The king of stupidly massive scenery is BACK ladies and gentlemen and today we officially kick off an absolutely massive build of the most famous location in all of Warhammer, the Imperial Palace on Terra from the grimdark universe of Warhammer 30000. This build is going to be an absolute monster, and I have actually already been working on it in disguise for well over a year. In today’s video we’re going to explore how on earth I’m going to tackle such a massive behemoth of a build, look at some of the techniques we have at our disposal and give you guys an update on all the progress so far, as well as the plan moving forwards. So without further ado let’s begin the biggest build in the history of Zorpazorp. Well for now at least.

petitioners' row (I think it was called) would be really good place to do for skirmishes. It has/had a huge church where the Emperor got information about Horus' betrayal and so on. It's featured in a few novels.

Can't wait to see some epic scale minis on this board. I think that gate is more than wide enough for 2 warlord titans to stride through side by side.
Yeah I sized the gate of the smaller Imperator, so two Warlords should be golden I think :)

Also, in case it has been a worry, the little videos which document some steps of progress towards the big end goal are excellent! This was a very digestible video that didn't need to be any bigger. I did a 10x10 board for Star Wars Legion and X Wing for a few weeks. I am currently working on a 40k list for the 10x10 once my space becomes available again but I am trying to scratch build every part of it. really cool to see form worked like this I have the pink kind I am not sure if they cut any differently

I had a similar idea years ago with the release of aeronatica imperialis and that on a small board you’d use the aircraft and if they target a ground unit you’d apply it to the 28mm board but they would not have to worry about flying big air models in a very packed urban board or around small ground units.

You are going to need a bigger workshop. Not necessarily a bad dilemma to have. Stay fit, eat healthy and keep your fluids up. You're going to need it. This will be amazing. Take care man.
For the Battledamaged plating there are actually historical examples that could work well for inspiration and scale moddelers have worked with theese for a while: ironclad ships where iron plates were added to wooden ships and zimmerit on german WWII tanks, which was a spacer coating to prevent magnetic mines from sticking. The technikes used to moddel theese two could work well for you.

@@Zorpazorp I am verry gratefull for the entusiastic response. I allways viewed scale modeling and wargaming as one thing. And for realism there is a lot of experiance in the historical moddeling comunity. For Zimmerit specificly there is a youtuber caled "night shift" who has a few different tutorials, he also has some grat battledamage tutorials. For twisted metal diorama moddeling I recomend the youtuber "Plasmo" he has lots of post apocalyptic dioramas with burned/destroyed armor and vehicels. While theese are way too detailed to replicate on the scale you are working on, I think that there are some Ideas that could be adopted.
I remember a white dwarf from the early 2000s that had a diorama of the siege of terra. Can’t remember the exact white dwarf but was 2002ish

I love you Zorp....I have for many a year now. With that said, I cant wait for some TLOTR or some SW live action board games again. Its been a while.
You won't ever see battle reports on this channel again, the TH-cam metrics just can't support gaming and crafting content on the same channel, but that's why I have @ZorpHammer now!
i love how you stay true to the original stories and artworks and other source material and mix it with your style and different building techniques to make absolutely everything modular (crazy task!!) - i dont have the ability to support you financially atm, but boy oh boy do i want to, bc i need this in my life. You are actually the reason i kind of got more and more into 40k and even the Horus Heresy, which i thought impossible bc its just space marines vs space marines, but in the epic scale... oh man, thats bad for my wallet... does anyone know a good starting point to get into the deep deep well of heresy lore, some good easy overview over the factions, so i can choose one for my (inevitable) buy in of the legions set?

I always love your builds, keeps remidning me I need to start making some terrain. I do wanna ask where do you get your foam from? The green bastion foam in Australia is quite brittle and hard to work with, or woudl you reccomend it?
The Bastion foam is hot garbage but apparently Bunnings just changed the brand! But I'm not sure as I'm in New Zealand now :)

I know you're a lotr mega fan and you've made the board for it - have you ever considered doing other fantasy landscapes, I suppose its because I'm rereading Tad Williams but I was thinking about how would you make Osten Ard, the spikes of Naglimund, the wooden stockade of Heisyadarch etc, or the world of David Eddings Pandion knights, or even Thomas Covenant's Land - those are worlds at war so would be great to fight through, it's just an idea but I figured I could let it brain worm you
Uh oh, brain worm implanted! It's hard because there's a LOAD of stuff I'd love to do but YT is really constricting on how broad one can go. For now I've got a lot of goals to accomplish in Middle Earth and 40k/30k, but we'll see in the future!
