I love to bring my knitting to your little book club like we are having a little sit and knit book discussion. I keep a list of books you mention that spark my interest. Thanks for such relaxing and stress free fun!🎉
Thank you soooo much for doing these book talks! You guys are naturals and my reading list is a mile long from your recommendations! So refreshing and a blast to watch! ❤️❤️❤️
Great fun ❤ Lovely edition of the book. I have to stop myself buying books with sprayed edges. I want them all - even the ones not in my genres. It's a problem!
Interesting and fun thoughts! Hiccup! I’ll check those books out. Great Duffy mention! I bought the entire Man From Atlantis series on Prime. Such a great TV show. Cheers 📚📚📚📚📚📚👍🏻
Loved this installment of Wine Time Reviews!! Tayler - this was your first Bardugo?!? I highly recommend her Grishaverse books and Ninth House. Based on other books you’ve shared here on the channel, I think you’d like them!
Thank you Rebecca! And yes! My first Bardugo. And from what I hear, her others are great. I’m thinking I may give Ninth House a try for spooky season. ☺️
Didn't expect Tayler to come for my beloved Leigh Bardugo and my beloved Twilight in one video, back to back! 😅 but still appreciate the honesty. I recently bought The Familiar bc she's an auto-buy author for me, so I never really know what I'm getting into until I pick up the book - happy to see her exploring honestly! And would absolutely die to have you two read/review Twilight...! 😂 If you haven't already that is - it's something everyone should experience at least once in their lives.
Oh I enjoyed Twilight! I just feel like that imprinting system was the best explanation for a familiar. lol. And Leigh Bardugo is lovely and I enjoyed the book. I can totally see how she’s an auto buy for you. I plan on reading more of her come spooky season.
Hi guys. This was fun! My granddaughter recently bought me 3 books and I’m on number 3 now, which I think is called My Brilliant Friend. Just started it. The previous one I just finished was Remarkably Bright Creatures, which I honestly didn’t think I’d like and I really did! So very different from what I usually read. What? You’ve never watched Dallas??? You two are definitely young, lol. Best show of the 70’s bad 80’s. Such fond memories. Not the deepest of shows. More like a nighttime soap, lol. But everyone around the world was waiting with bated breath to find out Who Shot Jr!!😂😂. Thanks for a fun half hour.😊
Hi Thea! Thank you so much for watching! I’ve been intrigued by Remarkably Bright Creatures but have been hesitant because I just don’t know if it’s something I’d be into (this is Tayler, by the way) but after what you say here, maybe I need to give it a try. And I remember my parents watching Dallas a lot. I was born in 84 and Branden in 85 so it may be a bit before our time, but I do know how much my folks loved it. ❤️🤠
@@GoodBooksLately I’d say definitely give it a try. So not what I would normally read but I got into it and was really impressed by the story. Definitely different. I may read The Old Man and the Sea. I usually have a few books going at once and I’m trying to read the classics. I’m reading Jane Eyre and the Poldark Series right now along with My Brilliant Friend. It’s like with knitting and crochet. Sometimes I feel like one and then the other. Depends on my mood. But since my husband died in March everything is a struggle. I know I’ll get there and your videos are a big help. Can’t wait for tonight’s Mid Week Ramble!❤️
Loved The Sisters Brothers! Branden should listen to The Thicket by Joe R Lansdale on audiobook. More dustbowl era but still an adventure with a Western vibe.
You guys are so much fun to watch! Thank you for sharing your reviews. I'm always fascinated with how people use the 5-star rating system. Tayler, when you said 3.5 stars, I thought you must not have liked The Familiar. I'm glad to hear you did enjoy it. Branden, it is so generous to start everything off with 5 stars. I rate almost everything four stars. If something is less than a 3-star, I almost always DNF it. A 5-star book changes me. Do you both plan to do a top-ten list at the end of the year?
So glad you’re enjoying this Julie! And I honestly think I need to bump up my rating for The Familiar. It’s definitely a 4-star for me. And I’m like you. If something is 3 stars, I most likely am not finishing it. And yes. We’re totally doing a top ten! ❤️❤️
Love this podcast! I’m in awe - how do you read so much, with two children and FFTP? Branden - thanks for recommending The River of Doubt - I would never had picked that one up before you suggested it, but I’m really enjoying it. My recommendation for you: Check out the books by Rinker Buck (Oregon Trail and Life on the Mississippi).
Hi Susan! Whenever folks ask how I’ve managed to read so often, my best answer is that I wake up at 5 each morning and read for about an hour and a half (and knit along with that sometimes) before the kids get up. And then I read during down times in the day. I feel like when you take stock of how much time during the day we spend watching tv (in our case, TH-cam-we’re not big tv watchers) you realize how much reading time you actually have. 😅 But, I will say, the biggest thing is having those extra hours in the morning. If I didn’t have that, it would be hard.
For Leigh Bardugo, give Six of Crows a try. I loved the world and characters - a found family heist adventure 😊. Ooh! Maybe it could be one you guys read together?! I’d be curious about each of your opinions on it! And - this was a fun time! You guys and wine are extra silly 😊
They drank brandy because brandy is basically distilled wine and can be done quite quickly (making it more available) as opposed to whiskey,a spirit that is aged for many years, at least five, and a spirit that was used as currency and for bartering.
If you are looking for a super fun quick read, I really recommend "Just Stab Me Now" by Jill Bearup based on her TH-cam Shorts series. It's a combination of romance, fantasy, and comedy with being super meta at the same time.
Please give Leigh Bardugo more chances. Her (2 book) series "Ninth House" followed by "Hell Bent", as well as (another 2 book series) "Kind of Scars" and "Rule of Wolves". Also look at "Fourth Wing" (first of three books) by Rebecca Yarros. Other books :: "Nettle & Bone" by T. Kingfisher, "The Bear and the Nightingale" (book 1 of a trilogy) by Katherine Arden.

I tried to read Sister Brothers but didn't get past page 20. Listening to your review makes me think I should get it for my husband to read. Maybe I didn't give it a chance. I agree about the style of the authors photo. Geez. Selfie, could be more professional or more campy. It appears cute and sexy instead of bright and beautiful.
Come for the books, stay for the wine time. 🍷☺
This is the highest compliment I can give: Good Books Lately is the only channel I watch at regular/not 2x speed.
Thanks. Glad we have that on all the other in your TH-cam viewing.
Love your channel. So simple, so refreshing and so good
Thank you so much!❤️

Our pleasure Judith! We’re so glad you’re enjoying this and taking away some reading inspiration. ❤️❤️
Dallas was a GREAT show.
You guys are straight forward in your reviews; much needed. Also fun with the wine!
Thank you. We are having fun. ❤️

Awesome! Thank you! ❤️
Been loving all your bookish videos! And you could totally use a D20 dice to help you pick out questions!
Thank you Tracy! And it’s funny because before we started filming, I was like, “can we use like three dice?” 🤦♀️🤣
This is a brilliant freaking idea! Love these chats… just the right depth of information!
So glad you enjoy it! Thanks for watching! ❤️
Patrick Duffy was also The Man from Atlantis. Great reviews.
That’s right!!! 🧜♂️
Awesome show! Alan Fudge!
How much wine did you have before recording the video? 🍷😂You two are a hoot!
A lady never tells. 😉
Just what i needed. This is great. 🍷🍷

I really recommend the island by Adrian Mckinty (sp)
Love the laughs. I just listened to the part about the pomegranate today and thought he loves her❤😊
Thank you Maggie! Glad you enjoyed this and are enjoying The Familiar. I think the pomegranate part is a big turning point for them. ❤️

Did you ever read Mexican Gothic Tayler? I’m dying to know your thoughts on THAT book.😂
I have not yet! I’m thinking it’s one of my August reads. 😊😊
