Even at the end of this video, SWT concedes that it was "mostly canon" but his title hasn't been changed to reflect that.
@@Boristien405 You say that some Legends material is inconsistent and ridiculous in comparison to the movies, but I don't think most of it is at all. Before Disney's acquisition of Star Wars, a lot of the Legends material (some of which was still considered Canon), was pretty consistent with the movies and novels. It's really Disney's additions that polarized Legends material and "Canon." Most of the apparent "inconsistencies" in Legends are only here because of the new material that has recently come out. I remember when many complained about Palpatine's essence transfer in Legends and argued it didn't make sense compared to Canon. Then, what do we get in Canon? Practically the same exact thing we did in Legends. Yet, no one has really complained that it's ridiculous, rather that it undermines Anakin's arc. If we look at all Star Wars material before Disney, I would argue that almost all of the Old Republic is consistent and plausible with the Canon. There are a few things that don't follow suit in the events after Return of the Jedi, but I still like most of it. And it is absolutely not a reasonable argument to bring up the knock-off stories like the "What If?" situations to claim they are inconsistent with Canon; of course they are, it's obviously not a part of the main story (I'm not saying you are saying this, but I have seen some bring that up before). I don't think Legends is all perfect, it's far from it. But a lot of the material was pretty consistent before Disney came in. I also hate seeing the argument that certain characters are just overpowered in Legends compared to Canon. Don't get me wrong, some are a bit ridiculous, but I think it makes sense for the most part. During the Old Republic and before it, wars ensued constantly, so it only makes sense that Jedi, Sith, and the intermediates would practice any means necessary to defeat the enemy. Which, of course, means extremely more powerful characters than we've seen in the movies. Legends after Return of the Jedi isn't as reasonable. My main complaint would be against the Yuzhaan Vong. They basically come out of nowhere and are insanely powerful in military might. That's just one example. There's plenty of problems with Legends, but it's not all to blame for the inconsistency compared to current Canon. I think I have more problems with Canon than Legends right now...

Alec continued to say "It had vigour and I finished it at a sitting. Was that normal? No, not at all. But it's a jolly good sign. Totally been subscribed for about 2 years! Love the content! Always finding something new, and many many late nights I’ve fallen asleep to wake up to your videos still playing, not because they are boring or anything, Star Wars stuff just soothes me....
Don’t worry about your subs, we’re still flying half a ship!
Your voice is so soothing if I try and watch these and I’m lying on my bed I’m fast asleep in about five minutes so never get to finish them
Video title: *canon only*
10:38 "... Mostly in canon, some in legends..."
Ironic...
Obi-wan Kenobi is my favorite character in all of Star Wars :)
A very good character. Wish that he was explored a little more.
Obi-Wan Kenobi, what a legend. He beat and became the high ground...
Literally has the best lines for prequals lmaooo He’s such a great character and both actors played him perfectly
Me during quarantine: Help me Obi Wan Kenobi your my only hope.
Obi Wan: “ Hello There”
Grevious: "General Kanobi"
NamekianGaming2 General Kenobi
General kenobi
*cough in droid*
GENERAL KENOBI!
YOU ARE A BOLD ONE!
HAHAHA!
KILL HIM!
Obiwan has actually had 4 sabers in canon. He used Qui-Gon’s green blade for a short time between episodes 1 and 2 when he was training anakin.
Unfortunatly Hayden Christensen lacked any real onscreen presence, he lacked "power". But, Ewan McGregor had all of it plus a real "Swashbuckling" take on a Jedi. He alone made the prequels (2&3) worth watching.
AND the music
@@blitzgnu And Ian McDiarmid going full panto in RoTS. :D
@@shugaroony Sure :D
"CANNON ONLY....mostly from cannon" :P
Glad to have these types of videos back!

@@edc.productions Oh um... it's ok Anakin?
I'm not sure if you know this but I'm not the Obi Wan you know. I'm from a different Universe. In my Universe I didn't fail you. I don't know what Obi Wan you belong to.
Hello there
Oh I’m still sorry master
Dosen't enjoy flight, but is an expert pilot
Dosen't like guns, but he is an expert marksman
Dosen't like violence, but he is an expert duelist

It was in 1975, two years before the release of Star Wars,the script had arrived at Alec Gunniness's home at Petersfield, he stated I quote;
"The script came through the door and the moment I saw a Sci-fi sticker on it, I said to myself "Oh crumbs, it's not for me" But I started to read it and I had to turn the page." Alec continued to say "It had vigour and I finished it at a sitting. Was that normal? No, not at all. But it's a jolly good sign. I don't apply any professional "technique" If that's the word, when I read scripts. But if I am held then I think there's a chance the public will be held too. Probably the last time I went through a film script so swiftly was when James Kennaway's Tunes of Glory came into my hands" end quotes. He believed the script had potential.
That is one thing Lucas is excellent at, building a framework, and its one of the main reasons Star Wars was - and remains - successful. However he is truly awful when it comes to dialogue, which is why you hear many actors in the Star Wars saga complain about it. Guinness was one of the best character actors in history, he was used to a higher standard of dialogue, however I'm sure he was happy enough once the royalties started flooding in. :D
@@shugaroony 2.35 of all Star Wars profits went to Sir Alec Guinness. In 1977 that was worth £3.3 million. Over the years he earned upwards of £75 million from the Trilogy. Nice pension pot for him.
@@bri5490 And he deserved it for all the great work he did over the years. And his presence helped centre the original film to stop it meandering into nonsense.
Best ever thanks for the info i just started the trawn trillogy thanks to you
Obi-wan went into quarantine light years early🤣🤣🤣
The Master of The Highground😂 No the novel "Master and Apprentice" is Amazing👍
On your next top 10 video you should make a top 10 saddest star wars moments. Also you should include the TV shows like the clone wars or rebels as well.
Ah yes, the negotiator.
Getting my ANH Obi-Wan lightsaber any day now!! 🙌🏻

Hi
JB Vids I AM THE REAL LORD OF THE SITH I AM DARTH JAR JAR
Dave Nesser no that’s not true that’s impossible
JB Vids many things do not seem true
Let`s not forget when he disguised himself as Rako Hardeen and carried everyone through all tests in Moralo Evals box, which were close to impossible for the other bounty hunters to pass through.
That was a good story, one of the better Clone Wars arcs.
Hey Mr. Theory, I've been a sub for the last six months or so and I gotta say I love your content and hope to see more coming for a long time! Keep up the good work and stay healthy!! May the Force be with you
The beginning of this was the equivalent of when kids make a PowerPoint to convince their parents of something and I love it
Ewan McGregor did the best job of any star wars actor change my mind
Great video as always! Love hearing new things about Obi Wan as well
*Just thought of a brilliant meme while watching this*
Sheev, as Rey is about to murder him in Ep 9: _Good Empress Palpatine, good. Kill me. Kill me now._
Rey, in Anakin: _I shouldn’t - it’s not the Jedi Way!_
Sheev: *DEWIT! MAKE THE SACRIFICE!!!*
My favorite character in all of star wars!
I loved seeing him in Star Wars Rebels episode “the twin suns”.
Gingersnap0369 yes it was
Same here. I watched the whole of Star Wars Rebels every season and episode. And the episodes with Obi Wan and the duel between him and Darth Maul brilliant episodes. One of the best duels I seen. I'm glad he won because finally one day maul needed to go.
Harry Page yeah, the scene literally gave me chills as of how much I’ve loved Star Wars and the characters
I love this guy’s voice
[Canon Only] and some legends, lol
Been subscribed for like 3 years and I watch and thumbs up everything you do
Good luck scrolling through these comments without seeing an obi wan quoteXD

Hello there
HELLO THERE!
Danese you are a bold one
You're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.
As close as they were... can you imagine if Anakin and Obi Wan had been inducted together into the Order? Like still being friends like they were during the clone wars.
