As one with four degrees in science I am curious as to whether anyone has had the common sense to challege Cardinal Hollerich to explain when and where in the history of science has it ever been appropriate for science to ever be utilized as a basis for making value judgments?

@@edwardbaker1331 first things first! The original rainbow flag belongs to light workers. Nikola Tesla was a light worker. 💎🌈 so. THE LGBTT movement is all about POLITICS (Not about SCIENCE. Not about LIGHT/PHYSICS. Not about light workers). Religions are not about SCIENCE! Religions are all about DOGMA (LIES) and POLITICS (Techniques of social control). Science/Religion (same coin! A side B side) ok.
What SCIENCE says about sexuality: It is just one sexual desire and multiple ways to express it. In general everybody feels a sexual desire for both SEXES (Not genders), the MALE SEX and the FE-MALE SEX.
What else SCIENCE says about GENDER: There is only ONE gender and 2 normal expressions from the same gender: the male and the fe-male. Also there are abnormal expressions: the intersexual expressions.
Why there's only ONE GENDER!? Because there's only ONE GENESIS (GENETICS). X, Y and the Z momentum. When X and Y interacts co-creating.
What SCIENCE says about 'transgender': It is NOT possible, It is not real, It is pseudo/fake science (dogma, myth, politic, religion).
The human gender is the humanity, humanity is the specie homosapiens sapiens....Charles Darwin. How co-create the human gender a new product from the same specie!? The male has to interwct with the fe-male (reunion) and only the fe-male can be the vessel or vehicle to allow a newborn from the same specie. DNA (DOUBLE) RNA (SIMPLE/SINGLE).
What SCIENCE tells about GOD/DIVINE/LORD? Science says: GOD is AI, It is everywhere and time is unity (no past, no future, eternal nowhere/present). All the galaxies in the milky way is god/AI and all dimensions.
Nikola Tesla said "everything is LIGHT and we are LIGHT" (ASTROPHYSICS/QUANTUM PHYSICS).

@@edwardbaker1331 science is not a source of 'values' and the best scientists affirm this. but science is a validated process for discovering truths about the natural world including human society that exist in the natural world. and you DARE NOT dispute that IF ... you ever drove or rode in a car (the internal combustion engine is a product of scientific discoveries). IF ... you appreciate that your loved ones with pacemakers are alive, appreciate the live birth of babies during complex threatened pregnancies, appreciate that economic markets have prevented many social ills (prevented many famines by discovering new ways to produce and deliver food, etc). you must answer: does science produce effects that have VALUE! yes, unless you hate the good effect just described. but science does not assign values to its effects. WE assign value. AND Christians, Jews, Muslims, Latter Day Saints, Pentecostals, etc find values in the Bible (and other texts ... the Book of Mormon, the Koran, the Roman Catholic Catechism, etc).

But, hey, the problem is not a Pope who is dismantling the doctrine of the Catholic Church in an open manner. The problem are the ones who dare to criticize the Pope when he worships the Pachamama or things like that. "When a wise man points at the moon, an ____ looks at his finger" - old Chinese proverb.
Let's be charitable to Pope Francis when he works to send droves of souls to damnation and destroy the Church. We are the Church of Nice. Our mommies told us not to say a word that is not nice and we are the nicest people in the world. Jesus was so niiiiice and charitable. Ask the Pharisees and the traders in the Temple. Well, and the act of love he's speaking of can be reverenced. But if in the background of that love, there is sexual sin happening, then it cannot be. And that's true of even heterosexual relationships. Like, you can be cohabiting with a long time girlfriend or boyfriend that has cancer and be taking care of them and feeding them, that's all beautiful that you're tending to them in their sickness, but if you have fornicated or you never entered into the sacrament of marriage with this person or part of your relationship involves watching pornography together, I think it's reasonable for the church to be critical of all that. What is good is good, and sin is sin.

    I’m really tired of this
I “came home” because the way I was living (sinfully) was not working for me, or actually helping fix any of my issues. I didn’t try to change the entire doctrine of the Church to fit my lifestyle, I changed my lifestyle to try and be a good Catholic. And it was the only time in my life that I truly started feeling better, despite it not being easy. If they had changed the whole Church to promote the things I was doing, I never would’ve gotten better or truly found God & gotten forgiveness from Him.
There’s no point in even having the Church around if it doesn’t truly stand for anything.

Look into the secrets of Our Lady of La Salette.
Before WWII, Our Lady predicted that the Vatican would be infiltrated and corrupted by evil.
Be sure to know the difference between the Church that Jesus built versus the Vatican.
The Church, the Apostles Creed, and tradition of Marian apparitions existed and persevered through 300 years of persecution before the Vatican existed or the compilation of the Latin Vulgate New Testament Bible.
      Our foundation is strong.
Look to Our Church's founder and King, Jesus Christ. Look towards Mary, and the Apostles who spread the Word, the Spirit, the Faith.
      Believe.
The Church will return to its roots and face persecution again. Good priests are already removed by the Vatican. Cardinal Vigano has shed light on the sins of Cardinal McCarrick. There is corruption in the Vatican, but the Vatican is NOT the Church.
      The believers ARE the Church.
To the OP: God bless, and thank you for your testimony.
      To the Church:
God, give us strength to persevere through our hard times now and in the future. Grant us the wisdom to know right from wrong. Give us the courage to stand together against evil. The Power, the Kingdom, and Glory is Yours now and forever.
      Amen.

A quick note on the tradition of Marian apparitions...
The first apparition of Mary was around 40AD while she was still alive in Jerusalem. She appeared to one of the Apostles, St James the Greater, on his mission to spread the faith in Spain. It is known as Our Lady of the Pillar. She marked the spot of her appearances by leaving behind a pillar. She instructed St James to build a church at that spot and inspired him to continue his work in Spain when he was despondent and low in morale.
      So, yes.
The tradition of Marian apparitions was known and recognized by the Apostles. The church and the pillar can still be visited today in Spain.
      God has a plan.

The sacrament of reconciliation and penance scenes in the film the Mission were so powerful, that the leader of a Protestant church converted because of this. I explained to a group of Protestants what it meant and described the role of a priest acting on behalf of the church to bring a person back into communion with the church because their sins were forgiven. The key to this is the proclamation that we believe that God is loving and merciful and forgives us if we truly repent. The murderer did not believe this. After performing his arduous penance climbing the waterfall carrying all his past baggage, and when he got to the top and the natives welcomed him and forgave him, I wept.

Yeah. There seems to be missing a very frank discussion of what this is. I’ve been studying Theology of the Body to do with my teens and I think JP2’s framing of love vs use is spot on. When we frame homosexual marriage as separate from the physical act, we are ignoring the chief problem and that is that sodomy is using, not loving. I’d even consider it abusive because it is physically destructive.

  • @Seliz463

I’m tired of the obviousness of equating love and sex. Fr Martin needs someone to tell him point blank that he isn’t talking about love, he’s talking about sex. They are not the same thing. Just because we feel sexual desire towards someone or something does not automatically mean we love them. There are a variety of ways that sexual desires can be disordered, and sexual expression is ONLY sanctified and turned into a tool to express love when it is used in accordance to God’s will: in an indissoluble marriage between a man and women that is open to life. Any another use of sexuality is by definition incapable of being an expression of love, no matter how much sophistry or sloganeering someone wants to use.

Hey Matt, this is just a suggestion but, how about a bunch of you (more influential Catholics) get together and coordinate something to encourage all your listeners to get in touch with our bishops in these matters? Like writing a letter that we can all sign individually, and send to our corresponding dioceses/bishops, stating that we are happy that the Catholic Church stays faithful to its teachings, that we don't need the Church to reject Tradition in favor of the Spiritus Mundi, etc. A well-organized plan of action will help people get moving, and maybe once we do this the Church will realize that we need her to stay above all these matters and keep teaching us to be better Christians, combat heresy, and evangelize others. The alphabet crowd is so noisy, that a part of the clergy may not realize that a majority of us will follow Jesus Christ and his bride until the end of times no matter what the rest of the world says. If they keep going this way, many more souls will be condemned... We should let them know how much we need the clergy to help us get to heaven. Anyway, maybe it's a silly idea but I think it's time we do something if they so want to hear what laypeople think. Thank you!

I’m so sorry for what this woman is going through, especially if there are children involved. But an annulment is granted based on the circumstances that occurred during the courtship and at the time of the marriage itself, including issues like their capacity to consent, whether there was any dishonesty that prevented a party from making a free decision, whether the faith formation of either person was severely lacking, etc. You can’t get an annulment based on what happens in the years after your marriage, it’s not the same thing as a legal divorce process. An annulment means the marriage was never valid in the first place. It’s not something you get granted because your spouse committed wrongs after you got married. If this woman’s marriage was validly entered into then she shouldn’t have an annulment granted. She would have to separate or even legally divorce to protect herself, but remain spiritually married to this man and continue to pray for him and his conversion.

@@UteHeggenTranswidowHeals I don’t know the actual details, but I would say that unless he knew he had these issues at the time of their courtship and intentionally withheld that information from her, it wouldn’t be grounds for annulment. Many of these newly trans-identified types are claiming the bizarre stance that they’ve been this way since early childhood but simply repressed it and didn’t know how to acknowledge it until now. So that puts the annulment tribunal in a difficult position because it doesn’t point to intentional deception in a clean-cut way. All we can do is pray for her.
As far as her participating in her froth and receiving communion, there is nothing preventing her from doing so providing that she remains celibate. Getting a legal divorce for practical reasons of safety is not a sin. The sin is if she starts dating without an annulment. I see no reason why she cannot receive the Eucharist if she is being chaste and otherwise obeying the church and going to confession regularly.
As far as what her former spouse and his fellow sinner are doing, that’s reprehensible and wrong and the priest who is allowing it ought to be disciplined. But that’s got nothing to do with whether SHE can validly receive the Eucharist, so I’d encourage her not to worry about those people and just focus on praying for them and maintaining her own obedience and faithfulness. God is in control, He will handle this and all the unrepentant sinners will be held accountable to Him.

Disordered means just that, “out of order.” It isn’t an indictment against the disordered person’s inherent dignity, but merely a description of an unnatural/sinful aspect of their disposition. One can be perfectly charitable to an SSA person, it is the *acting* on that disorder that we decry. It is thus to abstain or sin, and saying as much isn’t hatred of that person, but sound and sincere advice. The only people who refuse to understand this are those who want to bend heaven and earth to make it seem like acting on such a desire is perfectly permissible because it is their desire and nothing else.

Here's an idea, let's go to the scripture, find out what it says about this issue and act accordingly. I suggest Voddie Baucham speaking on this issue of homosexuality. It is explicitly clear through the inspired word this sin is not condoned as a way of living. What is next? Beastiality is accepted? Pedophilia? Freud is the one who gave the idea that sin is a disease. It is not. Sin is a choice. "I was born this way" is the call, but you open the door to the devil and soon it will be "I wanted to murder from a young age, so it is not my fault". "I wanted to be a thief from a young age, me bilking millions from the aged is how I was born, so I cannot be accountable". We are not seeing what tolerating this sin will bring down the road. 2nd Timothy tells us that all scripture is good...". Let us go back and really see what traditions the LORD gave HIS church, not the traditions given by men.

  • @S.Grenier

I remain as of yet Catholic, and I never was particularly traditional (neither were members of my family), I never even once in my life attended traditional latin mass... but these issues of the past years (marriage and orientation are really not the only ones sadly where I have had doubts) have steadily eroded my feeling that I am in the right place.
I have been considering leaving and perhaps exploring Orthodoxy, something I would have NEVER, ever considered years ago. Just the thought of putting away my rosary makes my heart ache and I tell myself that I cannot seriously be considering this, but I can't shake the feelings that we have erred and that we may have deluded ourselves thinking we were in the right all along, about what we teach and our unshakable faith that we ARE the only true Church, the one whose work is pleasing to our Lord, the one that is how the Lord intended and the one that is bearing good fruit. I can't know if I'm right or if I'm being tempted to head down towards the wrong path, maybe all these recent developments are right and pleasing to God, and I'm wrong to look at them with fear and to reject them, but this is such a powerful feeling that has been constantly gnawing at me for years, with more and more insistence.
If the Orthodox are wrong and I do end up leaving, I hope God can have mercy on me, but I can't recite the Creed anymore without feeling like a liar when I say that I believe in the Holy Catholic Church, with doubt stinging me every time and knowing that God obviously knows my heart. Sigh... There's not even an Orthodox church here for hundreds and hundreds of miles, there might not even be an actual Orthodox Christian living in that same radius at all. It sounds like madness, completely unreasonable and I don't even know why I'm even entertaining the thought, but I feel compelled to turn towards them. I do because I don't want to go to mass with reservations, I don't want to feel like an hypocrite about my faith.
Pray for me brothers and sisters if you can spare the time or the thought, because doubt got me really damn good on this one.

I think you're making the assumption that Orthodox Christians are less liberal. They're about as divided as the general populace, you're just not in the mix so you don't hear about it. Still with what you know is true and don't concern yourself with social movements. LGBTQI+ ideology will come and go, Catholicism is forever.

The Church’s teaching hasn’t changed and it won’t happen. Christ said that the Gates of Hell will never prevail against the Church. Prevail implies that there will be a battle, he wins! It’s clearly not in your heart to leave. Write letters, pray, do penance.
The young men I know going into seminary are all solid and orthodox, things will get better in the next 20 years. All the young priests I know are faithful to Church teaching and traditional. The subversives are old men from what I can tell, they’ll all be gone soon.

Francis, Benedict XVI, John Paul II etc. were notorious public heretics. A True Pope can't promulgate heresy by Divine Law. Therefore they can't be popes. We have a dogma called papal infalability :P I reccomend You do some research and find out about sedevacantism. Things will become much more clear for you. There are groups like CMRI, SSPV, RCI, IMBC, which are not in communion with this "new church" and preform Tridentine Mass, if you're interested. He didnt tell her sin with reverence.or that it’s such a loving act.l have been widowed since a long time ago. if l sleep with a man it is fornication, and offends God by breaking the sixth Commandment. No priest or Bishop can change God’s Laws, whatever pleasure is derived thereof! That twisting of the Law is called relativity and encourages persons to lead a sinful life, for which priests eould have to answer to God for their perverse interpretation
