Superman, before Crisis on Infinite Earths, could destroy an ENTIRE galaxy just from sneezing AND could pull multiple planets just from one BIG ASS chain
Darkseid's Omega Beams, (he's laser eyes) could transport you to a life in your mind that it's shitty, and when you die in said life, it's a horrible death, and you relive that life but it's worse with a worse death and so on
Green Lanter is so powerful he can blind himself. Batman tricked him into doing so, that's His contingency plan against the lantern. Not convinced? Green Lantern can travel through TIME
Flash is SO fast, he defeated a being who challenged to a race through the universe and these aliens could teleport to said part of the universe, Easy, and he's race against Wally West (another flash) almost destroyed the ENTIRE multiverse
And just to finish, Reverse Flash (Thawne) literally became a living Paradox, meaning if Batman or Superman decided “Na, I'm done with this asshole, they can't really kill him. He can change the timeline as much as he wants and he will NEVER be affected by the changes
“He is way more OP than I thought.” Before the comics and movies and cartoons started nerfing him, Green Lantern was basically a god. Seriously, forget making planes and trains with his ring. They could create suns with those rings. Like, actual honest to God suns!
He can create what he can imagine and as long as he keeps concentrating on it, it won't go away. One of Batman's countermeasures for Green Lantern is to implant a hypnotic trigger in his mind so that if he goes rogue, the trigger can make him think he is blind and because he thinks he's blind, the ring will turn him blind.
As someone who never got into the comics jeez, we’re the white and black lanterns a thing in those comics? If so were they still considered way more powerful than any other lantern?
@@chainsawboy2388 yes. White Lanterns represent Life. Black Lanterns - Death. Black Lanterns were basically zombies with rings. However, they could be killed by the combination of Green Light and any other additional color. White Lanterns, in theory, have access to all the other lights of the emotional spectrum. Best demonstrated by Kyle Rayner and his ability to use different lights for different purposes.
Bruce and Hal were hilarious early New 52. Hal did everything in his power to piss of Bruce, just because it was funny. Batman is super ‘follow the rules’ and shadows/fear, Lantern (Hal) is super ‘do whatever’ and willpower/light. They clashed so much. One of my favorite scenes is Wonder Woman on a video call with Steve Trevor and Hal and Bruce are yelling at each other in the background. Barry comes in to ask a question and they both yell at him to shut up. They then realize Steve Trevor is watching them. Batman tells Steve to shut down the Justice League of America (not the main League) as they were ‘a joke’. Hal meanwhile asks for more snacks to be brought to the Satellite as he had taken the month’s supply of snacks home to his apartment. But when Hal leaves the League Batman is the one to try to convince him to stay, despite them constantly bickering they were the two ‘regular’ humans and bonded over that.
Some context about the flash. Barry to hide his identity goes to the extreme and is intentionally late while out in civilian wear. I think he even says "I haven't seen the first 15 minutes of a movie for a decade" in the comics. So he really really commits to the bit to make sure no one thinks he is the flash.
Worst identity concealer ever. Random person: "Barry Allen is the Flash" Barry: "How could I be? I'm always late" I let this one slide but it is funny to think about
@@Timmmmm42y it's the same concept as Clark being superman the guy is built like a brick house but he seems to meek to be the strongest being in the world
@@BaeBunninot exactly. One is the actions that someone takes and the other is how you pressent yourself. When barry shows up late it displays that he doesnt care enough to be on time. When clark puts on glasses and slouches and acts clumsy it only gives off subliminal ques about what people would expect from him when they first meet him.
@BaeBunni I mean, he's a farm boy being built like a brick s*** house.Isn't that out of the question His biggest defense is that most people don't think someone like Superman would have a sick what identity he's basically a God.Why would he pretend to be a normal Person Because they don't know that he was raised as a normal one
Hey man that’s character development. Gets wrecked by two in the first storyline, can casually kill trillions by himself in the final storyline (Darkseid War)
Yes, the Green Lantern Corps is an intergalactic police force, and each member watches over a specific sector of the universe. Hal Jordan's sector also includes Earth, his home planet. I know the Green Lanterns are the most popular ones, and Hal Jordan is my all times favorite Superhero, but I'd really like to have some more focus on the other Lantern Corps. Imagine how much more powerful Hal would be if a member of the Blue Lantern Corps was with him.
Bule Lanterns are actually the most powerful lanterns in the universe because hope is the most powerful emotion in the universe. But they don’t always have that power, the need a green lantern, because to make hope, you need will to make it a reality.
To be fair, her flying is somewhat new. She had an invisible plane *because* she couldn't fly. But now that she can, the plane thing is mostly forgotten.
The intro between Bruce and Hal is one of the best moments ever Hal realizing Bruce is just normal while doing all the crazy stuff he does, and Bruce just knowing full well he can mess with him at any time. "you wont do that again...." "if i want to" Bruce knowing already he did it once so easily, a second time is just as easy. Young Justice is gonna be fun times too also
Their bickering in the comics is hilarious. Hal realizes he can constantly get under Bruce’s skin and they constantly antagonize each other. At one point even Barry asks Hal to chill with messing with Bruce and why Hal does it, and Hal says ‘it’s fun’. BUT Bruce is actually the one who tries to talk Hal out of leaving the League when Green Lantern and Wonder Woman fight and nearly destroy a neighborhood.
It’s weird that Shazam wasn’t his original name because he’s says Shazam and does sound cooler. But maybe it was because the writers thought if he says Shazam then he would just change form.
@SmashPortal no originally the creator of Shazam made him for marvel marvel passed on him DC took him and he still hade his original name of captain marvel. Then marvel made their own captain marvel took DC to court marvel won and DC just changed his name hell sometimes they still call him captain marvel.
@@matthewchristian9591 yeah even in recent comics they just call him "captain" his name still is captain marvel but i think they cant make a comic named "captain marvel"
He was in no way connected with Marvel given that Marvel Comics didn't yet exist when Captain Marvel was created. He debuted not too long after Superman and was the boy scout's number one rival in comic sales for a long time. Captain Marvel's name was never SHAZAM originally for two reasons; firstly, because it is an acronym meaning wisdom of Solomon, strength of Heracles/Hercules, courage of Achilles, power of Zeus, _endurance_ of Atlas, and the speed of Mercury; secondly, because originally and all the way until very recently if the word SHAZAM was ever said it would change Billy Batson to or fro his superhero form and thus if it was his name, he would never be able to say it without instantly revealing his identity. The reason his name is only sometimes Captain Marvel today is because Marvel won the custody battle on the name despite Billy Batson being the Original Captain Marvel. Thus Billy can only be called 'Captain', 'SHAZAM', or 'Captain Thunder'; however, the line is very blurry and as long as he is not a main member, he can still legally be referred to as 'Captain Marvel' without penalty. It's all very confusing, convoluted, and frankly boring. A little fun fact for ya is that you can thank Captain Marvel for all of Superman's super-family. Mary Marvel, based on the creator's own daughter, was so popular that CM started beating out Superman by leaps and bounds, so DC bought out her creator when CM's parent company fell thru with him and had him create her own rival in the form of Supergirl. Eventually, CM would get CM Jr. as well as Sergeant Marvel and all the others just as Superman would get Superboy, Krypto the Super Dog, the Super cat, the super horse (that crushes on Supergirl for some reason), and the Super primate. I don't really recall if all these additions came before or after DC acquired CM. Technically, I never understood how Superman could defeat CM given that Kryptonians are weak against magic and CM is literally a wizard.
9:19 fun fact the flash's whole thing is he is late to everything just to throw people off the fact he's the flash. Because how can the fastest man on the planet be late.
@@random_comment_guy4607 depends on the continuity. One of my favourite examples is in a comic that starts with nothing happening in his city but instead of getting to work on time he decides to check up on people. Because everyone in star city knows the flash and he actually takes time to talk to them and help like he's helping old lady's cross the road. Either way he's choosing to be late because he decides help/ take his time to enjoy talking to people before work. Also there's literally comic panels where Barry says to Wally to be late once and a while to avert suspicion.
The "Thanos vs Darkseid" debate isn't really even a question. Darkseid is a multiversal being, if memory serves, so every iteration of him in any given universe is just an avatar of the bigger Darkseid entity. Dude's so hench he can't even manifest fully in any one universe without breaking it.
They serve similar villain roles and have similar cosmic scale powers. But yeah Death Battle hit the nail on the head. Even with a working Infinity Gauntlet. Darksied smashes Thanos easy. He is a literal god compared to Thanos
@@Stan_man Still not a competition, Galactus exists within a universe scale and each universe may or may not have a Galactus whilst Darkseid exists above any one universe and is on the multiverse level with the only things above him being those above/outside of the multiverse like lucifer or the presence.
so technically the last movie you watched (Flashpoint Paradox) but really this movie is the beginning of the DCAMU with 16 titles in it. they’ll all be in the same continuity. there’s quite a few continuities and a few standalones. for the DCAMU Justice League Flashpoint Paradox Justice League War Son of Batman Justice League Throne of Atlantis Batman vs Robin Batman Bad Blood Justice League vs Teen Titans Justice League Dark Teen Titans Judas Contract Suicide Squad Hell to Pay The Death of Superman Reign of Superman Batman Hush Wonder Woman Bloodlines Justice League Dark Apocalypse War Constantine House of Mystery Constantine City of Demons You hit it on the nail with saying that the previous one reset the universe :)
the Batman movies are generally praised. the Superman Donner movies and a few other scattered ones like Wonder Woman, The Suicide Squad, Birds Prey. but their animated movies and shows have alwaysssss been their sweet spot and where they receive a ton of acclaim. (aside from comics and novels of course) also some of the live action shows like Doom Patrol, Swamp Thing, Watchmen, Sandman, Sweet Tooth and more! :) i am such a die hard DC fan so it’s been truly so exciting to watch you guys on this journey
24:00 ok to clarify on Shazam. Billy Batson is Shazam or captain marvel he was the one who inherited the powers of Shazam. Later on down the line he discovers he can share this power with his foster family making them the Shazam kids with each having one aspect of Shazam’s powers and each individually having an adult form to go along with it. Even further down the line Billy figured out they they can all combine into one from upping their power as captain thunder. So far the captain thunder thing is exclusive to the flashpoint universe and will probably stay that way.
It likely will given that there is literally no reason to have them all be Captain Thunder in terms of power. Cpt Thunder should be equal to Cpt Marvel.
25:42 Wonder Woman hasn't had the invisible jet in MANY, MANY years. Once they gave her ability to fly it became redundant. 33:55 Bizarro was a failed clone created by Lex Luthor in most continuities 36:33 Shazam is both the name of the hero as well as the name of the Wizard who gifted Billy his power. Shazam is as strong as Superman in most continuities. Shazam isn't just a name, but an acronym; Six gods make up the power of Shazam. Billy has the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the lightning of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury - hence S.H.A.Z.A.M.
@@MaigenMaylight In another discussion there is this explanation. " They are six legendary figures whose wisdom, strength, stamina, power, courage, and speed are combined to create the powerful superhero known as Shazam. In this mythology, Solomon is known for his wisdom and knowledge, which is represented by the "S" in the acronym "SHAZAM." The other figures represented by the acronym are: H: Hercules, who provides the strength of the hero A: Atlas, who provides the hero with stamina and durability Z: Zeus, who provides the hero with the power to wield lightning and other magical abilities A: Achilles, who provides the hero with courage and invincibility M: Mercury, who provides the hero with superhuman speed and agility" Also hes name use to be Captain Marvel, but Marvel was not happy about DC having character name after that, so they made him Shazam instead.
Right, apart from Bizarro? Recent versions have been a clone, because that's simpler, but traditionally he's always been a dimensional counterpart of Superman, from a universe where everyone is "bizarro".
@@franciscosantiagorodriguez8012 Neither are Hercules or Atlas. The former is a demigod and the latter a titan. It's also the "power of Zeus" not the "lightning of Zeus" that is attributed to him, though, admittedly, it's mostly synonymous in this case, like as not. Oh, and his name being Shazam is a relatively recent development. He was Captain Marvel for decades. Wonder Woman has also been portrayed with her invisible jet as recently as 2020 in both the animated and live action versions. There's a few things wrong with this post.
Quick Rundown of Superhero Origins Batman: Dead Parents -> Lots of Money -> Crime Fighter Superman: Krypton boom and lands on Earth -> Raised by good farm folk and learns he's an alien later and becomes a hero Wonder Woman: Daughter of Amazon Queen and Zeus, was made from clay and became a demigod Green Lantern: Got his ring from a dying member of the Green Lantern Corps, got enlisted to take his place Shazam: Kid meets wizard, Wizard gives him magic powers and bypassed puberty Flash: Struck by lightning + got tossed into chemicals = Superspeed(?) Cyborg: Gets severely hurt and gets Cyberpunk'd by his scientist dad.
It still is Canon yes. In the comics, he only manifests his larger form to fight more powerful opponents, like the Anti-monitor or Empty Hand (most recent time).
I could be wrong, but I believe this was only true up until Crisis, then with the new 52, it was changed to where that is the one true Darkseid, no greater form.
One of my most favourite parts was the movie showing how Superman could take almost anything that Batman throws at him. Way too many adaptations make him out to be so weak compared to Dark Knight.
To be fair Batman didn’t have contingency plans for him other than his name, but true, upon first encounter super man pretty much beats him. And superhuman holding back while Batman doesnt is a huge edge for Batman too.
I don't think any media makes Superman weak in comparison to Batman. There are plenty of stories that take place before Batman knew of any way to beat Superman, and even "presently" he still usually has to manipulate Clark in some way to _not_ fight. Such as having Catwoman throw Lois Lane off a roof to undo Ivy's hypnotism on Clark to kill Batman. Batman acknowledged then that if they ran the fair one and if he wasn't already resisting Superman would've splattered him. Or Bruce planting a thermal field/trigger around his body that if Clark's dense body passed through would "blow up some innocent in Gotham." The "innocent" was Batman himself but it stopped Superman because there was no real "lie" for his heartbeat to give away to Clark's super hearing, and he could see the thermal trigger with his vision. I just think now in comics there are so many ways Superman can be beat or has been beaten outright it'd be stupid if Batman didn't have a few. Superman even helps with a few of these, such as giving Batman a kryptonite ring or helping forge the Hellbat armor.
Darkseid is the living personification of evil and tyranny. He is INSANELY powerful that whenever he shows up, everyone and I mean everyone goes into red alert, all hands on deck, and even then it’s still not enough half the time. He is more than capable of handing Superman his ass. As for his Omega Beams, Superman is among the few creatures to ever survive a direct hit from them, while Batman has DODGED them - a feat which earned Darkseids respect.
To put into perspective how bad Darkseid is, he made Batman _in canon_ abandon both his vow against guns and his vow against killing simultaneously, and they took each other out. Not only is he a new god created from the destructions of the old, he often calls himself "the hole in things" as he exists the same in every universe and absolutely _must_ exist. He cannot truly be dead long
@@EggBoi_8 That suit was forged by the entire League _specifically_ for Darkseid. Parts of it needed to be forged _inside a star._ It gradually kills whoever wears it with its power. That's not an example of Darkseid beong taken lightly. It exists as a response to Darkseid's overwhelming power.
Guys, you don't realize HOW powerful Hal is. He can Time travel and even manipulate himself. Batman tricked into tricking he is blind AND Hal blinded himself. In the comics, not sure if something like that happens in the animated movies
@@cristianantonioramoslopez9725 you're not wrong tho, it did happen to Hal in one of the movies, but it was when someone else hijacked batman's contingency plans for the justice league and was taking out everyone. Green lantern rings are living computers that can do a lot of things aside of creating energy constructs like scanning, locate targets, universal translatior, e beacon in case of emergency, e library of a lot of information about the universe called the Green Lantern codex, and they can create pocket universes to hide and carry objects to then use it later, among other things.
Fun little fact on darkside. What they are fighting is just a golam copy of him. And he is only able to shove maybe 5% of his power into them. He is the literal embodiment of tyranny and power. He lives in another dimension and just has lesser copies of himself doing his bidding in every other universe. Deathbattle does a great breakdown on him.
I don't know why in the Flashpoint alternate universe, Shazam was all the kids as one person, but the usual version and movies he's just Billy or all of them can turn into a group of super powered kids
Just like how Thomas Wayne became Batman because of Bruce dying instead of him and Martha, or how Superman ended up in the hands of the government instead of the Kents in Smallville… Alternate universe, alternate origins. Though the kids becoming one hero is a nod to the Shazam family (previously known as the Marvel family), where Billy’s adopted siblings also had Shazam powers.
@@dukeheavens9990he's literally in multiple occasions disavowed Guns in multiple iterations and interpretation and his entire crusade LITERALLY started because of some guy with a gun
Just a fun side note, in the scene where Hal caught all the humans, Superman was suposed to be there with Wonder Woman, Batman, and Cyborg, but I guess the studio messed up and put Shazam there by accident.
21:40 And this is also like a "his father won" bc now like this he cant be a football player anymore. So he basically crushed his dreams. A bit of understanding now on how fkd up Cyborg was later on...
Billy holds the power, but eventually he shares it with the others.. SHAZAM is an acronym for the powers of Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury. At one point in his history, he was considered more powerful than Superman.
This and All the next movies are set in the new timeline flash created at the end of flashpoint paradox. Stopping himself from saving his mum didn’t restore things to how they were it just creates a new, more normal timeline but one still different from his original. The flash in this movie hasn’t yet been replaced by the one who went through the events of flashpoint.
24:20 Yeah the kid facing down an Alien people snatcher decided his best chance at survival was not to run, screaming, looking for an adult but to grab a wooden stick, yell a nonsense word (to anyone who doesn't know what it means) and swing at the Alien people snatcher clad in Alien Metal Armor.
*Darkseid is* I feel like this is what the DCEU Justic League wanted to be, an epic joining of Forces between a bunch of heroes against the forces of evil.
Shazam is kinda off a demi god as well. He's powers are magical. He's name is a acronym, he's got: Wisdom of Solomon, Strength of Hercules, Stamina of Atlas, Power of Zeus, Courage of Achilles and the Speed of Mercury. In his peek he can fight toe to toe with Superman and win since Clark is vulnerable to magic.
One thing a lot of Batman media outside the comics gets wrong is that Batman isn't meant to be thought of as entirely real, and by those who do think he exists they shouldn't think he's human. That's why Green Lantern and Flash were so surprised from meeting him. Often people think he's just a Gotham myth, and that was on purpose by Bruce Wayne. The whole point of dressing up like a Bat instead of just normal tactical gear was to prey on the superstitions and cowardice of criminals, it's using their fear as a weapon to keep the criminal element in line. The weapon is strong but it's lessened when he breaks the rules like when he comes out during the day out of necessity, it's a pretty big point in pre-flashpoint comics that people are less afraid of him seeing him in daytime. If you look at the Batman Year One comic, Batman Begins movie, or Batman Arkham Origins game, they do a pretty good job of showing you how fear shapes the myths people share about him as a supernatural creature, not even a metahuman just some primordial force of nature. In fact he doesn't even name himself Batman in the comics and in some more accurate adaptations, people just called him that from his looks and then he claimed the symbol because of the good it does.

Shazam/Captain Marvel is a really cool superhero concept, and since you guys commented on not knowing his origin I felt like it'd be cool to share it! Basically (this varies with the adaptation) Billy Batson is a 10 year old street kid who lost his parents and lives in Fawcett city. He's often portrayed as troubled and rough around the edges (from being orphaned, homeless, and in rocky foster situations), but is meant to have a pure/good heart, and looks after those who can't look after themselves. Sometimes he has a foster family (newer adaptations such as this movie) and sometimes he's literally just a kid living in an abandoned apartment with no-one looking after him but himself (this is objectively funnier because he just seems to... own the apartment?). He comes to be Captain Marvel after being selected by an ancient wizard named Shazam. Shazam kinda just yoinks this orphaned homeless ten year old (usually bc of his pure soul and all that) and proceeds to give him the powers of Solomon (Wisdom), Hercules (Strength), Atlas (Stamina), Zeus (Power), Achilles (Courage), and Mercury (Speed). Billy Batson becomes Captain Marvel, the champion of magic and dubbed Earth's mightiest mortal. Overall, he's such a fun concept to play around with in regards to the uniqueness of his situation, and I hope you'll learn to like him as much as I do!
19:48 She isn't from another planet. Themyscira is an island on earth that can shift its location over both land and time, staying hidden from the outside world.
So excited for this wormhole! I’ve grown up with DC animation so seeing you guys explore the DC universe warms my heart. Lots of great stuff out there. I’m sure it’s been mentioned before or was cut out of the reaction, but don’t forget to stay for an after credits scene. Lots of the DC Animated Movie Universe films have them.
Yo thanks to you guys im enjoying movies again. For a while ive been thinking movies have gone sorta stale in creation but you guys are making watching these fun again. Keep up all the good work
If you guys really want to be a big time Superman fan, you've GOT to watch "Superman vs the Elite." It, unfortunately, isn't part of this series, and it's one of the best animated DC projects out there.
To be honest, I would say the DCAU is a DC animated version of what Marvel Studios achieved with a MCU (exception of post endgame) when it comes to a series of movies, and you will be in for such a ride and treat if you watch them all in order if you can.
DC did it twice. These movies are the DCAMU (DC Animated Movie Universe), and the original DCAU (Batman, Superman, Static Shock, Batman Beyond, Justice League, Justice League Unlimited).
The funny thing is, apparently, they magicked Wonder Woman literally outta clay. Fully adult. There's a non-zero chance she WAS a child, in this movie.
new universe remember ? just cause Barry let his mom die doesnt mean he undid everything , it just means he set the similar timeline into motion. this one's different
1. In most cases, Ma and Pa Kent explain Clark's origins to him when he develops powers (as any good parent who adopted a baby from a spaceship would.). 2. Superman's story is similar in most iterations, though in some universes, as you've seen in Flashpoint, he sometimes lands in places that aren't Smalleville, Kanses. Like Soviet Russia for instance, or late 1930s Germany...
In pretty much every superman story, his parents send him to earth as a baby, he grows up as Clark until the powers kick in and his earth parents show him the pod he landed in. It has some crystal thing in it that, once he's more or less mastered his powers, he takes to a remote frozen wasteland, I don't know if it's north or south pole, and it creates his fortress of solitude. the Fortress has records that his Kryptonian dad left for him, teaching superman all about where he came from, what he can do and all sorts of other parenting wisdoms.
I wish I were there to explain but you guys but yes this iteration is “The New 52”, the flashpoint paradox WAS a rewrite of the dcu for this universe its imo the best animated version enjoy
Green Lantern is from Coast City (San Diego) Wonder Woman is from Gateway City (San Francisco) Superman is From Metropolis (New York City) Batman is from Gotham City (apparently also new York City...but in New Jersey) Flash Is from Central City (Kansas City, Missouri) Shazam is from Fawcett City (it changes, usually it's Minneapolis, Minnesota, but has also been described as being a suburb of Philadelphia, if not Philadelphia itself)
Facts this guys and most people aren't even comic book fans ,they only like MCU but the know nothing about these characters imagine not watching, Superman the animated series, justice league animated series and justice league unlimited, teen titans wonder woman 1989 😂😂😂, they only watch the trash DCEU movies
So Shazam (actual og captain marvel, you can guess why it was changed lol) is older than superman comic history wise. When DC acquired him there was a time and certain story lines where he is stronger than Superman specially after Superman was given a weakness to magic. To clarify Shazam is an acronym for the power of the gods he gets. Black Adam is similar. Also why in flashpoint the powers where split/shared instead of it being all under one person. SHAZAM (Captain Marvel, Billy Batson) - Solomon (wisdom) Hercules (strength) Atlas (stamina) Zeus (power) Achilles (courage) Mercury (speed) SHAZAM (Black Adam) - Shu (stamina) Heru (swiftness) Amon (strength) Zehuti (wisdom) Aton (power) Mehen (courage)
Yes, this movie is a reboot of DC Animated Universe. All movies in this era are connected and often reference events from previous movies. The entire phase is known as DC Animated Movie Universe, or DCAMU. Flashpoint Paradox is included and considered the first of the phase but it's kind of a missing link between the previous era of mostly standalone DCAU movies and DCAMU. Justice League War is the first that is fully part of this phase, while Justice League Dark: Apokoplips War is the last one. Then we move on to the next phase known as Tomorrowverse following the first movie of the phase: Superman: Man of Tomorrow. However, there's still 14 DCAMU movies left for you to watch so you guys will stick around in this phase for a good while!
Hopefully you read this for clarification: The DCAMU starts with Flashpoint Paradox, which like you guessed did reset the universe. In that movie, at the beginning and end of the film both Flash and Batman have slightly altered costumes, in which is a hint that things had been slightly altered. Justice League War is an origin story of how this Justice League formed in this universe and all the movies follow in more of a linear story line from this movie so it will feel more straight-forward. Also please stay till the end of credits. They DO HAVE POST CREDIT SCENES. And after you watch Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, you should also watch a little short called Nightwing and Robin in the same reaction because it leads towards the following movie.
If memory serves, Shazam is actually an acronym of the six gods that bestow power to Billy. Solomon Hermes (corrected when I looked up) Heracles A(had to look up) Atlas Zeus A(had to look up) Achilles M(had to look up) Mercury
The adventure time video I commented on reminded me I haven’t really watched that show except for a few episodes, and since i’m close to the modern spongebob episodes, which means i’d have to wait a week or more for each episode, i figured I’d start watching adventure time when i’m done with spongebob, and i’ll see your reactions while i’m watching the episodes
The Falshpoint, and other such events, are used by the writers as a way to clear the board and update their Heroes. Superman and Batman have both existed since like 1930s and much has changed since then. JL War is the next movie after Flashpoint movie and a new beginning of the Animated DCU. The board got cleared and now we got a new series.
_"I don't know what you are, or where you're from, but my instincts tell me you're to be trusted._ _Make no mistake though._ _I have a five million dollar shiver of radioactive space rock for the one from Metropolis._ _For you. I just need a penny for a book of matches."_
I recommend watching the show Smallville. It's an honestly amazing show about Superman's time growing into being Superman, from highschool to adulthood, and it even has comics continuing the story
Green Lantern is such a good character with so many potential builds from his ring, but the movies and cartoons like these nerf so damn much. The jumping he got in this one tho is funny as hell
Omg i love this movie. The whole idea if the justice league coming together in the middle of fighting a big threat is always awesome to me. No meetings or invitations they all just come together to save the world and decide they might as well make a team.
BTW Superman is so much more OP than you would even imagine or will ever see in movies and TV shows. He IS hope itself. He is the first brick upon which the foundation of the DC Multiverse is built and without him the multiverse collapses. He absolutely has toon force, from singing the embodiment of Evil to death to shooting mini Supermen out of his finger tips. Superman is always as strong as he needs to be.
So it can be hard to sum up Darkseid after all the adaptations and retcons that have happened but basically he is the king of a pantheon of evil space gods and one of DC's biggest bads. The thing about (any) GL's constructs, is that it's not JUST about their focus or "Will". It's also about what they UNDERSTAND about the construct they're making. You can't Will something into existence that you don't have some idea of how it works. What that also means...is that, no matter how powerful your Will, there's kind of an upper limit to the strength or resilience of any given construct. If you imagine a steam locomotive...sure it'll be crazy tough and powerful in most cases, but it's still only going to be about as tough and strong as the real-life steel that they're made of. Darkseid didn't smash the constructs because GL's Will was too weak...they got smashed because Darkseid can literally smash a fucking train in the first place. Had GL properly understood the properties of things like graphene, nanotubes, and fullerenes (carbon molecules of extreme strength and durability), he could've made an object that probably could survive at least one blow from Darkseid or Superman. If he filled it with an image of depleted uranium, it would hit pretty goddamned hard, too. A solid hunk of tungsten carbide would be useful too, especially with a lattice of graphene throughout. But yeah, GL's problem fighting Darkseid wasn't because he was weak-willed, or even "stupid" per se...just that his constructs are only as strong as the things he understands them to be. And Darkseid is simply strong enough to destroy most of those real-life things.
Technically Flashpoint Paradox is the first in this series, as a setup, but from there: Justice League: War Son of Batman Justice League: Throne of Atlantis Batman vs. Robin Batman: Bad Blood Justice League vs. Teen Titans Justice League Dark Teen Titans: The Judas Contract Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay The Death of Superman Constantine: City of Demons Reign of the Supermen Batman: Hush Wonder Woman: Bloodlines Justice League Dark: Apokolips War This is the order of release, and is more or less chronological order (for some there is no set timeline, but you won't go wrong by going by order of release)
So at the end of flashpoint Barry reset the timeline, but it didn’t go back to exactly the way things were. That final scene where he gives Bruce the letter is later in the timeline. This movie shows how the league forms in the new timeline.
DCUO actually lets everyone in the episodes/DLC for free now and they changed up the leveling system so that if you go into a lower level area your level will drop to equal out between other players. You will still have a slight edge over others if you have more skill points and items but other then that they have evened out the playing field for everyone. Personally I started playing in 2012 and I still love it. One of the main reasons I still play is the endless customizations for your character, base, and so on. I feel like an ad now, lol.
I used to be a ride or die Batman fangirl, but then we started getting tons of good Superman stuff in the last few years like, "My Adventures with Superman." I realized that Superman content that knows how to do Superman right is fantastic and I like Sups more than Bats now.
This movie came out around the new 52 reboot that DC did with the comics where it reset the stories and make the universe younger . Also included revamping of classic hero costumes .
The DC Animated Universe movies are actually based on the New 52 comics that ran during I think 2000 and 2010. This generation of comics was typically more grittier than some of the other generations, so the movies seem to take on that aspect. Can't wait for you to explore more about this universe and buckle up. The violence doesn't end here.
New 52 Superman’s parents were murdered by a multiversal monster when he was a teen, to try to corrupt Superman’s story. Thus he grows up a little tougher and harder without the Kent’s support and love.

To Clarify the Shazam thing, usually it is only Billy that transforms. The Flashpoint Shazam being all six kids was just unique to that universe

Before the comics and movies and cartoons started nerfing him, Green Lantern was basically a god.
Seriously, forget making planes and trains with his ring. They could create suns with those rings.
Like, actual honest to God suns!
He still scales there. Ion baby!
Well Hal Jordan was always an uncreative Lantern.
Bruce messing with Hal is easily one of my favorite parts. Batman is way too cool here
Bruce legit has no respect for the Green Lanterns
Hal kinda needed that reality check. Batman is just some guy in a bat costume? Hal is just some washed up pilot with an alien ring.
Batman even better in justice league dark.

Some context about the flash. Barry to hide his identity goes to the extreme and is intentionally late while out in civilian wear. I think he even says "I haven't seen the first 15 minutes of a movie for a decade" in the comics. So he really really commits to the bit to make sure no one thinks he is the flash.

Bule Lanterns are actually the most powerful lanterns in the universe because hope is the most powerful emotion in the universe. But they don’t always have that power, the need a green lantern, because to make hope, you need will to make it a reality.

Shazam was originally called Captain Marvel. Billy basically gain his powers from a Wizard.
It’s weird that Shazam wasn’t his original name because he’s says Shazam and does sound cooler. But maybe it was because the writers thought if he says Shazam then he would just change form.
@@AnvilPictures It has to do with Marvel having their own Captain Marvel and DC wanting to distinguish their character.
Because how can the fastest man on the planet be late.
that’s not actually true, he’s just always late, it’s just his personality and part of his character, he does NOT do it on purpose
No him being late is supposed to be an ironic gag he doesn’t do it on purpose
He is a literal god compared to Thanos
honestly thanos vs darkseid isnt even a debate, the only way thanos got a chance is with a full infinity gauntlet
@@RedShirtGuy96 What about Galactus?
@@Stan_man Still not a competition, Galactus exists within a universe scale and each universe may or may not have a Galactus whilst Darkseid exists above any one universe and is on the multiverse level with the only things above him being those above/outside of the multiverse like lucifer or the presence.

Achilles and Solomon are not Gods

" They are six legendary figures whose wisdom, strength, stamina, power, courage, and speed are combined to create the powerful superhero known as Shazam.
In this mythology, Solomon is known for his wisdom and knowledge, which is represented by the "S" in the acronym "SHAZAM." The other figures represented by the acronym are:
H: Hercules, who provides the strength of the hero
A: Atlas, who provides the hero with stamina and durability
Z: Zeus, who provides the hero with the power to wield lightning and other magical abilities
A: Achilles, who provides the hero with courage and invincibility
M: Mercury, who provides the hero with superhuman speed and agility"
Also hes name use to be Captain Marvel, but Marvel was not happy about DC having character name after that, so they made him Shazam instead.
Quick Rundown of Superhero Origins
Batman: Dead Parents -> Lots of Money -> Crime Fighter
Superman: Krypton boom and lands on Earth -> Raised by good farm folk and learns he's an alien later and becomes a hero
Wonder Woman: Daughter of Amazon Queen and Zeus, was made from clay and became a demigod
Green Lantern: Got his ring from a dying member of the Green Lantern Corps, got enlisted to take his place
Shazam: Kid meets wizard, Wizard gives him magic powers and bypassed puberty
Flash: Struck by lightning + got tossed into chemicals = Superspeed(?)
Cyborg: Gets severely hurt and gets Cyberpunk'd by his scientist dad.

No prep time in this one.
I mean yeah, without a direct Superman counter Batman gets destroyed by Superman every time and I say this as a hard core Batman lover.

*Darkseid is*
I feel like this is what the DCEU Justic League wanted to be, an epic joining of Forces between a bunch of heroes against the forces of evil.

We know, we’re already half way done on patreon
@SortaStupid you guys should also react to Justice League Gods and Monsters if you haven't already. Its an elseworlds type story in that things actually happen significantly different than in most JL stories. It is also a very unique take on the Justice League and the reality its set in.

You guys gotta watch the new Superman show if want to watch anything else with Superman. That's My Adventures with Superman.
Superman himself actually deemed Shazam his direct equal, he is that Powerful, it's just that he is still a kid.
Funny you mention security around December earth time, Darkseid turns security to maximun and Santa still gets thru and leaves him a piece of coal 😭🤣
WAR BILLY!!!
WAR BILLY!
16:00 "Doomed Planet. Lone Survivor. Kindly Couple. *Super Man."*
Fun fact omega eams have the power to erase people from existence the same the Superman got hit with meaning superman is immue to existence erasure
I feel it’s more like his insane durability helps him not get deleted like that rather than being straight up immune to it.
(At 18:44) Dr. Thomas O. Marrow is both Red Tornado's creator AND father.
Yes!! Thank you yall watching the DCAU movies, I really can’t wait to see them react to all of them
The DCAU genuinely was some of the better comic book content I watched when it was coming out. Happy you guys are covering it.
Green Lantern is from Coast City (San Diego)
Wonder Woman is from Gateway City (San Francisco)
Superman is From Metropolis (New York City)
Batman is from Gotham City (apparently also new York City...but in New Jersey)
Flash Is from Central City (Kansas City, Missouri)
Shazam is from Fawcett City (it changes, usually it's Minneapolis, Minnesota, but has also been described as being a suburb of Philadelphia, if not Philadelphia itself)
11:35 and I thought the Martha Joker reaction couldn’t be topped.
The funiest thing is that they are watching stuff believing its the same continuity, its hillarious that they are missing 90% of the context of DC
SHAZAM (Captain Marvel, Billy Batson) - Solomon (wisdom) Hercules (strength) Atlas (stamina) Zeus (power) Achilles (courage) Mercury (speed)
SHAZAM (Black Adam) - Shu (stamina) Heru (swiftness) Amon (strength) Zehuti (wisdom) Aton (power) Mehen (courage)
First Star Wars and now DC. You guys are going down some of the most extensive lore rabbit holes of all time. But we got you.
Hopefully you read this for clarification:
The DCAMU starts with Flashpoint Paradox, which like you guessed did reset the universe.
Also wonder woman was flying in the flash movie that's how she chocked the dude with the white hair with her rope.
If memory serves, Shazam is actually an acronym of the six gods that bestow power to Billy.
Solomon
Hermes (corrected when I looked up) Heracles
A(had to look up) Atlas
Zeus
A(had to look up) Achilles
M(had to look up) Mercury
Hermes is not part of this list he's just Greek Mercury afterall

in the versions of victor being shown really hurt before becoming cyborg this is one of the more tame versions of it.

11:30 I love how they're just speechless. No comment, just shocked faces.
I recommend watching the show Smallville. It's an honestly amazing show about Superman's time growing into being Superman, from highschool to adulthood, and it even has comics continuing the story
This Superman is based on the New 52, don't expect him to act like Superman, he starts acting more like Superman in the following movies
Green Lantern is such a good character with so many potential builds from his ring, but the movies and cartoons like these nerf so damn much. The jumping he got in this one tho is funny as hell
@@exknight39 I agree, such a shame. But yes, that was funny
Omg i love this movie. The whole idea if the justice league coming together in the middle of fighting a big threat is always awesome to me. No meetings or invitations they all just come together to save the world and decide they might as well make a team.
While Wonder Woman is very "fish out of water" in this movie she doesn't stay this way.
6:15 in a lot of Superman stories the ship he came to earth in has some kind of database to teach him the basics of kryptonian stuff
Also I'm glad you looked up the wikipedia page to keep track of the animated movies' timeline, but I hope you still check out some oneshots like Superman vs The Elite, Justice League New Frontier, and Assault on Arkham.

The Green Lanterns are the types of characters that could literally solve any and every problem in seconds if the plot allowed them.
Be the way, you guys HAVE to watch the Green Lantern animated.
Long Halloween is part of Tomorrowverse which is the continuation of this universe (DCAMU), and there is DC Showcases and only some of them are canon to Tomorrowverse and DCAMU.
While the Long Halloween two parter is technically part of the Tomorrowverse, it very much stands on its own.
Technically Flashpoint Paradox is the first in this series, as a setup, but from there:
Justice League: War
Son of Batman
Justice League: Throne of Atlantis
Batman vs. Robin
Batman: Bad Blood
Justice League vs. Teen Titans
Justice League Dark
Teen Titans: The Judas Contract
Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay
The Death of Superman
Constantine: City of Demons
Reign of the Supermen
Batman: Hush
Wonder Woman: Bloodlines
Justice League Dark: Apokolips War
This is the order of release, and is more or less chronological order (for some there is no set timeline, but you won't go wrong by going by order of release)
I’m sure it’s been said but this is the start of a whole continuity of films. I recomend y’all look up a list for this series!
Bro knows the most random shit like T.O. Morrow but not anything else XD
I used to be a ride or die Batman fangirl, but then we started getting tons of good Superman stuff in the last few years like, "My Adventures with Superman." I realized that Superman content that knows how to do Superman right is fantastic and I like Sups more than Bats now.
The Snyder Cut of Justice League was incredible and I highly recommend watching that, but its 4 hours long.
When Barry fixed the Flashpoint Paradox it reset the universe so things are different. It’s a reboot.
