      Thanks again Michael. It used to be pretty consistent when the codling were there and I thought nothing of driving there from Southend after work and fishing in to the early hours, be back to work the following day and do that over again, if the tides were right.

    Hi Ken,
    Nice session 😊👍
    I had a great day yesterday fishing left hand side ( lower deck ) of Deal Pier. Weather was perfect and i bagged 63 fish. Mainly Whiting but i also had a great sized Pouting. I had 9 doggies, 3 dabs & a 4lb Thorn Back
    I fished the down to low water and back up again definitely a great session and will definitely go back again.
    All the best
    Nigel

    Nice video, one of my favourite bays for fishing the flood as there is a ridge just to the left that drops off there.

    In the north of the Netherlands 80% of our catches are flounder, the other 20% eel, pouteel and small bass. In the winter mainly dab and whiting. Catching rays, conger, dogfish and smooth hounds from shore, the stuff of dreams for me. I envy the English shoreanglers. I really enjoy your video’s. Many thanks.

      Many thanks for watching Ronnie and sharing your experiences. Yes, we have a good variety of species to aim for from the shore, but you have to travel and know the venues. I prefer to fish for flatfish, so flounders and dabs are welcomed; however I'm more keen on plaice and soles!

    Nice to see you fishing @ Felixstowe. It’s my local piece of coast. Great to see a mixed bag to different rigs & some of your favourite flatties. Used to get good bags of cod here & @ Languard point back in the sixties & seventies. Those were the days. Gone now unfortunately.

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and commenting Chris - more chance of a ray than a codling now, but the odd one will still be about.

    What a great way to start my week...watching your excellent video whilst drinking a cup of coffee and eating some hot toast liberally covered with whisky marmalade! For such a popular venue I'm surprised that there were no other anglers fishing in your bay. That said, it would suit me down to the ground as I'm not a very sociable angler! Another venue that I have not tried. Must get out of my comfort zone and try it. Stay safe and keep healthy. Cheers. Ken😀

      Many thanks once again Ken. There were quite a few fishing there on my first trip. When filming I tend to look for somewhere away from others and I think cameras might put off others setting up near me - or it might be that I haven't cleaned my baitbag and bib and brace for a while!

    Do you dig your own worm or buy it?
    Stay safe.

      Thanks again - I buy ragworm, but dig my own lugworm. I've only been digging since our first lockdown, so am still pretty inexperienced at it and have yet to go after ragworm or try pumping for lug.

    Have you ever fished further around like between there and languard? And do you still get codling in Felixstowe?

    • @rodsangleuk6283
      @rodsangleuk6283  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I used to fish near the point for codling, a good few years back and you got the odd one in between loads of whiting. I'll be back there sometime to try again.

      Its a RidgeMonkey Bucket seat - I have a couple of these, bought online - can't remember where from though. Should be easy to obtain.
