    No matter what our thoughts about Pope Francis may be, he is Christ's representative on earth. Satan is out to destroy and divide, and the ratbag is doing a good job at the moment. We must remain united as one, and leave the rest to Jesus. Pray for the Pope.

      You’re right but he should be corrected by his brothers bishops on the wrong things he says, unity is always necessary. But not just unity of holding hands or staying in the same room, also unity in the faith and teachings of the Church, that we have through more than 2000 yrs.

    Recommend it be watched. I was skeptical too. It was similar topics I heard in the synodal process. The pope answered like a matt fradd In terms of women priest or popes and so forth he stood his ground on that based on theology and doctrine he made it immutable point. Outside of the sex talk, he talked about abortion and calling "a spade a spade" like a hitman. Also it was amazing how the young people thought the pope made all sorts of money, life is easy, and the vatican is rolling in money and he humbly answers them on these points. He also told them to not be slaves to ideologies, because they brought a lot of that. Matt you need to just watch it and not review a review. One young person defended the church teachings and asks the pope on this why the number of people falling away from the faith and what he says to her was awesome.

      You didn’t ask me but I don’t think it’s Francis’ fault entirely. Look at the headline of the article. “Pope Francis says sex is beautiful.” Most non-Catholics will read that and think “aha! Finally those archaic Catholics are waking up! I can have sex with whoever I want without feeling judged by anyone now!”
      Meanwhile that’s not what that means. And it’s not Francis’ fault that he’s being misinterpreted here, because truly the Church teaches that sex is indeed beautiful..when ordered properly. You don’t have to scratch far beneath the surface to understand this, but most people nowadays simply read article titles on Reddit and then head to the comment section where anyone using any sort of critical thinking is downvoted or deleted from the conversation.
      I do think it’s Francis’ job to be much more clear and concise, but as an older gentleman social media is not his forte.

As a mother and a woman in the Church, he doesn't make me feel safe as a follower, and I think that says a lot about a Pope. At 7 or 8, you don't understand the seal of confession. You just know how to hide what is embarrassing. I understand where you're coming from with that feeling of anxiety that goes with your first confession. I carry that anxiety with me to this day. I am in my 40's now. I have had amazing confessional experiences, only by God's mercy and grace he has blessed me with them. I just don't want you or anyone to think that you are alone in that anxiety with the confessional. Also, Thursday ask the girl out . If she says no, your life doesn't change. If the church claims to close the doors of the chuch to people or expell people from it, then he claims to close access of God's grace to people made available through God's mercy. The pope is not that guy. It is we men, who reject God's grace and expulse ourselves from the reach of God's mercy

      No, it's expulsion from the Church altogether. This expulsion does not remove the indelible mark left on the person's soul, it does not have to be permanent - the penalty can be lifted, and it also is NOT a definitive pronouncement on the state of the subject's soul. You can theoretically be kicked out of the Church but still be in a state of grace. But yes, it is total (formal) expulsion from the Church.

The basic fact is that this world is both paradise and wilderness. It exists in a greater wilderness, so that we cannot live off this island of ours. The greatest mystery is why life exists at all. and what we are so conscious of good and bad. We of all other creatures anticipate death as a certain event in the future. I do not think that “time” as a measurable event exists even for even the apes.

    Referring to 5:50 minute, dont we become children of God when we accept Christ as our Lord and Savior? We can only become adopted children of God when accept the sacrifice of Christ. When God looks at us as sinners, He sees His Son and thats how we are saved by grace “To all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12).

    • @Seliz463
      @Seliz463 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      By your own quote of scripture, to believe is to now have the RIGHT to become children of God. It doesn’t mean we automatically are His children. To believe/have faith in Christ gives us the right. We have to take actions to claim that right, such as get baptized, and follow His commandments.
      It’s like getting a banking card in the mail. God sent the card, you claim it by believing it has a limitless source of funds (grace) in the account, but you have to get to and go to an ATM and activate it if you want to use it. This is what Paul meant by human effort complete what is lacking in Christ’s sacrifice. Nothing is actually “lacking” but what Paul means is that we have to do our part of responding to the unearned gift with our belief AND our works/actions.

    • @Seliz463
      @Seliz463 ปีที่แล้ว

      And no, when God looks at us he still sees us. But he sees Christ standing next to us holding our hand, and he sees our willingness to follow Christ and trust him. Once we accept Christ, God look at us and he sees a human sinner willing to trust and follow His Son completely.

    • @emmam8320
      @emmam8320 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Seliz463 Im Armenian Apostolic so I also believe that our works must reflect the faith we claim to have in Christ. Even when Christ entered the world, God worked with St. Mary to make that happen, so man has a role in salvation ( I came upon this thought because I was thinking about grace through faith vs grace without works is dead). The work is not done because we hope it will get us to Heaven, it is done because we love Jesus Christ who did the most loving thing one can do (not to mention that He is God incarnate which is just on another level of WOW) So its not out of obligation that we do it but out of love and reverence. One can be baptized and take the Eucharist but not accept Christ as Lord and Savior. Or they may not follow the commandments of Christ. I still think its something that changes in the soul when one fully accepts Christ.
      My initial question referring to all of creation being God's children and thats not accurate. Its also misleading because the unsaved think that they are God's children. Im not saying this to be excluding people btw so I hope it does not come across that way.
