Shazam can say the word without intent, it only requires intent for him to change. And no, Superman's laser eyes cannot zigzag like Darkseid's. Batman can dodge Superman's punches because he is possessed and not at his full strength and is distracted.
A better way to say it is from Batman: Hush, Superman always holds back while being mind controlled because he's fighting the mind control and what it's telling him to do. Batman said that if Superman wasn't fighting the mind control from Poison Ivy, he, Batman would be a smear on the concrete.
Apparently its not how its supposed to work. The ring only ever comes off a green lantern if they give it up or they die. Imagine every villain beating green lantern cause they distract him then take his ring. In this cinematic universe its possible though

Initially Thanos was designed after a different New God, Metron, who is quite well know for always sitting in his Mobius Chair, but people at Marvel told the creator to make him look more like Darkseid, so they modified the design to look like him. So Thanos’ design takes elements from both Metron and Darkseid.
I never found them all that comparable anyway. Darkseid is a god. Thanos just likes to think he is. And I'm saying this as someone who vastly prefers Thanos because i find Darkseid to be a bit of a one-note character. If I had a dollar for every time I've seen him casually floating around with his arms crossed behind his back while he boasts about his Omega Beams, I'd have quite a few dollars! ;)

For decades, if either Billy Batson or Captain Marvel said "Shazam" for any reason, it would summon the lightning and cause a transformation. But with his New 52 introduction, the wizard told Billy that only saying the word forcefully and with the INTENT to transform, would summon the lightning. So saying the word casually like introducing himself, was no longer a problem. Of course that eliminated lots of comedic and dramatic potential, since accidental transformations were a standard part of Captain Marvel stories. Historically he was essentially Superman without the Kryptonite weakness, so becoming Billy at unexpected times was how they'd kept him from being too OP. So after taking away that problem DC just nerfed him all-around, making his not as strong/fast/tough as he'd been before. In these DCAU movies, Shazam is more of a lightning blaster than a brawler, whereas classic Captain Marvel typically fought Superman to a standstill, and had even beaten him a few times.
the thing about Green Lantern is that there are a ton of Green Lanterns as their part of the Green Lantern Corps. There are other Lantern Corps such as Yellow Lanterns (Fear), Red Lanterns (Rage), Pink Lanterns or Sapphire Corps (Love but I say they're more like the Yandere Corps), Orange (Greed), Black (Death), and finally the Brown Lanterns which is shit. Okay I obviously made the last one up as a joke but all the other ones are from the comics
So basically this movie took place before the ending of flashpoint were bruce reads the letter which is how they didnt know eachother and this film shows how they met eafhother in the new universe created by the flash

I like how Wonder Woman and Superman are the ones to sonic boom punch darkseid it shows they’re the brutes and tanks of the team with the strength (yes ik Shazam is there but he’s more versatile in this than strength)
In the Justice League New 52 comic run, the League fight a team of villains from another universe called The Crime Syndicate which is just the evil versions of the Justice League. They also infect Cyborg with a virus that literally kicks him out of his own body and becomes the villain Grid. The movies don’t cover that exact plot line but they do there own thing in the movie Justice League Crisis on Two Earths
So In last movie flash saved his mom and then at the end he went back to stop himself from doing that. As you saw. By saving his mom he created a different timeline. One at war. As you saw. But when he went back in time to stop himself/let his mom die he created yet another timeline. So far we have 3 timelines. The og. We saw at the beginning of last movie. The war from last movie. And this new one. These movies follow the new one
5:50 essentially, the flash travelling back in time and then "fixing it" didnt make everything go back to normal, the world is still slightly different. In this case, they never actually met till this movie due to him messing with time. Simply put, fixinf flashpoint still changed the timeline, this movie is how they came together in THIS timeline
So many memorable moments in this movie. My favorite is Shazam going at Darkseid and getting swatted away then proceeds to get punched out on the ground by Parademons. Best meme.

Everyone who watches this universe wonders why Shazam doesn't changes when he says his name. Well that's something live action films established , comics say otherwise.
So... Darkseid isn't necessarily the most powerful villain in DC, some entities, especially in modern comics, are as powerful, if not moreso than him, the Anti-Monitor, the Batman Who Laughs/The Darkest Knight, or Perpetua, for example. But he's supposed to be their embodiment of “pure evil”, as long as evil exists, Darkseid does, and as long as Darkseid exists, evil does. But the truly terrifying thing about Darkseid, he sends his armies because he can't be bothered to do it himself, when the army fails, he can just project a weakened copy of himself into the universe he's invading, so unless you're fighting him in Apokolips, the place the Parademons were made and Darkseid's realm, you're probably fighting Darkseid's half-assing-it clone... and he's STILL nearly killing the entire Justice League.

You’re gonna love Justice League Dark Apokalips War. That movie is insane and brings literally everyone from the DCAMU together so you get the suicide squad, teen titans, justice league, justice league dark all together in the same movie.
Basically how the timeline works is that these movies are what happened in the timeline up to Flashpoint, so flashpoint movie takes place way after this movie, and all movies are basically a recount of everything or similar yk (btw thsi is a rough description but yurrr) love the reactions

Here's how it works. The Flashpoint Paradox reset the universe. Even though Barry prevented himself from changing his past in the end, he ended up resetting everything. That's what a Flashpoint does. So this is a brand new origin story for the Justice League. Whole new stories in most cases. Consider a cup. You accidently break it. You can put it back together, but there will still be cracks. So you can try your best to fix it, but it will never be the same again. That is pretty much what Flash did at the end of the last movie. In summary, the Flash reset the universe, so this is a whole different story than where he originally came from. Hope that makes sense.
So excited you watched this movie. I love this animated film and you NEED to continue your journey. The last one is an R-Rated Endgame with less hope for survival. Just perfection!
"You're OP, dude." That's kind of the problem with long-running comics. The power levels of both the good guys and bad guys have to creep upwards. Bigger, badder, more spectacular! Then repeat. (see E. E. Smith's corny but classic 'Lensman' space-opera novels for a perfect example of power creep-and for a strong influence on Green Lantern)
rlly hope you keep watch the dc animated movies like doom and crisis on two earths. The batman ones especially are great tho like under the red hood, killing joke and the dark knight returns
So for the best explanation I’ve heard is the timeline is cup and changing history is like chipping a piece away and we can go back and put the timeline back to how it was supposed to be the broken chipped cup is not going to look the same with its piece put back in place it’s going to be a cup with a visible crack
The key to understanding this movie is that Flashpoint: Paradox rebooted the timeline, creating the reality that we're seeing now. So this is the first time all the various heroes are encountering each other. Batman has been around for years, but everyone else is relatively new to the superhero game. In Cyborg's case, we see his origin. This is an animated adaptation DC's 2011 reboot of its comic book universe, called the New 52. These versions of characters aren't the best (the Justice League cartoon from 2000 and pre-Flashpoint DC animated movies are superior) but the character interactions and snappy dialogue along with everyone meeting each other for the first time, makes it fun.
To be fair, the Justice League Cartoon was built in Batman: TAS and Superman: TAS because they are continuations of those characters. This Superman is much stronger than the Superman: TAS and Justice League and Justice League Unlimited Superman. He's also bigger in height and size, just as New52 Superman was bigger than Post-Crisis Superman. Post-Crisis was just a touch under 6'4" and he wore flat-soled boots that were more like socks and New52 was the same but wore thick-soled, militaristic boots which made him more like 6'5" and Post-Crisis Supes was 225 lbs and New52 Supes was 235 lbs. Post-Crisis had to strain to move the Earth while New52 bench pressed the weight of the planet for 5 days straight with no sunlight and only broke a single drop of sweat. However, Post-Crisis was MUCH more powerful than New52, but that was due to Post-Crisis being almost twice New52's age. Post-Crisis was also a more rugged looking man while New52 was more boyish in the face.
Keep watching all the DCAU up to Apocalypse War which is the final movie in this run of this "Universe" of DC. These are IMO the Best Of The Best DC Movies out there! I have hard copies of all of them and paid extra for the figures you could get with the "special editions". I lived for these movies! My Favs! So glad you're having a blast!
Short version: there are a variety of power ring types based on other emotions (Green Lantern is Will). And Yes, there are some really cool stories where Batman gets his hands on one or another.
Batman actually does get the Green Lantern ring at some point. There are also many different variants of the rings. Green Lantern aren't the only ones. Red Lanterns' powers are fueled by rage. Their leader is Atrocitus, who is basically a mix of The Devil and The Hulk. Orange Lanterns' powers are fueled by greed. Their leader is Larfleeze. He actually murdered every other Orange Lantern just so he could have all the Orange Lantern Rings to himself. Yellow Lanterns' powes are controlled by fear. Their leader is Sinestro. He was teased in the Green Lantern post-credits scene, but they never did anything with that. Green Lanterns' powers are controlled by willpower. You know the rest. Blue Lanterns' powers are fueled by hope. Their power is enhanced greatly whenever a Green Lantern is nearby. Indigo Lanterns' powers are powered by compassion. Violet Lanterns' powers are powered by love. Their leader is the Star Sapphire, Carol Ferris, who is Hal Jordan's love interest. I highly recommend reading the Blackest Night comics, which include ALL of these lanterns and more!

The jump from Flashpoint Paradox to War can seem very confusing chronologically. It won't make much sense until *WAY* later. But from War on there is a solid continuity all the way into JL Dark: Apokolips War. And yes I do highly recommend watching the arc all the way through. They were very good. And I often think the same as you about the effects. If they made a live-action movie based on this one, how much do you think the total budget would have cost just to make that final ending sequence alone? Let alone how much money to make over a dozen movies (plus how long that would take, and the actors would age, etc.)? Actually, thinking about how long it's been since Iron Man 1 first came out, if DC had had foresight and a solid plan, (and brains) their live-action DCEU saga could have been phenomenal.
Realistically, it shouldn’t cost anything more than what they spend nowadays. Can’t have films like transformers made for what they made it for and then say it can’t be done with a budget double the size years later
in terms of Barrys punches doing damage, i belive there was a comic where Wonder Woman was punched by the Reverse Flash and she said he hit harder than superman. and Barry is *Faster* than the Reverse Flash.
I’m not sure if anybody explained. Flashpoint ended with Barry changing (resetting) the universe. JL:War is the beginning of the ‘new 52’ era u will absolutely love every movie they’re all connected.
so glad your watching the animated movies, you have to watch them all. after this watch the other animated movies that were released before Flashpoint, they are all stand alone introducing the JL over and over,but they are good, plus the "tomorrow-verse" movies, and Superman: Red Son.... amazing.

Yeah.. But Darkseid in “Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (2010)” is also pretty good.

In the Justice League New 52 comic run, the League fight a team of villains from another universe called The Crime Syndicate which is just the evil versions of the Justice League. They also infect Cyborg with a virus that literally kicks him out of his own body and becomes the villain Grid. The movies don’t cover that exact plot line but they do there own thing in the movie Justice League Crisis on Two Earths

So In last movie flash saved his mom and then at the end he went back to stop himself from doing that. As you saw. By saving his mom he created a different timeline. One at war. As you saw. But when he went back in time to stop himself/let his mom die he created yet another timeline. So far we have 3 timelines. The og. We saw at the beginning of last movie. The war from last movie. And this new one. These movies follow the new one
You should watch "9" the cartoon about dolls, that cane out 2009 one of my favorite movies since I was a kid.
5:50 essentially, the flash travelling back in time and then "fixing it" didnt make everything go back to normal, the world is still slightly different. In this case, they never actually met till this movie due to him messing with time. Simply put, fixinf flashpoint still changed the timeline, this movie is how they came together in THIS timeline
So many memorable moments in this movie. My favorite is Shazam going at Darkseid and getting swatted away then proceeds to get punched out on the ground by Parademons. Best meme.
Shazam can say the word without intent, it only requires intent for him to change.

But it's kinda gruesome. Cause Black represents death, like green represents willpower.
So yeah the wearer has to be dead.
So yeah it's kinda awesome but also sad.

So... Darkseid isn't necessarily the most powerful villain in DC, some entities, especially in modern comics, are as powerful, if not moreso than him, the Anti-Monitor, the Batman Who Laughs/The Darkest Knight, or Perpetua, for example. But he's supposed to be their embodiment of “pure evil”, as long as evil exists, Darkseid does, and as long as Darkseid exists, evil does. But the truly terrifying thing about Darkseid, he sends his armies because he can't be bothered to do it himself, when the army fails, he can just project a weakened copy of himself into the universe he's invading, so unless you're fighting him in Apokolips, the place the Parademons were made and Darkseid's realm, you're probably fighting Darkseid's half-assing-it clone... and he's STILL nearly killing the entire Justice League.

A.W, was a good movie, but it was a FU to fans, killing all the people they killed, then having it end the way it did. it was good, but they needed to end the movies somehow.then the Constantine movie after was, odd, but they had to do it.

19:16 it's omega ray and Superman's one is heat ray totally different and omega Ray's are overpowered once it's locks on a target it never misses, and someone struck by it they'll turn into dust, and only omega ray's only bring back them to life.
So basically, this takes place when Barry fixes the flashpoint then he created and now the timeline reset so this is just the origins of how the justice league came together
It is kinda connected to last movie flash point this is just the universe flash restarted after the flashpoint movie
You’re gonna love Justice League Dark Apokalips War. That movie is insane and brings literally everyone from the DCAMU together so you get the suicide squad, teen titans, justice league, justice league dark all together in the same movie.

Here's how it works. The Flashpoint Paradox reset the universe. Even though Barry prevented himself from changing his past in the end, he ended up resetting everything. That's what a Flashpoint does. So this is a brand new origin story for the Justice League. Whole new stories in most cases.
Consider a cup. You accidently break it. You can put it back together, but there will still be cracks. So you can try your best to fix it, but it will never be the same again. That is pretty much what Flash did at the end of the last movie.
In summary, the Flash reset the universe, so this is a whole different story than where he originally came from. Hope that makes sense.
So excited you watched this movie. I love this animated film and you NEED to continue your journey. The last one is an R-Rated Endgame with less hope for survival. Just perfection!

"You're OP, dude." That's kind of the problem with long-running comics. The power levels of both the good guys and bad guys have to creep upwards. Bigger, badder, more spectacular! Then repeat. (see E. E. Smith's corny but classic 'Lensman' space-opera novels for a perfect example of power creep-and for a strong influence on Green Lantern)

Yes there are some lantern rings that were worn by Bats. Not just green, but white, yellow and black tho if im not mistaking
there was also an after-credit scene with ocean master that sets up the third film in this universe
So for the best explanation I’ve heard is the timeline is cup and changing history is like chipping a piece away and we can go back and put the timeline back to how it was supposed to be the broken chipped cup is not going to look the same with its piece put back in place it’s going to be a cup with a visible crack
The key to understanding this movie is that Flashpoint: Paradox rebooted the timeline, creating the reality that we're seeing now. So this is the first time all the various heroes are encountering each other. Batman has been around for years, but everyone else is relatively new to the superhero game. In Cyborg's case, we see his origin. This is an animated adaptation DC's 2011 reboot of its comic book universe, called the New 52.
These versions of characters aren't the best (the Justice League cartoon from 2000 and pre-Flashpoint DC animated movies are superior) but the character interactions and snappy dialogue along with everyone meeting each other for the first time, makes it fun.
To be fair, the Justice League Cartoon was built in Batman: TAS and Superman: TAS because they are continuations of those characters. This Superman is much stronger than the Superman: TAS and Justice League and Justice League Unlimited Superman. He's also bigger in height and size, just as New52 Superman was bigger than Post-Crisis Superman. Post-Crisis was just a touch under 6'4" and he wore flat-soled boots that were more like socks and New52 was the same but wore thick-soled, militaristic boots which made him more like 6'5" and Post-Crisis Supes was 225 lbs and New52 Supes was 235 lbs. Post-Crisis had to strain to move the Earth while New52 bench pressed the weight of the planet for 5 days straight with no sunlight and only broke a single drop of sweat. However, Post-Crisis was MUCH more powerful than New52, but that was due to Post-Crisis being almost twice New52's age. Post-Crisis was also a more rugged looking man while New52 was more boyish in the face.

Keep watching all the DCAU up to Apocalypse War which is the final movie in this run of this "Universe" of DC. These are IMO the Best Of The Best DC Movies out there! I have hard copies of all of them and paid extra for the figures you could get with the "special editions". I lived for these movies! My Favs! So glad you're having a blast!

And Yes, there are some really cool stories where Batman gets his hands on one or another.
Batman actually does get the Green Lantern ring at some point. There are also many different variants of the rings. Green Lantern aren't the only ones.
Red Lanterns' powers are fueled by rage. Their leader is Atrocitus, who is basically a mix of The Devil and The Hulk.
Orange Lanterns' powers are fueled by greed. Their leader is Larfleeze. He actually murdered every other Orange Lantern just so he could have all the Orange Lantern Rings to himself.
Yellow Lanterns' powes are controlled by fear. Their leader is Sinestro. He was teased in the Green Lantern post-credits scene, but they never did anything with that.
Green Lanterns' powers are controlled by willpower. You know the rest.
Blue Lanterns' powers are fueled by hope. Their power is enhanced greatly whenever a Green Lantern is nearby.
Indigo Lanterns' powers are powered by compassion.
Violet Lanterns' powers are powered by love. Their leader is the Star Sapphire, Carol Ferris, who is Hal Jordan's love interest.
I highly recommend reading the Blackest Night comics, which include ALL of these lanterns and more!

Also yes, there is a comic story where Batman has the yellow Fear ring (works largely same as the Green ring but runs on fear instead of willpower)
The jump from Flashpoint Paradox to War can seem very confusing chronologically. It won't make much sense until *WAY* later. But from War on there is a solid continuity all the way into JL Dark: Apokolips War. And yes I do highly recommend watching the arc all the way through. They were very good.
And I often think the same as you about the effects. If they made a live-action movie based on this one, how much do you think the total budget would have cost just to make that final ending sequence alone? Let alone how much money to make over a dozen movies (plus how long that would take, and the actors would age, etc.)?
Actually, thinking about how long it's been since Iron Man 1 first came out, if DC had had foresight and a solid plan, (and brains) their live-action DCEU saga could have been phenomenal.
Realistically, it shouldn’t cost anything more than what they spend nowadays. Can’t have films like transformers made for what they made it for and then say it can’t be done with a budget double the size years later

I’m not sure if anybody explained. Flashpoint ended with Barry changing (resetting) the universe. JL:War is the beginning of the ‘new 52’ era u will absolutely love every movie they’re all connected.
