  • Since I have got my new 2022 BRZ I have had a lot of people ask me how I like it and if I would suggest getting one. Now that I have had the car for a few months I feel like I can answer this now. Let me just say that the Gen 2 BRZ is far far better than the Gen 1s...

    The turn signal lever is a common feature in fords. It turns off when you make the turn, or when you push it again to the direction you selected. Keyless doesn’t work when the car is running, at least that’s what I’ve learned with my STI. I lock my car when I start it to warm up, I have to use the actual key when I want to unlock it. Otherwise when I place my hand on the handle, it constantly rings at me. And the button on the key fob doesn’t lock/unlock the car either while it’s running.

    Quick add. I went with Toyota for my gr86. Big difference is Toyota (racing history) uses a yellow before redline indicator on the rpm gauge. This is a huge help managing rpms on the track and daily driving. Remember Subaru is phasing out their performance side while Toyota is pushing gazoo racing all over the place. The engine was lowered 28mm because GR engineers figured out a different mounting position, not Subaru or sti. Toyota was the one who changed the fenders to aluminum trying to reduce weight do to larger engine. My point. Who is completing in racing at a high levels using rear power? Who’s ceo is a race car driver? Toyota. Oh I own a 2018 brz race car. 2589lbs/230whp (n/a)

    • @joshuaszeto
      @joshuaszeto ปีที่แล้ว

      How did you get 230hp Na? I currently have a cat less uel, stock mid, and a 2.5 inch catback, intake (doubt that makes any difference) . Running an oft tune but haven't had a chance to dyno. But I would be very open to making more power. I just recently had a chance to drive a new brz in anger and it's noticeably faster than my frs. I would be upset if my frs was close in power

    Styling is better 1000% subjective or not . Styling is GOOD , and your are totally right that the 86 front is nicer. My understanding however is that the Toyota cost more despite being pretty much identical , so I would be hard pressed to chose as the 86 front is much nicer but MONEY .
    ANDBODY who pays more then MSRP for a budget car that already costs 30K is BONKERS ! I HAVE NEVER even paid MSRP on a car and bought many below invoice and dealer cost .I paid 20% ofF MSRP on my last car in 2019 or 20K for a 24-25K car between factory incentives and dealer shopping for best deal and drove 100 miles to buy it.
    I get that cars are expensive even in used market and all that but there is ZERO REASON that these cars should be marked up and dealers are trying to take advantage and anybody who pays 5K over sticker on a budget car , a good budget car but a budget car is NUTS and on principal I would wait or ride a bycycle before I paid that much . A C8 I understand and with production being slowed on a HIGHLY ANTICIPATED car that is a tremendous value but a car for monied people , to be the first I get it AND THE CAR IS SOLD OUT FOR YEARS . I would stick every dealer with these as I dont think there is a shortage .
    You need to find a BIG DEALER who moves many cars and tell them your shopoing , want one, have the money but looking for the best price . If they give you a crap price tell them they are nuts and no thanks . If you call enough dealers you will find one with sane pricing even if you have to travel to buy it . you can service and do warranty at any dealer so just refuse to buy from local if they are trying that shit . OR wait and tell them to call you back when the prices are normal and wh3n they call tell them the price you got if you got a car or if you haven't and waited DONT ACT EXCITED and check if you can't do better and call them back to see if they will beat it . There is NO R3GULAR OR BUDGET CAR so good it should get a premium . I would ride a skateboard before I paid 16% over MSRP for a NEW CAR that loses a ton of value the first time you drive it . INSANE . NO idea dealers were doing with cars in this price range . People are hurting , GAS and FOOD through the roof and it's a good time to raise prices on cars targeted at people with less money then average to spend on a car ?
    I don't get it .

    Interesting about the passenger seat being hypersensitive. Is there a second tuning package (like VW’s VCDS) which lets you change the car’s sw parms? Maybe the seat sensitivity has a range of values...? Bummer about the lack of a detent for the turn signal, that would be really annoying. My GTI had “convenience blinks” (always does a minimum of 3 blinks) enabled by default, but fortunately it was able to be disabled via VCDS plugged into the ODB2 port.
