BIKERS BE HEARD! DENALI HORN UPGRADE FOR BMW R1250GS

- I blast the louder Denali Sound Bomb Mini motorcycle horn through a tunnel & compare it to the standard manufacturers horn which to me is inadequate for us motorcyclists.
I show simple fitting instructions & give the standard BMW horn sound & Denali horn blast on a sound meter app.
The high pitch tone of a moped sounding 'beep beep' disc type horn is replaced with a distinctive low tone 113 decibel grunt you would associate with bigger vehicles. This Denali horn measured 71 decibels on my phone app but claims 113 decibels, it has that distinctive low tone grunt beep which will be picked up better by other road users!

You have to take the OEM bracket out and bend some curves to the Denali bracket and positioning it in the arch where the OEM horn was. So as You did it, it is disturbing the free flow of the air of the right cooler.
Interesting, thanks for that bit of advice although I've not had any overheating issues as such since I swapped the standard horn fof the mini sound bomb.
The front of the GS in particularly under the headlight does get sufficient air flow anyway so I doubt it would be effected?
Try pointing the trumpet end of the horn down towards the ground. Should improve low frequency sound and keep moisture and debris out.
Thats a good tip thanks I'll try that Skow
The horn on the new 1250RT is impressive.
thats good news Mathew, hope bmw have done the same with the GS to save owners upgrading the horn with an after market product.
Very cool
Yeah the 'Graffiti Art' tunnel in Peterborough, England is a popular backshot for bike shots 👍
Thank you very much for the video and the explanation.
Absolutely no problem Albert, if its helped 1 person then it was worth doing 👍
Nice vid buddy, about to do the same shortly. Does it matter which spade connects to which blade on the horn side? Cheers
Hi Keith, I've just spent half an hour trying to find the fitting instructions but to no avail. It was a while ago when I fitted it I think as I never mentioned which blade went into which horn side then it didn't matter otherwise looking back I think I would have definitely mentioned that. So off the record so to speak I'd say it doesn't matter but please check the instructions you have. Oh someone mentioned to me the horn is more effective if it's pointing downwards? Either way it's a definite upgrade!
@@DazmatronMotorcycleTrips Thanks for the reply matey, much appreciated !
Just found out, you can connect either spade and blade and it wont matter at all ! Result😀
@@keithyboy123 Excellent, thanks Keith! Enjoy you're new horn!
Hi! Where did you get that connector? Thanks!
Hi Ausejo, I got it from motorcycle online accessories called 'Nippy Normans'. If u type in Denali sound bomb mini once you are on the website the part will come up. If you scroll towards the bottom you will see the different connectors. Hope that helps 👍
