But if the goalkeeper is not doing right, that goes instantly to the score against you and the confidence of the team falls down. A striker can make mistakes and the game goes on, but if the goalkeeper makes a single mistake, it might as well be game over and the season is done.
Just a note. There were two saves with a head from a goalkeeper. There is a rule in football, that a goalkeeper can't touch or take the ball with his hands if the pass was made with player's feet. Chest and head are acceptable, meaning you can pass the ball to your goalkeeper with a head and he will be allowed to take it with his hands. In those clips (7:11 and 14:05), they had to use the head, as those were foot passes from their teammates.
The reason why those 2 goalkeepers used their heads is because they cant use their hands when a team mate passes the ball, so, to avoid a foul dangerously close to the goal, they headed the ball out instead of using their hands. It's very impressive, much more than some shown that are just being lucky but with a good spread.
As a goalie I can say it’s one of the toughest positions in the game. No one can really know the struggle of it unless you are one. You have a major responsibility to be at your best every game. A forward makes a mistake he has 10 other players to fix it. But if a goalie makes one it can cause you the whole game.
I would say yes, there are multiple reason as in the fact you are the last defense. You are the only person in that position, if it rains or snows the ball will change in different direction if hit hard, and how close and if there are redirected ball. I don’t even play the position but I know it is hard it’s crazy lol

Goalies should always be the best athletes in a football field .. and for that save that the goalie used his head to save the ball there's a rule in football that if a defender passes the ball to his goalie he can't touch it with his hands unless it is a header , a clearance or the defender passes it with his chest or shoulder... If after a normal pass the goalie touches the ball with his hands a foul is given to the other team in the penalty area
Yes it is the toughest becuz you have to deal with constant presuare you need to be consentrated Even If the ball is nowhere near you and you need to tell your teamate where the opposition is in lets say corners. But most of all you need high reactions and a good jump. I am a young goalie myself

*passes it back with their foot. Team mates can pass to goalie with the head, shoulder, chest, etc with no problem. Foot is the exception
