    That HR Holden next to the HT,is it going to be parted out ?.If the subframe is good or repairable ,let me know please. When scrap steal hit $400 a tonne back in 2006-07,so many cars crushed.And the Ex,sold all my parts,so I'm on the hunt,thanks in advance.Regards J. EDIT: @5:32 You got a 186S HR,if you have a spare K Block 186,that's what my old girl is.That HT Premiere shell,shame she got cut.Prems had different pillars at the rear of the roof better shaped than the Kingswood.

    hho gives better power and economy especially on deisels , non O2 sensor Deisels are the easiest with hho though. my family has used them since the 70's on agricultural equipment and cars etc. simply it helps to burn quite a bit more of the fuel before the exhaust valve opens thereby giving more economy and power and cleaner exhaust lower emissions .

      Ps you should have done a Cummins swap in the truck. (I’m a bit biased I was a Cummins apprentice back in the eighties)

    • @robsshed
      @robsshed 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      This truck had the crate Detroit in it when I bought it. The main reason that I made it happen. Back in 2002 Detroit engines seemed to be the way to go, so I went with it. The biggest problem with it at the time was all electrical, and for that reason I was so greatful that Dad had insisted that I become an auto sparky. A few weeks faffing with it and it was on the road. I do admit Cummins do make some really nice engines, and I do actually own a few.😉 I also have a Cat, just to remain unbiased.🤣

    • @anthonybulmer1198
      @anthonybulmer1198 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@robsshed just a light hearted jab. As a Cummins apprentice we were always having a joke with the Detroit apprentices about who worked on the better motor. I think there is nothing wrong with the Detroit either. The old S Line looks a treat. I did work on them when they were new. Again great to have you both back and look forward to more videos

    • @robsshed
      @robsshed 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@anthonybulmer1198 I reckon the 12.7 Series 60 is the pick of them in the Detroit family, but like everything else egr killed it. I was around when the Holden and Falcons went to egr, and lived through the things it took to get the working properly. When Detroit released their system, it was a case of here we go again.😉

    Great to see you up and running again. Any chance of a detailed description of how you converted your FJ to disc brakes? I assume you did a master cylinder conversion.

    • @robsshed
      @robsshed 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I can do that, it is really a very basic setup. I have the original master with the residual pressure valve removed, but I can discuss that in a clip. The whole thing works on volume of fluid, and as long as the selected components are compatable regarding the volume requirements it will work. This was all done to try and keep the car looking original, and many years ago when it still had the original grey motor in it. If I was going for a bigger hp engine, and doing the same thing today it would be converted to a dual circuit system.

    • @amraceway
      @amraceway 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@robsshed Thanks for the reply. It would be great if you could do that video. Brakes are the achilles heel of FX/FJs and I have yet to see your set up explained in detail on You Tube by anyone else.

    • @robsshed
      @robsshed 29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@amraceway In the past I have bent the brake pedal trying to stop the FJ in traffic with the drum brakes. My first car was a 1929 Model A, it had better brakes than the FJ. Believe me I know how bad the original setup is.
