    What a great perspective of Chattanooga! You covered so many aspects. Thank you! I’m from San Diego so anywhere would be an adjustment! I live in Utah now and love the landscape. I laughed when you said the beaches were 5 hours away “if you need to go to the beach.” Definitely think that’s a need. Can’t wait to visit!

    One of the issues you did not touch upon is the cost of homeowner and auto insurance. As an example, for my home in Virginia homeowner insurance costs $600/yr, while my aunt's house in central Florida costs $3000/yr, down from $4000/yr because they just replaced their roof. Also, Florida is among the most expensive states to insure an automobile.

    Love your Videos! We are talking about a move from Florida....really hate giving up our Gov...great guy that really cares, but I believe Tn has a more conservative population...very similar to Florida. So, if you're moving from a state that sucks, maybe consider voting for the party that made both Florida and Tn great states.

    Great video! My gf and I are looking at potentially relocating to Chatt from DFW. It seems a lot more relaxed than Dallas / Fort Worth and is obviously way more beautiful scenery wise.

      awesome, yes was just in Dallas a couple of weeks ago, its also a lot dryer in Dallas compared to the humidity of Chattanooga.

      @@LivingInChattanooga how would you compare crime? I know there is a lot less people in Chatt and DFW is starting to get over populated.. we don’t have any kids and are looking into selling our home in July (to avoid capital gains if the markets still up).

    I currently live in Florida and can speak from experience. I also lived in Tennessee for 28 years. Here is my take on the subject. I do speak from experience. Florida Cons, Hotter and humid as hell for the majority of the year. People here say that summer in Florida is like the long horrible winters in Minnesota. By that I mean for 10 months it is sweat and stroke capable by 9:00 am and people go from ac to ac and rarely venture anywhere outdoors for fear of melting! It does not even cool down at night in Florida. Florida has hurricanes and because of that home insurance is 3 times as much even when you can get it. Deductibles are outragis. Cost of living where I live is on average 25 percent more and food is almost double! People might ask why did you leave Tennessee. The wife wanted to have the beach life and even though I tried to convince her to stay in Knoxville, she was insistent, (happy wife, happy life!) after three years of being cooped up, she has agreed to moving back. Where I live in Florida, we get more rain than Chattanooga!

    I liked your description of the humidity. How do property taxes compare? I don't know for sure, but I've heard that Florida property tax can be high.

      We’re in Lakeland (central) Florida, within city limits near the “historic” district, in a modest, 1950s block home (no HOA is HUGE advantage in this area) and our bill is $1600 this year.. I’ve never personally owned a home so I’m terribly ignorant on property taxes, especially in comparison to other areas - but I know my husband complains often !! 🤣🤣🤣 and talks to everyone about it lol , prop taxes seem to be a hot topic lately around here honestly, but the rise of our cost of living in general is impossible to ignore and that is typically the basis for this tax talk.🤷🏻‍♀️🤔 Anyhow, ppl tend to agree with him that it’s a “high” rate for whatever reason, I’m still learning this ridiculousness 🤦🏻‍♀️
      There’s something called a homestead exemption as well I feel like should be mentioned if researching Florida property taxes / cost of living ..

    Nice video. Appreciate all the comparisons. I have lived in the Tampa area for years now and have been thinking about Tennessee. One big thing I would need to consider is the pollen situation. Yikes! Is it really that bad? Is it worse than FL? Actually the pollen is really bad in my city of Brandon. My kids are highly affected by it unfortunately so if it was worse there in Chattanooga there is probably no way we could do it. I am visiting in July so will hopefully see how I like it.

      As far as the pollution goes, Chattanooga has come a long way from the 60's and here is an article that can explain in more detail of how it is now a days. Article is a little dated but still good info.

      I actually lived 2 years in Wesley Chapel so know tampa pretty well. One thing I notice in the difference is that in FL its usually year round allergies, in Chattanooga is more spring and fall time that will affect you more. Hope that helps, if you need anything feel free to reach out.

      A lot depends on the type of pollen. I transferred to Florida last year from N. California. I lived in the foothills outside of Sacramento. The Sacramento area is known for its trees. I also spent a lot of time in the Sierras which has heavy pollen. I never experienced allergy issues until I moved to Sarasota. I'm hoping Chattanooga will be much better....it can't be any worse :)

      @hisnameisiam808 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ralphkeith2905 so you're saying it was worse in Florida? We are in Oregon and are experiencing some allergies right now. Feels kinda like a slight head cold. Slightly runny noise and post nasal drip. Tickle in back of throat/sore throat. A little bit of ichy eyes.

      @@ralphkeith2905 oh gotcha. Bummer about the mold. That makes sense. A guy on a video said that he changes his air filters in his house once a month. Also, people are making boxes out of square old style fans and square air filters.

    rent is going up every year in 2 or 3 years i can see it getting to $1600 or 1700 average rent you have to consider alot of people are moving here and rent just keeps going up and the only jobs are volkswagen or Amazon the rest around here pay 7.25 to 14 dollars but it still might be better than other places i don't know ive live here 37 years and rent went from $570 to 1050$ in 3 years for me in the same place so if it keeps going up its not really worth it compared to alot of places that are much nicer

      Ivan, if you are looking for the perfect place in Florida to raise your children...check out Ave Maria, Florida. It's about 30 minutes from Naples (inland). Hurricane Ian didn't bother us. Great schools. Fantastic weather starts around the middle of Oct to Nov when we are in the 70's, dry and more sunshine than you'll know what to do with! :) I wish you well. As for us...we miss the mountains and 4 seasons.....life is full of decisions.
