I am football fan since 2011 and I can tell you this. Messi is the type of player who gets other players involve with his passing and dribbling but Ronaldo is the guy who finish the job. Ronaldo sadly had the knee injury which cost him changing his playstyle from amazing dribbler and showman to the goalscoring machine. Messi never need to adapt cuz of injury. When it comes to big games and cluchness Ronaldo is definetly better. His champions league performances were truly out of this world. I'm not saying Messi wasn't great, but clearly wasn't as good. Almost half of Ronaldo's goals come when the team draws or loses, he's the greatest cluch player. Messi is amazing too but I prefer Ronaldo, especially in his pre injury time.
If a player's clutchness relies on his teammates he cannot be considered more clutch than a player who can be clutch by himself, the day Ronaldo scores a clutch goal like Messi's against Madrid in 2011 where he doesnt have a ball put on a plate for him, we can have a conversation then

That's total nonsense. I ve watched both of them play for 15 16 years now. There will always be a next ronaldo, which is now mbappe, but messi is pure football and he is unique. Ronaldo is a great athlete with serious football skills, Messi i a great fotballer with serious athetic skilss. Maybe some of the coaches choose ronaldo because of his penalty decisiveness but *most* of the great players and coaches always answered *messi* when asked about the G.O.A.T

I don't even like to compare them, it's childish. They're both my favourite players. Ronaldo's skills, physique and finishing charisma coupled with Messi's vision, change of direction, immaculate touch and magical moments. They were both very fast.Both very different and both incredibly talented. Simply put I prefer Messi because of the things i couldn't do, we ve all seen Ronaldo wannabes on the pitch and some of them immitate very good but i ve almost never seen someone do a 'Messi' moment.

It all depends on what style you prefer, i think one is better than the other in different departments, if i had to explain Messi & Ronaldo to someone that knows nothing, I'd say Ronaldo is more complete (which doesn't make him better) and a bit more clutch, and Messi has more vision and is the better Dribbler (Even though Ronaldo holds the record for most dribbles in a single game), it all depends on your style, But i think no one is better than the other, if they were, this wouldn't be a conversation 18+ years later 🙏🏾

I dont think he is as talented as messi but because he's got more style and confidence than messi, more athleticism and he scores in any way posible and he is very clutch I like him better. I find him more entretaining and he is just as efficent as messi.

The difference is that Ronaldo needs all this in his Arsenal to beat players and score. he's trained hard in every way possible to become more complete and add more options to his footballing ability. Whereas Messi doesn't even need the tricks or the flashiness. He's able to beat players and go passed them just with pure ball control. He's perfect in his play and so he doesn't need to come up with skills to become better. He's raw talent.
