Take it easy with putting yourself under pressure boss. These types of build you do always turn out to be awesome regardless of the hiccups. Your dedication to authenticity is insane.
Thank you Ryan, glad you enjoy the builds mate :) But to be perfectly blunt I sort of can't haha. Economy is tanking, cost of living rising, and views dropping. Not a great combo.
@@Zorpazorp ah, that sucks… I’ll keep the new video replaying in my sleep to show support to the algorithm 🤣 (it was a brilliant video, by the way, I’ll start financially supporting soon if I can. It’d be a damned shame if all this work couldn’t go for more than a couple of episodes. Best of luck with the algorithm, mate.)
A friendly tip for the next time you do hazard stripes: before you paint the yellow, do a few coats of white first. it will make the yellow a ton more contrast to the black, it will pop more, and it will take fewer coats of yellow, rather than all those coats spent covering up the black. With the bright yellow you can grime it down with a wash, or weather it with some inks or sponged-on metallic colors.
I'm really hoping to hear your best Blood Raven quote impressions during this series "Enagaging Warp Spider!", "Ahhhh it is the BANEBLADE!" and "YAHAYAYHAGGHGHGHG&YGYGHYHGH!" Being some of my favourites.
This is awesome work. Really appreciate you sharing your struggles with the projects. In this social media age we are surrounded by relentless and manufactured positivity. Takes a lot of courage to be authentic online, and I salute you for that. You're a fantastic ambassador for the hobby - keep up the great work
Thank you mate, I couldn't agree more. I'm sick and tired of pretending to be endlessly happy when a lot of what I do is failing and seriously affecting my future here on YT.
I’m more of an AoS and fantasy than 40k player, but man this takes me back! Dawn of War is still one of my all time favourite games, Played the heck out of every single expansion, especially Dark Crusade!
This looks awesome!!! I tried writing custom rules for a table top dawn of war game couple years ago, but life got in the way and logistical issues lol Glad to see someone finally bringing it to life! Will be watching along for sure :):)keep up the great work :):)
Absolutely loved Dawn of War growing up and Gabriel Angelos is by far my favourite character from the 40k universe, looking forward to seeing him in action.
I am of course looking forward to seeing the Imperial Guard, but I will admit to being more curious as to how you plan to tackle the Dark Crusade and Soulstorm campaign modes, since they don't have narrative missions per-say. (No doubt at all these first two videos will take off like Stormboy around da Burnaboyz tent.)
One note, granted I haven't painted in 17 years but for translucent paints such as yellow or reds you should try painting with white or grey first, it covers the black and gives a great under light to your yellow or red
Love the content, bit of constructive critisism though, i think the marine buildings look a bit plain and flat, especially on the big flat pannels. I think some more heavy weathering could make them pop more.
Completely agree, if you watch the full journey you'll understand why that didn't happen haha! should get them all nice and weathered for the next filming session :)
Using Liquitex inks instead of acrylic paints when airbrushing your bright colours makes things much much easier. No need to fiddle with mixing and thinning, just spray that stuff at bottle strength. No clogs and a great color intensity easily. Do yourself a favor and get some.
I love Dawn of War, I have so many hours investing in playing that game! I love you use of those clips as well. What a great build, those look amazing!
As always i love the content and am looking forward to seeing the next video. And also you did well to keep it together and plough through the tough moments you had. Keep going Lachie you have lots of fans and supporters who are rooting for you.
This is amazing. I have been waiting eagerly for every episode of this series. I will definitely be making some dawn of war terrain now! The nostalgia is strong!
hearing you say that about the airbrush as a pro is really refreshing, i feel the same way. weird mental block and when i finally overcome it i knock out half an army or something amazing.
its all woth it i just saw the campaign video on zorphammer and man, what great fun, i need this! thanks for pushing through and making this happen, its amazing what you can do in just a few ays i hope you dont burn out with stuff like this and very keeping timelines, i need more zorp for a looong time coming!
You continue to amaze me with your ideas and enthusiasm. This DoW idea is truly brilliant and you should licence it back to GW 😉 - It is however, going to get me into trouble as I have no dug out my DoW disks as I need to play a game and that means I am not painting the hordes of models I have printed!!!
so by happenstance, i paused this video at one second and the video on zorphammer for actual gameplay at 2 seconds and i was getting confused at what i was looking at for a moment cus they are almost the same image, just the zorphammer looks more polished with color coding and this one you have your hair down, and its just amazing cus the board and the background are epically almost in sync just slightly off.
The "IMPERIAL NAVY AVENGER STRIKE FIGHTER", have you ever thought about letting it fly backwards? Look up the Tandem Wing Aircraft, it comes then quite close to it. Like: "Tandem Wing Aircraft Were Almost A Thing In WWII | Miles M.35/39 Libellula [Aircraft Overview #83]" from "Rex's Hangar". The things that need to change, are the cockpit & engines orientation and the weapon mounting points. And the "IMPERIAL NAVY MARAUDER BOMBER" probably would look way better, if you reverse the direction of flight, as well. The only problem is creating the new set of small wings and getting a second set of those T-tails. Fun things, those exhaust pipes above the engines, could then easily become guns, so a bonus, right there, because why would jet engines need combustion engine exhaust pipes? They don't. And why is there no lower turret, on that bomber? 0.5 flying fortress??? Seems to me as if you might be able to bring it to another level, if so wanted. Just think, two such modified Avenger Strike Fighters, escorting such a modified Marauder Bomber. If painted just right, they would be quite a striking sight, right?
Clearly too late to be useful for the current project, but for future reference: I think the Gorilla Glue you were probably being recommended is Gorilla Super Glue Gel (Green Cap one)... not the usual brown stuff... the superglue gel works like a dream for gluing FDM prints... the usual Gorilla Glue brown stuff OTOH works.. just like it did here XD
OH hell yeah! Thank you so much buddy, I want just flicking through FDM printing forums while standing in the hardware store, so I probably misread. That explains a lot haha
The internet lied to you :( Regular superglue should work great on FDM prints if they're using PLA, it'll weld the plastic together but the fumes are not great so do it with a respirator or outdoors.
Thingiverse has a few DoW building files on it for free if you look around. I printed some very passable SM and IG turrets with an Ender 3 PLA printer. Buildings and even vehicles for 28mm are just fine from a filament printer, there *are* more evident layers than resin but slap some cheap paint on those bad boys and have them sitting on a tabletop 3ft from your eyeballs and they're mint. I'd sooner have 3 slightly funky IG tanks for $20 of filament than one tank for $100!
Don't burn out, dude! I' ve been calling ya madman in all my comments, but everybody has their limit... wouldn't wanna see you broken...I believe in you though!
The gorilla glue you used was the wrong kind, they make an excellent super glue that is what I've used for resin printed stuff in the past, and it works wonderfully. doesn't foam and expand, but holds stronger than regular super glue.
@@Zorpazorp no problem, I have to pick up some more of it myself so I can slap together the Ork Warboss I picked up from Ramshackle Games a while back, not an ork player (yet), but this dude looked way too cool to pass up.
I did check the other video that you asked for. Congratulations on this titanic task. Color me quite interested in this campaign. I hope this will be a big hit for you amd your channel.
Man, when you initially said you were using gorilla glue and then you just were setting them aside my thought was - doesn’t that stuff expand like foam? I’m glad you sorted it out.
"He who stands with me shall be my brother." "Walk softly and carry a big gun." "Ahhh brothers we are together again!" "The fallen will be forever remembered as the Emperors finest." "Hehheheh they do not have a prayer." Dawn of War is burnt into my brain and this looks so cool 🤩
Lmao. I was sitting there like "he does know gorilla glue is polyurethane glue right? And that it expands.. Right? ... .. Maybe he knows that and is gonna like clamp em down? ... ... I guess not"

I know its not a proper collaboration, but man. Eons of Battle and Zorpazorp in the same video (kinda)? I love it.
For 3d printing filament, use PLASTIC MAGIC model cement by deluxe, it melts the filament like a normal plastic model, super strong and simple.
