Thanks for the review. I've also been looking at the VoltBike Enduro (2020), which also has the Bafang M600 mid-drive motor. The M2S M600 FS sounded really loud, and that is probably a deal breaker for me. I wonder if the VoltBike Enduro is as loud.
Can you explain how you turn on the headlight? I have a luna x1 and saw that the controller display has a headlight icon, wondering how exactly it worked on this machine?
put a set of maxxis hookworm 2.5 on a 3.5 sumo izip rim and it worked like a charm for road despite what several shops thought . THis rig seems great for class 3 pedal cruising speeds . i
Yeah, they've been doing some good stuff. I was hoping to cover their bikes this year but got a little sidetracked with development. Hopefully in the near future :)
So many of the bikes that you review are really freaking expensive. Do you have a video list on your channel of good quality but less expensive ebikes?
This is not expensive for what you get. Full suspension mid-drive bikes have really been going down in price in the last few years. Sonders has a mid-drive full suspension Bafang m600 for about $2.5K. Check it out. I ordered one for myself.
A 3 inch tire is a happy medium??? A suspension seatpost? The right crank arm is 170 milimeter, and the left side crank arm is also 170 milimeter? What are the odds? You are not a biker, are you?
Yeah, as usual, these guys spend 90% of the vid showing us the buttons and virtually no riding, much less real mountain biking. Check out the Loam Wolf or something if you actually shred, this channel is a waste
The frame looks silly stupid. On the other hand, the Bafang M600 is a beast and can compete with the top brand names. Hopefully reliability is as good as well.
I want to know how this bike stands up on tough Moab style trails or Downieville. Is it make to handle trials? Is it a real mountain bike? The way you talk about this bike, it sounds like a poser comfort trail bike made for mom's that only occasionally take it on wussy graded trails by the river once in a while. Is this yo mama's bike, or what? Let us know, honestly, I'm to figure this out. If this is not a serious mountain bike, then why not?
I'm afraid I agree. Need mountains to test mountain bike. It is louder than other ebikes but if it gets you up steep hills with minimal effort, who cares?
Don't mean to be a dick, but this $3500 bike is poorly spec'ed with unsuitable parts (saddle/post/brakes, etc.) for any rigorous mountain biking. Plus it has an alloy frame and a cheap Chinese motor. For $4000, you could get a Canyon/YT ebike that's actually suitable for hardcore mountain biking. This bike is much more suitable for people who ride very easy fire roads 5 times a year. But someone like that does not need a $3500 bike. They need an $800 bike. If this bike was $1200-1500 then I could see it starting to make some sense.
All good points except the Bafang motor...everything I've seen about that motor is great... blows away almost anything else in a mid drive. I'm thinking of the Luna X1... $3500 gets you top spec stuff!
Hi Andri, we include these intros because we value transparency and want you to know how our business works so that you can make an informed decision. It's the same objectivity we use when recording stats, ranking bikes, and responding to comments. It's part of what makes us different than shops who perform reviews or promotional type reviews. We accept a standardized fee to keep our business running and that's where the business relationship ends. We also allow reviews to be promoted in specific categories and for shops to list their location on our map. In the future, just skip ahead 10 seconds if you don't want to see our little disclaimer :)
@@ElectricBikeReview I get it. I appreciate and value transparency. But the intro sets the tone for the entire video and it could be done differently. No offense meant to the reviewer, he's great.
Luna has a similar model called the X1. It has the same drive system, but has Rockshox front and rear, plus a dropper seat post. Same price $3.5K

How many Watts is this?. It states on their site 1500W. Is that correct? Also, there is no throttle?.
Can you explain how you turn on the headlight? I have a luna x1 and saw that the controller display has a headlight icon, wondering how exactly it worked on this machine?
If a large frame is good for you, how tall are you? I'm 5' 10" and i was looking at a medium?
put a set of maxxis hookworm 2.5 on a 3.5 sumo izip rim and it worked like a charm for road despite what several shops thought . THis rig seems great for class 3 pedal cruising speeds . i
Luna Cycle selling the same bike but Specs. are far superior. Better shocks, Carbon frame, more choices in sizings. and 5 pounds lighter.
Yeah, they've been doing some good stuff. I was hoping to cover their bikes this year but got a little sidetracked with development. Hopefully in the near future :)
Agree, I have one. Love it
looks like chain can catch the tire in first gear?
13:46 sounds like it does too
i wonder how this motor compaires to the TQ motor with 120nm as well
I think it’s 10% faster than Bosch CX 85NM and 5% weaker than TQ (only in 500W spec, with Luna controller it has twice the power)
So many of the bikes that you review are really freaking expensive. Do you have a video list on your channel of good quality but less expensive ebikes?
thats not expensive at all.
This is not expensive for what you get. Full suspension mid-drive bikes have really been going down in price in the last few years. Sonders has a mid-drive full suspension Bafang m600 for about $2.5K. Check it out. I ordered one for myself.
What's the best eMTB for 3k??
Hardball and bafang motor.
Excellent drivetrain.
Been looking at this bike , like that it comes in a large size . Integrated battery and mid shock . Like the value , is on my short list .
Sweet, I hope this video helped you out. We recorded all of the stats back at the site so you can compare and dig deeper.

Lol

Much better helmet!
The closed captioning is irritating
commin for to carry me home?
Wow
Cool
far too weak brakes for a bike of that weight and that motor.
Don't worry this guy will use it purely for flat fire roads.
i know, still sucks that even much better manufacturers put substandart brakes on their bikes.

The motor is more than capable but it needs some upgrades on the shocks and some of the components. It will then be legit.
The review is pretty bad. The motor makes tons of noise and he didn't even mention it. Didn't take to a real mountain bike terrains.
I'm afraid I agree. Need mountains to test mountain bike. It is louder than other ebikes but if it gets you up steep hills with minimal effort, who cares?

That intro needs to die

How long before criminals realize that bike-jacking these expensive e bikes is a profitable crime? Easy to hide and sell off.
All bikes are thief magnets
Lojak style tracking is the latest thing for ebikes... gonna help a lot!
