I made my choice and couldn't be any happier... 24 Colorado ZR2... Bought it 3 weeks ago and got over 2000 miles on it... Hopefully it holds up till I pay it off
@@stephenswarts5616 I can't compare it to any of those you mentioned, because I've never driven em.... All I know is that it's quiet and smooth... The speed perception is different too. your video hit home my delimna. I was looking at the ZR2 colorado, but the reality was I could get into a LT trail boss 1500 silverado well equiped for cheaper, so my choice was obvious, for me
1500 and a Colorado really shouldn't be compared just based off of price, especially the Colorado ZR2 vs 1500 Trailboss. You're going to get a lot more amenities in the ZR2 over the LT 1500 Trailboss. The ZR2 also has far more off road capability over that 1500. That is why it is more. If you also like parking in a garage the Colorado is going to be more able. You want an equally equipped 1500 you need a Silverado ZR2 which generally costs around 74k or about 20k more. The 1500 costs more because you pay for that size. It's a bigger truck and you are going to just have more interior space and bed space. That is what you're paying for.
Don't sleep on the work truck. I have a 2024 with the turbo max engine, 4wheel dirive, g80 rear locker (a deal), towing package, conveince package 1 and 2....fantastically capable fun rig for 37,000......love the steel wheels .....feels like i stole something.
I bought my 23 trail boss with trailering package, spray in bedliner , upgraded tires plus all the things you mentioned for basically the same price 41,600. Had a 20 Ridgeline great truck but needed more towing
I had the 1st year production one drove it 14 years never have any major problems with it. Trade it in 2018 for a 2019 Z71 it was exactly what I built on line so far after six years I had to put brakes tires and a battery and transmission flush always get the transmission flush.
Great video great trucks a seat for every driver zr2 for real off roaders trail boss for occasional mild to moderate off roaders Z71 for towing long trips creature comforts etc
I just bought new a 2024 Colorado LT, sticker 43K.....upgraed 18" wheels, Boise stereo, heated seats, steering wheel, blind spot monitoring, much more, but the most interesting thing is that 360 degree surround vision, it is amazing.
Yeah the trail boss was my #2 pick right behind my Pro-4X. Jen and I were looking at them and building them out on chevy's website so we could get an idea of what we want if the Frontier wasn't going to work out. It's like a Modern version of the S10 Zr2 I had but with 2 more doors lol. I had a 2003 S10 Zr2 LS extended cab in Indigo Blue. Great little truck until the 4L60 did 4L60 things lol 😂
@@Jason-Samko yep! That truck was a tank in michigan winters...it did not care. I did have some good tires on it... Do you remember the old Goodyear Wrangler Authority A/Ts? The ones you can only find at Walmart these days in select sizes.
I was just looking at a GMC at4 canyon that had the steel bumper package it was like a cross between a trail boss & a zr2 basically the same as Chevy with GMC trim it reminded me of the chevy desert runner that I think they discontinued all of these trucks are far better than I initially thought because of the overbuilt motors & lots of added external cooling for turbos, motors & transmission
@@Jason-Samko the GMC can be configured that way it's not cheap but it is nice I think Chevy had a desert boss package like that or maybe GMC can't remember which one but it's a great configuration damn good looking too
The funny thing is..Vaden is where my local stealorship got the trailboss i looked at that had condensation in the headlights. So glad I didn't get that one. Your right tho ,I Love the look of my TrailBoss. If I had a little more money I would have gotten the zr2. ❤
@AncientAdventures never bought anything from vaden. But they are the nicest people I've ever met in a dealership. I film at all vaden dealerships and everyone from the sales manager to the sales guys and girls are outstanding. Love vaden.
I wish my zr2 had the z71 interior. I hate the yellow stitching. The z71 red is way nicer and matches the red exterior hooks ,flowtie, emblems of the Zr2
Sup! One question, in a band where I will hall big amps around, an maybe tow a little trailer around California a few times out the year. And of course something that's works as daily driver. Would the LT be best or a Trail Boss? I don't know much about trucks but thanks if ya get back.
@JoeyyIbarra both will do that perfectly. Test drive both. See witch one you like best. The drive will be quite different as the trailboss has a 2 inch lift on it from the factory. And the trailboss looks more aggressive and rugged. The deals available will also matter you might get a trailboss for less because of volume
@MynameisJeff17 agree. Surprised they don't. Many are used to work trucks like loggers, gas line workers etc that would appreciate the heated seats and the tow package is mandatory for many
I came from a ridgeline to a Colorado. I miss the ridgeline in many ways, but given life circumstances I’m glad I got the increased towing and toughness. If you don’t need those get the ridgeline.
