Thanks Buck for the video!! Your mega series on the engel generator has been so informative 👌🤣 now we know it will run the AC in the van which we just weren’t sure of.. looking forward to more vids in the series of the Jayco van 👍🏻 😊
Just a tip, use fuel conditioner and stabiliser in the genie fuel, as it keeps the fuel fresh and it is easier to start after a long spell on non-use. Before I used fuel stabiliser I had to drain the generator fuel bowl to get fresh fuel in there.
Hey Buck, if it hasnt been said already, you can get a 10A to 15A adapter from Anaconda for $70. Cheaper then the $150 one you said from bunnings and it works a treat. I have it and use it currently and have no dramas with it.
Thanks Buck, that's a good piece for everyone. Buck, how strange. I recently bought an Engel 2300is which has dual 15A sockets (I'm sure that yours does 😁). 2,500W is peak, 2,300 is running wattage. 2.3KW is 2.3KVA with a Power Factor of 1. KW is a function of KVA, in that W=V x A. BTW, with that length of cords, there'll be some voltage drop at the caravan. Over 30m, a 10A cable at 2.5 mm squared, voltage will drop by 5.5V
@@Aphony66 Voltage drop on AC can be an issue. I've seen 2 x 30m, 15A cables run from a genny (less noise, the further away) - and they wondered why they couldn't run their A/C and boil a kettle.
The LED in the lead is "flashing" due to the frame rate of the camera. Same thing happens with daytime running lamps, the LED digital readout on your gennie, LED signs etc. LED blink at an extremely fast rate, it's just the frame rate of the camera picking that up. Also, the lights inside your caravan operate on 12v, ie from your house battery. The lights will work even if the shore/240v/gennie power isn't connected (as long as your house battery is charged sufficiently!)
Oh Goodie. Part 24. Let me pull out the leg rest on the sofa. 🤣...... Wouldn't it be better to double check the current rating on the airconditioner first? By the way, It wasn't Fuller .. it was me (Insert Jim Carey in the elevator scene here). P.S. kW and kVA are essentially the same if not considering power loss. For generators the formula is Apparent power (kVA) x power factor (pf) = actual power (kW) and the power factor varies but is typically around 0.8 and has to do with efficiency of the power conversion. So I'd guess that they rate the Engel at around 92% efficient which would be 2300 = 0.92 x 2500 - just a guess......
Go the Engel should be great on hot days in the next episode maybe see what else you can run while the aircon is on ps it was @ACAFWD who released part 21 of your generator parodies 😂😂 me and the wanderer were unpaid actors 😂
Mate I am an idiot. The Engel also has a 15 amp plug. Pays to look closer. The Engel was half the price and has a bit more watts than the Honda. I wanted a Honda. The price drove me away unfortunately.
@@stuartkcalvin this is from where I sourced my info, kW is the unit of real power and kVA is a unit of apparent power (or real power plus re-active power). The power factor, unless it is defined and known, is therefore an approximate value (typically 0.8), and the kVA value will always be higher than the value for kW.
@@LandySmurf The power factor is 1 with peak power and 0.92 at running power (2.3/2.5). Using the correct power factor will produce a KVA lower than KW.
Yes another Engel generator clip! Great video Buck👍
Looks like a grand van Buck, great to see you and Ros in one. I remember you talking about one before you bought the Jawa. Happy camping mate!
Really good vlog Buck, thoroughly enjoyed it! ❤️🇦🇺🦘

The Engel has a 15amp power point so I found out so I didn't need that ampfibian 10 to 15 amp thing.
@@Mrbuckaroonie.. yes that comment was really helpful too!! We are on a huge learning curve right now. Pickup the van in December.. very excited !!! 🤩
lovely ep and setup and good onya Raffa, Maybe the battery in your remote mite be getting a bit flat,

Votage drop on AC is not an issue. Voltage drop on DC is a huge problem.

Good one Buck ! 👍👍🍻🍻
I have a Truma aircon Buck.
Yes you need to point the remote close to the unit.
Even to change the temperature.
I have the same generator, I'm sure you know it's a 15 amp outlet on the Genny. Mine powers the caravan AC nicely.
Well I'll be buggered. I must admit, I never even looked at the bloody plug. After all that, i did not need the ampfibian. What a goose i am.
@@Mrbuckaroonie.. well hopefully this helps lol
@@dennist-drums I am a deadset Diddlydonk mate. 🤣
Hey Buck if you look the Engel generator runs 15amp outlets
I have an older 2kva Honda its got the 15amp. Funny thing is I use it on my house.
You can buy a 15amp lead with a 10amp male plug! 👍
Good to know it’s capable, thanks.
Poor Rafa didn’t look impressed about bath time & washing off his
special la pew perfume 🤣
HANG ON ! Buck & Raff are making a video 😅 let's start a mower
Very informative, thanks buddy
Try the 15amp straight into the generator, it fits my Honda
Yeah it fits
👍👍thanks Buck, currently in Blackbutt and life is good 👁️👁️😎😇🐕🦺❤️🇦🇺
The reason the camera footage is flashing is due to your settings, I think we are 50hz here, Make sure your settings are 24fps and on PAL I believe

Very bad actors at that too!!!! lol
Hot air or terrible noise? That is a question.
Maybe the other way around Buck, the human eye can't pick up the flashing light, but the camera can ?
Yeah never thought of that mate.
@Mrbuckaroonie.. great video looking at generators didn't know about the 10amp to 15 thing from bunnings, cheers
Buy a Honda - quality gen and has a 15amp plug
