- The intro cinematic and the prelude to the first mission, including conversations. "Investigate" options purposely avoided to give a "movie" feel, focusing on the plot rather than acquiring codex entries. Total run-time 11:25.
Played with a custom Shepard, with Earthborn and Sole Survivor as a back story. Paragon conversation choices selected.
Mostly I recorded this because I didn't see a 1080p version that was recorded on a good enough computer not to be choppy. 4 year old game, but the graphics still look good maxed out. - เกม

Mass Effect + HBO + Miniseries = Awesome!
A movie would have to cut so much out and it won't be the same but if they make it into a series on HBO it would be perfect! Someone can just send the first hour of gameplay to HBO as the pilot lol
Game of Thrones made me very confident HBO can do a proper series on Mass Effect if they get the funding. One season, maybe two, for each game.

I like how there's a few parallels between ME1's and ME3's opening. Like how both have videos of panicked individuals coming face to face with Reapers. And how Anderson's with you for the beginning of both games.

When Joker says "Aquiring transit vector", does it mean the ship has to approch the relay at a certain speed and at a certain direction? Or am I just overthinking it.
Yes, I would assume this to be the case.
Since the mass relays are not symmetrical, and since the faster than light travel to a ship's destination could potentially be in any direction along coordinate axes (X, Y, and Z), based on the orientation of the relay and where the ship's destination is, the ship would need to approach the relay in a way that they could be sent towards their destination without hitting the relay and/or other potential celestial bodies along their course.
The way the Normandy approaches the relay in that opening scene and just happens to put its destination in the direction that orients it to be perpendicular to the relay was likely for cinematic effect for the opening, rather than trying to convey any kind of sense of direction. As far as I know, ships don't have to align along the relay in the same way the Normandy does in that opening scene, but rather just get close enough to the relay to initiate the FTL process.
Or we are just overthinking it lol :)

Lol, well the default Shepard looked like a previous co-worker that I wasn't particularly fond of, so staring at that mug for hundreds of hours of gameplay was not an option for me!
The ME1 character editor and graphics really did a number on my Shep's face. In ME2 and 3 it looks 1000% better comparatively.
Here's hoping the revamped character editor in Mass Effect Legendary Edition is better for ME1 and gets me closer to what I was originally going for! I'll be posting, among other things, comparison videos (this intro vs. Legendary) around release in a few weeks so stay tuned!

@@clumsyentropy bruh andromeda was a bad game in a lot of things, and am saying this being a absolute fan of the series, i brought that game and played it, coz i didnt want the series to die, completed the game for the sake of it, original trilogy has set the RPG bar too high.
that annoying repetitive grind on every planet in ancient pyramid things, kickass villain in story but hardly any real screen time to that character. team mate characters are so dumb and dull AF. hardly charm at all in them. only the female Turian team mate was good enough, rest were just so so bad.
