A friend recently told me that there are many countries in the world that we can't export our food to because it is so junky. Other foods have to be reformulated before being exported. In a video, I watched on another channel, the Dr. was comparing U.S. sausage to bratwurst ( German sausage). It turns out the German diet is full of fried foods, greasy foods ... Im curious as to why when I go to Indian 6 favorite dish Tandoori chicken is always made with skin on, dark meat chicken? Very few restaurants that aren't American that use white meat chicken leave the skin on? Chicken soup is made with chicken that is not deskinned & matzo ball s are made with chickenbfat( if not Americanized),! Do they know something we don't? Or are the powers that be here keeping something from us? Recently, I opened a can of tuna from a food bank. I won't say the brand, its one of the national brands. I'm almost 64 y.o. I've been eating canned tuna since I was about 4 y.o. I spit the first forkful right down the garbage disposal. It almost gagged! It tasted so bad! But not spoiled! I read the label! It had soy in it! Why soy! I called friends and told them I couldn't believe there was soy in my tuna. One of them laughed at me! They both said because tuna is e expensive and the soy allows the tuna to be sold at a more competitive price! As soon as I was off the phone, I went through all the tuna and got rid of all the cans with soy in it. I'm not a fan of sardines: however, on a recent grocery trip, I saw all the brands except one were on sale. I read all the labels. One of them had another fish in it, no sardines! Now I had the attention of everyone on the aisle. She said that can't be! So, I turned the can around. She became as white as a sheet. She said you're right! We went back to our shopping. Later she approached me, with cell phone in hand. She'd asked her cellphone how this could be. The answer was shocking. Under law they are able to do this because the other fish is about the same size, and tastes close up. We were both shocked! T h at means they can outrightly lie.
Nice comparison! A couple of things: a long time ago, there was a movement toward having "complete proteins" in every single meal. A Complete Protein meal, for example, would be Pinto Beans and Cornbread (bean and corn), or Walnut Oatmeal burgers (nuts/seeds and oats), or even Red Beans and Brown Rice (beans and brown rice). The idea is that beans, for example, provide certain essential proteins and corn, for example, provides different essential proteins. Pair them up and you have a complete protein profile for your meal. Over time, scientific discovery has proven that we do need complete proteins, but if you spread them out through the day, you are good. Your body does not need to have complete proteins at every meal., just through the course of the day. With that said, having a "complete protein" meal shake is great, but not necessarily something we have to have in each shake. if you have an incomplete protein meal shake, add some nut butter or seeds to the shake, you will get your complete protein. This maybe puts some of the incomplete protein shakes back in the ballpark, and may save on costs. Also, there is a huge distinction between a meal replacement shake to a protein shake (protein shakes are good after a workout, and are structured with cetrain proteins to rebuild muscle). Thank you again for your analysis.
This is why I love you and your channel so much. You’re so fair with everything. You’re still giving examples even though they aren’t perfect! Better is still going in the right direction💙

I want to thank you for such an educational breakdown of the protein powder on the market. I was using something that was making gassy even when I used water. I will DEFINITELY be trying out your recommendations. Thank you for being my Researcher....
h hefner I said wholesale. My friend owns Chike and he buys it wholesale for a little over $2 for whey isolate. Of course he buys 1000’s of pounds but you get how cheap it is.
So good! Excuse the repetitive question.. so if you only had “One” protein to choose. From a standpoint of who completely extremely contientious about their diet, and avoids processed sugar at all costs.. which protein with it be? Thank you 🙏
I have a friend who sells products for a company called Arbonne. They sell high end supplement and health and body products. They are very expensive but it is really good. They just came out with keto friendly ( I think) powder. It has less than 1 g of sugar. It’s pea protein. Something to consider.

I used to use dymatyze Iso 100 and optimum nutrition standard gold .. but now I only use 1up for everything. you get results and more bang for your buck .
Unfortunately there is the website that did study’s on protein powders and Garden of life is known to have heavy metals in it ;/ along with a lot of others that are organic.
They only mention one of their products tested: Organic Shake & Meal Replacement Chocolate Cacao Raw Organic Meal. They also don't go into detail exactly what metals and what amounts are in it. Not very scientific.
I became reactive to both the whey and pea varieties after using them for awhile. Please review hemp and rice powders. If you could turn up the volume or your voice that would help so the ads don't blast. Thanks very much!
Did Garden of Life clean up their act, because their plant based using rice protein was found to have high levels of heavy metals. Actually, the highest a few years ago. When Mike Adams exposed them, they said they would fix it, but it would take 1 1/2 years to do that! Plus, they were bought out by Nestle in 2017.
Question: the Truvani you suggested has a lead warning on the container. Can you explain that? I know most of what we eat is contaminated somehow, but I would just like to hear your ideas on that (not being sarcastic.. I just don't know and want to learn). thanks again. GREAT videos!
I would like Bobby to look into this. I have heard that collagen can’t be consumed, or rather absorbed into the body, so buying it is useless. Rather you should take lysine and proline supplements which allow your body to make more collagen. I’d like to see what you think.
Very helpful guide even to this year in my opinion. I decided to get the garden of life one cause it seemed pretty good in ingredients and fairly priced at my store.
I’m new to your channel,,,, and I love them! I spend a lot time researching stuff,,, and now I don’t have to, you do it for me. I like that you give options for eating preferences, like plant based or keto,,, nice job. You two rock. 🙂
I SO appreciate the thorough research you put into these videos! This is the exact topic I was curious about this week. PS: LOVE the Bobby Approved app! 👏🏻
I thought about the same but quickly went check on the label and realized why. I will still finish the inventory I have in my pantry and probably will switch.
You should have a youtube poll in your videos saying like “why dont we like natural flavors” or questions that u have went over multiple episodes so people can retain more information..
Hey Bobby just a quick tip I learned from another TH-cam vid. If you want to know the actual percentage of protein you’re getting with each case, you divide the protein from the serving size.
When I switched to real food powders my stomach and wallet got better. Protein powder has no regulations in u.s. as are consider supplements. I switched to real food grade in milk powder, pea protein powder, peanut powder, nutritional yeast powder, and egg white powder that I make myself by boiling eggs peeling then dehydrate in food dehydrator then grind into a powder. The egg shells can also be made into a powder for more protein, minerals, calcium.
How’s the Great Lakes brand of collagen? I never see you mention it. Please let me know your opinion. Love your videos!! I’ve got my husband and adult kids hooked too!! Thank you for educating us all.

I agree but can be advantageous to some doing a lot of manual labor and are looking for a healthy consumption to maintain energy while trying not to bloat.
Thank you for the great content! Question??? On the shelf you skipped the Orgain Protein powder. I have both Vanilla & Chocolate Orgain Clean grass fed whey protein powder. 100% New Zealand grass fed protein. How would you rate this product please?
After watching this video, you have interested in the Four Sigmatic products. Mainly the protein powders. How about another video on their product line. Thanks.
I would also recommend doing some online research before deciding on which brand to buy because some companies use nitrogen spiking. A label may say 24g/serving, but the protein content could be 16g due to nitrogen spiking.

Great video! Helped me a lot on what to look for in protien powder thank you for taking the time to do this! Please do more. You do very insightful helpful videos. I'm learning a lot.
I was kind of surprised that you did not mention anything on the Amazing Grass, plant based protein powder. In my opinion is also one of the best on the market. Any opinions?
I *think* incomplete amino acids can combine together over a 24h window, so you can have your collagen in the morning, and have a protein shake in the afternoon, which will make up for the missing amino acids. Edit: poster right below me says the same thing!😄
Thank you for uploads. Consumer Labs is another spot-on source of information for myriad topics including this one. Levels of lead and arsenic surrounding various facets of production are all too real in protein powders even among some rather pricey examples. Consumer Labs does research-based and exhaustive reviews on protein powders and numerous other pertinent subjects. At less than $16, Now Organic Pea seems a great choice especially for individuals averse to milk products. Let me know your opinion. Cheers.

Always appreciate the time and effort you put into your videos. The knowledge I've gained from you is incredible! Thank you for being a big part of my keto journey. I'm 3 weeks in and have lost 19lbs.
At Walmart, you were standing next to Organic Plant base Protein powder, but you didn't review it. I really wanted to see if it was any good.
just looked at it too, has natural flavors unfortunatley
If it's not animal source it's incomplete
I want to thank you for such an educational breakdown of the protein powder on the market. I was using something that was making gassy even when I used water. I will DEFINITELY be trying out your recommendations. Thank you for being my Researcher....
Great work guys. Appreciate the honesty.
I don’t think people really realize what protein powders are supposed to be for honestly. $60 for 15 grams of protein? Makes zero sense
Sooooo true. Some people make no sense 🤦🏽♂️
Whey protein sells for a little over $2 per lb wholesale! That’s isolate. These companies are killing it!
@@phoenixrisin2269 where can I get whet protein for $2/lb wholesale?
h hefner I said wholesale. My friend owns Chike and he buys it wholesale for a little over $2 for whey isolate. Of course he buys 1000’s of pounds but you get how cheap it is.
@@phoenixrisin2269 Planet Protein new web site not working.
I'm looking for organic, grass fed, and with stevia - very hard to find.
The terras whey is great! But not so much for folks sensitive to lactose
I watched every second of this video! It was amazing.
Wonderful overview! You've put me on the right track 😊 I had no idea the protein options are many 🎉
So good! Excuse the repetitive question.. so if you only had “One” protein to choose. From a standpoint of who completely extremely contientious about their diet, and avoids processed sugar at all costs.. which protein with it be? Thank you 🙏
Buy a vegan protein powder
@Jen boost is garbage
I have a friend who sells products for a company called Arbonne. They sell high end supplement and health and body products. They are very expensive but it is really good. They just came out with keto friendly ( I think) powder. It has less than 1 g of sugar. It’s pea protein. Something to consider.
@@lisajudkins9859 plant proteins are not as bioavailable as those derived from animals such as whey and casein (milk-based). a good brand would be dymatize
@@potbellyfatguyfromnewyorkcity you have to understand a lot of people are lactose intolerant whey has dairy .. I personally use 1up nutrition supplements it is whey but I don't have a problem with dairy . I am tired of spending so much money on my protein powder and only getting half of the product..
Exactly I read this on - www.consumerreports.org/dietary-supplements/heavy-metals-in-protein-supplements/
They only mention one of their products tested: Organic Shake & Meal Replacement Chocolate Cacao Raw Organic Meal. They also don't go into detail exactly what metals and what amounts are in it. Not very scientific.
That's so dope because I had the organic brand. I mentioned the taste was like licking a penny...nasty
Audrey Gregis did they fix it?
Question: the Truvani you suggested has a lead warning on the container. Can you explain that? I know most of what we eat is contaminated somehow, but I would just like to hear your ideas on that (not being sarcastic.. I just don't know and want to learn). thanks again. GREAT videos!
I am curious too. It looks like a popular brand but lead warning is alarming
I’m so happy i found this channel ❤❤❤ amazing information, so much knowledge.
I would like Bobby to look into this. I have heard that collagen can’t be consumed, or rather absorbed into the body, so buying it is useless. Rather you should take lysine and proline supplements which allow your body to make more collagen. I’d like to see what you think.
ITS TRUE... keto world is trying to push anything new.... even never seen before.. stay away, read everything
I just take the collagen for the amino acid profile.
Please do a review on kids/young adult daily multi vitamins. So many bad ones out there. Thanks, I
Love your videos.
Very helpful guide even to this year in my opinion. I decided to get the garden of life one cause it seemed pretty good in ingredients and fairly priced at my store.
Thank you so much!!! You've made shopping for protein products so easy. Thank you.
This video deserves a million views, thanks alot
Thank you so much. This has been hugely helpful. Can you make a video on ‘green powders’, I.e., superfoods, etc? I’m worried about lead and fillers.
I was hoping he would do the review on the superfoods protein powder.
I can see the effort preparing for this video. Good job 👍🏼
I’m new to your channel,,,, and I love them! I spend a lot time researching stuff,,, and now I don’t have to, you do it for me. I like that you give options for eating preferences, like plant based or keto,,, nice job. You two rock. 🙂
I used to buy Aldi protein powder but after seeing your video and reading the label it had way too many bad things in it, thanks for the great info.
I SO appreciate the thorough research you put into these videos! This is the exact topic I was curious about this week.
PS: LOVE the Bobby Approved app! 👏🏻
How come you didn’t check on the Orgain plant based protein?
I thought about the same but quickly went check on the label and realized why. I will still finish the inventory I have in my pantry and probably will switch.
What about the Orgain chocolate brand?
You should have a youtube poll in your videos saying like “why dont we like natural flavors” or questions that u have went over multiple episodes so people can retain more information..
You should review the Orgain Clean Plant Protein Powder thats newly introduced in Costco !!!
Yes!.. that's what I am using was hoping for a review on it.
Thank you sir for everything. I appreciate your honesty. I learned a lot. Much Respect
Bobby - do you plan to bring back the Podcasts? They were great! Loved listening on my way to/back from work.
I love your content! I watch your videos all day lol! Seriously! Thank you for all your positive information!!!!
Great video. You covered everything that I needed to know and explained it in a very easy to understand format. Thanks for all the effort you put into your videos. It is much appreciated. Thanks again.
What about Orgain Organic Protein how does that rate? That's what I've been drinking with the Vital Protein collagen.
Debbie Kotch I’m wondering the same, I do both the Orgain and Vital Protein as well. Why did he skip right by it, it was right there. 😞
@@michelleskolozynski9738 Maybe because there is natural flavors in it . Wish he would've !
@@michelleskolozynski9738 He skipped over it at Costco, as well. I don't think he's a fan. It does contains organic natural flavors so I don't know if he's opposed to those or not.
@@michelleskolozynski9738 He skipped over it at Costco, as well. Could be because of the organic natural flavors.
Me too!
What would be a good meal replacement? I really really enjoy your info thank you for doing what you do
I wanna know too
Me 2 please.
Me 3, please. :)
I'm disappointed Bobby didn't review the Gold standard Whey. It's a big pack in the middle very hard to miss 😔
Not to mention it is one of, if not /the/, most popular protein powders there is.
@@aaronwwilliams it's garbage lower grade😣😤
It's GARBAGE.😤😣😣😣😤
@Jose Garcia It does taste very very sweet, like you're drinking swissmiss chocolate. Ugh! I bought a big pack of it from Costco before this video came out 🙁
@@captainamericaamerica8090 That may be the case but it's worth mentioning if it's the Velveeta or Oreo of protein powders.
As an avid gym enthusiast and health advocate I strongly recommend using no protein powders! Eat real food to get your nutrients.
I agree but can be advantageous to some doing a lot of manual labor and are looking for a healthy consumption to maintain energy while trying not to bloat.
How come?
I guess I agree because after the video I realize that teras mix has cadmium and is a trace metal that y he did not mention and its cancer-causing
So test and de ball are out the window huh
@@douglas9660 there's no reason. This guy is speaking BS
Great job! I also use Equip's grassfed beef protein. The chocolate flavor has only 3 ingredients: grassfed beef, stevia, cacao.
Thank you for the great content! Question??? On the shelf you skipped the Orgain Protein powder. I have both Vanilla & Chocolate Orgain Clean grass fed whey protein powder. 100% New Zealand grass fed protein. How would you rate this product please?
I only use Organic Protein powder its wonderful..
Any brand in this video this applies to?
@@suren123a I am not 100% sure as I stick to MyProtein, which is one of the most reputable brands of protein in the market today. If you want to check, this is a list of some of the powders tested: labdoor.com/rankings/protein/quality
Thank you for this review, very informative and learnt a lot about whey, especially plant based protein.
Would like an updated version of this! But could still use the wealth of information provided to get a look at Sunwarrior brand. I like the vanilla flavors because they’re lowest in sodium + they’re plant-based and organic! Gonna go in my pantry and check the ingredients based off of this too. Per usu - Thank you!
Hi, it’s approved on his app🙌🏾
I'm sort of new to ur videos. Am SOOO thrilled I found this one while scrolling around. So important!!! Thanks for all the work put into ur videos. Love the education
Hi Bobby. I like your videos and the effort you give to present it well. I wanna know which is the best protein powder or post workout supplement for weight loss
Thank you! I needed this! You guys are the best!!
Sunwarrior has the warrior blend which is very high quality and plant based and have many sources of protein that really should be something on the good to buy list.
Would be cool if you could make a list A to Z of all the bad things they put in our foods. Would appreciate that.
Look up John and Ocean Robbins, they have the list you are looking for. In the Food Summit Network page , I think I am recalling the correct site
What do think about raw organic whey I saw it on amazon it’s a amazons choice thanks for all the great reviews and tips
I hope you do another updated video on protein powders... I used your app and found my Truvani plant based protein was approved, but my sun warrior plant based protein powder was not...but was wondering what the "unclean" ingredients were in the Sun Warrior brand ( vanilla - keto )
I read Garden of life plant based raw organic protein has high concentration of heavy metals. If that is true how good to consume these protein powders Bobby?
Common man I also read that Nestlé bought Garden of Life in 2017. 🤔 Wonder if their unethical practices have any affect on Garden of Life products?
Labdoor website says its safe
Common man they are the highest in heavy metals
nice video, 5:26 what about the XANTHAN GUM and Sunflower seed oil
Great video! Helped me a lot on what to look for in protien powder thank you for taking the time to do this! Please do more. You do very insightful helpful videos. I'm learning a lot.
I was kind of surprised that you did not mention anything on the Amazing Grass, plant based protein powder. In my opinion is also one of the best on the market. Any opinions?
Plssss do an energy bar version 🙇
YES!
I *think* incomplete amino acids can combine together over a 24h window, so you can have your collagen in the morning, and have a protein shake in the afternoon, which will make up for the missing amino acids.
Edit: poster right below me says the same thing!😄
Spot on well done. I previously bought many you listed and added some too.
I know this will be good. You taught me about almond milk. I now only buy the one with ingredients. Either I'll be Malt or Califia organic
Cheers.
I blindly bought my first post workout protein powder earlier this evening (whim buy) and mine is fairly clean. Only natural flavor but it's toward the bottom so I'm not too stressed about it.
Yo
May you please review the Orgain protein powder, Please
Orgain has gone under great research with a company that tests only the most sold shakes. Orgain came in with over 280 chemicals in it
So isn’t not good
@@carinawoodmansee9699 OMG! I had no idea. I use that all of the time.
@@nangee2990 I used to use it too, it tasted so good. But after a while I did start to notice things like shortness of breath and my daughter who has juvenile arthritis noticed more joint pain. We had no idea it was the shake so I took a closer look at ingredients and found loads of guar gum, xanthan gum, more guar gum etc.... I mean holy crap the stuff is loaded with fillers. Anyway, year later I found out there was a company testing only the most sold protein shakes on the market and that came in as the worst.

I wish you talked about plant based orgain protein. Not just the collagen

I'm not kidding you. 15 seconds into the video and I was completely hooked.
I found a great one not in stores from Naked Nutrition. 3 ingredients: grass fed whey, vanilla and coconut sugar. Been using it for a while now.
