i got to say, i bought my drone three months ago, i crashed it with a building while fliying sideways because i could not see the building in the camera, i was also fliying fast. It crash with a wall on top of the building and falled in the top terrace, it still filmed everything, i checked in the map and ask to the porter to hand it over, i was so scared, but when i got home and turn it on everything was fine i just had to change the blades, and todays it still works fine
Usually most broken drones are not due to the first impact , but from the gravity when the drone fall down from 20+ meters , so no need to test it by hitting a tree, but start testing it by dropping it down from 20 30 40 50 etc meters to a hard ground. That's what happens usually :) Nobody is flying those things 1 meter over the ground like you did in the crash test :)
Honestly, I would’ve rather have watched you trying to crash it with its obstacle avoidance on take it down trails and see how far you can go without crashing it naturally
Sensors do not work in SPORT MODE or in the dark. They only work in Normal and Cinema mode. I have donde the obstacle avoidance test and the drone makes no mistakes.
dont know how this drone of yours put up with so much, mine in a test slowly went into a branch, fell 6ft and broke a arm hinge, and now got gimbal overload error so cant fly it.
Bro I just got mine mini 4 pro yesterday and crashed it the same day into a palm tree and it fell about 60 ft straight down to concrete. Propellers got chewed up a bit but it still flies and works! Just had to recalibrate lol maybe because it was dark the obstacle avoidance didn’t work
I hit a thin branch with my Mini 4 Pro and it fell about 3 meters into the foliage. The rubber mount of the gimbal tore immediately. I don't understand why this hasn't happened in all these accidents.
That was painful to watch. I must have missed it. Great video. The drone is great, but I wish they made the camera more protected, easier and especially cheaper to replace. Mini 3 pro camera is expensive and can be really difficult to replace. You have to disassemble everything.
I have a dji spark and it still works now I have run it into many buildings and trees and its still working very well its quite hard to damage these drones all you need is some spare propellers if it hits a tree.
So glad I found this video as I'm going to use it to further my case with DJI. My mini 4 went into a forced landing and came down on some logs that were laying on the ground. The body is smashed, camera and gimble also smashed. A ll beyond repair yet DJI say the drone was functioning perfectly. Clearly not.
because it sounds like a lie, ive never broken so much on a fullspeed high altitude crash much less a automatic landing. and yes they can tell...thats why you got rejected
I remembered my dji mini4 drone that fell into the sea 50ft deep and then 5 days before I got it, the gimbal was broken and can't be fixed again because the mother board is also broken.
The biggest problem i see on dji drones is they dont really have those prop protection things, whatever they are called. now correct me if im wrong, i never owned a dji drone but.. isnt that a bit dangerous to the blades?
They sell prop protection but it's not worth it to be honest. The prop protection is worth four times the price of just buying a new set of propellers.
Should have given more footage with obstacle avoidance on, I’m actually curious how well they handle this at full speeds instead of seeing you purposefully destroy it..
Crazy my mini 3, being flown by my 8yr old, hit a power line and pretty much exploded. Lost the covers around the camera broke the camera boots and both front arms snapped in half literally in half. My mini 4 pro, being flown by a friend this time clipped a tree branch broke the arm hinge and a boot and had constant gimbal errors up until I had Best Buy warranty it. I can say I had my four Pro land in the trees during a storm on its own lost connection somehow I found it the next day folded up in a bush
I was flying ver slowly and clipped a support piling on my patio roof and had to replace one of the props. It wobbled when it flew because the plastic at the tip split. Replaced, it ran great.
Meanwhile, I crashed mine once, it fell 4 stories down, and down goes the GPS module : ( Getting that replacement was EXPENSIVE 😔 On the plus side, the drone's still functioning good!
All that and I crashed mine after a few days, the gimbal got ripped in half, I was lucky I had a warranty on it, the worst part is the fact that it wasn't even a bad accident, it was just stupid
@@Unfilterd yes because mini3 only has front back sensors, so it avoids by side motion...the mini4 will evade obstacles by all directions and it seems like the climb is its first defense.
6:27 mini 4 drone are actually not what they quote on obstacle avoidance the video is showing a tree mine it completely missed entire building and #dji only said it was low light hence we could not process the replacement of a 4 day 5 flights old flyaway drone
But videos like this make it so much fun for people like me cause I don’t have to be to scared to actually enjoy the full potential of the drone. Constantly babying and actually never really fly it with confidence

Not very accurate nor realistic tests. For the water test: You should have used a spray bottle or a garden hose to disperse the water into little droplets to simulate rain. Nobody would realistically try to fly their drone into something like a waterfall. But people would realistically get caught in the rain while flying. What causes damage is the water seeping into the shell (which isn't designed to be waterproof) -- and also when water droplets enters the front intake vents while flying at speed, where the battery connectors are close by. For the flour test: You should have used fine sand. Realistically, what gets damaged by particulates are the motors, especially when trying to take off or land on a sandy or dusty surface. Fine sand would get into the motors and act as abrasives. What kind of damage could flour do? What are the chances that FLOUR would get dusted onto the drone? LOL come on man. For the crash test: You should have flown higher up. Realistically, mostly the propellers would get damaged by the initial impact. What causes damage to the drone itself would be the impact on the ground when the drone falls. Also, the vast majority of Mini 4 crashes are not head-on collisions, but when the obstacle sensors couldn't see small leafless branches or power lines and the drone gets tangled up in them and falls. A drop test from 10 or 20 meters would have made more sense.
