@@TheKristianHarloff I mean I doubt they show back up, but it feels more fun that way if they ever do. My dream would be a Spidey show on D+. Just more time to really use all his badguys.
You know I’ve seen people crap on Far from Home a lot recently, but I feel like the hate is a bit unfair and it’s a marginal improvement over Homecoming for me. I know Jon Watts kinda gets lump into with Peyton Reed and the Captain Marvel directors in terms of MCU directors with no particular style compare to like James Gunn or Taika, but I thought he stepped it up for this one in terms of the action sequences as you can tell he’s gotten used to it whereas Homecoming, you could tell he’s new at this. Especially that Mysterio sequence, one of the best scenes in not just the MCU and but in any Spider-Man movie. Interested to see how handles it with not just No Way Home but with Fantastic Four coming up.
I love what Peyton Reed did with the Ant-Man movies very underrated which is cool 👍 Jon watts is very similar but that’s cool man 😎I think both have done a great job with their movies giving them a more upbeat summer vibe…although No Way Home looks to be going for that witchy autumn vibe 🎥👍let’s hope they both carry on doing what they do great 👍
@@TheKristianHarloff Idk I really hope Holland still stays in the MCU after this and not go over in the Sonyverse, like follow him when he’s in college.
It's early in the morning so no witty insight from me. I really enjoyed Far From Home. More than Homecoming, less than Raimi's Spider-Man 2. Will there be a ranking after Into the Spiderverse? Or after No Way Home?
Another good show. Squirrel should be named Debo because he doesn't care if you see him or not long as he get his treats. Far from Home is a fun movie. They pulled off Mysterio which I thought never happen I'm with Coy and Winston that Beck is alive and he's the 6th of Sinister Six in next film. I hope Holland does 3 more films than pass it to Miles Morales. Seems we got good actor who becomes Spider-Man and Peter Parker on and off screen like Henry Cavil does for Superman. I enjoyed the show lots of laughing and craziness like a good Friday night hanging out.
I agree about Zendaya, I thought she had much more to do here and her chemistry with Holland is charming and adorable. Honestly rewatching these movies, their chemistry reminded me of like a combination of Garfield & Stone and Maguire & Dunst. The Garfield and Stone comparison because it is that cutesy back and forth between two awkward people, but IMO it’s not as cringey and more natural like how real teenagers talk. And the Maguire & Dunst comparison in terms her character is reminiscent of Mary Jane in the first Spider-Man, where Mary Jane is basically the party girl at school and with friends, but it’s really a facade and you realize she has a shitty home life and she feels more comfortable being herself around Peter. Once we get to the bridge scene, that’s where I started to like Zendaya’s version, cause behind all the dark & edgy jokes and responses, when she’s around Peter, she’s just as awkward as he is and once it was revealed why, it adds dimension to her character and makes her more likable. I know some people crap on Zendaya’s MJ but I really like her in the role and I’m interested to see how their relationship grows in No Way Home
I think people tend to shit on Zendaya's MJ because she's not the traditional Mary Jane. I'm okay with her being a new, unique take on the character, but the way they "revealed" her at the end of "Homecoming" felt super-forced. They could've just made her "MJ" from the very beginning, as opposed to naming her Michelle. While she doesn't have the traditional traits of Mary Jane, ie. she's the popular, out-going kid; that aspect of her building up an image of herself to hide her inner turmoil and insecurities is VERY MUCH in-character, and something I appreciate. The name-change/reveal is ultimately what I felt was unnecessary to me about her character. Otherwise, she has a very charming chemistry with Tom Holland's Peter. They legit interact like a real awkward high-school romance; neither of them really know what they're doing, but they somehow make it work.
So, this is a total tangent, but I think Coy is one of the few dudes who can pull off a mustache and a soul patch and show up in a Ken Burns Civil War documentary as a soldier. “My dearest Mary, the war is far worse than I feared. I believe that the cause is just for no man, woman or child should be subject to the whims and cruelty of bondage to another. I only hope that this letter finds you well and pray that this terrible conflict can be ended swiftly. Earnestly and forever yours, Sergeant Coy Jandreau”
I actually don't know what to make of this movie. The parts where Peter is trying to woo MJ is sweet and relatable but then there are other parts where I am just like how dumb can a hero get. And then he is saved by Ironman again, this time not physically, but now with his tech.
@@TheKristianHarloff I just hope they explore the independent Spiderman. Without the parents aspect, the Ironman aspect, etc. I want to see Tom Holland's Spiderman actually be Spiderman where he figures out stuff by himself.
Best to Worst: Spider-Man 2/2.1 Spider-Man Spider-Man 3: Editor's Cut The Amazing Spider-Man Spider-Man 3: Theatrical Cut Spider-Man: Homecoming The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Spider-Man: Far From Home Holland's version peaked with Civil War and the only reason I'm even excited for NWH is for obvious reasons. Far From Home was the first time I was mad leaving out of a Spider-Man film in theaters. My issues with SM3, TASM1, TASM2, and HC came on later viewings.
@@TheKristianHarloff Yes it came out for the movie's 10 Year Anniversary and before Homecoming. It's based on an earlier version of the movie. They added some scenes, removed some scenes, put scenes back into their original order to illustrate how much the Black Suit is affecting Peter, and the recycled music from the first two films is completely gone and replaced with Chris Young's original score. It's also two minutes shorter. It depends on how you feel about SM3 on whether you like the cut or not but it is a better version. There's still alot of deleted scenes that haven't seen the light of day though.
Think about this: Civil War sets up Peter Parker and the villain who is eventually going to ruin his life and push him to the brink of doing a Men in Black memory wipe on the entire universe I'd say that Mysterio is definitely Peter's archenemy in the MCU
The new spider man movies are good . But they don't use his spider since at all. But keep the show going. Watch them all . I do go back n re-watch them to
Sorta Spider-Man related but Kristian, you should do a review on Tick, Tick…Boom! On Netflix. Lin-Manuel Miranda’s directorial debut is very entertaining and Andrew Garfield gives the performance of his career.
Yooooo I was watching Into the Spiderverse and I realized that for Gwen, Peter was the lizard and died. What if we get Spider-Gwen and the lizard is her Peter. He technically died at the hands of Spider-Woman.
I believe Tom Holland was born to play this role. He genetically is growing with his character as we see him on screen over the years and it’s something we didn’t really get to witness with the previous two iterations of the character.
/rantmode: on Ok, let's talk about THE worst scene in any Spider-Man or MCU movie: Peter Parker in a Dutch jailcell/village. I'm Dutch, and this scene really pisses me off. Quick re-cap: Peter fought Mysterio in Germany, gets on a train, passes out and wakes up in a holding cell in the Dutch village Broek Op Langedijk. First off: There is no way in hell Peter could've end up where he did. So Peter is unconscious on a train from Germany to The Netherlands. On this train there are conductors who check for tickets, one of them would've found Peter and tried to wake him up. So, scenario 1: Peter wakes up. He has no ticket and is clearly foreign. Police will be contacted and be waiting at the next station on the track. Peter will be taken off the train and be detained in order to confirm his identity, quite possibly the US ambassy will be contacted to do so. After his identity has been confirmed he'll be paying a fine for being on the train without a ticket, and put on a flight back to the USA. Scenario 2: Peter doesn't wake up. Police and an abulance will be contacted and be waiting at the next station on the track. Peter will be taken off the train and to the nearest hospital, where doctors will examine him in order to get him to wake up. While the doctors take care of Peter, police will try to establish his identity. Once Peter's identity is established and he's feeling well again, he'll get a fine for riding the train without a ticket, and be on the next flight to the USA. If for some reason the train doesn't make an unscheduled stop to deal with this, they'll deal with it on the first scheduled stop, which in The Netherlands for this train is Utrecht. Utrecht is about 60 miles south-east of Broek Op Langedijk. If, by some miracle, no-one finds Peter until the train reached it final stop, he'd be in Amsterdam, which is 30 miles south of Broek Op Langedijk. Also, the police wouldn't have taken him to Broek Op Langedijk, they'd've taken him to the nearest policestation. And Broek Op Langedijk has no trainstation. So can anyone explain to me how an unconscious Peter managed to stay hidden, get off the train at the final stop and travel 30 miles by bus to Broek Op Langedijk? Secondly: The depiction of Broek Op Langedijk and it's people. 1: Dutch holding cells don't look like that. In Dutch police stations people are contained in individual cells. This is to prevent them from collaborating or hurting eachother. These cells are small rooms with thick metal doors, not areas with bars. 2: No-one in The Netherlands wears the shirt of our national soccer-team if there's no match of the national team that day. People do wear shirts of their favourite soccer teams, which in this case probably would've been Ajax, who hail from Amsterdam. 3: Broek Op Langedijk is a fairly modern village that looks nothing like the movie makes it look. (see link to Google Streetview below) There are a couple of villages throughout The Netherlands that still look like a bit that, either because they are outdoor museums* or tourist-traps, none anywhere near the track the train took though, so just as unlikely for Peter to end up in. And we don't allow cattle to roam the streets freely, so the goat and the cow they put in this scene wouldn't be there. (I know the scene was filmed in Spain, but they could've put more effort in making it look like The Netherlands, because this is insulting.) /rantmode: off *There are a couple of villages in The Netherlands that are labelled as 'museum', this is so they can be preserved and teach us about how things were in the past. @@Kenji-fm8kf yea that was a little annoying like I get it and it made sense but I'm tired of Tony stark being the biggest villian in the mcu even in death lol.
I enjoy this movie overall but it totally undercuts its whole message with the scene of Peter in the plane where he's doing all the Iron Man stuff and the ACDC music plays in the background. It's supposed to be about him being his own man, and yet they still try to give him Tony Stark traits which only fuels the whole "Iron Man Jr" criticisms. Worst scene of all of Tom Holland's movies.
Yea personally this is probably my least fav Spider-Man movie too. The jokes don’t land and I don’t really like Mysterio’s tie to Tony Stark. I sighed in the movie theater
This was another extremely enjoyable episode. :-) Personally, my main issue with this movie is that the first 40 or so minutes felt like a complete "waste" to me. Spider-Man has always been my favorite hero growing up with and I was very much aware of who Mysterio is and that this *had to be* some kind of illusion. I think that this movie is way better for someone who didn't see the obvious twist coming, but as a long-time comic book reader that wasn't willing to check out their brain at the entrance of the cinema, it felt like a whole lot of build-up for absolutely no reward. It was like watching a M. Night Shyamalan movie when someone else had already spoiled the twist for you - not all that enjoyable. I think that the first confrontation between Spidey and Mysterio was the highlight of the movie. This was CGI done in the best way possible, it felt surreal (as it should have - it was all illusions after all) and it had a killer ending. While I'm not sure I agree with everything that came after that, especially how it was set up (apparently when you're Spider-Man and a high speed bullet train is running you over, you will just magically end up inside the train with no visible scratches or anything), the movie overall has a lot going for it. I tend to dislike the Spidey movies where Spidey wants to cop out and not deal with his responsibility - I think him understanding that, well, with great power comes great responsibility, is THE defining character trait and whenever the movies show him doubting that (Spider-Man 2 also comes to mind), I'm less of a fan. I can still appreciate a lot of really good things in this movie, but it could never be my favorite Spider-Man movie and I think upon rewatching I'll end up liking it less for all the reasons given above.
I agree all news lies, both sides are evil. I also love this film more every time. But I still like homecoming a little more cuz Michael Keaton, also my favorite actor of all time. I can't think of a movie he's bad in. I hope we get to see an adult Spiderman with Tom in Sony's universe. Since we never saw that. Also it'd be even more impactful cuz we watched him grow up as Spiderman.
@@jackhumphreys3534 don’t worry I’ll be sure to compare Keaton’s superiority as Batman to Tobey, and Kilmer’s, and Bales, and Affleck’s, and Pattinson’s, and…

I don't think Beck is alive. But like Coy says. Team Mysterio is still around and they have the fully rendered Holo-Beck. I think it's way more interesting to have Team Mysterio come back and use Beck as a ghost
I wonder!
I love what Peyton Reed did with the Ant-Man movies very underrated which is cool 👍 Jon watts is very similar but that’s cool man 😎I think both have done a great job with their movies giving them a more upbeat summer vibe…although No Way Home looks to be going for that witchy autumn vibe 🎥👍let’s hope they both carry on doing what they do great 👍
So curious how it will all tie in and this is a way to remove another classic Avenger away and let the new in.
@@TheKristianHarloff Idk I really hope Holland still stays in the MCU after this and not go over in the Sonyverse, like follow him when he’s in college.
Far from home is a tough watch for me. I can’t wait for No way home though!
Ah fair enough, I find myself liking this one more and more.

It's early in the morning so no witty insight from me. I really enjoyed Far From Home. More than Homecoming, less than Raimi's Spider-Man 2. Will there be a ranking after Into the Spiderverse? Or after No Way Home?
We will probably do a ranking vid AFTER No Way Home
Ha Debo is great
I think the drones had flame throwers and other gadgets on them too. What you watching next fellas? .Thanks for the daily content and laughs.
Hey Phil! Agreed with the drone breakdown. As far as next rewatch, me Coy and Kate Mulligan watching Matrix to lead up to the new film
@@thedefinitionisthis I could see where you’re coming about the whole name situation by saving it at the end, but I agree with everything else
They really do have a great vibe, her and Holland
So, this is a total tangent, but I think Coy is one of the few dudes who can pull off a mustache and a soul patch and show up in a Ken Burns Civil War documentary as a soldier. “My dearest Mary, the war is far worse than I feared. I believe that the cause is just for no man, woman or child should be subject to the whims and cruelty of bondage to another. I only hope that this letter finds you well and pray that this terrible conflict can be ended swiftly. Earnestly and forever yours, Sergeant Coy Jandreau”
Hahahaha this is great.
I actually don't know what to make of this movie. The parts where Peter is trying to woo MJ is sweet and relatable but then there are other parts where I am just like how dumb can a hero get. And then he is saved by Ironman again, this time not physically, but now with his tech.
It gets better for me each time.
@@TheKristianHarloff I just hope they explore the independent Spiderman. Without the parents aspect, the Ironman aspect, etc. I want to see Tom Holland's Spiderman actually be Spiderman where he figures out stuff by himself.
I LOVE this movie. Top 5 easy in the MCU for me.
It gets better for me each time
Best to Worst:
Spider-Man 2/2.1
Spider-Man
Spider-Man 3: Editor's Cut
The Amazing Spider-Man
Spider-Man 3: Theatrical Cut
Spider-Man: Homecoming
The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Spider-Man: Far From Home
Holland's version peaked with Civil War and the only reason I'm even excited for NWH is for obvious reasons. Far From Home was the first time I was mad leaving out of a Spider-Man film in theaters. My issues with SM3, TASM1, TASM2, and HC came on later viewings.
There is an editors cut of Spidey 3?
@@TheKristianHarloff Yes it came out for the movie's 10 Year Anniversary and before Homecoming. It's based on an earlier version of the movie. They added some scenes, removed some scenes, put scenes back into their original order to illustrate how much the Black Suit is affecting Peter, and the recycled music from the first two films is completely gone and replaced with Chris Young's original score. It's also two minutes shorter. It depends on how you feel about SM3 on whether you like the cut or not but it is a better version. There's still alot of deleted scenes that haven't seen the light of day though.
Think about this: Civil War sets up Peter Parker and the villain who is eventually going to ruin his life and push him to the brink of doing a Men in Black memory wipe on the entire universe
I'd say that Mysterio is definitely Peter's archenemy in the MCU
Mysterio is a great villain
The new spider man movies are good . But they don't use his spider since at all. But keep the show going. Watch them all . I do go back n re-watch them to

The two moments in Far From Home where I had to take a Last Jedi type break from watching was the Bus Drone scene and the AC DC scene.
I don't mind either of those.
*Cottage pie.😊
Yooooo I was watching Into the Spiderverse and I realized that for Gwen, Peter was the lizard and died. What if we get Spider-Gwen and the lizard is her Peter. He technically died at the hands of Spider-Woman.
Is that how that happened?
@@TheKristianHarloff yeah I watched it yesterday and now I can't get the thought out of my head 🤔
I believe Tom Holland was born to play this role. He genetically is growing with his character as we see him on screen over the years and it’s something we didn’t really get to witness with the previous two iterations of the character.
Yeah I agree.
/rantmode: on
Ok, let's talk about THE worst scene in any Spider-Man or MCU movie: Peter Parker in a Dutch jailcell/village.
Once Peter's identity is established and he's feeling well again, he'll get a fine for riding the train without a ticket,
and be on the next flight to the USA.
If for some reason the train doesn't make an unscheduled stop to deal with this, they'll deal with it on the first scheduled stop,
which in The Netherlands for this train is Utrecht.
So can anyone explain to me how an unconscious Peter managed to stay hidden, get off the train at the final stop and travel 30 miles by bus to
Broek Op Langedijk?
(see link to Google Streetview below)
There are a couple of villages throughout The Netherlands that still look like a bit that, either because they are outdoor museums* or tourist-traps,
none anywhere near the track the train took though, so just as unlikely for Peter to end up in.
And we don't allow cattle to roam the streets freely, so the goat and the cow they put in this scene wouldn't be there.
(I know the scene was filmed in Spain, but they could've put more effort in making it look like The Netherlands, because this is insulting.)
/rantmode: off
*There are a couple of villages in The Netherlands that are labelled as 'museum', this is so they can be preserved and teach us about how things were in the past.

Well to be fair there are also people flying in the sky and beings from other dimensions.
@@TheKristianHarloff If they had depicted L.A. (or New York) according to all the stereotypes there are about Americans, and also getting every other detail in that scene wrong, wouldn't you be offended?
This movie is better than most of the forgettable marvel sequels but it's still missing something .I wouldn't put this above spiderman 1 2 or homecoming I think I'd even put amazing spiderman 1 over this movie . I wasn't a fan of how dumb Peter was in this movie with the glasses and it looks like he's gonna make another dumb mistake in no way home .
Curious on how it will pan out!
The whole Edith plot with Mysterio and Stark took me completely out. I’m glad the No way home villains aren’t tied to Stark too
@@Kenji-fm8kf yea that was a little annoying like I get it and it made sense but I'm tired of Tony stark being the biggest villian in the mcu even in death lol.
I don't see it that way but I see where you are going with the point.
This is one of my least favorite Spiderman movies. I just didn't care for this storyline at all. I did love Mysterio as the villian though.
It is funny I like this one more and more
Yea personally this is probably my least fav Spider-Man movie too. The jokes don’t land and I don’t really like Mysterio’s tie to Tony Stark. I sighed in the movie theater
This was another extremely enjoyable episode. :-)
Personally, my main issue with this movie is that the first 40 or so minutes felt like a complete "waste" to me.
Thank you once again SoulWarrior! Always glad to see the Warrior comment. This one does get better for me but I get your points!
