The Trail Boss is a home run from Chevy; same for the GMC Canyon Elevation. Gives people the option to buy a truck that delivers all the off-road capability & “must haves” that a lot of us seek without the extra frills that tend to escalate the price exponentially.
Just bought one today. My 2013 Jeep died, blew a cylinder, $10k to replace the engine, not worth it. On my way home from the repair shop in my Lyft ride, I saw the a Red Trail Boss on a dealership parking lot, told the driver to pull into lot and drop me off. Looked it over, went for a test drive. They offered $5K off MSRP and another $1,500 veterans discount, 1.9% financing, and bought it on the spot. Picking it up tomorrow. It has the a bed liner and trunk lid, which is what I needed. I can't wait bring it home!
looks like the 24 has expanded the digital driver's gauges. The 23 was 8 inches across and left noticeable black spaces on either side. In your demo the screen is much wider and even shows google maps display through the steering wheel
That’s how I feel about my Colorado TB too, doesn’t feel like it, but when I turn stereo up and can’t hear the motor it seems a lot faster, they can’t legally claim 310hp 430# torque though!
The engine wasn’t a surprise for me since my wife’s 24 GMC Acadia Denali has the same one. I actually like it better than the V6 she had in her last Acadia.
I was definitely wary about that feature, mainly because I’ve seen auto high beams blink rapidly. They work fine actually, never had a problem with them being on in ppls eyes. See how it holds up tho
Why does a truck geared for off road have 20" wheels with street tires 🤔 It should have 17" wheels and a tire like the Duratracs or at least a AT tires.
@@peterrooney9461It is also cheaper to build a base model economy car. This truck has 4wd, 2inch lift and a pretty powerful 2.7L motor. It would be nice to have LED, but that is a cheap fix.
I’m getting some led headlights and tailights for mine,,,, Z71 has leds but has a ugly stance , Trail Boss has 2 inch lift 3 inch wider track than your led Z71

Love my new Colorado Trail Boss! I’ve had it two weeks and it’s great!
Great to hear!
I love this truck!!
Thank you!
@@jg8464 congrats! They’re awesome

I believe that is one of the updates for this year!
Which one would you select as your daily driver: the Ford Ranger XLT or the Trail Boss with the safety package added?
Trail boss!
I just bought a 2024 trail boss love it so far really nice truck
Thank for making this video... i bought this truck a few days ago... and you taught me some stuff i was wondering about.
I wonder if gm recommends high rpm hard accelerations during break-in on new vehicle.
Probably not!
No, I waited till mine had 1k miles just to be sure, I’ve only put 2800 miles since last July 3,, I drive it when I want to, not my daily
In 20 years, the Colorado will adopt the size and price of a 2500 Hd
Id love to trust GM because they look beautiful. Isnt there a recall on the 2.7......blowing up or cracked blocks or something?
Some were produced with cracked blocks
12 out of 400k had cracked blocks. Between canyon and Colorados.
@@dougwarren5471The internet would make you think it's every single one of them. Needle in a haystack in actuality.

No separate headlight control. Screen controlled only.
Where in the screen? We cannot find it anywhere
I was definitely wary about that feature, mainly because I’ve seen auto high beams blink rapidly. They work fine actually, never had a problem with them being on in ppls eyes. See how it holds up tho
Not bad, but can you get the selectable rear locker on the Trail Boss?
No 😢
I like the 2024 Colorado Trail Boss. It's cheaper than a GMC Canyon with 4WD (AT4 trim). The Canyon looks nicer but not 5-7K nicer.
I disagree, the trail boss looks better. The gmc is too chromed out.
Is it possible you left it in tow haul mode which affected the power, im not sure but curious
I believe in the 2024 model you get the 310hp and 430 pound feet of torque Chevy did away with the mid torque engine
Correct!
I know it’s not wrong to say “Motor”, but the best way is: Motor for electric and Engine for combustion.
Ever heard of motorsports? Or the magazine Motor Trend?
The plastic is turning me off but that’s really the only negative
20” wheels on an off road truck is just silly. I don’t know why so many manufacturers are doing that lately.
You are giving the z71 info
Put the 3.0 Duramax from the half ton and you’ve got a winner
How is that transmission?.
Hopefully they add a duramax in the future
Not a chance. This engine was developed intending it to be the only engine for the Colorado/Canyon.
I too am 6 feet tall on a good day and with shoes on.
Bad shifting is to be expected in midsized truck…why?
I don’t know, I have a 23 Nissan Frontier and it shifts very smoothly.
I will never buy another GM truck until they do away with cylinder deactivation.

Why does the passenger get screwed all the time! Also all these cosmetics will cost in the future
gasoline engine?
Yes it is!
Halogen headlights..come on really
I’m surprised it doesn’t have manual windows and locks.
Its lock better with it
I know , for 40K . There are 25K cars with leds all around.

@@calebniederhofer6529 but it’s not a cheap car . It’s 53 K
I’d love to v8 swap this
lol lost me at halogens for a 2024 truck.
The upper trim levels come with led headlights, unfortunately not the trail boss.
Same 😂
I’m getting some led headlights and tailights for mine,,,, Z71 has leds but has a ugly stance , Trail Boss has 2 inch lift 3 inch wider track than your led Z71
Liar! Passenger side did not have a fuel door.
I said the same lololol
43k for plastic armrests.
and steering wheel, No thanks
“Trail boss” with halogens… wtf.😂
LOL It’s not that big of a deal!
To each their own.
The truck you’re driving does not have 430 lb/ft of torque. It has 391 lb/ft.
Whoops… you’re right only the ZR2 has 430lb of torque
Actually just did some more research and for 2024 the trail boss comes standard with the tuned motor
You’re wrong. All ‘24 Colorados with turbomax engine come with high output tune:310/430.
@@YTJoshuaMcDonaldWrong ALL the 2024s have the 430# torque, I had to pay extra to get my Trail Boss calibrated to 430#s
@@YTJoshuaMcDonaldYes it does. Comes standard with the High output motor. Which is basically, just an unlocked tune in the ECU.
Unless they changed it, you have to spend $300 to get the dealer to tune it.
Looks like for 2024 it comes tuned standard
