    Heres a short lessons on how I create some of my drum tracks. To avoid copyright claims I didn't show the method of listening to original isolated drum tracks and building the beats from that.
    Let me know any questions or comments and Ill get back to you!

    Thanks for sharing this, it's REALLY helpful! There's some songs I've wanted to upload but they would've been blocked by copyright if I used any of the original track. I thought I was going to have to program drums myself and I wasn't really looking forward to that!

    how did you do to make the midi mapping to match the ez drummer one? it's something that version of gp does? because everytime I export a midi, the mapping tirns out wrong (for example, the tom notes on the gp sound in the hi hat in the ez drummer interface)

    • @KarriHanninen
      @KarriHanninen  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I havent had that issue but when I tried to google the solution, I found that you should be able to make a preset for a MIDI re-mapping which you can load everytime that you import midi maps:
      "You can make a MIDI map to translate the MIDI notes that comes in and what notes should they turn into. It´s pretty easy and you can make it using the JS plugins that comes on Reaper ("JS: IX/Midi_Keymap" is my favourite for this task)."
      "You only have to do this once though, and load the preset each time.
      Also, I'm pretty sure in the future you can just make sure you're using the right notes in GP. I don't really know how to explain this, but you should use 40 for snare and not 38, even if its the same sound in GP. 57 for crash, 36 for kick, etc etc. What I'm trying to say is that pretty much all my songs are written in GP and then imported to Reaper/SSD and I've never had wrong notes."
      I can dig deeper into this if you are still having trouble solving it, so just let me know :)

    What about bass? Is there any way to make a good sounding bass track from gtp file?

    • @KarriHanninen
      @KarriHanninen  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have to look into that 🤔
      Ive heard that theres new bass midi plugins that sound really good on certain metal genres, havent had my hands on them yet so its hard to say how they work regarding dynamics etc :o

    Thanks for the tutorial, that seems you really put a lot of effort to make the drum tracks, that is really cool, but the thing is I do aslo have reaper but I don't have studio monitors so my guitar input is my Focusrite Scarlett Solo and and my output is my computer speakers which are hooked up with the back of the computer CPU, so when I tried to get sound from the reaper, I didn't get, can you help me?

    • @KarriHanninen
      @KarriHanninen  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you have the Scarlett as the set audio device, you can use only that for both input and outputs. That means when you are recording with the Scarlett, you have to use Scarlett's output for the playback sound. Do you have headphones you could test the Scarlett output with? :)

    • @ranajoyshil
      @ranajoyshil 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Karri Hanninen
      I have headphones but I don't have headphones with RCA output, so you are telling that I have plug my speaker or headphones to the output of the audio interface in order to record on reaper.

    • @KarriHanninen
      @KarriHanninen  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There should be the headphones output on the front side of Scarlett, Im pretty sure that most DAW's only support 1 audio driver at once, using audio interface means that it overrides your computers audio driver and the program using Scarlett will be only able to use Scarlett when processing sound :/
      There might be ways to go past that but Im sure it will bump up the latency a great amount

    Hey dude, I really like your vids, killer playing, and awesome taste :)
    I'm trying to start doing something similar, and I was wondering how you recorded your videos ... are you able to record the video, and guitar audio at the same time? I'm using Reaper and have VSTs for my guitar tones, but have had some issues getting things to not sound like shite while trying to record in OBS. Any advice you had you be very much appreciated. Keep on the rock bro \m/

    • @KarriHanninen
      @KarriHanninen  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey thanks man!
      You can record the audio at the same time, but I record the audio first and video after that. That saves me a lot of time because I dont have to record the video 20x times to get the perfect take.
      If you want to record the guitars and video at the same time, I recommend recording the DI guitars on reaper and matching the audio and video at post-production (when editing the video).
      You can keep the monitoring on and remember to only have necessary plugins on when recording to keep low latency, you can add eq/gate/effects afterwards :)
      If you need more help, just message here :)

    • @KarriHanninen
