He doesn’t like dragon fights? Wait till he sees Midir
I struggled so much with Midir. I caved and summoned someone to help me with him. I never truly beat midir tho
Midir felt like a Monster Hunter fight which is why he was so damn good.
The advice will work amazing for him. The advice thanos gave : always go for the head
I find Midir harder than Nameless king. These two are the only hard boss for me in DS3. The rest are a fun boss but not that hard.
To be fair midir is the first time they got the dragon bosses right
"Am I underleveled?" The main sentence in this series.
xD so true
I just came back to DS3 after a month long break and realized I was mad underleveled for the Grand Archives 😂
Nothing warms my bones like a newbie getting hyped by easily killing the dragon, only to be shredded body and soul by the GOAT himself
fr
Fr it was the same with me the first time🤣
As a newbie with str built, i beat nameless king with 4 tries, max 15 min. Easy boss fight
@@samis5018good for you. I played the Dark Souls series in order starting years ago before DS even had a sequel but I struggled with this boss. I didn’t beat him until NG+ when I had got a shield with 100% lightening protection, made from a boss’s soul that I had unfortunately already used up so I had to go through NG+ until I fought and finally bet Nameless King
For me i struggled so much with the dragon that i had to change to a longer weapon. After I got past the dragon I killed nameless king in 2 tries.
“Your mother didn’t even name you” 😂
Floverse: "Nameless king is so easy"
Dies 100 times
Bro started to question his own existence at 3:08 a.m. we’ve all been there bro😂😂😂
The nameless king is no joke, well done man, we're all proud
It becomes a joke is you equip a faster weapon.I did a Thrall Axe run and it became the easiest boss. But when I did an Astora Greatsword run, It probably took more than 20 tries.
@@thenagainwhodoes7764 fax, i used ithryll sword and it was my first run, defeated em in 5-6 tries
@@nixxlol4308 Same here, did all the bosses that are supposed to be hard in first few tries, died to pontiff at least 20😂
@@DoDo-lf2gw i swear!!! Why is pontiff so difficult with fast weapons. It is not a good time lol
Idk man, I heard he was the most difficult boss in the game. No word of a lie I killed him first try, nameless king is way overhyped
Sign: "don't ring bell"
Flo: *rings bell*
This is Gwyn’s first born child who was banished because he sided with the dragons.
I dont think he knows who gwyn is, he didn't play ds1
@@abdulmannanbabar8020 That's the best part
Incorrect, dark souls 1 tells us he was still active in anor londo until gwyn left to link the fire.
He joined the dragon worshippers later.
@Steven-lz1vo No, he had been banished beforehand. That's why even in ds1, all his statues have been destroyed
@@abdulmannanbabar8020 the sunlight blade item description explicitly states that he was banished after gwyn left to link the fire. The reason why all his statues are destroyed is because they haven’t been maintained for a thousand years.
5 times he said 😂 , namless had you questioning life xD
NGL I would've never found this place either without a guide.
Same
Should we use Guides when playing Soulsgames ?? I feel like it might ruin the experience but the games are so hard and there’s so much one can miss
@@kavid8120 Play them blind in my opinion. The large majority of things that are hidden (areas/bosses) are already balanced around late game. Play through them naturally and only check the internet if you get stuck not knowing where to go, then check out where the hidden bosses and areas are afterwards to see what you missed.
@@kavid8120 I think doing it on NG+ or NG after already beaten once is ok, no experience is taken for me, would never dragon peak or Midir without looking how, so did them on NG+ as first time, same on all souls game, only the first playthrough is truly unique and should not be spoiled
"this is the guy everyone is talking about" just constantly dies
Bippity bopity your health is my property - Namless King
“tHiS iS tHe GuY??”
*Meanwhile has a 3rd of health left and no flasks*
Sometimes you just gotta motivate yourself
The Nameless King will truly be in many tales of when we tell our future kids of how difficult some game bosses we fought against were
thought this episode is never going to come out lets goooooo
The entry and the music camera angle everything is of epic proportion as Nameless King enters the arena on King of storm. It is easily one of those Oh shit moment. Nameless King is a perfect example of a Dark Souls boss done perfectly only next to Gael. He might not be the hardest but he is very satisfying to watch because of the feel of his blows and that walk.
Yeah, he's so cool, but my friend hyped me up but i defeated in after my 5 attempt, i don't know i struggle way much with abyss watcher
@@nigh6374 get a big sword. Abyss watcher won't be able to touch you. Go for a strength Dex build. Use a boss weapon from Soul of Abys watchers.
@@nayyarrashid4661 already defeated then i played ds3 2 years ago, first time playing souls like my build was anything and everything, what a a mess
Nameless King definitely is not a perfect boss. Phase 1 is a slog and the camera is terrible on it. After your first 2 attempts having to do it every time sucks.
1. I’ve never seen Flo get so pissed at dark souls before and I was low key howling but also understand his pain
2. Well done my man, you best the best main game boss imo. 10/10 effort
In the 1st phase the camera is the boss :P Great content man! Time for the DLCs!!
"There's no way that there's a third phase right?"
*Oh, my sweet summer child*
Your uploads are like 5 days behind my own first playthrough of Ds3. I tried NK for 2 h over two evenings and just got tilted of the same reasons you did. Did the end boss and then came back for this dude. Then i did him first attempt with my kid on my lap, covering halft the screen. Sometimes, you just need to take a small break.
Huge respect bro, everyone always has a character development arc on the King, you're the man!
I reacted the same way in phase 1
"He aint shit"
Sees nameless king
"Have mercy"
GG, congratz Flo, you def deserved this win, you persevered and didn't give up, breaks are fine and healthy, but you stuck with it.
Bro I love this boss. I did my first DS3 playthrough recently, and Nameless King was one of the most memorable fights. The buildup, the atmosphere, the first phase teasing his power and then the power-up cutscene into phase 2, all of it was fire. Whilst he was a challenge, I didn't find him nearly as hard as I was expecting, I found him extremely well rounded, and fair so long as you take time to learn his move set and read his tells. I s'pose the same could be said for most if not all Soulsbourne bosses but even so, fantastic fight. Two bosses left on my playthrough: Darkeater Midir and Gael.
Proud for you man, good luck and good fortune on your remaining journey!
Loving the series man! Looking forward to the next episode.
This brought back memories. I got so excited when you beat him. I really enjoyed this and I'm glad you kept pushing.
Bro you have a really strong narrative presence. By the end of the boss even I was like “we did it 😤” as if I was part of the journey. Subscription well earned glad to be a part of the journey
You earned a new subscriber, I enjoy watching someone else struggle other than myself.
The fear and uncertainty in - "is there a third phase?" - hahahaha, love it. I've just found you recently, and I'm enjoying all of your videos. It's always great seeing people experience the wall that is Nameless King for the first time, but eventually I started getting excited for you with each near victory you were showing, great stuff.
this episode has to be an all-time classic
The man couldn't sleep bc of the Nameless king!
Helpful tip: you can find or buy a spell that heal you when triggered by an equiped talisman and utilize your magic to heal. Can extend your time in the fight when timed correctly.
Can't wait for the DLC big boys
Ayo respect for perseverance. Great gameplay.
Tip for quick attacks for weapons do a dodge roll and immediately follow up with an attack as combo. It's the fastest way to damage with a great sword
Using Champion Victor's boss theme was a nice touch.
Well done man, i was exactly like you vs this boss, totaly lost my mind but in the end pulled it off, impressive boss this one :)
Anyone who says the nameless king is hard hasn’t fought Slave Knight Gael with their fists
I can’t wait until he gets to midir. that dragon is gonna drive him insane
congrats on your victory 🎉this remind me of my own playthrougth, i feel the pain...
Just, keep throwing yourself at it,
Feel yourself get better with time.
All just a durability test.
All time favorite game,
Kicks the adrenaline
“Why am I progressively getting worse” i know that phase 😂
I was nervous for you and this the first time I've actually seen someone fight the Nameless King! LOL I always see playthroughs and people just miss it, but yooo! This was sick!
Great job mate. You brought back all my feelings about that boss. Then i became a crazy mage and we shredded him on ng 7 lol
While it's obviously not the hardest boss, and almost no one thinks it is, he's still known for being very tough.
Hardest of the base game.
Plenty of people think that
@iHaveTheDocuments that pfp is insane though
Bro what? He is notorious for being the hardest boss in the base game
Not even hardest of ds3 imo, I had a much higher number of tries on Friede
That big wind up lighting attack can be cheeses by turning around and looking away from him
Love the vids man keep it up! I really recommend to at least try to get to all areas and bosses (dlc included), you can miss out so much in souls games.. I would really love a deathcounter for bosses, like that it is hard to keep track of the deaths :D
The camera's the real boss in this fight.
When he said “This is the guy!?” Then he went super saiyan I knew it was gonna be a good time for us.
When he said “max 5 attempts” I said oh lord you gonna learn today
Lol I had no clue what a plunging attack was either and then he actually did it and killed it. Liked and subbed immediately.
Lore wise Nameless king is so cool
Like he is the son of gwin the loctric king he made friends with Dragons and this is why his name was erased
And we are fighting a Hollow version of him
And he still has compassion for his parther Dragon and martial technique and a he is a warrior through and through
Such a cool guy
That was golden that was one of your best videos
Holy shit, the long awaited video! I will be having loads of fun watching this one😂 Cheers floverse
You will be doing the dlcs too right? I believe some bosses in the dlcs are harder than nameless. I have some bad news for you if you struggle against dragons…
there truly is something to be said about going to sleep and then waking up and whooping a boss
lol you gave me a flashback! Playing Alien Trilogy on Sega Saturn for 18 hours straight lol cause I couldn’t beat a level, keep playing until I could, now I can’t stop because I’m on a run lol. Had nightmares about facehuggers for a couple months. Totally worth it lol
Man, I remember I was stuck on the Nameless King for multiple days. When I finally beat him I was so damn relieved and happy. Definitely one of the best bosses I DS3 (including DLCs). Great job man!
Beat him in 3 or 5 tries on my first playthrough without summons or sorceries. Overhyped boss in my opinion.
the beginning of this video hurt me 😭 you’re funny ash tho!
The funny part is, in the lore, the nameless king is the son of Gwyn.
In the war against the dragons, Gwyn used his own unique form of lightning called sunlight to combat them, and he taught that very same lightning to his son.
After allying himself with the dragons, the enemies of Gwyn, the Nameless King was disowned and banished from Anor Londo.
His name was stripped from the annals of history, and his likeness was erased from existence.
You can see some broken statues in both Dark Souls 1 and 3 that used to be statues of the nameless king, and you can join a covenant from these demolished statues.
So this nameless king, is a god who wields sunlight to destroy the player.
And that is why he is so damn powerful.
Thank you so much for showing up on my feed🎉
Edit: 8:00 wait til the dlc buddy 😂
19:40 I ain't hear no bell 😂
2 things, 1-you should be dodging through attacks like when he does left swipe attack you dodge through/towards to other side of it, so when your s end your away from his weapon/attack.
2. your character doesn't dodge when you push the dodge button, your character dodges when you let go of the button.(which becomes sprint if you don't let go). i beat this guy lvl 1, now that was hard.
I never beat that Nameless King I got to admit. Also the plunging attack to the ancient wyvern did for some reason not work for me for the first 2-3 times, and I thought I was going crazy.
AYYYYYEEEEEE I already know this is about to be fire
I really hope you are about to play both the dlcs too! Would love to see you fight Sister Friede and also Gael! xD
I swear this boss is so legendary a new yt video on him has been released every week since ds3 launch day
Dude congrats, I literally cheered and raised my fist when you beat the nameless king
“Weakness: Head.”
Same bro
This fight was tough for me too. I would say that it’s the hardest fight in the souls series, well in my experience anyway. It was similar to the Fume Knight from DS2 in that I had to just give up but then beat him in NG+ when I was stronger. With Nameless King I had to use a shield that had 100% lightening protection but unfortunately the only one I could find came from a boss’s soul, a boss’s soul I had already used I help me level up. That’s the main reason I decided to try him in NG+ when I had he shield I wanted. I went full turtle and hid behind the shield and hit him when I saw the opportunity. I finally bet him and I haven’t fought him sincerely, that was enough for me! It helped that I had more health and other increased stats, it was needing the boss soul for the shield that pushed me into NG+, the Fume Knight was slightly different, I was sick of dying to him so just decided to level up more and try again in NG+, even though he was tougher I was nicely levelled up too. Not op I would say but I was definitely tougher and really comfortable with the game too in general
If you use the dragonslayer spear for the first phase then it becomes much easier, especially when it's charge attack does full damage. As for his actual fight (and this applies to every boss), try and react to his attacks intead of predicting (until you actually know the attacks). Even with 0.3-0.4s imput delay in dark souls which I played with and it looks like you do as well, it still works reasonably well.
Midir and Sister Friede are going to be EPIC videos
Two words I never knew I needed to hear side by side:
"Weave. Mink!"
“This is the guy?!”
“Max five attempts”
In my first playthrough I just used the emote to get a screenshot, thought it would look cool with that statue.
Hey can’t wait to see you continue playing the Arkham series
"Is there a 3rd phase bro?"
That was hilarious, well done bro😊🎉
Who do you think you are?
NK: The god of war?
Havel waiting upstairs though
Oh hell yeah, please more. Cant wait to see dlc thou.
It should be a Tee with "You died REPEATEDLY"
After repeatedly hearing that phrase, the funnier it gets
The added heartbeat SF man! You earn that W, dude!
Take the Dragonslayer shield and block yourself through the second phase
I just did him this evening. Might have taken me ~10 attempts, but my SL was like in the mid 140s so I think I am rather high at this point (I farmed Grand Archives until it became inefficient as Princes were giving me trouble).
As soon as P2 started I would pop a yellow bug pellet and an ember and by also using the thunderstone ring and a lothric shield with high lightning absorb his damage wasn't terrible in P2. I even used a bad (frost) weapon for him (irithyll rapier) in P2, but the damage didn't feel terrible, I just had to focus on dodging a lot.
What is a plunging attack....oh boy💀
i can't wait to see your Gael and soul of Cinder fight😆
12:15 Oh you 100% had him on that one. 😁Having to kill the Ruler of Storms w/ each death is fair punishment for losing I think, but it makes the fight a bit harder too bc you don't want to have to do that....AGAIN! Locking off & on during the Ruler phase will help with camera problems but being on or off the whole time is always going to be a bad time.
Stunlocking is always very frustrating
Alright man, I actually had to gg and come back to this boss later in the game on my first run. The first phase needs to be flawless and turns quick with the stagger. With the lightning stoneplate ring and physical defense ring buff, the second phase gets easier. My problem was healing, he would always hit me while I tried to heal. You have to time one or two attacks (not get greedy) and allow breathing room for the next series of dodges before attacking. Ember is another small advantage once you build the confidence, you can farm it at lothric castle from the knights; or just invade. Overall man great job, that boss was a nightmare
I found it because I like taking screenshots of those kinds of areas and was extremely shocked after I took a few pics and the screen went black...
i was waiting this video for a month
Love these videos
i found archdragon by myself. i got the pose and was like "hey i remember a dead guy making that pose in ithyrill dungeons. why not go sit with him?" AND THEN BAM I GOT THERE
I do some boxing 🥊 so the more aggressive a boss is, the easier it is for me to find windows where I can land hits. Kos Gael and Nameless are some of the fights I truly mastered.
Was stuck for four years lmao good luck g
""You mother didn't even name you lmaoooooo"" 11:13
been waiting for another ds3 vid!
I am gonna say something about Nameless King lighting bolt charged attack. I dont know how many ppl know this. You dont have to dodge that attack. It does not matter that is delayed. You not need to time your dodge cause you dont have to. All you need is that when you see him charging his weapon for the attack lock of and turn the camera the other way. Wait for the sound que and after you hear the lighting strike turn the camera back and continue the fight. Repeat the method if he is gonna do it again. Idk why but with these method the lighting not gonna hit you.
He’s a boss. I so remember the pain watching this guy
Nameless king is an experimental boss, keep experimenting and you'll find a weapon(s) which makes the fight trivial.
I refuse to fight this thing because I can't stand the camera during the dragon fight😂😂
Ohh he's gonna LOVE Midir.
I was expecting you to eventually go crazy against the nameless king and fights naked because I think it is easier to dodge him when naked 😂
We are proud of you tho man
like James May from Bottom Gear (Dark Souls 2)?
