@@Nate-Turner23 Not only that, but the whole ball started rolling in The Phantom Menace when Qui Gon died during the duel of the fates. The first and most impactful duel of the fates, for Anakin's fate and all those he would later go on to harm or destroy. That's why I appreciate Anakin's attitude in Attack of the Clones. It wasn't like he was "whiny" for no reason, he had nobody to confide in except Padme and the dark lord of the sith himself. The Jedi constantly pressured him to avoid attachment.

@@Nate-Turner23 Frankly, the biggest was Ahsoka leaving. The Jedi, maybe not the Council specifically, but many Jedi, some on the Council, tried to help him. But he didn't trust them, because all of them, save for Plo Koon, voted against Ahsoka, and betrayed his trust. And so, he barely trusted them, let alone listened to them. Plus, Ahsoka wasn't there to help him.

I watched Return of the Jedi as a 10 year old child in the movie theater. It was one of the memorable movies experiences that I ever experienced. The scene when Palpatine was shocking Luke with the force lightning was intense. And then when Vader picked up the Emperor to save his son the whole theater erupted in cheers.

    • @JenniferKokoski
      @JenniferKokoski 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

I was 13 when return of the Jedi came out. I saw it three times in the theaters this was before we had VHS tapes and could rewatch it multiple times at home. If you wanted to see it again, you paid to go. And every time I watch this movie I was literally on the edge of my seat the last 30 minutes. To see the three conflicts constantly interchanging on the screen. Knowing that they were deciding the fate of the galaxy for centuries to come. Would evil win against good. With the death Star take out the rebel fleet. Would our heroes on the moon be overwhelmed and wiped out? Who knew. And the emperor's cackling baiting evil voice narrating the whole thing Made your blood boil. When Luke is being tortured to death you felt yourself cringing as if you were being struck with lightning. And when Darth Vader suddenly changes, grabs the emperor and throws into his death you felt this great release. All this tension built up over three movies and almost 10 years meant that good definitely triumphed over evil in the end. It was a wonderful fairy tale to grow up with. I don't think anything that's come after has captured that magic.

@@Dustyholes The OT are classics and well remembered. The prequels (and sequels, for that matter) are well remembered but aren't classic, nor will they ever be. Prequels aren't well received and beloved in a way for them to reach a classic status. Yes, many classics were given bad reviews back in the day (The Thing, Blade Runner), but the prequels haven't aged like that. They're still weakly written, acted, edited etc.
They're not movies that will be loved by audiences 40 years from now in the same way the OT is now in 2020, nor have they had a similar cultural impact.

@Senior SEO Specialist It can't "set the tone for the whole saga" when 3 of the movies came out decades before it. ANH set the tone for the whole saga. The prequel trilogy as a whole did a good job of being creative with new worlds, aliens, and lore, but Phantom Menace as a film is just a mess. You should watch documentary on the making of it (it's free on TH-cam). It's really eye-opening and I think us much better than the actual movie itself. Plus it shows why it became such a trainwreck.

While it maybe didn't set the tone for the franchise it certainly set the scene, one of the things I find so frustrating about episodes 4-9 (Dont hate them btw) is how vague and simplistic the explanations for everything is everything is (Palpitine somehow came back, endless supplies of doomsday machines etc). Episodes 1-3 put what's going on into context and that's super important to some people but I appreciate that its not so important to others.

      1. Empire Strikes Back
      2. Revenge of the Sith
      3. Return of the Jedi
      4. A New Hope

      11. Rise of Skywalker
      12. Courage of Caravan
      13. The Last Jedi
      14. A Holiday Special
I really enjoy the original trilogy alot. The prequels I enjoy way more than the sequels. The sequels for me are really disappointing. I did like the 2 spin off films though. Those make more sense than the sequels which I feel contradict the movies. I dont consider than sequels canon but fan Fiction. For starters they contradict Vader being the chosen 1 to bring balance to the force accomplished ep 6. Now your saying that doesnt matter anymore and now have all these new characters 30 years later with no full explanation on what happened. My other 2 biggest problems with the sequels is
      1. I dont like any of the new characters
      2. There is way many questions left unanswered all 3 movies. When I saw the prequels and original trilogy I didnt have tons of questions being confused on stuff left unanswered.

Theres so many children or people who arent old enough too see RotJ in theatres love Sith because its the first not bad star wars movie they saw live. Many also like the dark aspect, although I hardly cared for Anakins character ark because he's an unlikeble dick and a failure up until he saves Lukes ass.
Revenge of the Sith so beloved and its problems are so casually overlooked that its gotten too be overrated.

@@joebuck4957 I dont get why so many hate on the prequels and love the sequels better. The prequels are not perfect, well the 1st and 2nd have some boring moments with the court room stuff. But the action, jedi battles, and main heros and villians are far more interesting and entertaining to watch vs the sequels in my opinion.
So many great epic fights, wars and battles in ep1, 2, and 3. The same cant be said for the sequels.
Now let's compare the main hero and villians each films.
Obi Wan overall is the main hero of the 3 but we also have qui gon, anakin sort of gray until he turns bad ep 3. Yoda, and Mace plus the rest of the jedi council.
Than for villians it's mainly Darth sidious but there is also darth maul, count dokku, and general Grievous.
In sequels we have rey poe and finn. And for villians hux, Snoke, and kylo ren.
In my opinion these new characters are way worse than the ones I mention in the prequels.

My favourite is revenge of the sith as well. Although anakin moans in attack of the clones and he does it quite a lot some of it is justified like his mother being beaten and eventually because of it dying. I love that scene as well. What I like is the chase through Coruscant and Anakin showing off his piloting skills and Obi-Wan getting terrified 😂. And the geonosis arena scene.
    My ranking list is:
    III
    II
    VI
    V
    I
    IV
I don’t want to rank the sequels because one I’ve never seen the rise of Skywalker and two I never liked the last Jedi even though I bought it or had it bought for me I’ve only watched last Jedi once and that was in cinema. As for spin offs I’ve watched rogue one and I kind of like it some bits were cool. I’ve never seen solo or kenobi. The tv shows of the clone wars I liked but I personally would only base the rankings on the films.

In my opinion the best one is the original Star Wars film. The characters are at their best, the writing, pacing, characters, all perfect. It’s simple, but such a well crafted film. Easily the best written Star Wars film, with the best characters, best world-building, best pacing, and so much more. Empire did improve in many areas but I do still prefer the first Star Wars film. Return of the jedi, is too immature, The prequels are… Yikes.. The Sequels are just the originals but worse, and Rogue One was fine, with Solo being cool just not as good. And Empire, being marginally worse than the original film.

Revenge of the Sith is definitly the best out of the 9 Skywalker films. It shows the machinations of Palpatine comi g to fruition and seemed believable. Even the hiccup of Yoda surviving and Vader being chopped up and burnt, he was able to adapt to it.

    • @BattleDamageProps
      @BattleDamageProps 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@Max the prequels were so light hearted and kiddie that by the time you get to the child murdering fall of Anakin Skywalker it was such a change of pace and tone from what we've been watching. It has some of the best delivered dialog. Watch that obi wan scene where he's telling anakin how he loved him and he was the chosen one. Ewan McGregor is doing that surrounded by a green screen and still emotes so amazingly well.
The movie shows the failure of the Jedi, the nuanced point of view that 'good' jedi vs 'evil' is more of a point of view then entrenched fact. The Sith are ruthless and machiavellian in their machinations but that's because they believe they can rule the best. The jedi order and Senate have become so corrupt that it allowed for the trade federation to enact a genocide on Naboo and allowed some one like Palpatine to manipulate it.
The manipulation and fall of Anakin is actually believable. Unlike watching palpatine try and manipulate Rey.
Also. Best lightsaber battles out of any of the starwars. The fight between anakin and obi was wasnt sped up. It was that well rehearsed.
Watch the Rise of Skywalker the watch the Revenge of the Sith to see the contrast.

      @Max overdone or...epic🤣.

    • @BattleDamageProps
      @BattleDamageProps 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@Max wasnt it though? It almost mirrored it in concept. Anikin is obviously the more aggresive fighter. Just like maul. He's controlling the majority of the fight. Just like maul. There is a lull in the battle (when they are flying around in the lava). When Obi Wan takes the high ground it puts anakin into a position that obi wan was in. When he was hanging off the side of that pit, maul had the high ground. He even told Anakin to give up, even though younger obi wan wouldnt have either. Maul got sliced in two but lived to become a menace in canon. Anakin lived and became Darth Vader. There are a lot of similar beats between those two fights. It's not surprising because George Lucas likes to mirror his stories or aspects of them. Now if only we had Darth Jar Jar 😥

I always loved episode 6 when I was younger but as I got older I came to love Anakin’s character and Obi-Wan’s character so I would have to say that episode 3 is my favorite now! Your list is extremely similar to mine, love the originals and prequels. Couldn't get into the sequels as much knowing they were riding the coattails of the earlier movies. Glad to see I'm not crazy for liking the prequels and recognizing their cool spot in movie history. I really enjoyed your list and the explanation for each ranking. It was great seeing a list that didn't have ANH and TESB as the Top 2 (although those are my personal favorites). The Last Jedi is dead last on my list too and is really the only Star Wars movie I outright didn't enjoy. I remember when the most controversial thing in Star Wars was Kylo Ren’s cross-guarded lightsaber, now the whole trilogy is controversial The new Trilogy doesn’t have the Classic Star Wars transitions between scenes and now that the new shows have come out I see that they did include those transitions and it makes it more of the star wars experience As a 90's kid, I always loved the prequels. I saw episodes IV to VI first because of my brothers but the prequels were always special to me. I'm glad you did this vídeo! Great one 🙌🏼
Revenge of The Sith is very underrated. Glad to see someone appreciating it! It’s very interesting to see someone’s opinion who likes the prequels and originals equally Episode 5 was my favorite as a kid until Episode 3! Revenge of the Sith is my absolute favorite. Anakin's confusion and turmoil, the action, epic intro, Mustafar lightsaber battle, epic lines! "Hello there"; "I hate you", the parallel scene between Padme giving birth and Vader's operation was brilliant. The ending was a perfect transition to the next trilogy.
I watched Return of the Jedi as a 10-year-old child in the movie theater. It was one of the most memorable movie experiences that I ever experienced. The scene when Palpatine shocks Luke with the force of lightning is intense. And then when Vader picked up the Emperor to save his son the whole theater erupted in cheers. Yeah, speaking of the experience of seeing the original trilogy in the theater...
I guess when Vader told Luke that he was his father, it was a mind-blowing surprise reveal. And everyone was shocked. Kinda weird to think about for most, since it's one of the most famous lines in movie history. Many people hear the line before they watch the movie. I know I did. My top 4 have to be Revenge of the Sith, Empire, and Rogue One in that order. I think those 3 have the best action, plot, and characters. It is so refreshing to see somebody who doesn't crap on the prequels and states their honest opinion. Great channel. Everyone told me I was crazy for episode 3 being my favorite. Anakin’s story arc made him one of my favorite characters of all time too. Everyone is hard on him cause he’s the chosen one. All he wants to do is good, but he’s emotionally messed up because of the hardships he had growing up and the dogmatic ways of the Jedi. When he has the vision of Padme dying, he can’t even tell anyone cause of the Jedi code. Sheev was the only one “trying” to save his wife even if it for his own selfish ways. Anakin saw no other choice but to turn and save Padme. It’s far from a perfect movie, but it’s a damn good one with some great moments. Glad he appreciates it too!

I tend to go back and forth between Empire & ANH but why I lean more towards Empire is the fact all the characters have been introduced already and I like that there is a history there. First, like you, is episode 3. I think this is my favorite because it feels like the moment where star wars wanted to include major pieces of lore into the overall connecting franchise. When I say this i mean events like order 66. I also love how it starts the movies that started it all, it's kind of funny how that works.
For my second choiceI honestly don't know, I think episode 1 would be my top choice of this section but all other movies go into this section except for the sequels
Now this is the sequals section and my least favorite section. Idk but I just don't really like any of them but my least favorite is the force awakens because it just feels like a total copy cat of a new hope and the return of the Jedi. I think Rogue one is extremely underrated. It puts the “war” and “Star Wars.” It really was a war movie. It showed the sacrifices you have to make in war and it felt different in a good way for me. They gave us likable characters and had a sad yet also hopeful ending.
Edit: I know is cringe and I’m sorry but this is a miracle. My most liked comment is a super opinionated statement that also disagrees with the guy in the video. That’s insane. Thanks.

The clones I like especially seeing them March on their ships in front of the senate and Palpatine is cool foreshadowing for the next film as well. The politics is cool as in real life a war is fought off the back of politics and would be unrealistic without the senate scenes. The midi-chlorians were perfect and showed how powerful with the force you can be.

Ep 3 (p e a k. I only wish we had more time to see anakins conflict more directly. I feel him turning wouldn't have been just 10 minutes on screen. I know it was a slow process but in general but i wanted to see just a tad more struggle when the transitionreally started)
Ep 1 (loved it. Jarjar is funny and harmless leave him alone)
Ep 6 (seeing luke grow and hearing the sorrow in vaders voice when he says "it's too late for me" was amazing!)
Ep 2 (a great movie with a few OK scenes but some amazing ones too)
Rogue One (high tension especially towards the end. Loved vaders scenes too! Perfect chapter 0 to ep 4)
Ep 5 (I didn't gel with this as much. But maybe that will change after watching it after hearing your thoughts)
Ep 9(some really badass moments but it's a continuation of 8 so... its gonna loose something unfortunately)
Ep 4 (I love it but it has some kinks. It's cheesy but it's the 1st. It's nonetheless FUN!)
Ep 7 (again I really liked it. But it relies on the originals waaayyy too much.)
Ep 8 (I like it the least... by far! Still some good scenes though. Also. I didnt believe lukes exile.)
Solo. I just didn't like it that much. Not for me. Sorry

My favorites are definitely Episodes 1-6. I’m also a huge Prequel fan. Hard to put them in order. Empire Strikes Back and Attack of the Clones are usually my top two (Jango is probably my favorite Star Wars character also Han) Episode I has so much nostalgia for me as a kid being excited for the new (at the time) Star Wars movie. I also think it gets too much hate.
As far as the Disney movies go. I’m sorry they are mostly trash.
Rogue One was good and Solo was decent (want to see crimson dawn play out)
    Episode VII was ok-ish
The other two are equally as horrible with bad character development and confusing ends that have endless unanswered questions.
They did nothing worth while with Finn’s character, Rey was just so good at the force with zero training, Kylo had potential to be a true bad ass and turned into a pussy, and the rest of it was filled with blue check mark SJW crap. You can tell Rose Tico was tossed in just because “we need an Asian”. And Laura Derns purple hair made me want to puke. Not to mention they completely made Anakin’s character arc virtually useless.
The Mandalorian was pretty darn good (not happy about the Way they did Gina)
The book of Boba Fett had high hopes but is starting to slip with some cringy stuff, but is still not too bad.
The Clone Wars series was fantastic!
Rebels wasn’t too far behind, but cringy at times.

Phantom Menace is criminally underrated. It's the story of an adoptive father betting everything in his world on the success of his son. The people closest to Anakin would be Padme and Obi-Wan, but neither of them believed they should bet their entire mission on Anakin at the pod race. Qui-Gon did, and he would've sacrificed his career to give the boy the opportunity to become his best self.

He went on to explain that Revenge of the sith is undebatably the most cinematically brilliant and beautiful movie and the originals were also his favourite, but he said that Rogue one was a brilliant story but also gave such amazing info on all of the films and tied so much together which he loved, he said he grew so much love for the other films because of Rogue one and thats why it is his favourite. I also hate the batman movie with heath ledger for the same reason. . . . it should not be difficult for me to stay awake through a good movie. I definitely slept through most of that batman movie that everyone loves. . . . but now that im thinking of it and trying to remember the movie. . . . it is sort of baffling to me that people like it so much. I remember waking up at one point and there was a weird robot looking villain surfing on lava. . . . did I dream that? or was it really that dumb. . . . cuz I remember waking up and then consciously deciding to go back to sleep at that point, cuz the lava just felt like i'd rather be sleeping now, then playing lava monster like i'm still five years old. so I chose to sleep, at the lava scene. it seemed like a better use of my time.

A new hope is the worst of the original trilogy. Its plot is unoriginal and it has some cheesy dialogue with substandard acting at times. It also has some plot points that either don't make sense, conflict with other, or are just dumb.

@@joshmundy895 Well what you call unoriginal and cliche was pretty much invented in the first Star Wars. The way we view ANH now didn't happen in 1977. I would say it was probably the greatest movie of its time. That's why I believe movies are best viewed considering the mindset of the time it was released in. With modern day standards it's just harder to appreciate older movies because we've seen it all.
I'd say episode 6 is the worst of the original trilogy for exactly your reasons.. It's unoriginal. Another Deathstar..; Empire's "legion of best soldier" defeated by Ewoks.. The movie was only saved by Luke's and Anakin's redemption.

I have a soft spot for the prequel trilogy as well since I was a kid when they came out and it was my generation's star wars. I didn't care to much for attack of the clones though
