Now all the devaswom board temples are organised by different devaswom boards and people who is worked inside the temple are govt. Employees ( devaswom board employes ). No political party or any other organization have any influence in the temple ruling. Only some pvt. temples are ruled by some individuals that temples belong to some family.

But unfortunately my parents left Kerala in the mid 1930s....So I was bred outside of Kerala but we visited very often..Im a senior citizen now but never had the good fortune of making Kerala my home and that is one huge regret that ive always had! I haven't given up trying to make it happen and will do so till the end!

1994 plague in Gujarat, I remember many people and friends from kerala saying they were not much affected by it, maybe the diet of coconut was a main reason. Most of the kerala dishes have coconut in it and people use coconut oil for cooking too

Every Indian state has it’s own uniqueness but state of Kerala leads or distinct in some areas like literacy, child mortality rate, health index, poverty rate , living standards, proper toilet facilities, no communal riots….and certainly there are many negatives too…..but still little state of Kerala is a peaceful land even though it’s thickly populated.

Kerala was very poor state with the worst form of caste discrimination. People where very poor .
First government of kerala implemented land reforms, whereby land from landords where taken over and distributed amoung the landless, this empowered people a lot. Kerala don't have natural resourses like iron, coal etc.
But the governments invested hugely in education and social welfare. No other state has invested like kerala. This started showing results as years passed, this is the most important reason for keralas development. Second was the missionaries, they helped educate people.
Lower castes could study in their schools.
Then its the Gulf boom. People migrated in large numbers to work there. Kerala had good relations with arabs from ancient times, this helped a lot . Gulf /middle east is the second home of malayalies.
Here Hindus , Muslims and christians live peacefully. This is also a major factor in the development and peace in the state.
Many black forces from within and from outside has tried to break the unity, but the people stood strong to defeat their intentions.
