I understand. Price per serving is what we do currently. We always report on the percentage of protein per calorie, which is a good metric for you to cross-reference the price per serving when comparing proteins.
Isolates are absorbed faster than concentrates but concentrates have better bioavailability. I have chosen concentrates for their bioavailability and significant savings. I supplement with 100 to 150 grams of whey daily depending on my diet. On weekends I have time to eat more meat and those are my rest days so 100 grams are fine for Saturdays and Sundays

I struggled with "budget" powders. The thing is they use awful and cheap aroms, and they add too much sweetener. Buy unflavored whey powder, then you can make amazing tasting shakes using a blender and you can add real fruits (frozen or fresh or canned), honey, milk use sugar or your favorite sweetener if you're on a cut.

I do think unflavored protein, like Bulk Supplements, can be a great option for people. I actually find unflavored protein with milk to taste just fine. I just don't like it with water.
Price per serving is arbitrary. Should have compared $/gram of protein as the primary factor with your grading system of taste, calories, micros, source type etc. second. This video is almost useless. It became clear when you hit the GNC branded one.

There is nothing wrong with Bulk Supplements. The only big downside is that they are unflavored and lack flavor variety. This is a deal breaker for most people who don't want to feel like they're choking down their protein shake every day.
I go for unflavored soy protein isolate, hella cheap and gets the job done. But people demonized soy these days not sure why. As an asian, soy is a staple we've been eating it for thousands of years. The japanese consume soy like crazy and they live long so there's that😅

Which foods are complete protein? Animal proteins are complete, including meat, poultry, fish, eggs and dairy. There are also a few plant-based sources of complete protein, including: Quinoa.
Excellent video and review process. I liked the clear methodology you used to grade the products and the delivery was great. I’d like to request the review of Elevation whey protein blend. These are sold in ALDI and it’s really cheap at $1.06 p/serving for me, but the protein content is ~61% per serving. So 🤷🏻♂️.

3rd party tested means that the company goes above and beyond to test their protein with a 3rd party lab to verify what's in their product is exactly what you're getting. It is NOT necessary. I remember buying my 55 per serving protein from Academy for 49 bucks, good old times. I haven't bought protein in a long while cause of the expense. Best thing to sometimes is to just not be lazy and cook some 3 eggs and boom, that's about 1 protein shake equivalent right there. Chicken breast, prepare it yourself that's 39 grams of protein right there, cheaper than restaurant, just get your lazy butt to the kitchen.
Ya, I hear ya. Did you see our video on "why is protein powder so expensive now"? I mention how in the last few years alone, some brands have increased their prices by 50%. I still definitely take protein powder, but look for any deals I can, buy in bulk, use subscribe & save, etc.

I actually haven't tried nutricost personally. Off their website, it looks like it's $1.80 per serving for the 2lb tub, which doesn't really fall under the "cheap" category. Although, you might be able to pick it up cheaper (like on Amazon). I just haven't checked.

The nutricost numbers are pretty cheap. I'm just wondering on the quality, it says it doesn't have alot of ingredients either. It does say it 3rd party tested. But maybe you can look into. @@jaspal6523 You can't divide the number of grams of protein by the service size to get the protein percentage. You have to do the calorie calculation. 30g of protein is 120 calories. In 1 scoop there is 140 calories. 120 divided by 140 = 85.7% protein percentage. Where are you getting those prices though?
should price it per gram of protein, but per serving. One serving might be 20g of protein and another might be 30g so you cannot compare serving price imo

Premier didn't make the list because it's not a protein powder, it's a ready-to-drink shake. Six Start didn't make the list because it didn't fit the "Still High Quality" criteria. I have reivews of Six Star on the website you can check out if you're interested.
I got a better option and is even more anabolic and real real cheap. I actually got this from a Bruce Lee article and although he was doing it with steaks u can do it with ANY meat. Put chicken, lemon juice and salt in blender. Solid solid high quality protein blend. It just taste like a warm soup. Been doing it for over 10 yrs.

No, there's no whey protein that is 100% protein. Take the grams of protein and multiple it by 4. That will give you how many calories come from protein. Then divide that number by the total calories in a scoop, then multiply it by 100. That will give you the percentage of protein per scoop. For example, 28 grams of protein in a scoop. 28 grams of protein X 4 = 112 calories. If there is 130 calories in a scoop, you go 112 / 130 = 0.86. 0.86 X 100 = 86% of protein per scoop. At FeastGood, anything above 86% per scoop is considered excellent.

Right now you can get a 5lb tub, 74 servings, for $74.98 on Amazon.com. That's about a buck per serving, which is half the cost of some other protein powders. I think you might be ablet o get ON cheaper at Costco, too. Not saying MyProtein isn't cheap either, but I think on average, depending on where you buy it and the serving size, ON is often cheaper. But hey, prices change and you can always find deals, etc.
Heaven forbid you have to add flavor to an unflavored powder. Go back to the 1970s and 80s when you had to hold your nose to do drink it because the taste was so bad, and blended poorly in the blender and would clump up in the blender.
If you buy wheybolic, you have to buy one get one at 50% off. Also if you have pro membership your cost per serving goes way down. I got two 69,99 tubs for 91.38 which drops the price per serving down to about 1.82 at 40g and about .91 per 20g. Otherwise Wheybolic is too expensive.
We've reviewed Body Fortress on our website, and while it does come in at $0.93/serving (below the average of $1.34) it also falls below 60% protein per scoop, below our threshold for a reasonable protein source (which starts at 65%).

why are you doing cost per scoop..... you should do cost per gram of protien.
That's just the way I did it. It's not wrong, it's just a different calculation. There's definitely merit in doing the cost per gram calculation too.

@@feast_good I realized that even the cheapest whey protein like bulk supplement is still too expensive for my income. I lived in vietnam, my monthly salary is just around 300$, the ones that get retailed in my country easily cost more than 60$.

We do per serving because people are going to take protein by the serving size, i.e. by taking one or two level scoops.

Where the hell is Optimum nutrition protein is cheaper than Myprotein protein???? As I know ON is one of the most expensive proteins at least outside of US.
Right now you can get a 5lb tub, 74 servings, for $74.98 on Amazon.com. That's about a buck per serving, which is half the cost of some other protein powders. I think you might be ablet o get ON cheaper at Costco, too. Not saying MyProtein isn't cheap either, but I think on average, depending on where you buy it and the serving size, ON is often cheaper. But hey, prices change and you can always find deals, etc.

Heaven forbid you have to add flavor to an unflavored powder. Go back to the 1970s and 80s when you had to hold your nose to do drink it because the taste was so bad, and blended poorly in the blender and would clump up in the blender.
Protein has come a long way since the 80s lol.
If you buy wheybolic, you have to buy one get one at 50% off. Also if you have pro membership your cost per serving goes way down. I got two 69,99 tubs for 91.38 which drops the price per serving down to about 1.82 at 40g and about .91 per 20g. Otherwise Wheybolic is too expensive.
