The other great reason to have the portable unit is we had to clean the air traffic control station at an airport one time. It took all of the hoses from TWO trucks and didn't do a great job because A) the cleaning solution had so much distance to travel through the hoses it wasn't even hot once it got up to the cleaning wand and B) there was so much suction/vacuum hose attached that the vacuum was quite poor
He makes very valid points, there's no single correct tool for every job

I don't mean to criticize you or your workmanship.
I do all the maintenance work and cleaning for 3 property management companies.
And with each one. When I first doing their work. They wanted to stay with the carpet cleaning company they were using.
    I said fine.
Well 2 of the companies had truck mounts. And one had the portable like the person in the video used.
Within the first month ten times. I was working at a location when the carpet cleaners showed up.
So watched what these guys did, as I was working.
    I couldn't believe it.
They didn't have a clue what they were doing.
Well after they were done and gone.
I pulled out my little vacuum type carpet cleaner. That I keep in my truck. To do touch ups or if I get something on the carpet.
I knew what I would find.
    And this is what happened.
Each time I would go to one of the bedrooms, they had just cleaned.
You could see most of the stains.
And then when I started the extraction. My machine would file up with so much dirty water. That I would have to empty my machine 8 to 10 times.
Needless to say I do all the carpet cleaning now.
All the pretreatment and scrubbing is just common sense.
But the key to carpet cleaning is the extraction.
You just don't go over a area 2 or 3 times and say thats good. Because it's not.
You go over it until no more dirty water is coming up. And only clean water is coming up.
And then you keep going over it until NO water comes up.
That is a completely clean carpet.
And this process takes a very long time.
To where 1 room could take 3 to 4 hours. And with the rental properties I'm doing. Thats usually the case.
They look like the carpet in this video.
So if you get your carpet cleaned and it only took the guy a hour.
    You got screwed.
And you will have a very hard time finding someone who does the job correct.
If you can find someone, which I doubt.
Because they ALL have some bs line to feed you.
    Good luck.

I’m, I personally would have encapsulated that carpet. If you do a 2 step by agitating with a fiber pad after you let your prespray sit about 10 minutes. Then go over again with bonnet should turn out well, and there won’t be any soapy residue left or any wick back. I should really make some videos. I be doing this 20+ yrs. 3-5 hrs. Lol.

Leaning the wand against the walls will definitely damange the wall with the slightest of accidents. Its a bad habit most caroet cleaners have.
You could learn how to stretch and repair carpet and up sale an extra $100 on that job to stretch it.

Man you didn't vacuum prior to pre-spray then extraction - not a good Job (even if client doesnt pay for vacuum you have to do it) - and also you CAN buy the pro-solutions without being a professional carpet cleaner (wrong advice again)

If u get wet and leave even damp, when u leave it looks great. As it dries the dirt in the padding wicks back up the stains return and 2 days later customers are like what happened? Unless u have super powerful wet suction finishing w/ a dry product absorbs dirt and moisture truly removing the problem. There are products that compete w/ these specialized products way cheaper. I mix a small amount of dawn w/ a safe dollar store product that's unbelievably effective. Finish with host to dry

Personally, that was a poor job. Most of those stains will resoil some parts looked really unprofessional, using your foot to rub your spot cleaning agent into the stains was not good & very lazy over all I'd give that job 6out10 for effort . Sorry, this is my honest opinion, and I have been cleaning carpets and upholstery for 40 years found it disappointing
