated by 65 million years…how can we possibly have the slightest idea of what to expect” - it’s that very speech that rings true here. The film incorporates that into how they stop Biosyn. Yet, I see so many complaints about then said lack of dinosaurs and lack of dinosaur attacks in cities etc. I have even seen people say there weren’t enough dinosaurs and too much human content/discussion. Firstly, it feels there’s *plenty*, of dinosaur action, and secondly isn’t that what everyone wanted and is what is praised about the original? It’s a story about man, man’s consequences + character arcs, and the dinosaurs are merely there as a backdrop for the story? It just sought of feels like the Colin, writers, etc can’t win. They incorprated many of the critiques people had and yet it’s still not enough? The animals coexisting is actually very natural, and shows how “life finds a way”. Also there isn’t as many dinosaurs as you make it out. There’s *one* T-Rex on the loose. There’s *one* Mosasaurus one the loose. There’s Blue & her baby on the loose. It’s not as apocalypitic as you’re saying. And the hand thing only works because it’s a young baby, Maisie and Grant are merely mimicking Owen. I also think the film just on a objective craft level was good. It was beautiful shot, cinematography, CGI, animatronics, action set pieces, music & sound design were all incredible. This may also be *controversial* but to me the film seemed like the least “dumb” of the films outside the first. I adore the others, but many have stupid, illogical or dumb moments. I see the word dumb being used constantly…but where is it applicable? I feel every decision by Owen, Claire, Ian, Alan etc was the smart one. There’s legit no ridiculous stunts. The only real moment of suspend disbelief is the plane crash - which is something that has been in many (good) films, and even in this franchise prior. But all the set pieces - whether it be Malta, the snow, the Biosyn Valley or centre and so on - never felt ridiculous. Also I’d say the magic is completely subjective, plenty of kids will love it - and so will adults. Everyone wants them to be magical, natural, animals. Yet then want them to be scary monsters keep eating people and rampage? You talk about Fallen Kingdom a B movie yet then want dinosaurs attacking planes? I don’t know just doesn’t see fair. Again, just my two cents, everyone has the right to their opinion but it’s just shocked me how much hate the film is getting. Criticism, people not liking it, I get and expected but the amount of people acting as if it’s an irredeemable dumpster fire just seems unfounded to me. Pratt choking out a small Dilophosaurus by surprise as it’s ready to spit is not too unbelievable. And BDH legit *does* use the location to out-manouvre the dinosaur. BDH also doesn’t just fight her, she uses a *taser* to taze the girl…that’s it.
@@TheKristianHarloff thank you so much! I absolutely applaud you for replying, not many others do (especially when they have an opposing view). Loved the long video and discussion despite not necessarily agreeing. Keep up the awesome work man!
Stone Cold Steve Austin catchphrase just cracked me up way to go man. I just died with laughter. When I noticed Kylie's DeWanda Wise I knew she was connected to Dr. Arnold from the very first film making her his daughter. She had amazing chemistry with Owen Grady and the action sequence with the hybrid Raptor bird reminded me of Sattler's encounter with the Raptor in the first film when she discovers Dr. Arnold's arm ripped off. Also Lewis Dodgson bringing back from the very first film with Campbell Scott taking over was great but still the villain was very stereotypical but captured the mannerisms of Cameron Thor from the first film pretty well. Even the Barbasol shaving canister that he had in his office was another nice reference. The thing I wanted was seeing more of how to save Dinosaurs and coexisting which we get but it felt very muddled. They repeated the same thing with Dinosaurs going on rampage great but change it up as to how you can improve life for humans and dinosaurs. This should've have been split in 2 parts with the first being corruption with BioSyn leading the second part on improving the human life by using Dinosaur's DNA with Maisie Lockwood as the human codex carrying the DNA. They teased all these things but they needed to expand on it more.
Yes. What we have desperately needed for a long time is a new dinosaur-themed IP that 1) isn't a documentary or kiddie movie 2) actually gives two shits about current paleontology and not nostalgia for an older film and 3) has nothing whatosever to do with the JP franchise. You would think Hollywood mistakenly believes that dinosaurs are trademarked at this point. They aren't. Why should dinosaurs be limited to JP nostalgia?
It’s makes zero sense for them to stop if the films keep making money regardless of the quality. If people keep showing up then why stop? Now if let’s say that the Jurassic world film would make only like $350 million world wide at the end of its theatrical run then that would indicate the audiences didn’t give a damn about the film. Hell if this new one makes over a billion regardless of they say that it’s the final one they will make another one down the line
There’s one scene with guns going off in every direction and the Bond woman is in the middle of it all and she just sticks her nose in the air and walks away like nothing is happening! Can you even imagine something this idiotic happening in the world they set up in the first movie?!
They definitely should stop making them. The quality has been going downhill since the first one. I agree with Kristian, I have a bad feeling that they may try to milk the franchise and make more movies in the style of Planet of the Apes.
I wanted a Dawn of the Planet of the Apes vibe with JW: Dominion. Unfortunately we didn't get that in final flm in my opinion . What we got was a generic espionage thriller featuring giant locust with some dinosaurs as back ground characters . They wasted the set up that was done at the end of Fallen Kingdom . Dominion respetively makes Fallen /Kingdom even Kingdom.
I find it funny they treat the Giga like it's a villain when it isn't. It's just a big dinosaur they put in a place it shouldn't be. Then it gets teamed up on by 2 other dinosaurs and killed for no reason. It didn't even seem intelligent. Not at all "Joker-like".
Considering bad word of mouth, the lower quality of Fallen Kingdom, lower overall theater-going, and the fact that Dominion will probably never be released in China, I think Dominion won't do great worldwide, but considering it has already crossed $400M, it will probably reach around $850-900. If I had not known how strong it would open, I would have guessed $680 worldwide total for its run
Im honestly not sure why people are bashing this film that much. I thought it was WAY better than JW, JW FK, and JP 3. Id say this is the 3rd best in all the films 1st then LW, then JWD. I love how they all come together. They actually use practical effects in here which I felt lacked In the first film. The only issue I had was the plot was kinda cheesy with the whole steve jobs as the bad guy. The action sequences were pretty fun and enjoyable. Jeff stole the whole movie tho. Every time he was on screen he was hilarious lol
DeWanda Wise' Kayla was the best new character of this new trilogy, I think. Besides Owen maybe..........maybe. I liked him in JW but he acted like a male model on his first movie in these sequels.
Do Universal need to stop 🛑 making Jurassic franchise and the answer is no! No! Universal don’t need to stop 🛑 making Jurassic franchise and this franchise will go on as long as they want to! Jurassic World will have a wonderful crossover with Fast and Furious! Jurassic World vs. Fast and Furious will be awesome 🤩 crossover movie 🎥🍿
*and Coy is sooooo 100% spot in with why I loathed even Jurassic World back in 2015 and still today - the STUPID INDOMINUS REX and his crappy script "powers" to do whatever nonsensical thing was needed to advance the next action scene (a major point of Dan Murrell's JW classic Movie Fight). Ugh.
I actually think it’s worse than Fallen Kingdom. Like as dumb as FK is, I actually thought it was a well directed movie, it just that J.A Bayona had to work with a really bad script. This one, not only is the script is bad, but Colin Trevorrow’s direction feels unfocused, and the story is just too convoluted. And even when the original cast is back, it didn’t really feel earned and they seem out of place in the plot. I was willing to go with how dumb these movies have gotten, but at least keep it fairly simple, just do the “Planet of the Apes with dinosaurs” idea and *BOOM* people are satisfied. In the end, it’s just frustrating.
Well to date Jurassic Park is still the best out of this saga in my opinion. I think if anymore are made they should just reboot. There is so much in that first book that could have be done very good in one film. Then go from there. Even the first trilogy wasn't really a coherent story, but definitely better than the second trilogy.
Never 😞 I love JP. I will say it would be bad ass to see a different take on the franchise like a prequel to Lost World or JP3. Tv show. But even if they continue to make transformers like films with packed nostalgia I’m still all for it. I am a guilty die hard. I grew up with the lost world & JP3 🙌🏻 😌 Love this franchise so much.
Should people stop being super critical about entertainment? That bothers me way more than a movie made for escaping the real world. Besides that, the movie is actually really decent minus a few segments like laser-guided dinos and the final dino royal rumble.. Imo it ties as the 2nd best sequel.
My ranking 1. Jurassic Park 2. Jurassic World Dominion 3. Jurassic Park Lost World 4. Jurassic World 5. Jurassic Park 3 6. Jurassic World fallen kingdom
Watched the movie last night and was so incredibly disappointed. For the actors to be given this and this legacy franchise to be treated this way, again just really disappointed. Its lost its magic. I hope this gets what a Nolan or Reeves type did to Batman. Someone passionate to the material needs to reboot it proper. Hone in on a hard PG13, dark, gritty, scary, thrilling movie. Even as an example with what The Quiet Place achieved and how that made the viewer feel. We need to find ourselves back to that with the proper creators at the helm
I agree with the I didn't hate this movie but I also think it's not a good movie. Thank you gentlemen!!! Looking forward to your thoughts on Toy Story 3 and 4 on Friday!!! Hope you guys have a great week!!! 🙂 👍
I think the only way they can make one is to make it a rated R gore fest which will never happen but hey its just an idea. They will wait 10 years or so bring back Prat then go again. There enough there that they can milk with boxsets a possible directors cuts etc etc
On its own it’s a good film, but it’s a bad Jurassic film. But we have to judge it as part of the series as it represents itself. So I think the criticism is definitely warranted. For a film that cost over $200 million, there should be a very high standard. Sad to see Jurassic films to into another Fast and Furious franchise. The original 2 films really took the subject matter serious and that standard should’ve been maintained.
Not all Intellectual Properties can go on forever. Many were designed to have a beginning, middle, and end. Try to push past that, and the most common result is getting the same thing over and over and over again. The Terminator franchise is a good example of this.
I could see a reboot in 30 years. However I would enjoy a movie with Dinosaurs as the major component of the film. Enough with the parks an the weaponizing dinos for profit.
I was expecting more from this movie. Fallen Kingdom and Dominion went splat. It was dark, cloudy, snowy, rainy majority of the times. I was all on board to see Laura, Jeff and Sam but the plot line was horrible. Let's talk about the positives old band back together, Atrociraptor speed chase, Intro of Pyroraptor, Giga vs Goldblum. Rest of the movie was not great. If Giga is a villain let him kill people. The last fight scene was horrible. BD Wong needed to die. My problem wasn't the actors it's the entire script/plot. I'm worried that this franchise might be dead now 😢
I said the same about Disney they should call it quits on marvel, star wars and the remake of the Disney classic. all of them have become completely trash but i see that people still support it which is pathetic and a big joke

I would like to see what happens in five years or so with the dinosaurs out in the open, but i thought that is what i was going to get with Dominion, let’s see how it affects the natural ecological balance but we need to see the carnivores out in the open world. The side story with the Locust was very poorly written
I don’t understand why no one mentions the biggest lost opportunity with DeWanda Wise’s character: given that she had SUCH a good character arc, she should have been Ian Malcolm’s daughter, Kelly, all grown up. It would have given a lot more meaning as the various character paths came together.
All they needed was a few lines written in between she and Jeff, as they all come together, at the end of the film:
“Kelly?!”
“Uh… (awkward smile) Hi dad.”
“WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!”
“Long story…”
Haha
My ranking would be:
6. Jurassic Park III ★
5. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom ★½
4. Jurassic World Dominion ★★
3. Jurassic World ★★½
2. The Lost World: Jurassic Park ★★★★

No way you put Jurassic park 3 below fallen kingdom 😂 a movie about using a gun to use the indoraptor and where a little girl is praised for the death of who knows how much
Spot On. Review and Ranks...and I loathe the Trevorrow Saga. His Jurassic World entries are copy & paste memberberry garbage.

@@kenchun24 I disagree those who was the most entertaining movies I ever seen
@@seriousnesstv7902 what are you talking about what do you mean deaths
Jurassic park remake? Blasphemy. That’s like saying remake Star Wars
@@drewmantia oh I know. But that is literally the only way I can see there being any more movies in this franchise.
@@lapersongd749 in Dominion they said they managed to make dinos as close to pure as pure could get.
@@thedarkknight2221 but their still not technically pure. the purest the franchise will get would be like i said, the GOOD prologue that was cut from the movie. you could actually see feathers on the t rex, just not very clearly.
We already established Chris Pratt is lava proof in the last movie. Why would you assume he wouldn't be ice proof too?

i want a gritty, accurate, well made series, even if its a remake of the original.
Thank you for listening!
I hope your rewatch series lasts forever!!! My favorite 3 gentlemen on the you tubes! The dynamic is magical!!!
I don’t want them to stop. But we need a long break. Im a huge fan so I’m pretty bias.
I agree, I would want more especially how this film ends. The Malta sequence and the Locust story really shows how interesting and imaginative this could go.
Haven't seen it yet but the franchise needs a completely new writing team and keep colin trevorrow as far away from the franchise as possible.

3. The Lost World
4. Jurassic World: Dominion
5. Jurassic Park 3
6. Fallen Kingdom
My ranking is just like Winston’s:
6. Fallen Kingdom
5. Jurassic Park 3
4. Dominion
3. Jurassic World
2. The Lost World
1. Jurassic Park
Thanks for the ranking!
I have to rewatch The Lost World, because as of right now I have that film and Jurassic World swapped on my list
The movie has too many ideas in it and none of them are explored enough, so it ends up being unsatisfying but not terrible
Yup
The remaining mercenary is about to reach the ladder when Junior kill him by attacking him from the side, then all the same (note: the lagoon is in the center of the island and the Mosasaurus escapes into the sea through a system of tunnels)
When Mills show a photo of Blue, Claire is surprised, because the thoguht that blue was dead
When Nublar's final scene is shown, thunder is seen in the ash clouds.
There is no kiss between Owen and Claire.
Junior and Rexy kill Mills together, Junior scares the Carnotaurus away and Rexy strikes the pose, then the two retreat from the area together.
WELL, WITH THESE CHANGES I CAN START WITH JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION:
The film begins with the Cretaceous scene, which is going to be “accurate”, as far as it goes.
One that the carnivore takes and another that the children catch when the carnivore threw it against the barn
Ellie arrives at the farm and when she analyzes the dead dinosaur, she is shocked at the DNA composition.
But Dogson wants to study it to understand the human cloning process, and do more business with it
Alan and Ellie are in the sublevels and there they observe all kinds of experiments (rabies experiments, drug experiments, food product experiments and the creation of new species of dinosaurs, here locust would be seen in the distance) Alan and Ellie manage to take samples and photos of everything that is happening.
(There is only one Dilophosaurus here)
Lewis starts destroying the evidence and the fire is the same with the locusts
When the 2 groups meet, more Dilophosaurus appear, when they are about to attack, they get scared and run away.
(This T-Rex, having a "pure" genome, in addition to having feathers, has full potential bite force and excellent vision)
When Ellie and Claire go to restore the stream they are attacked by Moros Intrepidus
When Wu meets the protagonists, he explains that he found a solution to the crop problem thanks to Howard King's work, he also helped them to defeat Biosyn and he leaves with them.
Dammmnn! FANTASTIC Breakdown!
lmfao I freaking love y'all's chemistry. Winston hyping you up was amazing 😂
11:23 I Felt the same way with everyone throwing up hands every time a Dino turned up. Perhaps Muldoon might have lived if he just through up a high five to that "clever girl"
Exactly!
Top Gun Maverick is currently at 747 million
Fear leads to frustration, frustration leads to anger, anger leads to...well, you know Darth Harloff!!!
After Owen struggled to get a Dimorphodon off of him in Jurassic World, I was absolutely thrown when he strangled a damn dilo in Dominion
The director has stated in the interview that Dominion was never going to be like planet of the apes
@@animezilla4486 Well then more fool him.
HAhaha
This was the first blockbuster in I don’t know maybe 10 years that I truly did not like. This movie to me was a shitty version of taken, that happen to have dinosaur in it.
So just like we had Reilly on the Last Jedi rewatch episode, I think we should of had Perri Nemiroff on this episode to defend JW: Dominion. I'm really curious about how that back and forth would go.
@2:49 "I'd put more effort into it" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This may be a bit cliché but I'd like to see them fast forward several hundred years and it be a post-apocalyptical take. Dinosaurs have reclaimed the earth and humans are just trying to survive.
Agreed
you 3 goofballs have become one of my favorites to watch on TH-cam!
That fact that Ian Malcom was 100% done with this movie.....and he WAS IN THIS MOVIE.

Did have fun with it, but was disappointed with the story and even the CGI. Made the mistake of watching Prehistoric Earth first on Apple and that was amazing
It was amazing, Prehistoric planet needs more content before Jurassic world now
Understand this....
Like it or Not, they're gonna continue forward with this franchise. it's for us who wants to see Dinosaurs on the big screen
YES this franchise will and have to continue, BUT no time soon.
As we as humans step aside, and become an audience immersing ourselves, and let the animals tell their story during their times.
just exactly like in that form of the Dominion Prologue, but with only the Dinosaurs
"Jurassic Planet"
I think they should end the franchise. It begins to be repetitive.
Let it gone for few years and then make new one with completely different premise, story, cast and completely brand new different movie.
Agreed
They should end it and move on to new things.
Did yall notice that the entire drive in movie scene was completely removed
The movie just felt so hollow and bland. “Epic conclusion” my ass. I liked that the legacy characters actually had supporting roles, but the movie lacked heart. I just didn’t care.
*SPOILERS*
Only time I kinda felt something is the final look Pratt and Blue shared in the end. That got me for whatever reason.
Makes sense
Movie quality does not matter with this franchise. People just want to see dinosaurs. If Universal likes making money, they’ll keep making them.
Very true.
One of the biggest problems for me is that the film had no stakes. Out of all the films to bring back the original cast, this one should have been the one to kill one or more of the characters and give the film an emotional edge.
Fair
Give me one more if a competent creative team could give us the sequel that fallen kingdom and the marketing for dominion promised - an earth where humans and dinos are fighting for dominance.
Relatively speaking I enjoyed Jurassic World Dominon.
I went in with low expectations and it was at least passable. Was entertaining and I didn’t feel bored or disinterested too often.
Much better than Fallen Kingdom but nowhere near as good as the original.
And in terms of recent releases it was much better than Uncharted, Secrets of Dumbledore and Morbius.
Glad to hear it!
would have made way more at the Box Office if it was actually well received, i know a handful of people who didn't see it just because of my review saying it was bad
I absolutely love the detail and the passion that went into this comment. Thank you!!
Why should dinosaurs be limited to JP nostalgia?
i was mad bc i wanted more dinosaur mayhem and they didnt even have the scene with the drive in movie theater.
42:40 weekend box office 143.4 million domestic, 245.7 foreign.
Pretty dumb
I totally agree with Winston’s ranking….flip flop JP 3 and dominion
Yes.
I find it funny they treat the Giga like it's a villain when it isn't. It's just a big dinosaur they put in a place it shouldn't be. Then it gets teamed up on by 2 other dinosaurs and killed for no reason. It didn't even seem intelligent. Not at all "Joker-like".
Exactly
Considering bad word of mouth, the lower quality of Fallen Kingdom, lower overall theater-going, and the fact that Dominion will probably never be released in China, I think Dominion won't do great worldwide, but considering it has already crossed $400M, it will probably reach around $850-900. If I had not known how strong it would open, I would have guessed $680 worldwide total for its run
True
They already said it's last one in the franchise but if makes money more sequels to follow.
Transformers rewatch when Rise of the Beasts comes out?
Coy is the Chris Pratt of TH-cam he’s everywhere lol.
Hahaha
Yes:)Denouement!Shane Black knows all about Denouement!:)
Chris Pratt shows a lotta restraint in sticking his hands out into the mouth of rapacious veloceraptors!:)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I'll be a little surprised if Dominion doesn't hit a billion
Ugh.
How was Jurassic world a bad movie I'm just curious
Chris Pratt choked out that dino like how Blue would do it. He came from the side, straight to the neck. 😂 They are forever bonded.
If I see Drs. Grant and Sattler and feel nothing...I really don't want to know anything about what Trevorrow would have done with Star Wars, tbh.
It would've been better than what we got in TROS believe it or not
It's currently at 30% for the critics but it's at 79% for the fans
I don't care for the negative reviews
Second too just to say pass on Jurassic world
The franchise is now extinct quality wise but made money so…
I think a spin-off of the pilot going into the Biosyn valley to get an important item or person would be cool
The prequel to the Lost World is literally the first Jurassic Park.
Glad you dug it!
@@Ronfost89 4 year gap. I’d love to see what Wu was up too & also the 4 year gap between TLW-JP3 With the amalgam testing.
@@matthewheuel2508 an origin story for John Hammond would be amazing.
Should people stop being super critical about entertainment? That bothers me way more than a movie made for escaping the real world. Besides that, the movie is actually really decent minus a few segments like laser-guided dinos and the final dino royal rumble.. Imo it ties as the 2nd best sequel.
Campbell Scott played Peter Parker father in the amazing spiderman movies
My ranking
1. Jurassic Park
2. Jurassic World Dominion
3. Jurassic Park Lost World
4. Jurassic World
5. Jurassic Park 3
Fair points
I agree with the I didn't hate this movie but I also think it's not a good movie. Thank you gentlemen!!! Looking forward to your thoughts on Toy Story 3 and 4 on Friday!!! Hope you guys have a great week!!! 🙂 👍
Thank you!
Coy is often very forgiving as a critic. I enjoy that about him. But when even he is incredibly critical of a film, you know it has to be REALLY bad.
True
Absolutely. Unless Spielberg comes back to direct.
Hmmmm
It was ok. Love your channel
Thank you!
They are. This is the last big tentpole movie from this franchise. Bunch of branched-off streaming shows coming in the next few years.
I think the only way they can make one is to make it a rated R gore fest which will never happen but hey its just an idea. They will wait 10 years or so bring back Prat then go again. There enough there that they can milk with boxsets a possible directors cuts etc etc
True
On its own it’s a good film, but it’s a bad Jurassic film. But we have to judge it as part of the series as it represents itself. So I think the criticism is definitely warranted. For a film that cost over $200 million, there should be a very high standard. Sad to see Jurassic films to into another Fast and Furious franchise. The original 2 films really took the subject matter serious and that standard should’ve been maintained.
Good points!
Jurassic Galaxy after some billionaire goes to Mars and brings back Martian Dinosaur DNA.
yeah i said martian dna...its all they got left.
I'm worried that this franchise might be dead now 😢
Well it made A LOT of cash so it might not be dead.
Coy rockin’ a very fresh tee 🦖🔥
Someone did lose their hand to a raptor, back in Jurassic World, Vincent Donofrio. Anyway, the Chris Pratt hand thing is stupid.
So silly
I didn’t even know this was the third one of the new run. I thought it was the second. I probably will skip it.
Makes sense
I said the same about Disney they should call it quits on marvel, star wars and the remake of the Disney classic. all of them have become completely trash but i see that people still support it which is pathetic and a big joke
Why does it sound like you're talking about Gremlins 2?
Hahaha
Love the review and my ranking with Winston.

They rushed it through the convid and constraints of filming in London. Too expensive to film on Universal backlot and go back to Hawaii?
Grabbing a dinosaur by the neck says everything.Dumb, silly fun.
Ya
I would like to see what happens in five years or so with the dinosaurs out in the open, but i thought that is what i was going to get with Dominion, let’s see how it affects the natural ecological balance but we need to see the carnivores out in the open world.
The side story with the Locust was very poorly written
Agreed
