    Fantastic product. Chris put it to the test through a sprayer FFLP on a door or trim. Check out the finish. Give it a very fast rub 220 between coats, absolutely amazing. I use Matt as an Eggshell finish. All the best! 👊🏻🤙🏻

    We made the switch from Ben Moore Advance Satin to Scuff X satin on all of our woodwork, built ins, cabinets etc. last year. Levels out beautiful, quicker dry time, you don’t feel like you’re going to die at the end of the day spraying it (fumes). We’ve had custom cabinet guys ask us what we used on our woodwork, because they thought it was lacquer or conversion varnish.

      Weird, I've never noticed any heavy or bad fumes from advance. I've also noticed and found advance to be considerably harder once cured than scuff-x. To be fair, I've sprayed and brushed advance a lot. However, I've only brushed and rolled scuff-x and have never sprayed it yet. I wonder if scuff-x cures harder after being sprayed instead of brushed. Both paints level fine for me with no issues.

    I tried this about week ago and really liked it. Really nice uniform finish on walls, very easy to use, can be 2nd coated pretty quickly. Seems like it would be a decent trim paint too. The "matte" seemed more like an eggshell to me, which I kind of expected for a product that advertises washability.

    • @doomslayerforever2858

    Chris could you please recommend finishes for walls and trim? I have been quietly watching info on the product. Great video thank you so much. One thing that’s seems to be consistent is the sheen difference for other brands and lines of BM. So I typically use semi gloss for trim and eggshell for walls. I would like a little less sheen then semi gloss. So could you please recommend a conversion for the scuff X. Greatly appreciate it😊

    Just used Advance cabinet on my Maple bedroom set. I used Behr cabinet on my other bedroom set, also Maple. Sanded, primed, 2 coats of paint. 95% rolled, 5% cut in with a brush. I found 3 difference. Advance runs very easy, drying time & the price. Behr $53 a gallon. Advance $80 a gallon. In the future I'm going with Berh. No matter the advertising about how good water-based paints are. Nothing beats oil. Not even close..

    • @ajsbrushworksllc8348
      @ajsbrushworksllc8348 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I use some oil, in certain situations. Depends on availability and quantity and when client wants job done. Also, oil still has big advantages over latex/water-borne paints. For instance, the commercial job I'm doing in a restaurant, latex has failed numerous times due to the traffic and environment. Off gassing can be mitigated by air flow, fans and ventilation. And should be motivated this way.
