NOt a great test. Too short of "honks" for one, secondly better test outside, and thirdly, running the bike . I put my new Soundbomb mini on this weekend, and it's WAY louder. Almost too loud as I was testing it and 2 neighbors ran out, thinking the trash collector truck was honking to have residents move their cars in the way of the bins. It's DEF much louder and will work very well here in this city of 4M people and the worst traffic in America.
These are usually a direct replacement for the stock horn, and are much louder. I've been using Stebel Magnums / Denali Sounbomb Mini (they're the same) on my bikes for nearly 20 years. Make sure it's pointing down when you fit it, as they don't work well if they get rain inside.
Thanks for the video! Been looking to get a different for my bike I recently bought. Just some extra trivia, higher pitch/frequency sounds don’t travel as far as lower pitch/frequency sound so yea from further away or say inside a car the Denali horn should be more easily herd and from further away……
Not sure of the price of a Deneli Mini but our auto parts stores in North America carry similar horns made by Fiamm. I noticed the horn you tested is a Low (an "L" on the horn). On each of my last three bikes I've installed a set of Fiamms, 1 Low and 1 High. You need to use a relay but it's not a difficult job. You end up with a 130 db, two tone horn, that is very commanding.
I hate making spelling mistakes! DENALI. Bosch also makes trumpet horns, low and high. Same shape as the Denali Mini and the Fiamms. Finding a place to mount them is well worth the increase in volume.
Very interesting! I didn't realise this. The slightly bigger versions of these horns are dual tone and require the relay so assume that's what that is. Thank you for letting me know
@@SamVBikes You're welcome, Sam. My first BMW, bought in 1977, came with dual Fiamms. Before that all we had were those pancake meep meep horns. I bought a new BMW three years ago. Pancake horn. One of the first things I did was add the dual Fiamms. They really let dummies know you're there. Between the two BMWs I had a couple of nice pocket rockets, sport bikes. I put the Fiamms on those as well.
It gives you so much more confidence doesn't it, just knowing something is there that is that loud and can definitely be heard! Now.. I just need to come up with an idea that will get guys like us to buy it for years and year haha
In the fuse box for the bike, it should have a label for the horn fuse. If not, look in your manual/handbook, you can see which fuse is for the horn etc
Nice review especially the part where you didn’t turn the bike of saves me blowing a fuse 😂 have just got the same horn as the horn on the African twin I just got sounds like a toy 🙄 ride safe both of you 👍🏻😁
I’m just trying to decide between a Stebel Nautilus or a Denali Sound Bomb (full sizer). Thanks for making and uploading👍. Always curious why a bloke your age would measure off in non metric🤔
Here you go bud. th-cam.com/video/u3-q9oesaXI/w-d-xo.html Quick run down of the set up alongside the lights. I also test it while going through the lights features. Chapter's along the too if you want to skip through
Great! I believe the one up from this is a twin sound horn, with compressor type canister so its quite a bit louder (think truck horn). However, that needs an additional wiring loom for most bikes which made it nearly 3 times the price of this when I was looking for one! You also have to find somewhere to bury the compressor part which comes with it. All a bit of a faff for me when this one is more than loud enough! Hope that helps!
You know why it sounds louder to you and not your phone? Because phone mics and apps are absolutely garbage. Only good for measuring similar sounds. Different pitch sounds may fall around peaks or dips in the $2 half concealed microphone hole in your phone.

I like your video Sam, real, straight to the point and great!
Thank you 💪🏼

I blew my fuse too, didn't realized that's why it wasn't working until this video lol
Haha! It really confused me at first.. the horn just made a squeak then nothing!
Where you can find the fuse ? In triumph scrambler for horn same issue

Another Stella video love it!
5:58 start the bike and do it

Haha! I make the sacrifice so you don't have to! The stock horns are naff aren't they! Ride safe and merry Christmas

No problem! Hopefully it helps! Haha Yeah I get you, might be because my dad is over 60 and he's taught me most of the things I know!
@@SamVBikes Good answer! I’m 60 but eventually even I had to give in to metric in the end - ride safe 👍
Haha! As long as you don't forget which system you used for the measurements! You too and thanks for watching!
Good info. Just subscribed also.
Thank you!
Shoudn't the open part of the horn be facing the front?
Directions state it should be aimed at the ground for maximum sound reverb
Sam have you fitted Denali soundbomb to your super adventure s I would love to see it but cannot find. Thanks hopefully for your help.
Yes I have bud. I fitted it when I fitted my Denali S4 light pods and Hex EzCan. Video more recently on the channel, I believe it was in part 2!
Here you go bud.

Helpful video. How does it compare (do you know) with the next horn up?
Great!

I'm skipping this and putting a train horn on my bike... because I can 😂
Hahaha! Really scare those cars not paying attention 😂
@@SamVBikes now All I need is that chugga-chugga sound from my engine...then I could really confuse them 🤣
😂😂
I just put the Denali Soundbomb on my bike last week. Wow! It sounds like a train!
Have you fitted this horn to your KTM 1290 SAS?
Yes! I did it while fitting my Hex EzCan and Denali lights. (In a more recent vid)
I see that you didn't increase the wire size to compensate for the higher ampere draw of a larger horn. That might have helped with the loudness.
THAT SUX - my big Vulcan cruiser has a custom 140 dc.horn, you crap your pants when you hear it!
It have the same sound power. It hace no interest. 90 dB
You know why it sounds louder to you and not your phone?
Because phone mics and apps are absolutely garbage. Only good for measuring similar sounds. Different pitch sounds may fall around peaks or dips in the $2 half concealed microphone hole in your phone.
It was worth trying but you're right, the mics are rubbish
Bolt, it's a bolt not a screw.
Sorry that annoyed you
Looks like a screw to me. A bolt is only threaded at the end a screw is threaded all the way to the head.
Haha! I forgot about this comment. Had a good laugh again. Appreciate the back up Dave 🙌🏼
