Delayed attacks are so difficult to dodge without plenty of practice. That’s probably what makes this boss so tough, combined with minimal attack windows
@@falconer-ts8fq Exactly it’s a nightmare. Playing with summons isn’t fun or interesting, and playing without them can get downright ridiculous because the game expects you to use them. I think it compromised their identity by trying to lower the skill floor and losing what it is that made prior bosses great. Nameless king was awesome in DS3, but that doesn’t mean I want every single boss to be a Nameless King!

Using mimic tear in Elden ring is straight up easy mode, given the fact how broken it is, even without spirit tuning, but if you dont use summons, you are in for a world of pain and there’s no inbetween. I guess From tried to make this Game not necessary easy, but rather accessible for the mainstream audience. They’ve declared in interviews numerous times that they will never make easy games, because this goes against their identity (sorta how Coca cola would stop making coke)
@@falconer-ts8fq Yeah I wish that were the case but I think they’ve compromised their philosophy by allowing easily accessible summons. They wanted to lower the skill floor with summons, but then when they realized that it trivializes the game they had to crank the difficulty way up to compensate for it, this is not why I play their games. I would rather play a game like DS3 or Sekiro with a consistent difficulty curve that never really feels overwhelming and is enjoyable to play solo, than have every boss a mixture of nameless king and sister friede and the way they want you to compensate for it is summon a friend. Their philosophy is they want to bring everyone to the same playing field, and get the sense of accomplishment, but they compromised this and now the community is more divided than ever. My favorite game is Sekiro where everything is very well balanced although quite difficult for newcomers, but once you learn it then it’s fair and really fun to play and you have no option to summon so everyone gets the sense of accomplishment and is brought to the same level. They succeeded in bringing in tons of new fans which is great but ER just isn’t my favorite game and could’ve been better in my opinion, but it’s still a good game.
FUN FACT: We get to use the Nameless King's sword in Elden Ring when given it when we enter the Rykard fight. Thereas why we use the storm ability and the design is similar.
@@tobydapunk I don’t think it’s the same exact weapon. If you look at the Serpent Hunter Spear, it has two openings near the base of the blade. It also has a flat pommel, compared to the Nameless King’s spear which has a round one. I think they’re the same type of weapon, but they’re absolutely different. I can see why you would think they’re the same though, because they have an incredibly similar design.

Took me a second and then i realized oooh it works cuz it’s LIGHTning!! U have to see lighting for it to affect u. Not sure if that was the intent but i like it to think it was intentional and thought out lol.
Just beat the Nameless King after watching your video. I was able to consistently get past the first phase and get him down to half health in the second, but the lightning attacks I wasnt seeing enough to figure out how to handle them. After watching the video I was able to tighten up how I was dodging and handling the second phase overrall and the lightning was no longer an issue. Thank you 💯

Wow, people weren't kidding, this boss was indeed difficult. I went "backwards" within the Soulsborne series (I started last year with BB, then ER, Sekiro and the trilogy... only Demon Souls left), and this guy was hyped so much. Well, the Orphan of Kos and Malenia were still harder for me, but this guy definitely met the "one of the hardest bosses" expectations I had. Anyway, thanks for these tips, man! I actually struggled the most with that stupid dragon (I tried staying underneath it like in Elden Ring, but doing so triggers its fire-breathing attacks), but your advice to just stay in front of it was a game changer. Funnily, the Nameless King himself wasn't as hard, but that's probably because by now, I'm used to the "slow boss attacks" that the Soulsborne games are known for. Still took me 7 tries, lol, but then again, Orphan and Malenia took me 50+ each.... Nice video! You got yourself a new subscriber!

Great video man this helped me beat Nameless King in around 5-6 attempts. When you don’t know his timing he’s the hardest boss in the game, but once you start to learn his timing and can dodge accordingly then he’s not nearly as bad

I got here tonight, and after dying 10 times for getting underneath its body, I finally beat it w/ 0 Estus left I went in against the Nameless King and that fight lasted 12 whole seconds. I’m trying this tutorial tomorrow! Thanks brother!
With these more difficult bosses, it usually involves few dozen tries after i beat the boss with only few estus used. Yesterday i fought against the Demons + Demon prince and after swinging around with 800 AR (w/ Lothric Greatsword) and dying every time slightly after the transformation to the Prince form. I swapped the weapon to Black Knight Greatsword and dealt with the demons in one try. Just a fun reminder that finding the correct weapon for a certain type of enemy might give the needed edge to finish the job.

Bro... You saved my playthrough! I literally tried this boss over 70 times and always failed! After memorizing the timing you suggested, I beat him in 3 tries! They made his attack animations trigger your defensive roll reaction, but the timing is SO delayed! It felt wrong, like I should be dodging earlier, but your timing (0.5, 2, 3 seconds) saved my sanity! You earned a subscriber.

I must thank you. I ended up following your guide, especially with regards the to the timing of his various delayed attacks, which you were spot on. I spent time getting the dodges down and then started poking him with fugs infused with magic. I felt I got more damage with magic vs dark. Anyway, what a fantastic boss and most rewarding one. Only a Dark Souls game can deliver that rush when beating a boss you've spent DAYS on. Mucho gusto!! 💪
You are goated bro, I lost this fight like 30 times because of the second phase just wasn't hitting the rolls right and kept on getting slammed by lightning attacks and after I watched your video I went in and on the second attempt I was reading the boss moves like I was in the matrix because you gave the timing for the moves I was literally counting all of his moves going like 1-2 dodge and then he went up in the air and dodged to my left he stopped I counted to 1 and dodged staggered him and it was ggs thanks man.

I just got to this boss last night after 3 or 4 hours of playing. I died to him 6 times. Half without getting him off the wyvern and the rest within 10-20 seconds of fighting one-on-one. He is hard and I asked on the reddit the number one piece of advice and everyone agreed to learn to delay your rolls. So thank you so much for the detailed delay timing. I haven't gone back into the game to fight him yet but will later today. Hopefully this video will be the key to me winning at some point. I know it will. And before anyone says anything, I understand dying 6 times isn't shit in these games. But considering the only other boss that took me more than 2 attempts was the Boreal Valley Dancer it does go to show that this guy is no joke in my book.

Yeah this boss is easily one of the worst I’ve ever had the displeasure of fighting. Shitty camera completely ruins the fight when your wrestling with the damn camera instead of trying to actually fight the boss. Plus his shitty tells when the dragon launches up and auto locks to shoot fire wherever you stand.
the lockon distance is atrocious in ds3 for non boss fights but magically u gain lock on distance for boss fights, the staggered multiple stabs from him in the 2nd are the hardest to dodge for me, solid vid. also didnt even know the hold down dpad option all this time after multiple playthroughs l0l

just use black bow of pharis +10 or more upgraded and if you have eagle ring to extend range attack weapons distance and shoot from front to the bird head always make distance from them as the king can hit you also suplementary possible to at beginning of combat throw poison knives to poison it (only bird) then do the bow attack as mentioned.

i also found out majority of the time after the bird flips around you and you dodge the guys attack and can hit the bird it will most of the time follow it up with the fire attack that he curves his neck for

Black Knight Greatsword can be gotten by as early as the Abyss Watchers and always does Dark Damage, so no resin need for strength builds. Still hell to fight this guy though.
I did it with knights crossbow with lightning arrows for the pet and Arablast with heavy arrow for the Nameless King,don't forget that ammonite looking great shield,the one which absorbs lightning and looks the coolest.

Beat him today, less than 20 attempts, hardest ds3 boss so far for me. Still haven’t reached final boss or dlc yet. So satisfying to watch the guide after beating the boss. Wish I knew about the lightning ring before the fight. Also I have not been using any pine resin the whole game. I need to experiment more 😂
took me few tries but good the kill, the tips about the dodging made the real difference, also i sued vordt hammer +5, got two staggers with on the nameless king and thats what took him down
this does help how ever my weapon does so abysmally little damage to it that its gonna take an hour to whittle down its health so Im bound to take damage sooner or later just because my brain gets so bored of doing the same task for so long

the grass crest shield and cloranthy ring do not stack for stamina regen, so if you have the shield on your back your better off using Lloyd's sword ring or something else that will boost your attack.
The Nameless King is just like that kid you used to play pretend swords with and they'd miss but swear they hit you so you have to go with it just to keep playing 🤦♂️
Another tip is when fighting the nameless king don’t lock on at all so that way you won’t feel a certain restraint when trying to roll and just walk around him each attacks.
I'm trying to get him on NG+ rn, some of his attacks can take away almost all of my health so yeah. The King of the storm is really for right now though so it's mainly the nameless king himself, good video though.
@@Azzavhar I clutched him with no estus left and the last bit of my health, the lothric knight shield is very helpful tho since it's insane lightning absorption.

Took me a second and then i realized oooh it works cuz it’s LIGHTning!! U have to see lighting for it to affect u. Not sure if that was the intent but i like it to think it was intentional and thought out lol.
Just beat the Nameless King after watching your video. I was able to consistently get past the first phase and get him down to half health in the second, but the lightning attacks I wasnt seeing enough to figure out how to handle them. After watching the video I was able to tighten up how I was dodging and handling the second phase overrall and the lightning was no longer an issue. Thank you 💯

Wow, people weren't kidding, this boss was indeed difficult. I went "backwards" within the Soulsborne series (I started last year with BB, then ER, Sekiro and the trilogy... only Demon Souls left), and this guy was hyped so much. Well, the Orphan of Kos and Malenia were still harder for me, but this guy definitely met the "one of the hardest bosses" expectations I had.
Anyway, thanks for these tips, man! I actually struggled the most with that stupid dragon (I tried staying underneath it like in Elden Ring, but doing so triggers its fire-breathing attacks), but your advice to just stay in front of it was a game changer. Funnily, the Nameless King himself wasn't as hard, but that's probably because by now, I'm used to the "slow boss attacks" that the Soulsborne games are known for. Still took me 7 tries, lol, but then again, Orphan and Malenia took me 50+ each....

Great video man this helped me beat Nameless King in around 5-6 attempts. When you don’t know his timing he’s the hardest boss in the game, but once you start to learn his timing and can dodge accordingly then he’s not nearly as bad

I got here tonight, and after dying 10 times for getting underneath its body, I finally beat it w/ 0 Estus left I went in against the Nameless King and that fight lasted 12 whole seconds.

With these more difficult bosses, it usually involves few dozen tries after i beat the boss with only few estus used. Yesterday i fought against the Demons + Demon prince and after swinging around with 800 AR (w/ Lothric Greatsword) and dying every time slightly after the transformation to the Prince form. I swapped the weapon to Black Knight Greatsword and dealt with the demons in one try.
Just a fun reminder that finding the correct weapon for a certain type of enemy might give the needed edge to finish the job.

Bro... You saved my playthrough! I literally tried this boss over 70 times and always failed! After memorizing the timing you suggested, I beat him in 3 tries! They made his attack animations trigger your defensive roll reaction, but the timing is SO delayed! It felt wrong, like I should be dodging earlier, but your timing (0.5, 2, 3 seconds) saved my sanity! You earned a subscriber.

I must thank you. I ended up following your guide, especially with regards the to the timing of his various delayed attacks, which you were spot on. I spent time getting the dodges down and then started poking him with fugs infused with magic. I felt I got more damage with magic vs dark. Anyway, what a fantastic boss and most rewarding one. Only a Dark Souls game can deliver that rush when beating a boss you've spent DAYS on. Mucho gusto!! 💪

You are goated bro, I lost this fight like 30 times because of the second phase just wasn't hitting the rolls right and kept on getting slammed by lightning attacks and after I watched your video I went in and on the second attempt I was reading the boss moves like I was in the matrix because you gave the timing for the moves I was literally counting all of his moves going like 1-2 dodge and then he went up in the air and dodged to my left he stopped I counted to 1 and dodged staggered him and it was ggs thanks man.

I just got to this boss last night after 3 or 4 hours of playing. I died to him 6 times. Half without getting him off the wyvern and the rest within 10-20 seconds of fighting one-on-one. He is hard and I asked on the reddit the number one piece of advice and everyone agreed to learn to delay your rolls. So thank you so much for the detailed delay timing. I haven't gone back into the game to fight him yet but will later today. Hopefully this video will be the key to me winning at some point. I know it will.
And before anyone says anything, I understand dying 6 times isn't shit in these games. But considering the only other boss that took me more than 2 attempts was the Boreal Valley Dancer it does go to show that this guy is no joke in my book.

Best way to deal with the dragon is with the dragonslayer greataxe +5 thunder attack then switch to the washing pole +10 and use carthus rouge

Yeah this boss is easily one of the worst I’ve ever had the displeasure of fighting. Shitty camera completely ruins the fight when your wrestling with the damn camera instead of trying to actually fight the boss. Plus his shitty tells when the dragon launches up and auto locks to shoot fire wherever you stand.

the lockon distance is atrocious in ds3 for non boss fights but magically u gain lock on distance for boss fights, the staggered multiple stabs from him in the 2nd are the hardest to dodge for me, solid vid. also didnt even know the hold down dpad option all this time after multiple playthroughs l0l

just use black bow of pharis +10 or more upgraded and if you have eagle ring to extend range attack weapons distance and shoot from front to the bird head always make distance from them as the king can hit you also suplementary possible to at beginning of combat throw poison knives to poison it (only bird) then do the bow attack as mentioned.

i also found out majority of the time after the bird flips around you and you dodge the guys attack and can hit the bird it will most of the time follow it up with the fire attack that he curves his neck for

Black Knight Greatsword can be gotten by as early as the Abyss Watchers and always does Dark Damage, so no resin need for strength builds. Still hell to fight this guy though.

I did it with knights crossbow with lightning arrows for the pet and Arablast with heavy arrow for the Nameless King,don't forget that ammonite looking great shield,the one which absorbs lightning and looks the coolest.

Beat him today, less than 20 attempts, hardest ds3 boss so far for me. Still haven’t reached final boss or dlc yet. So satisfying to watch the guide after beating the boss. the grass crest shield and cloranthy ring do not stack for stamina regen, so if you have the shield on your back your better off using Lloyd's sword ring or something else that will boost your attack.

Another tip is when fighting the nameless king don’t lock on at all so that way you won’t feel a certain restraint when trying to roll and just walk around him each attacks.
