If I’m remembering right, there’s a raider group who actually used to be Minutemen but had no choice but to change their lifestyle to survive, and this playthrough lowkey felt like the reverse of that. I kinda like that actually.
I prefer playing as a Minutemen, however halfway through visiting Nukaworld, becoming the boss then finishing Minutemen to use them as pawns before i *delete* them and become the OVERBOSS. Of course the Institute into Overboss is my prefered method because in a headcanon world I can replace the bosses with Synths and turn Nukaworld into an outpost for the Institute to test things moving forward.
I'm terribly sorry. This went into being held. I forget to check there sometimes because not much gets pushed there! But yes. That sounds like quite the fun time! I may have to try that in the future (maybe not a challenge run but just to have fun with it)
I got plans: planting Minutemen and settlers to settlements, inviting the bos to the settlements after (only if they provide loot after killing them), then taking over every settlement as the Overboss.
To be fair the individual raider camps aren’t unified (outside maybe a couple exceptions) If raiders actually traveled around, they would totally fight one another. So in my mind, this run can be 100% cannon
nah, 1k isn't going to be the top of this, you keep making these and I'm betting in the next year or so you'll be easily over 100K min, sooner or later one of you're videos will get randomly plastered on everyone's recommended page then everyone who watches stuff like this will watch it, you'll randomly have a video with over 1 mil views and a ton of subs@@RiverPebbles

@RiverPebbles Don't think of it as pressure. Think of it as motivation. Just don't burn yourself out trying to make everyone happy. Part of what makes stuff like this so enjoyable is when you have fun and we get to have fun with you. I have seen many channels burn thenselves out trying to please people and genuinely hope you remember to take care of yourself as you take this journey.
I will just try to do my silly goofy thing and put out what I can when I can. I really want to make this a career and be able to put out more consistent (and potentially better) content, but we all have to start somewhere. It is overwhelming but I think I will enjoy this. It gives me the ability to say that I was able to do this thing, and not many people can say that.
@RiverPebbles You already have a good style that I'm sure you'll be able to polish. Over the last 15 years, I've watched a lot of channels grow, and honestly, you're starting out with better content than a lot of them. Keep doing your thing, and before you know it, you'll hit 1m and beyond.
You see, I would have if I was smarter and planned ahead. I also didn't want to implement any DLC for a first video, in the off chance that this is (for some reason) a viewer's first time seeing Fallout 4 content. If applicable for future videos, I will for sure hit up the different DLC's to make sure I am fully encompassing the challenge :)

RE Cannibal and companions: dogmeat, strong, automatons, and apparently gage are fine to take with you according to the wiki. Strong has other quirks that make me just leave him behind though. he hates picking locks and hacking, which is like 2/3rds of the whole ass game. 🤣

My brother in Christ you need a profile photo. I usually don’t click on channels that don’t have them, since it’s usually either older people or kids. But this video was a bop man.
It just takes a while as this is a hobby and not a career, so I have to balance my job, social stuffs, life things, etc. So I try to get it all looking/sounding good and get it out when I can!
I'm currently doing a survival run where I can only use pipe weapons and even with some good legendary armour and weapons, it becomes quite hard towards the later game or against high level enemies.
For anyone who cares I have a plasma infused bolt action sniper rifle in .50 cal., A Deadeye pipe rifle (slows time like Jet when aiming) chambered in .45 and a pipe revolver rifle with the Quickdraw legendary effect (uses less AP in VATS)
I mean I guess you could’ve got Gage as a companion, but that involves Nuka World, and then you need to resist doing the rest of Nuka World… I mean that or make a raider robot but they’re SLIGHTLY overpowered lmao
I wouldn't say million subscriber quality (there are definite audio issues that I hope I can fix as time goes on and just be better at editing), but look at it this way. 600 is a small enough number where I can attempt to give each and every one of you the time and attention you deserve for taking time our of your day to watch my stuff. :)
Hey man. Love the script and it feels really natural but I still feel I can see you reading that thing while I’m listening. Scripts are good yeah but I feel like what would be best for you is a bulleted list of things to talk and then just riff about those things to give your videos a more natural feel or just throw more improv type stuff so your voice doesn’t get ahead of your eyes. It’ll make it sound less like a presentation and more like a cool little tidbit vid

I haven't played FO4 in a few years. One of My last runs, I download a few mods that made raiders non hostile, allowed the deaths of the Concord survivors, and a few more not friendly mods. The down side is that at the time the mods did NOT allow any dialogue with the raiders. I still had a blast, captured Mama Murphy and Marcy, killed Preston, Jun, and Sturges. Went to Jared and "traded" Murphy and Marcy, to join his gang. It went well until I started having problems trading My ill gotten goods...Nuka-World tried to fixed that problem. Oh in My run I could NOT finish the main quest. Most factions shot at Me on sight. In another play through the mod allowed peaceful terms with the gunners...but that is another story.
have you tried "recycleactor"? it should reset NPC. 3 scenarios could happen after this command: 1. Preston becomes friendly again and you can progress the quest. 2. Preston becomes friendly but forgets everything you did so although you are at the very end he treats you like you met him for the 1st time in the museum. 3. Preston breaks completely and it is what it is.
Indeed. I have followed plenty of internet queries on the topic. It did not seem to work, which was unfortunate. However, the main issue with the game was solved. The institute was handled and there was only a few other things that I HAD to do to "finish" the game. I feel like I proved myself by the end
by all means - yes, it's a shame Bethesda doesn't actually allow player to finish the game as a raider in Nuka, at least not to my knowledge, haven't played the DLC in a long time (4y now I believe)
I mean, you can side with the raiders. Sure you cant side with all raider factions, but in the end, beeing a raider is the essence of nuka world. You can occupy settlments, threat settlers and fight side by side with other raiders. Also, a real raider would`ve robbed trashcan carla. Other than that, nice video. Edit: Ending the Game with the Minuteman isnt really in Character. Helping settlers against raiders is probably the last thing you should do. The Railroad would probably fit best, as they are the only faction without strong feelings against the raiders. The fact, that you tried to complety fallout 4 as a raider and got softlocked with the minuteman almost feels in character.
I didn't want to visit Nuka World because I would have been distracted with the "Oooh, shiny" sidequests because I love the Nuka World DLC. But the ending screwing me over, did seem in character. I hope Bethesda patches that out in a recent update.
If this is a cheeky way for you to make me suffer as Nerbit had to for his version of that challenge, there is a special place in Spider Hell for you. That being said, I play on PC and it seems he plays on console. I could "theoretically" do the same challenge, but use console commands to give me the proper weapon/ammo for the challenge while also going through the Nuka World DLC. I have ways around it, so if you genuinely want to see it done I can attempt to do it in my own way. Giving credit to the man that inspired me to attempt these random challenges in the first place. To add onto such a long comment, this challenge will be pushed down the list, as there have been other recommendations and other challenges I want to do before that. Also, the Stardew Valley challenge mentioned in this video is taking WAY longer than anticipated so it is going to be broken into parts (I'm assuming a 3-parter video series), so its going to be a bit until my next idea anyways.
That requires a perk I believe, and I didn't have too many of those to spare. Other people have also suggested some actions to get rid of them and I think I have a few solutions for the future!
A couple of caveats with those 1) My PC currently is not strong enough to even attempt to do that (8GB RAM because I am stupid while minimum for that game it 16GB) 2) I like to play through a game fully before I make challenge runs out of them so it would be a while before I would attempt one if I got the game. Hope this helps!! Maybe in the future but for now I cannot
The point initially was to record myself playing video games because I am playing them already, so why not record them for others to enjoy. It has evolved to add the challenge videos in the mix because I want to play game "incorrectly" and create something from the madness that comes out of it. Putting things together that I work so hard to get to. That, and to practice and my video editing skills for future other projects that I might work on.
can you beat fallout 4 as a synth? for example: you have to choose a person you want to kill and then you have to use their weapon' armor' for the rest of the game. of course you can sell stuff and get more ammo for your gun.

Not a bad idea for a challenge run but as a raider I feal you should add settlement to the places you can loot because you know your a raider that's kind the whole point of being a raider

Worried that I mucked it all up, I checked the audio on my phone and about half-mast I could hear it decently well. Some spots where it gets quieter (as I am a professional and set up everything perfectly all the time), but I believe that I could make it better by making things get louder. Yo, since you seem to have everything on lock, how do you think Subnautica challenge runs would do on TH-cam? Ive wanted to make them for a while now but ive never been confident about them being popular enough to warrant spending the time on it. Love the video btw!
"Seem to have everything on lock", my friend you misunderstand. I am just lucky. I have only done two challenge videos, and they have done very well for some reason. I barely know how this happened. With that being said, I think I am the perfect specimen to give advice. That advice is....just try it. The only downside that I can see, is that people won't watch it. Yes that sucks, but if you feel accomplished and content after creating the video and completing the challenge, that's all you need. You may hit gold. There may be a massive niche you aren't aware of and you can definitely build a following on that. I'm the wrong person to ask about this, because I have no idea how this happened, but I do want to say to follow your passions. As long as you can do it while being able to pay for everything. Some people are able to succeed by just dropping everything and following their passion, but that isn't always the case. I still work a job, I still have other things I need to do besides these videos. Yes they are fun (and I hate some of the things I have to do putting them together), but they are a passion. They don't consume my life. I still have priorities that I have to do, and these are done in my spare time. TL;DR: Just do it. You'll never know if they will "be popular" to others or not. If you want to, and can do so, do it. You may just luck out as I have :)
I pretty much always side with the BoS since I have a mod that lets me become its leader when it comes time to deal with Danse. My current playthrough has hit a roadblock however due to the fact that the only thing Father will say to me is the stuff about revealing he's shaun and I can't get past the Institutational quest without doing that since I don't want to kill Father. I want him to die in the nuke expolsene. I'm on Xbox so any help would be helpful. I also like going into the railroad headquarters with the BoS when I kill them and use a flamer to do so and I usually wear the X-03 Hellfire power armor that I also got from a mod to do so since I think it just makes sense.
Should have, but I would have considered that making it too easy. I only want to use power armor if it will make the challenge possible, or if it is part of the run! Besides, getting a power armor frame from raiders can be quite tricky, and saving up enough caps for that would take too long
Luck? Timing? The way I don't have a fancy channel picture? Possibly a few random reasons. But that doesn't matter. I'm cultivating people at a good pace in my eyes. I don't want to be crazy fast growing and let it get to my head. Slow and steady win the race :)

You are correct. I actually went through Nuka World in my Part 2 to this series. This was my first Fallout 4 video and didn't know how many people actually would watch this, so it isn't as good as I wanted it to be (most of my content could be summed up as "old man yells at magic box while playing electronic device"). However, I'm always trying to improve on my skills and be better as the weeks go on. Thank you for watching!

@@RiverPebbles lol i always play as Nuka-world..leave preston in the room and never save him. the use the railroad to ally with the institute. then clean up the railroad as loose ends, because they know to much. Use the robots to farm all my food, from the automatron dlc, for my settlements and raiders. Use the Vault 88 building to give them all great homes, slots, and soda. People in my enslaved settlements are happy, with nice homes, water , and free food. all with Nuka-World Protection force, the operators watch and protect the settlers, while the pack walks the roads killing enemies, with synth check-points and patrols. the Commonwealth is completely under my control as the OverBoss.
I use the mechanist lair to make scrap, make the cheapest robots and use the scrap stations, and pack the place. Also any settlement that can't be used by raiders or enslaved, makes supplies, and scrap for me.
That is very detailed and sounds like a great way to spend your time in the casual playthroughs. I don't think I would have the time, nor the mental fortitude to go through that and then try to toss it all into a video for you to enjoy. A very cool concept though!
You can lose caps by simply buying stuff from traders and selling it back to them. Also u looted a drifter while leaving sanctuary, was that intended or did you just forget about the challenge?
Then you're left with weird amounts of money. I have solutions for future videos so don't sweat it! As for the "drifter", if you're referring to the person across the bridge they are a Raider. It says so in their name when you hover over their corpse

You can align yourself with the raiders with the Nuka World DLC but I'm not entirely sure if the commonwealth raiders will be hostile or not
I don't think they will be friendly. I believe that they are separate so it won't work that way

Its almost a necessity. Such a loooong opening to a game, and I'm glad modders are able to make it go faster

It just takes a while as this is a hobby and not a career, so I have to balance my job, social stuffs, life things, etc. So I try to get it all looking/sounding good and get it out when I can!
I'm currently doing a survival run where I can only use pipe weapons and even with some good legendary armour and weapons, it becomes quite hard towards the later game or against high level enemies.
For anyone who cares I have a plasma infused bolt action sniper rifle in .50 cal., A Deadeye pipe rifle (slows time like Jet when aiming) chambered in .45 and a pipe revolver rifle with the Quickdraw legendary effect (uses less AP in VATS)
I mean I guess you could’ve got Gage as a companion, but that involves Nuka World, and then you need to resist doing the rest of Nuka World…
I mean that or make a raider robot but they’re SLIGHTLY overpowered lmao

Hey man. Love the script and it feels really natural but I still feel I can see you reading that thing while I’m listening. Scripts are good yeah but I feel like what would be best for you is a bulleted list of things to talk and then just riff about those things to give your videos a more natural feel or just throw more improv type stuff so your voice doesn’t get ahead of your eyes. It’ll make it sound less like a presentation and more like a cool little tidbit vid

You can store caps in containers. Just throw them in a bin if you have to get rid of them.

I haven't played FO4 in a few years. One of My last runs, I download a few mods that made raiders non hostile, allowed the deaths of the Concord survivors, and a few more not friendly mods. The down side is that at the time the mods did NOT allow any dialogue with the raiders. I still had a blast, captured Mama Murphy and Marcy, killed Preston, Jun, and Sturges. Went to Jared and "traded" Murphy and Marcy, to join his gang. It went well until I started having problems trading My ill gotten goods...Nuka-World tried to fixed that problem. Oh in My run I could NOT finish the main quest. Most factions shot at Me on sight.
In another play through the mod allowed peaceful terms with the gunners...but that is another story.

You could have put caps into workshops i thought
have you tried "recycleactor"? it should reset NPC. 3 scenarios could happen after this command:
1. Preston becomes friendly again and you can progress the quest.
2. Preston becomes friendly but forgets everything you did so although you are at the very end he treats you like you met him for the 1st time in the museum.
3. Preston breaks completely and it is what it is.
Indeed. I have followed plenty of internet queries on the topic. It did not seem to work, which was unfortunate. However, the main issue with the game was solved. The institute was handled and there was only a few other things that I HAD to do to "finish" the game. I feel like I proved myself by the end
by all means - yes, it's a shame Bethesda doesn't actually allow player to finish the game as a raider in Nuka, at least not to my knowledge, haven't played the DLC in a long time (4y now I believe)

I mean, you can side with the raiders. Sure you cant side with all raider factions, but in the end, beeing a raider is the essence of nuka world. You can occupy settlments, threat settlers and fight side by side with other raiders. Also, a real raider would`ve robbed trashcan carla. Other than that, nice video.
Edit: Ending the Game with the Minuteman isnt really in Character. Helping settlers against raiders is probably the last thing you should do. The Railroad would probably fit best, as they are the only faction without strong feelings against the raiders. The fact, that you tried to complety fallout 4 as a raider and got softlocked with the minuteman almost feels in character.
I didn't want to visit Nuka World because I would have been distracted with the "Oooh, shiny" sidequests because I love the Nuka World DLC. But the ending screwing me over, did seem in character. I hope Bethesda patches that out in a recent update.

If this is a cheeky way for you to make me suffer as Nerbit had to for his version of that challenge, there is a special place in Spider Hell for you.
That being said, I play on PC and it seems he plays on console. I could "theoretically" do the same challenge, but use console commands to give me the proper weapon/ammo for the challenge while also going through the Nuka World DLC. I have ways around it, so if you genuinely want to see it done I can attempt to do it in my own way. Giving credit to the man that inspired me to attempt these random challenges in the first place.
To add onto such a long comment, this challenge will be pushed down the list, as there have been other recommendations and other challenges I want to do before that. Also, the Stardew Valley challenge mentioned in this video is taking WAY longer than anticipated so it is going to be broken into parts (I'm assuming a 3-parter video series), so its going to be a bit until my next idea anyways.
To ‘get rid of caps’ maybe you could invest in vendors. Though that kinda goes against being a raider, could be handy sometime. 🤷🏻♂️
That requires a perk I believe, and I didn't have too many of those to spare. Other people have also suggested some actions to get rid of them and I think I have a few solutions for the future!
The mod 'stash those caps' will allow you to put caps into containers, so you xan get rid of caps as you choose.

A couple of caveats with those
1) My PC currently is not strong enough to even attempt to do that (8GB RAM because I am stupid while minimum for that game it 16GB)
2) I like to play through a game fully before I make challenge runs out of them so it would be a while before I would attempt one if I got the game.

The point initially was to record myself playing video games because I am playing them already, so why not record them for others to enjoy.
It has evolved to add the challenge videos in the mix because I want to play game "incorrectly" and create something from the madness that comes out of it. Putting things together that I work so hard to get to. That, and to practice and my video editing skills for future other projects that I might work on.
can you beat fallout 4 as a synth?
for example: you have to choose a person you want to kill and then you have to use their weapon' armor' for the rest of the game. of course you can sell stuff and get more ammo for your gun.

Not a bad idea for a challenge run but as a raider I feal you should add settlement to the places you can loot because you know your a raider that's kind the whole point of being a raider
I kind of did do this. I did the Minutemen questline and they require plenty of settlements to complete

Can you up the basic volume on future videos a few ticks? Even at full volume on my phone it's not audible if I have a little background noise around me
Worried that I mucked it all up, I checked the audio on my phone and about half-mast I could hear it decently well. Some spots where it gets quieter (as I am a professional and set up everything perfectly all the time), but I believe that I could make it better by making things get louder. Thank you for letting me know and I will make sure to up the volume by a point or two :)

Can't drop caps but you can drop items so spend the caps on stuff and drop all the stuff. Best way I know of at the least.

Yo, since you seem to have everything on lock, how do you think Subnautica challenge runs would do on TH-cam? Ive wanted to make them for a while now but ive never been confident about them being popular enough to warrant spending the time on it. Love the video btw!
"Seem to have everything on lock", my friend you misunderstand. I am just lucky. I have only done two challenge videos, and they have done very well for some reason. I barely know how this happened.
With that being said, I think I am the perfect specimen to give advice. That advice is....just try it. The only downside that I can see, is that people won't watch it. Yes that sucks, but if you feel accomplished and content after creating the video and completing the challenge, that's all you need. You may hit gold. There may be a massive niche you aren't aware of and you can definitely build a following on that. I'm the wrong person to ask about this, because I have no idea how this happened, but I do want to say to follow your passions. As long as you can do it while being able to pay for everything. Some people are able to succeed by just dropping everything and following their passion, but that isn't always the case.
I still work a job, I still have other things I need to do besides these videos. Yes they are fun (and I hate some of the things I have to do putting them together), but they are a passion. They don't consume my life. I still have priorities that I have to do, and these are done in my spare time.
TL;DR: Just do it. You'll never know if they will "be popular" to others or not. If you want to, and can do so, do it. You may just luck out as I have :)

I pretty much always side with the BoS since I have a mod that lets me become its leader when it comes time to deal with Danse. My current playthrough has hit a roadblock however due to the fact that the only thing Father will say to me is the stuff about revealing he's shaun and I can't get past the Institutational quest without doing that since I don't want to kill Father. I want him to die in the nuke expolsene. I'm on Xbox so any help would be helpful. I also like going into the railroad headquarters with the BoS when I kill them and use a flamer to do so and I usually wear the X-03 Hellfire power armor that I also got from a mod to do so since I think it just makes sense.
Quick question: couldn’t you have joined the nuka world raiders, and raided settlements during your play through?

You should have picked up some Raider power armor
Should have, but I would have considered that making it too easy. I only want to use power armor if it will make the challenge possible, or if it is part of the run! Besides, getting a power armor frame from raiders can be quite tricky, and saving up enough caps for that would take too long

I was so excited to find this video thinking that i just found another channel on my fav genre. unfortunately im not an anime fan or your channel will be a treasure trove. if you are looking for a few side projects, you can try dredge or inside. both are small bite sized games that will take around 3 videos. they might not fit the challenge format but are great for play thru

You are correct. I actually went through Nuka World in my Part 2 to this series. This was my first Fallout 4 video and didn't know how many people actually would watch this, so it isn't as good as I wanted it to be (most of my content could be summed up as "old man yells at magic box while playing electronic device"). However, I'm always trying to improve on my skills and be better as the weeks go on.

@@RiverPebbles lol i always play as Nuka-world..leave preston in the room and never save him. the use the railroad to ally with the institute. then clean up the railroad as loose ends, because they know to much.
Use the robots to farm all my food, from the automatron dlc, for my settlements and raiders. Use the Vault 88 building to give them all great homes, slots, and soda. People in my enslaved settlements are happy, with nice homes, water , and free food. all with Nuka-World Protection force, the operators watch and protect the settlers, while the pack walks the roads killing enemies, with synth check-points and patrols.
the Commonwealth is completely under my control as the OverBoss.
I use the mechanist lair to make scrap, make the cheapest robots and use the scrap stations, and pack the place. Also any settlement that can't be used by raiders or enslaved, makes supplies, and scrap for me.
Also make unkillable NPCs Caravans.
That is very detailed and sounds like a great way to spend your time in the casual playthroughs. I don't think I would have the time, nor the mental fortitude to go through that and then try to toss it all into a video for you to enjoy.

You can lose caps by simply buying stuff from traders and selling it back to them. Also u looted a drifter while leaving sanctuary, was that intended or did you just forget about the challenge?
Then you're left with weird amounts of money. I have solutions for future videos so don't sweat it! As for the "drifter", if you're referring to the person across the bridge they are a Raider. It says so in their name when you hover over their corpse
