    In regard to the Ford Everest I thought I share a couple issues I noticed whilst looking at the new model in the Trend 2.0L bi-turbo variant.
    1) The cabin interior showed puckering of the roof material in and around some of the grab handles as well as the internal lights.
    2) There were very noticeable indentations through various sections of the interior cabin ceiling including the rear third just above the second row seats.
    3) Electric folding wing mirrors when operating were noisy and in one of the cars I viewed almost sounded like the gears were grinding a bit.
    I have spent a couple of weekends looking at different dealerships around Brisbane. Across 3 dealerships and 5 cars viewed the interior ceiling issues were present in all. Pointed this out to the sales person I was dealing with at one of the dealerships and they acknowledged it. Not sure if this is just an issue with the first batch of the new versions coming through as it is not present in the previous versions that were also on show.
    Not sure if anyone else has seen these issues but thought I would share. And look I acknowledge they are relatively small issues but unfortunately for us they detracted from the experience of test driving the car and got us wondering about the quality of the build a bit.

      @rogerc23 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a Ford. And whether it’s built in Thailand or Australia you don’t need to worry about the quality of the build or materials. You know it’s going to be poor, breakdown after two years and general be dangerous for 10% of the vehicles they send off the line.

      I have to wait until next year for mine, when I retire to the Phil's. It'll be the Titanium model. So glad that they changed to a keyless start ignition. Now if Everest can just assign those bloody exterior mirrors to the Dumpster out back and fit the better styled mirrors that are on the new Ford Escape they'll be on a winner, winner, chicken dinner...

    Just experienced this truck in Thailand. Rides a bit firm but very capable with a great leather interior and adequate power for tight spots. In the US, Ford needs to take a cue from Tacoma, 4runner, and Raptor sales in certain major areas and provide a tough suv like this. On another note, I loved the Ranger Raptor.

    In India, it is known as endeavour but due to its more price, people buy Toyota fortuner. By 2020, over 2 litre engine will not be allowed in India, so Ford is the first big suv to adopt that. It would be launched in India probably in 2019.

  • @OFFICIAL_VIDEO_AWARDS
    @OFFICIAL_VIDEO_AWARDS 6 ปีที่แล้ว +10

    The 3.2 is detuned from factory around 35%. The 2.0 is upturned by around 60% from the transit van.
    They originally wanted to offer a higher output 3.2 with a simple new tuning map then realised they could make allot of money from parts and repairs when the 2.0 breaks in around 7 years.
    If there was a postcard image of planned obsolescence, the iPhone and this 2.0 engine would be it.

I wrote a letter to the paper asking does Ford consider Australian people more expendable. Today it adds those at a premium price once again charging for the "privileges" to be safe very much in the Toyota mould.

      Funny becasue most of the people I see on the Sunshine Coast are retirees living there becasue they are.....well retired, or towing caravans there becasue they are....well...retired :-)
      Trend is 5-6K more than the Pajero Sport and shit's all over it performance wise.
      In Sydney most people I see in Everest's are in their 30s and 40s and not towing caravans so I don't think your personal experience is a good measure of the Everest retail demographic.
      As far as towing goes I'd sure as hell rather tow a 2.5t+ caravan with a Everest than a ute so what's your point exactly?
      Over rated by who? The independent objective reviewers and customer reviews largely see it at 8-9/10 so feel free to explain what is over rated about it performance/capability wise.
      I agree the Titanium is a rip-off at 73-74K. The Ambient and Trend when compared to like brands models is not given the above point on what a damn good truck it is.

How come we never see congested roads and average speeds of 45km per hour. Seriously consider the option of public transport in Australia we dont have the roads for vehicles. Its just too congested now. We know it causes anger and road rage.

      @@marinerchris They have cognitive bias, based on what they have spent money on and cling to any urban myths that support that their preferred brand , engine type etc is superior while ignoring the actual evidence/data proving it invalid.
      I had a Muppet on another channel, shit mouthing another make/model saying it had systemic over heating issues when towing. I checked consumer complaints, independent reviews etc dating back 5 years and couldn't find any evidence supporting it and challenged him to prove it. He provided links - I checked them and not a single shred of evidence in them supporting his BS claims. I told him as much and funnily enough he has never replied..
      I had a similar occurrence with another genius claiming another brand/make was "snapping in half" regularly. Once again he couldn't provide evidence, I couldn't find any either and in the end he admitted he had "read it on some forum somewhere".
      Car ownership has the closest thing to cult membership outside of martial arts and...well...cults. Brainwashed ignorant drones sprouting unsubstantiated crap to fluff themselves up becasue they belong to club [insert brand here]. Pathetic.
      As far as same brand owners that can't move with the times - They typically whine when a car hasn't been substantially updated in years then whine when the engineers actually come up with something out of left field that is a true shift in thinking and application of emerging technology.
      You know someone is clueless about cars/driving when they automatically equate more CCs to more capability/better performance. That shit went out decades ago for anyone with a brain lol!

      The difference between engine displacement will show 8 to 10 years. Our family owns a 2.2 cc pick up mazda 8years old still running but no longer on performance level. All fixes had been done but no improvement. Until I had driven a 15 Years old 2.8 pajero still at top performance.. also applies to 1.6 to 1.3 gasoline cars by toyota and mitsubishi.. the higher displacement engine will still run st the speed that you want..no matter how old the engine is.. the problem with putting to much stress on smaller engines causes to much heat that worsen as it ages blowing up the gasket.. anyway im a mechanic by profession just sharing my two cents based on my experience
