I'm part of a potato farm and we just got a DJI M350 for doing field mapping and scouting with an ndre camera attachment. This'll be our first year with it and we're excited to be able to monitor plant health like never before. With that information at our disposal, being able to spot spray where we have nutrition deficiencies or insect damage would be a great asset. Naturally, I think a drone to spot spray would be excellent and our farm. I just watched another video where the P100 had better payload, battery life, and flight time. I wanted to go DJI but thought the efficiencies of the P100 might push us the other way. After this review, those advantages are inconsequential when it comes to DJI's ease of use. The time saved in flight planning and higher quality execution far out weigh the P100's good marks. The fact we already have the M350 just makes this a no brainer. Thank you for the review.

I used to operate xag xp2020, and yes you right, XAG need time to understand how it's works, and tons of headache, the best thing is durability and modular build. I've crashed and falling from 20 feet to bushes and the only broken part is propeller. DJI are peace in mind on software and flight control until it crashed or broken 😂

I was thinking about getting a p100 pro . But my concern was the Software even before this video.. i like the beigger tank and ez tank removal and the 4 motors over the 8 . I also saw a Comparison between these 2 and the XAG was a faster spraying drone. But have an easy to use software And remote makes a big difference. I run john deere sprayers because there software is Superior it just works ! Time is money Especially when you have a time sensitive spray application. I'm still considering both, but thanks for the video.

There's drone as you know it (2 hands busy to play) or to get job done (1 hand, all with one thumb, not an fpv racing drone or filming anyway). Flying with both manufacturers, just do the math and pick the one, farming is bussines anyway. XAG has bugs in soft all the time, but also many ways to avoid them, DJI has better soft and communivation, but much slower at work. XAG for more work done, DJI for easy to operate out of box.
p.s. If you promoted your company with this video, manual flying should be cut off, you are teaching to fly afterall!

Greetings from Australia, I know exactly how you feel with your frustration with XAG drones, I’ve owned a P30 for the last few years and have finally written it off. it’s been the biggest disappointment to my contract spraying business.
The P30 was buggy, had a mind of its own, obstacle avoidance basically non existent and the RTK would time out all the time resulting in Large GPS deviations often resulting in crashes. I haven’t made a cent out of my P30 and was thinking the P100 pro would be so much better, think I will steer clear of it this time 😬

    • @Charles-fl5vx

Hey Joel you can’t compare the P30 with a DJI T40 is simply not build in the same era. The XAG P30 was build and designed back in 2018 and the DJI T40 is build and designed in 2022. So the fair comparison is DJI T40 with the XAG P100 and in our case here in Australia is the P100Pro to DJI T40, because they still don’t have the DJI T50 here yet in Australia except for the test units.

And now for my bullet points ...
    1. Something is not right from the get go. At take off, all motors should start simultaneously, your right rear starts before the others. Corrupt firmware ?
    2. Are you operating in RTK or VRTK mode ? You don't have the RTK modal attached to the controller, and there is no sight of a mushroom RTK on a tripod in the video.
    3. You have not deployed the aerials on the controller. They are still in the stow position.
    4. When you start an autonomous operation the drone must be on the ground, as it uses its takeoff coordinates as part of its positioning calculations. In the video you can hear the app saying "starting operation" whilst the drone is hovering. You can start an operation while flying with a DJI drone, you cant with XAG, it will crash.

Not too sure if you are honestly trying to do a true comparison of the 2 Drones.
Obstacle Detection Discrepancies: You pointed out that the XAG system's brain is slow . But the testing conditions for the two drones seemed markedly different. The environment with the P100 had animals like sheep and horses which would naturally be detected as obstacles, and it did (due to its 30-meter obstacle detection distance). This is especially evident at 16:42 when a sheep moves, and the aircraft shifts in alignment with the animal. This suggests that the system is doing precisely what it’s designed to do. It would be more suprising if the P100 doesnt stop when there are several moving animals (Moving Obstacles) in the field. On the other hand, the DJI system's environment didn’t have such obstacles.
Question: Is it even legal to purposely operate Drones near animals in the US?
P100's Takeoff Concern: It was a bit puzzling to see the P100 being made to take off with a clear obstacle (the DJI DRTK Station) directly in front of the take-off point, either this led to the drone seemingly losing its stability during takeoff, or there is obvious issues even before take off, i have never seen an XAG Drone swing right at the take-off.
Control Switching at 17:11: Around the 17:11 mark, it looked like you switched control to your remote controller. The "Hover" button was very evident on the screen. It’s not clear whether you noticed it or pressed it, but this is so misleading
Some statistics for you, T40 have more signifcantly crashes than P100 in China (China is used as reference as China has the largest operating fleet of XAG or DJI), due to factors to their weak propeller melting when it is operating in a sunny day, and propeller breakage when it is operating in cold environment, and the T40 can not operate with its factory blade at full load as well, and only can operate in reduce weight (Recommended Weight)

    • @Nuthzable

Depends on the type of insecticide, its best to spray contact and ingestion pesticide during the day when they have activity, but for systemic insecticide it gets absorbed by the plant and insects die when trying to consume parts of it so it can be sprayed at all times, sometimes you mix 2 together but some key factors are always test them in a bucket to see if they start to solidify if a reaction occours between them,as for bees you have to check what insecticide is safe and what insecticide is not safe for them cause some will only harm specific insects

I guess to tubes you didn’t like were latex and possibly will last longer than the rigid ones without cracking. They would also be perfect for the peristaltic pump system. The peristaltic system I’ve seen , in hospitals for example, have sets of rollers that move along the the outside of the soft tube to push the fluid along.

Dude just created good example that XAG does the job even if controlled by real man who doesn't read any manuals. High wind ( 16:57 ), folded antenas (15:42 and all the time), animals on field ( 16:38 ). Even after that manual crash drone is still in normal condition 18:11 . I guess he says that he didn`t fly manual just not to get license suspended, but what about such dangerous flying caught in video in US?
At takeoff, 16:24 drone is 1.5m high, next sec (after app is shown 16:25 ) already 10m, super fast.
He thought that others can`t read "Drone is controlled by remote controller" 17:10 then 17:21 then 17:42 then at crash 18:01 Manual beeps at 17:58
At 17:09 he was trying to fly over horses, as you can see on screen set point at 17:23, but XAG refused to do that. Is that even legal in US? At this same sec you can see that manual spray and flying is done for video, but still 0.00/12.55l from mission. Need to save this video for future, how not to do! 19:57 is perfect for pause for face expression or text for others. Hard to tell if this was on purpose or he did it naturally. :)

DJI is falling behind, even with all the problems P100PRO and the upcoming P150 leaves DJI in the dust. Anyone with DJI will struggle to compete unless you are doing low volume spraying. Nobody is talking about the most important part on spray rig: THE PUMPS and FLOW RATES. XAG P100PRO has 22l/min, DJI T40 has only 12l/min. On high rates the same 50ha job you will do with P100PRO in 5.9hrs with 42 battery swaps (including refill times) you will do with DJIT40 in 9.2 hrs and you will do 104 battery swaps (including refill times). That's MASSIVE difference

Don't mean to offend you, but the props are better on the DJI too. Eight motors don't work as hard as four, and I bet two from DJI are cheaper than one for the P100. Peristaltic pumps aren't an advantage. Hoses through the pumps wear out and pressure changes. You still have to check spray heads. Swapping tanks sounds like a good idea, but everything on the swap wears. Just fill chemicals with jugs, depending on the chemical mix it in one jug and fill the others with water and let them mix in the DJI tank when you add the water. You just can't beat DJI. Did you still sell the P100 to the guy? I hope he doesn't see this.

Sana kendi dilimde cevap yazmak geldi içimden. 1. Terrain yer modülünü otonom uçuş için kapatmissin. Giderken yukselmemesinden belli. 2. Pls translate for english

This is so true XAG software is horrible and their updates usually add more problems that were not there before the Obstacle Avoidance is slow and does not work well. The quality of the hardware is good except the pumps wear out quickly and break motor shafts ever 1000 acres from what we have experienced, the batteries are great though.
