      G,day Jed, yes I have subbed to your channel and yes I have been enjoying the Mopar madness!
      I was a young teen when The Dukes of Hazzard burst onto our tv screens way back in the early 80's. Like many others we had our eyes opened to American Mopar Muscle cars. We didn't have cars like that on the market down here. I have kept a fondness for Dodge 60's/70's muscle cars ever since. Your comment has actually floored me, as a little home grown channel way down under, we seem to be invisible to the global scene. Most Aussie channels are struggling with subscriber numbers and views. To me you are a huge channel and your compliment is quite frankly very humbling. So thank you very much. Love your "good ol boy" attitude, and I keep expecting uncle Jesse or Bo and Luke to walk in on your video. Cheers Rob.

      Hi Rob, I once sheared the end off a head stud (level with the top of the head) whilst torquing the head nuts down on my 66 Alfa Romeo. I undid all of the nuts and removed the head to expose the sheared off stud. I used two pairs of vice grips to lock onto the broken stud like a T handle and was then able to unscrew the stud out of the (alloy) block. The vice grips certainly saved me a lot of grief that day.

      I have spent most of my life involved with restoration and modification of cars, so most of these old cars were donor cars for other projects. Without youtube I guess they wouldn't have had the chance to run again. Thankyou for watching and commenting. Cheers Rob.

    Hi Rob, just subscribed but have been watching your channel a long time. Have you worked on any rotaries in your time and when do we get to see the Holden you just bought from Adelaide?

    • @robsshed
      @robsshed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      G,day mate I will get some footage of Al's Holden very soon, but as far as rotaries go I have very little experiance. I have changed sparkplugs, overhauled starters and alternators, but never been inside one. I have fond memories of a 929 coupe second hand import that was a whole lot of fun to test drive after servicing and tuning. Cheers Rob.

    It is number 3 , this engine is a duel port which ran a doghouse cooler that is offset so the cam on the distributor is normal. First imports 1954 ,a few split beetles late 53 did come as demo's

    • @robsshed
      @robsshed  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for clearing that up, I was swinging on 2 or 3. Also once you mentioned the offset cooler it all comes together. For years I have heard of people fitting vw distributors to hotrod Ford model A engines, clearly dizzies from the twin port engines. Cheers Rob.

    Being an auto electrician and you have a Gemini-great car Isuzu engine e. Did you have the fuel pump fail. We did several times in heavy traffic until I removed the resistor under the glove box never did it again.
    Would you have picked that up because nobody here could.

    • @robsshed
      @robsshed  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our car is a TG with a mecanical pump, so no worries there. When they were newer cars I attended many break down call outs to Gemmies with fuel pump failure. Every case it was brushes worn out in the alternator. These earlier cars need the alternator to be charging to hold the fuel pump relay in. I would short the relay to drive the car back to the workshop. ( Back then no one had tilt trays like today.) Cheers Rob.

    • @garygardner6536
      @garygardner6536 2 ปีที่แล้ว
